I miss Mike Mussina. damn i loved that guy! I FINALLY got to see him, inhis last year when i went to a boston game. It wasnt that good of a game really, but I did catch a Manny HR which I promptly threw back to Johnny Damon in LF

What if McLain is gone?</P>

Should we take Spoon at 15. Should we take Spiller if he's there? Looks like the FO is very concerned about Phillips. Do we go SS?</P>

I think we would love to trade down. Lots of depth in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.</P>

The only reason I would see us taking another backer is if we just go "BPA" and McClain is there for the taking. No harm done there obviously!</P>

i can't see us looking in another direction at saftey. Thats the reason we spent so much on Rolle I think, so we could def have ONE stud back there. If Phillips comes bcak then we have the most dominant secondary in the league. I can't see us just giving up already. Im reading alot of stupid **** right now baout Phillips. PUP list? NOBODY is talking about the PUP list right now.=

I think Spiller is th eonly wild card, theres ALOT of rumblings about him.

Only way we trade down is if McClain isn't there, I could even see us making a move to get McClain

I don't care what he says... we are far from set at LB... I was never on this Goff train... i remember when he got drafted this place lit up... we need a beast... i'm sick of mediocre to average play out of LBs...

Let Goff, Sintim, GWilk, Kehl and all of them compete for that OLB spot.. lets just get the best for the middle

No he didn't. he speculated that our starting MLB might already be on our roster.</P>

Its hard to bring in a rook to play MLB though. There are a lot of needs on the football team. If McClain is there at 15 then we will probably take him. But I can def. see us trading down if he's not.</P>

thats actually not a true statement. The level of MLBs coming in as rookies and playing good is high. It may be the most successful position to transition. High first round success rate

Cushing isn't an inside guy. Mayo plays in 3-4 defense. Very different expectations. Willis and Ryans both came in and played well right away, its true. I agree that Mclain will be a safe pick. The only question is what will he give us this year. We are a "win now" team. Niether of those players (Willis and Ryans) played on good teams.</P>

</P>

And your use of the word "dominate" has to stop. You even claimed that Joba "dominated" in his 4 total innings in the playoffs last year.</P>

im not saying its the same thing as MLB, im just saying that making the transition at LB period is one of the easiest things to do.... it may be the easiest in comparison to DL and secondary.

Yea but imagine the Success Willis had with pretty much NOBODY there to help him, imagine him with a line like we have, he would of been that much better. Boley/Rolle could run the defense, we're just use to Pierce doing it

I guess my concern is that it wouldn't just be his responsiblity to play well. It would also be his job to make the defensive calls and make sure everyone else is where they should be. Thats the part that bothers me. Can a rook come in and accept that responsibility? Probably not.</P>

Pat Willis is great, but do we really know if he was able to make those calls and run that defense on the field as a rookie?</P>

We don't.</P>

Its hard to bring in a rook to play MLB though. There are a lot of needs on the football team. If McClain is there at 15 then we will probably take him. But I can def. see us trading down if he's not.</p>

thats actually not a true statement. The level of MLBs coming in as rookies and playing good is high. It may be the most successful position to transition. High first round success rate
</p>

I don't know Matt. Thats the QB of the defense.</p>

Willis, Cushing, Beason, MAyo, Ryans....

all dominant off the bat and thats just quick thinking
</p>

Cushing isn't an inside guy. Mayo plays in 3-4 defense. Very different expectations. Willis and Ryans both came in and played well right away, its true. I agree that Mclain will be a safe pick. The only question is what will he give us this year. We are a "win now" team. Niether of those players (Willis and Ryans) played on good teams.</p>

im not saying its the same thing as MLB, im just saying that making the transition at LB period is one of the easiest things to do.... it may be the easiest in comparison to DL and secondary.

Yea but imagine the Success Willis had with pretty much NOBODY there to help him, imagine him with a line like we have, he would of been that much better. Boley/Rolle could run the defense, we're just use to Pierce doing it
</p>

We don't.</p>

true but we do know that whether he was or he wasn't, the defense was still better because hwas there, he played like a beast, and that san fran was very happy...

plus if u surround a guy like that with a defense like we have when healthy, we dont need somebody like pierce anymore I would say... we have a vet and talented defense. I'd be fine with giving Rolle and Boley the honors

lol well lets REALLY break it down....

San An is playing great basketball right now...

Thunder are wildcards. With a man like Durant, he can DEF win a series by himself.

Utah is just as good of a team as anybody you mentioned...

Also its not 2005, the Suns being dominant and guaranteed winners is long gone.

Dallas is known for choking on **** when it comes to playoff performances.

Nuggets are NOT the same team without Karl and Kenyon

More nightclub problems for the Pittsburgh Steelers -- this time one of their best wide receivers is accused of attacking a woman with a glass and slicing her face open.

The man at the center of the drama is Santonio Holmes -- former Super Bowl MVP.

According to a new lawsuit filed last week in Florida, Holmes got into a verbal spat with a woman at Rain Nightclub in Orlando on March 7 over a spot on a couch in the VIP section.

According
to the docs, the woman says Holmes began going crazy when she refused
to move -- so he fired his glass full of liquor at her face ... causing
a "laceration" very close to her eye.

Here's where it gets
even crazier. The woman claims she flagged down cops from the Orlando
PD but they, along with Santonio, "pressured" her not to press charges.

The woman claims Santonio even offered her money because "he was an NFL star and could not get into trouble."

A rep for the Steelers tells us, "We are aware of the situation, and we are still gathering information."<div id="TixyyLink" style="border: medium none ; overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;">

According to the docs, the woman says Holmes began going crazy when she refused to move -- so he fired his glass full of liquor at her face ... causing a "laceration" very close to her eye.

Here's where it gets even crazier. The woman claims she flagged down cops from the Orlando PD but they, along with Santonio, "pressured" her not to press charges.

The woman claims Santonio even offered her money because "he was an NFL star and could not get into trouble."

A rep for the Steelers tells us, "We are aware of the situation, and we are still gathering information."

seriously, any football player that puts his hands on someone in a violent manner should be suspended for a year. especially a woman or a police officer

if all porter did was smack away a cops hand for touching his handle... then i would disagree with that statement... technically it is considered assaulting an officer

Remember this Boston pitcher Morehead lol He is right up there with Carl Pavano with us (Yankees) http://i39.tinypic.com/dpfh9t.jpg</P>

Pretty close. Clemente never really did much before he came here. At least Pavano had a couple good years in Miami.</P>

Clemente was always a "good stuff, no command" guy.</P>

I remember seeing Carl Pavano at the Tampa airport few years back. Wanted to close line him lol. Money wasted on him. How do you feel that DiceK is starting the season on the DL?</P>

My boss coached him in Little League in Southington, CT.</P>

I'm fine with Dicey's late startbecause you really don't need 5 starters until later in April. Plus we have Wakefield as a 5th starter if we need.</P>

A rep for the Steelers tells us, "We are aware of the situation, and we are still gathering information."

yea and thats what happens when theres no discipline. not saying mike tomlins not a good coach by any means, but besides the plax accident which was a stupid accident rather then stupid intent, there really hasnt been any giants getting in trouble with the law.

WTF!!! What is up with Pittsburgh?!? It's like where they send violent criminals to try to breed athletes or something?
Gotta say though...i love watching the Steelers fall apart in every aspect of the game. I HATE THE STEELERS!!! GOGO LEGAL SYSTEM!!! DO WORK, SON!!!!</P>

</P>

You seem to do a lot of hating. Steelers, Th entire City of Boston, Tim Tebow.</P>

Who else?</P>

</P>

oh like your list isnt longer?? lol</P>

your list is longer by default :

There is no organization or team ethic that more closely resembles the Giants than the Steelers. From ownership down. The Steelers are to be appreciated in my view.</P>

</P>

I can dislike who I want, but thanks for the input. The familiarity stopsat the ownership.
The redskins have tradition, do you appreciate them too?</P>

</P>

Are you trying to compare the Rooney family to Daniel Snyder?</P>

The Rooney's and the Mara's represent whats right with the NFL.</P>

Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones represent everything thats wrong.</P>

I like the Steelers coach, I like their approach, I like the relationship they have with the fans and city. I like the fact that after they won the SB, the FO instructed the office people to never answer the phone "Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers".</P>

Its Ben and Santonio Holmes who have disgraced the franchise.</P>

yea and thats what happens when theres no discipline. not saying mike tomlins not a good coach by any means, but besides the plax accident which was a stupid accident rather then stupid intent, there really hasnt been any giants getting in trouble with the law.
</P>

Bringing a loaded gun into a crowded nightclub and being so careless as to discharge it there wasn't just a stupid accident.</P>

Every team has had some problems with players. But a Giants fan hating the Steelers is so arbitrary it defies logic. Its like an Orioles fan hating the Astros.</P>

Makes no sense. I don't get Pizzy's attitude.</P>

the gun went off ACCIDENTALLY. no intent. ben had intent to sexually assault 2 women, holmes had intent to throw a drink in a womans face.

and pizz is a hater. no really i dont like them that much either, not on pizzs level, but because theyre one of the top dogs every year.
</P>

Did he choose to bring a loaded gun into the nightclub (against the law) by accident? Did he tuck the gun in his sweat pants by accident? He was careless ON PURPOSE. Obviously he didn't intend on discharging the gun. But he did as a product of intentional decisions he made.</P>

He deserved everything he got.</P>

And don't get me going on Ben. He's a bum too.</P>

careless on purpose? thats like an oxymoron morehead. haha. seriously if it was me i wouldnt be thinking "wait a minute, is this the gun i registered in new york?" come on really. and if he gets pulled over in jersey and arrested youd say why the **** does he have a gun registered in new york when he lives in jersey. right? point is stevey smith got stuck up outside his house 2 weeks prior. plax was thinking about protecting himself. did he deserve what he got? yes because he broke the law and tried fighting the system. but i also think that law is a little steep. my point is really plax is an idiot who had no intent on what he was doing. if he knew the gun would go off that night before he went out, he wouldnt of brought or wouldnt of went out. if ben knew hed be able to force himself on a woman that night hed of planned it better, same for holmes.

I had a sig here that read "I have Plaxico's Paxico". I've always said that he was a good teammate and a hard worker in practice. So I have no axe to grind here. The guy stuffed a loaded gun in his sweatpants and brought it into a crowded nightclub. It doesn't get more stupid and reckless than that. And the tough gun laws are legendary in NYC. he knew exactly what he was doing.</P>

</P>

</P>

</P>

I'll tell you Dezz. No one here defended Plaxico on this MB more than me. He went to MSU with my daughter. I watches him play for the Spartans for 2 years.

He got off light.</P>

i think he deserved a year, and they offered that to him but that should of been the worst case. listen plax is an idiot. yea the the sweatpants but someone needs to hit him in the face for buying a gun with no safety. hes not a friggn navy seal. nor is he a some kid from the ghetto which lets be honest is the real reason ny has such stiff gun laws, hes a football player and the judge should of saw that. theres no intent what so ever morehead.

</p>

You seem to do a lot of hating. Steelers, Th entire City of Boston, Tim Tebow.</p>

Who else?</p>

</p>

oh like your list isnt longer?? lol</p>

your list is longer by default :

"anyone under the age of 35..."</p>

</p>

There is no organization or team ethic that more closely resembles the Giants than the Steelers. From ownership down. The Steelers are to be appreciated in my view.</p>

</p>

I can dislike who I want, but thanks for the input. The familiarity stopsat the ownership.
The redskins have tradition, do you appreciate them too?</p>

people who do this sort of thing would be more hesistant with stricter laws... its common sense...

there would be less times where something could go wrong and thats what having strict laws will do.

The Oakland Raiders (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=oak) have emerged as the leading candidate to land quarterback Donovan McNabb (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=1753) in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=phi), league sources tell ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

I also heard they were willing to trade Nandi for him so that would SUUUUUCK.

I saw that too. I tried to act like maybe these people like all these "teabaggers" have a real reason for the acts they commit. Then I looked into it and nope, it's just a bunch of racist using anti-government as an excuse. It's sad and rather ironic. Yesterday I listened to a man with a pre-existing condition complaining about the new health care bill not knowing that this bill was probably the best thing that could happen for him. People don't care whether it helps or not if a man who is even only half black did it, it must be bad.

Mcnabb has done everything possible for that franchise. He was booed at the draft, the fans never seem to be happy enough with him. He has trade rumors the past 3 years. And of all places to send him they might send him to the raiders?

If this deal happens it will go down as one of the worst trades in the franchise of the Eagles.

I got this from AG for HC. Not trying to start this up again but I just want to see how you feel about this Matt. These are some older gents that I know we appreciate and they seem to be saying the same thing <font color="#0000ff">Morehead and Daven</font> are saying. It makes me think. I don't know why that guy screamed out "baby killer". Is this bad for my kids? or their kids? Daven is around but not sure if MH is. I would be curious to see how they feel about this conversation. As I said, I don't know much about all this at all and will be the first one to admit it but have learned quite a bit just from reading all you guys and this. What you think?

every time I think I'm beginning to understand you Americans you do something just before I do.

How you can't want health care for all citizens boggles my mind. To have it get to the level it has is quite shocking.

but I still love ya guys

</p>

Any sane person wants healthcare for all citizens.</p>

But it has to be put togther in both a way that will work, can be paid for, and done ethically.</p>

That is not what has occurred here.</p>

This has always been a land of free choice. There is no choice here.
If someone chooses not to purchase healthcare insurance, our government
is going to penalize those folks.</p>

And what are the insurance companies going to do with their premiums
now that they know EVERY American has to buy health insurance or be
penalized? The myth is that insurance companies will have to lower
their premiums to compete. The reality is that they don't have to do
anything but keep the premiums at the same level or raise them.</p>

Fewer bright young people will choose medical school and will opt
for a career elswhere. ( It's already been happening for 3 or 4 years )</p>

Physician's Assistant's and Nurse Practioners who now see patients
who have minor issues will soon be seeing patients for ailments that
are beyond the scope of their expertise. I see the trend already as a
healthcare recruiter. Remember, these are people who couldn't get into
Medical School to become a doctor.</p>

The quality of healthcare goes down. Wait time goes up. And we all suffer.</p>

<font size="4">This administration is destroying this once great country.</font></p>

</p>

</p>

I couldn't agree with you more, BB62. In my 63 years, the worst
ever, and at a sickeningly fast pace. But, prior administrations,
going back to LBJ, have certainly contributed to a gradual decline.
You could argue that it started when JFK picked up the french baggage
in Viet Nam. </p>

Little chinks here and there, all adding up. There have been
warnings about future funding of Social Secirity for 40 years. But,
this health care fiasco, and bailing out our large companies to the
tune of billions/trillions, plus the ongoing cost for supporting our
efforts in Afghan and Iraq, have all crystallized the dilemma to a
point where even the least astute of our citizins recognize big future
problems.</p>

For the first time ever, SS is in the red.</p>

So, I'm 63 and figure I'll be OK in my tenure... but I'm concerned
about my 2 sons, and my 17 year old grand daughter. She's 17, and 45
years from now, where is this once great country??</p>

It's scary... reality scary... just not suppositions and warning signs anymore. It's reality.</p>

Maybe I should advise her to learn Chinese?</p>
wow Zim...you just got me thinking......scary......its scary that my
grand kids are growing up in a completely different country than I
did......
all this was brewing for a long time.....a looong time......but when
you sit and think about it ......the change sort of slaps you....
like a saying I once heard....
"it came so slow you dont remember when you got so fat..."

I am hoping the eagles trade Mcnabb to the raiders. Please eagles mgt make that deal...</P>

not me... ughh. he is such a loser. he will never win a big game....... the eagles will never win with him and i would like to keep that streak alive.. i really want him to stay in philly.. that low life peice of ****.</P>

I don't like him as much as the next rival fan does. But he has our number, and if we can get a player who plays well against us out of the division I am all for it. As for Kolb the Eagles mgt are praying that he is the next Aaron Rodgers</P>

i know sooooooo many eagles fans and they are all so high on Kolb. ive seen him play and i dont see the same guy they see but whatever maybe its just me having zero respect for the eagles franchise, players and fans in general its hard to give credit to anything or anyone that represents that stupid *** bird</P>

well i wouldnt mind playing kolb or vick although vick deff wont start. was it lando that posted that article that said vick was constantly throwing 5 yards over wrs??
</P>

yea but who said Vick could throw anyway? uhhh NO ONE! lol
who cares.....Kolb will start, it's already a given. Vick isnt the kind of QB the eagles want. not why theyve pursued WRs for the past 2 seasons. </P>
