lol YESSSSSS!
honestly u can't really be happy about that
he was Putrid last year
I LOVE Feagles but he shouldnt be on the team this year. His power is non-existant, his directional kicking is getting worse, and GOD FORBID we have to rely on him to stop a play....... We shoulda respectfully asked him to ride into the sunset and gone after Zoltan Mesko from Mich this year in the draft
</P>
i guess youre right....but, the thing this past year was that our offense was either SCORE or no movement...
So if you ask the guy to kick from the 20 on a regular basis, youre gonna see the change. BUT if you need the field position, who better to nail a coffin in the corner? Idk, i still like him and think he's effective.</P>

I'm calling for more than 30 SB. if Gardner can TOUCH .280 avg, then 45 SBs shouldnt be a problem for him at all. What he needs is that place discipline to work counts. He's a very short guy, so the small strike zone should work to his advantage. I expect him to draw walks and to infuriate a many pitcher and catcher lol</P>

When it comes to Gardener, OBP is more important than Average IMO. His ability to draw walks will be a huge part of his game too and forcing errors cuz of his speed...

and its not even up for debate, if we're on our side of the field and having to punt, we're gonna lose the field postion battle more than most teams.... how many times did feagles try to place his punts from our side of the field and opposing teams get it at the 50 or 45....

last rounder! hehe. i dont see the point of keeping 2 punters on the roster though, seems stupid. unless you draft one last round, have him practice the summer, cut him, pick him up and keep him on the PS? Seems like alot of work....but we really should be developing someone....</P>

<h6 class="uiStreamMessage">@giantspathanlon: 44 year old P Jeff Feagles back in NYG fold, signing new contract today...2010 will be his 23rd season</h6>
lol YESSSSSS!
honestly u can't really be happy about that
he was Putrid last year
I LOVE Feagles but he shouldnt be on the team this year. His power is non-existant, his directional kicking is getting worse, and GOD FORBID we have to rely on him to stop a play....... We shoulda respectfully asked him to ride into the sunset and gone after Zoltan Mesko from Mich this year in the draft
</p>
i guess youre right....but, the thing this past year was that our offense was either SCORE or no movement...
So if you ask the guy to kick from the 20 on a regular basis, youre gonna see the change. BUT if you need the field position, who better to nail a coffin in the corner? Idk, i still like him and think he's effective.</p>He was effective only when punting from thier side of the 50, if he was punting from our end it looked TERRIBLE and usually gave the OTHER team decent field position
using the word usually is being nice too
Damn man, what did Feagles rob you for a pair of Jordans???? I understand not being happy but you're just spitting straight HATE
he was a handicap for us last year. Even when he was at the 50 he wasn't really kicking GREAT...
to bring him back a year later and want the same type of production (at best) is just aggravating
Nah, our DEFENSE was a handicap... Feagles was not great but what do you expect from a 50yr old football player!!??!!? Honestly I dont want him back but Im not hating, only reason I can think of 2 keep him is to show a new puinter the ropes or keep him STRICTLY as a holder on FG's and an expert on coffin kicks
so because our defense was a handicap, that means there could be no other handicaps?
then hire him as a coach...
so we're gonna use a roster space on him? i just dont get it

Tex is one of the best firstbaseman I have seen in a long time. He makes hard plays look simple.
Remember Donnie was a great fielder as well. I did not get the pleasure of seeing Gehrig play, but all you have to do is look at the numbers.
Here is one of his better seasons.
46 homeruns, 184 rbis, 17 stolen bases, 117 walks,56 strikeouts, 341 batting average, 446 obp.
He was a man amongst boys
I look foward to Cano this season. He had a poor post season but the guy can play..

Now that is what I like to hear. I can’t wait to see Granderson get comfortable in Yankee stadium</p>
yeeaaa! although I woulda have like to see Gardner in CF because watching him cover all that ground is a thing of BEAUTY!!! haha</p>
Have you seen Granderson in centerfield for the Tigers? Guy can cover tons of ground</p>
word.
But you know how it is, every few years you just fall for a guy(nohomo), and want him to be THE MAN! Gardner has been that guy for alot of ppl. I think it's because he's the only guy the past few seasons who isnt a proven asset to the team. of course there ARE exceptions....*COUGH* <font size="1">swisher </font>*COUGH*</p>
I root for Gardner. Gritty player plays hard
hes like chad curtis, except alot faster and not AS gritty..
i loved when Curis called out JEter for *****footing with Arod when there was a brawl..
unfortunately thats what signed his ticket out o fNY lol
I liked Chad Curtis.
Like you said what he said was what a lot of players were prob thinking, but you don't say it.
He is Derek Jeter your Chad Curtis
yea but still it was gret..
i liked that. That type of toughness iswhat we missed this decade... CC, Swish, and AJ all have that hardcore mentality... i think it really did alot for us...
I miss Paul O'Neill and Scott Brosius
i TOTALLY miss Pauly...
i wish i missed Tino more.. but ****in Tex is god lol... dare i say, he may surpass Donnie baseball?
Tex is def the real deal.
He doesn’t need to surpass mattingly. He is making his own legacy in pinstripes
i think he goes down as GOAT for first base to ever win pinstripes...
Keep in mind he'll proly be a yankee as long as mattingly was and he'll still have all thees years in the league up til this point... Mattingly being cut short on ihs career is a shame... hes not gona be in the hall and won't be regarded as he should. Such a shame
No one beats Lou Gehrig as the best first-baseman to ever wear pinstripes. (My Opinion)
there is going to be no glove to top TEx's he may be the sickest i've ever seen
And well i dunno, we'll have to compare the numbers when tex is done, i've never seen Gehrig so i can't really say...
both were/are damn good, but donnies a better fielder. stats are tooooo stuuupid.

We didn't need it and theres no way to prove it, but if we got Grant on a joke of a contract then it was just a great move... if we paid him then i'll admit i was wrong... if we got him on a minimum then it was just a great move.
And i bet if we weren't able to get him on a contract like that, it would of happened thru the draft

<P id=yui-tmp-3>Pitching coach Dave Eiland said that Chamberlain will remain in the bullpen all season, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. "He's in the bullpen, and he's there to stay, period," Eiland said. "There's people above me that can override my decision, but as far as I'm concerned, that's where he's going to be."
Eiland acknowledged that the powers that be (read: general manager Brian Cashman and senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner) could opt to go a different route, but Eiland said there's no plan for Chamberlain to work in the bullpen this year and be reevaluated at the end of the season for a starting job. "We feel like he can be a good starter," he said. "We feel like he can be a great reliever." However, Cashman disagreed, telling the Associated Press that there have been no meetings on Chamberlain's status for 2011. Bottom line: Chamberlain will be in the bullpen for this season, but his role for 2011 and beyond remains undecided.<CITE>(Rotowire.com)</CITE></P>

haha. it was actually funny that A) it came up right after i was talking about it, and B) HOW it came up....she was telling us about how when her and her gf were on a break, one of their mutual friends said that she had cheated on her or something....and then my other friend was like.....
"sooooooo, does that mean your gonna get back on that pogo stick?!" lol...and she was like, yea idk, it's been awhile, who knows! it was one of the funniest conversations ive heard in awhile. I mean the breakup story was pretty depressing, but THAT part was good. lol</P>

Keep him in the bullpen for now on. Joba has nasty pitches and he seems to fit well in the pen. When he was a starter it was he would have 2 bad days to every one good day. We need consistency in the starting pitching.
My opinion keep him in the pen until MO retires and get him to be the next closer for the Yankees. When Joba is on he is un-hittable.

Ive had an interesting offseason so far. Moved from the bronx to westchester. Met a below average looking girl whos family is filthy rich and threw my back out trying to impregnate her ( its not easy to make a living these days, dont judge). Started snorting H occasionally. Jumped from a car moving 30 miles an hour.. Started renting a room from an old lady with mild-moderate dimentia who also rents to a crackhead.
Oh and i cut my drinking to one night a week.

So I just saw something a bit disturbing on the net and decided to see what you guys think about it. I know everyone hates to get political but hey this is THEE GREATEST thread EVER right? So nothing is off limits. Plus there is a larger NFL point at the end.
A very credible reporter pointed out that dissent is a vital part of this country and is even necessary for us to thrive. We always have different opinions but for the first time in history those opinions are coming because we for some reason are working with DIFFERENT FACTS. How is this possible? It turns out Fox noise I mean news has had a big hand in manipulating the facts to fit their needs. Now I know this is not a shock to most of us, but the depth of it is way beyond what I imagined.
Fox has used footage from rallies that took place in the Summer time to act like small tea party gatherings were larger than they in fact were.

They spread rumors and created a false story about global warming being a hoax. Remember they uncovered emails from the British scientist who found the evidence that man is increasing global warming that showed they were secretly faking the data. Yea... After spending millions and wasting months running all the test over. It turns out guess what? The scientist were correct. But the damage to public opinion is already done.
Link pending results just came out today.
They got ACORN, a good organization that helped real people, shut down. For what? Just because they helped get out the vote. Legally! How did they do it. Remember the pimp story.

I have at least six more of these examples. My point is this, there are not two sets of facts. Fox is purposely using a news outlet to cause hatred of the government. With that being said and Fox being the main channel for the NFL. Do you think it's right for the NFL to do business with such a company? I mean as a business owner myself I know you have to separate yourself from companies that has employees that make public anti-government statements. Statements like this:

LLLMAAAAOOOO!!! did you guys see this in the "waht are you doing with your time during the offseason" thread?!?!?!?!?!?!?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA</P>
</P>
Damn man, that Diesel aka Heroin is a DEMON!!!!!!
Its a full on epidemic in the Tri-State Area for all those that dont live here...... Think of Crack in the 80's. Gang Violence, Robberies, Break-Ins, and Crime as a whole has been SKY-ROCKETING because of it, to quote 'The MAD Real World' on Chapelle's Show........ 'N*ggas is WILD'N!!!"
</P>
for real, braaaahhh?? Coke is in issue in poughkeepsie, we dont have many crackheads, few here and there I seen....but i AINT KNO **** about HERRRRON. ive honestly never heard of it being a prob around here. Thats pretty disturbing though, especially since it's a drug thats been around FOREVER</P>
Well its actually a simple and HORRIBLE equation
Kids start doing pain pills but its expensive and they wanna keep the similar high so they then begin sniffing dope cause its MUCH cheaper and does the same thing, then before they know it theyre robbing people at the train station and breaking in houses or robbing banks.... And when I say kids I mean younger than 16, its DISGUSTING
yea it is man. pain killers are ****ing this generation up, especially oc and xanex. but of course no one says anything because its a multi billion dollar buisness.
i dont understand, just give me a brew and my nug man
</P>
I don't know if no one is saying anything... They had been running a PSA on TV up here where it's a drug dealer sitting by a payphone at a run down convienence store saying how bad business has been because kids were getting their drugs from their parents' medicine cabinents. It was actually kind of funny.</P>
Up in the Cap District, it's pretty much a grab bag of fun. We usually run a little behind whatever the trend is in the City, due to the high number of transplants.</P>

Not sure whats been discussed here but I think the Eagles made a horrible move. Franchise QB's are THEE most precious commodity in the NFL. You don't trade a guy with that resume. Especially inside the division. </P>
As far as I'm concerned, the Eagles just swapped with the Redskins as the worst team in the division.</P>

I guess I do agree with you. It's probably the most ballsy move ive seen in a very long time. you BUILT a team around mcnabb, gave him REALLY good WRs, a legit run game(well now its questionable) and improved your OLine...and now you just give the ball to a guy whos taken a game's worth of reps. ehhhhh not agood idea at all. im with ya</P>

hahaha...this is a good story...</P>
so I've worked here at the credit union for 5 years, and quite often you have people who dont want to show you their ID to do their transactions. not sure why...not sure if they feel a sense of entitlement, laziness, or if they just like to complain. Regardless, part of the Patriot Act included multiple bank regulations requiring people to ID themselves to do banking....I personally dont see what the big deal is. Sometimes you have to actually explain to old people in these words: "If we dont require you to show your ID, what's to stop me, or anyone else from going to the branch, pretending they were you, and withdrawing your $$...."</P>
So anyway...we've gotten new equiptment that can scan driver's licenses and store the image on a database that brings up the image when we pull your account. It's simple, yet pretty cool. We've actually had it for years(my ID has been on the system for like 3 years), but the software is finally finished.
So this guy today is at a teller, and says he's tired of showing his ID. SO they tell him to go up front, and we can scan it. He wants more info, so he does just that. After explaining, he's like...."f*ck that big brother bullsh*t....why do you want to save my ID?!!?" so im like....didnt you just say you didnt want to show it anymore?
-thats right, but im not giving you my ID so you can do God knows what with it!!

what are you talking about.
the point is, if you run out of money, you can't return food you ate, unless want to hand them a pile of crap...I doubt they want that.
noone is talking about refunds or fraudulent activity.
</P>
i thought your point was to say that you cant return food...so i was saying....you can ask for a refund, and im sure youll get it. sure you cant scarf a sandwich and ask for one, but if your food sucks, or if you find a finger in your chili....whats the problem? lol</P>
maybe we arent talking about the same thing. oh, btw, i was talking about the whole fraud thing in maybe the wrong spot lol....cuz I was just saying WHY i prefer my card....
if you lose cash, you lose cash...if you lose your card, you get a new card. and if there are purchases you didnt make on a card, you dispute them and get your money back.....things you cant do with cash. So yea, i wasnt talking about the same thing, just making a side point basically</P>

we are not talking about the same thing, I'm talking about fiscal responsibility, when Credit Cards weren't something "everyone" had and used everyday, they were used the way I was talking about, there were rules you were supposed to follow, you don't "Have" to but one of the rules was you are not supposed to purchase anything with a credit card that you can't "give back"
this way if you buy a TV on Tuesday, but on Wednesday you find out you need a new tranny and it's not covered you can return the TV and not owe more money then you can afford to pay.
with fast food, if you buy a months worth of fast food and it adds up to say 250-300 dollars, and then something happens, and you can't pay it off, what are you gonna do? you clearly can't give back the fast food.

yes there is a reason, he sucks, they won't be better then 7-9 this year, and McNabb will be exposed for what he's always been.
his stats were always good cause philly throws the ball like 70% of the time, the redskins won't throw it as much, McNabb was always a very average QB in my opinion, and one of the biggest choke artists around.

Now your just being a Daven.</P>
Love him or hate him his production is unquestionable. Very few QB's in NFL history have had a better than 2 to 1 ratio between TD's and Int's. The guy wins every year. He took a lousy team and they won for 10 years.</P>
Last year was no drop off at all. The guy should have at least 4 or 5 good years left. </P>
Kolb is completely unproven. He'san untested playerwho played in a spread offense in college.</P>

If Vick starts for this team the Eagles are done. They are banking on Kolb to take over. Thats the only reason to trade McNabb.</P>
Vick has no burst since he's been back and he has always been a crappy passer. He has no value with the Eagles as anything other than a Wildcat QB.</P>

I think they owuld of used Vick alot more last year if McNabb wasn't there. I think Reid was taking care of him. Vick vs Kolb? I think Vick will have a huge role in this. We'll see if Vicks legs can get a little bounce back in their step this year.
It wasn't like he missed a year cuz he was down with injury, his legs were kinda preserved. He may be in ALOT better condition for this year.

As long as Jack Del Rio is coach they always go defense first.
This makes no sense; the Jags are in need of offensive weapons besides Maurice Jones-Drew
