im sure it's hard for players to not take it personally. but let's be honest...our team has ALOT of RBs who could be on the active roster....AB holds to most value at the moment because he's a very effectivelow-risk back. If this story is true, it does kinda makes sense to me.

well i actually disagree with anything low about him...

i would say hes high risk/high reward. I mean between the injuries and putting the ball on the floor a couple of times, he can hurt ya if u rely on him. BUT, he can also break a TD anytime he touches the ball... i dunno
and he still played with two broken ankles despite those injuries.

dude....you cant walk with 2 broken ankles, what are you talking about? lol

If we have to trade one of the three RB's between Jacobs/Bradshaw/Ware....you all know I think Bradshaw has the least value, so if we can get good value for him, that's great!

are you ok with it? whats your personal feelings on trading AB?

i love AB, but his health is a question mark.

If we traded up to get Spiller and we lose AB, then i'd be kinda pissed. Spiller better be the ABSOLUTE TRUTH if thats gonn ahappen

maybe theres truth to Westy coming here ?

yea well.....that makes SENSE! But there isnt time for that if we pull the trigger on or before draft day...
we unfort. have to go under the assumption that our O-line steps up their game, returns to their former selves, and that Jacobs has another beastly season, and Ware and (whoever else we keep on the roster) accomplish the same things AB and Ward have in the past...
It's totally possible. Even with our roster last year, we BARELY got to see Ware because of that injury in the opening kickoff week 1 lol. which btw looked horribly painful >.< lol
I trust our running game if the o-line looks like it did the year prior.

but Bradshaw is just fast, strong, and a game breaker

Well you see, Ware is a better running back, therefore he has more value to US, most people don't know that, including other teams, so if we can get "more" value for Bradshaw then Ware in a trade, and we need to trade one, the Bradshaw's the one I wouldn't mind losing.

OK all my MB friends. Its 3 days to go. Maybe we should give our pick as to who the Giants will draft in round one. Not a hope, but a prediction.

Being the contrarian that I am, I will pick Earl Thomas. For no other reason that I think he is a top 5 player in this years draft.

Well you see, Ware is a better running back, therefore he has more value to US, most people don't know that, including other teams, so if we can get "more" value for Bradshaw then Ware in a trade, and we need to trade one, the Bradshaw's the one I wouldn't mind losing.

yea but he's right,Matt. IF we put RBs on the trading block, nobody is gonna be like "OOOH! Danny Ware! let's get em!"
AB has the name cuz he played alot more already and people know what he's done on the field.
From a business standpoint, it makes perfect sense, especially if the team likes Ware and has kept him on the roster the past 2 seasons.

I'm, with you there, but there's another thing, I simply do not like his running "style" it's too herky/jerky, it works for him sometimes, but just as often as he breaks a 10+ yard run because of his stops and starts, he also gets hit from behind because he's stopping and misses the opportunity to get 5-6 yards, also, getting hit from behind, while stopping like that is bound to lead to injuries.

MY POINT was that YOUR points(and those of most people on the GMBs) is they havent seen Ware do anything.....you havent seen him play...and I understand, I do...really...
But my point was(and always has been when we've had these arguments) is that I'm probably one of the only people on these boards who has seen him, so....I do know what he's capable of, even against NFL defenses. Some of it is certainly speculative, but I feel I havejust the slightest bit more knowledge on the topic.
Dont blame you for being wary of that though.

I wonder how much value we can get from AB in a trade. A precedent for an Osi trade could be the Gaines Adams trade last year where the Bucs got the Bears 2nd rounder. I would hope that if we do trade Osi it would be a better deal than that since Osi is better than Adams was.

we carried 3 RBs on the active roster last year. Andre Brown comes back this year, if AB is traded you can most certainly bank on us taking a RB at some point in this draft, and if not AB is still higher than Ware on the depth chart anyway. Also, it is almost a definite that we carry 4 safeties this year instead of 3 like last year. Good chance Danny Ware doesn't make the team.

so Brown, whose done nothing, is definitely coming back, but Ware, whose at least shown he's good during preseason and a couple carries here or there during the regular season, isn't coming back why?

Ware's probably much cheaper then Brown too..

of our Current Backs the chances they are on our team this year rank as follows imho.

Jacobs
Ware
Bradshaw
Brown.

DavenIII

so you are assuming that the coaches are locked into certain RB's making the team "regardless" of performance?

I think Ware outplays them "all" during training camp/preseason, including Bjac, who as everyone already knows, I have a man crush on.

I think it's possible we don't take the 3 best backs into the season, but I don't see why we wouldn't, especially since Ware's cheap compared to the others.

Ware passing Jacobs or AB for that matteron the depth chart is not happening sorry.

We invested a 3rd round pick into Brown, he's staying on board. Ware and Brown's paychecks are quite similar and in this uncapped season it doesn't matter much anyway.

There were quotes from coaches that Ware would be getting some carries the past season in a 3back attack, however, after game 5 Ware saw minimal to no touches when of course AB had broken foot/feet and Jacobs had the knee injury. That tells a big story of what the coaches think of him.

As for Brown, Reese just simply is not going to throw away a 3rd round pick from just a year ago. He's a former scout and knows the value of his picks. He expects (as quoted) every player in the 1st 3 rounds taken to make an impact and will be given every opportunity to do so.

We invested a 3rd round pick into Brown, he's staying on board. Ware and Brown's paychecks are quite similar and in this uncapped season it doesn't matter much anyway.

so what your saying is, simply because we used a 3rd round pick, and simply because Bradshaw and BJ "were" our 2 starters, that Ware has no chance.

yeah I don't agree, I think they'll take training camp/preseason into account.

Obviously they will take training/preason into account, but there's no reason to believe that both BJ and AB won't outperform Ware like they already have their entire careers.

As for Brown, Reese just simply is not going to throw away a 3rd round pick from just a year ago. He's a former scout and knows the value of his picks. He expects (as quoted) every player in the 1st 3 rounds taken to make an impact and will be given every opportunity to do so.

Good luck making the team danny.

he has to make the team.. i signed up to JPizzacks 'Danny Ware's fan club' :)

well hey, rebelfan1966 signed up to the Giants fan club whenEli got here, so you can always follow Ware to his new team, if he makes a squad.

If we have to trade one of the three RB's between Jacobs/Bradshaw/Ware....you all know I think Bradshaw has the least value, so if we can get good value for him, that's great!

lol, explain how Ware has more value agian?

stop being daven lol

Well you see, Ware is a better running back, therefore he has more value to US, most people don't know that, including other teams, so if we can get "more" value for Bradshaw then Ware in a trade, and we need to trade one, the Bradshaw's the one I wouldn't mind losing.
you cant just flat out say ware is better then bradshaw. based on what? you need more then your gut to make it a fact.

hahaha I LOVE DAVEN!!
Ware is the man! Listen, I know everyone love AB....and of course I do too, cuz he's a Giant. But there's nothing to suggest that anyone with his same speed and elusiveness cant do the same thing, or better. Ware is an awesome RB. It's unfort. due to lack of snaps that not everyone sees it.

BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW HES A GOOD RB?!?lol

signs your wrong in an argument:

Daven agrees with you...

>.<

I went to the same school as Danny Ware? I saw him play uhhh...at leasta dozentimes in person?
Knowshon was better when he came thru, but still played a half a season behind Ware.
UGA is where Fundamentally solid RBs are BUILT!!!
Just ask Hershell Walker andTerrel Davis =P

MY POINT was that YOUR points(and those of most people on the GMBs) is they havent seen Ware do anything.....you havent seen him play...and I understand, I do...really...
But my point was(and always has been when we've had these arguments) is that I'm probably one of the only people on these boards who has seen him, so....I do know what he's capable of, even against NFL defenses. Some of it is certainly speculative, but I feel I havejust the slightest bit more knowledge on the topic.

oh and my guess is that if this all does happen, he gets traded to the pats for one of their third rounders
How was the Snoop Show??

We dont have any 3rd Rounders, and i would be very surprised if we gave one of our 3 2nd Round picks for him....

I will throw some stuff in the mail to ya. Seeing how your the only participant.....lol.

I agree with the Spoon pick for you guys, but i would be surprised if you guys moved up. I think the G-men will wait thier turn.....If Spoon is not there, they may go OL in the first round...

TE is a good pick for us..But imo- only if its Gresham. Other than that, i think we go LB,RB,TE or any combo of those three positions. However, Odrick is very intriguing......

Give me Greshem, Matthews, Chaney, and Odrick..and i will kiss you all................lol.

it was sick, they had Ja Rule and Juelz Santana come out befor ehim. Snoop himself sucked. Came on stage for like a song and dipped.

But it was cool cuz I got to meet and talk to Kurupt, BJ Raji of the PAckers, Jacobs and got to shake Nicks hand

That post was more aimed towards Morehead because I was wondering if he was gonna try the Larry Bird argument on me haha. Some people have seen Ware, some havent. It's not like we have all been watching different sports here or anything.
I say dont count him out. And in regards to this apparent AB rumor, it's a sacrifice the team has to make at some point. I'm more comfortable trading out a RB(or any decently valued offensive player) than losing more on defense that we already have. I feel we really need to keep whatever we can on defense, while at the same timemaking the additions we OBVIOUSLY lack.
People arent going to be happy giving up someone like AB who is clearly a fan favorite on these boards, but....team first, everyone says, right?

With BJ, Bradshaw and Andre Brown you better hope that we don't draft another back. If we do, he is either trade bait or he'll be cut. I'm not saying the kid can't play, but he's on the outside looking in at RB for the Giants.

If Sinorice Moss can cling to the starting roster as long as he did, and a really good guy/player like Ware gets dumped I'll be disappointed, on the bright side, I don't see it happening and I'm usually right.

You guys can propose and speculate how oh so great Ware is, but the fact remains that the coaching staff benched him after week 5, which is quite telling of their opinion of him, especially considering the health of the other RBs on the roster.

Moss was a 2nd rounder, Brown was drafted just last yr in the 3rd. There was a much higher investment in those players, therefore their opportunities will be much more sufficient than Ware's. However, you can probably count on Moss not making the team this year either.

theres a reason hes a fan favorite its cuz hes a fan favorite...

while getting a MLB is a high priority, most of our defensive woes was due to a depleted secondary and a bad scheme and injuries...

we've taken care of all of that

lol wtf does that even MEAN!?!?

and yes, i understand all that, but would you rather stack what we got on offense(which for the most part is working), or improve defense. MOST of the time I'd say improve the defense. i dont know man. only a few more days to find out where we're headed!

i mean to say cuz hes a game breaker lol my bad

why would you take away from something that was working so well? Referring to our offense. And as for our running game he was the only positive thing about our running game last year.

sure. but you said yourself that our o-line needs work. So let's say there's an improvement.....couldnt we do the same thing we've done the 2 years prior?

well i dunno, i mean honestly i think our OLine is on the decline...

but yea i guess we could, but most likely could we? Im not so sure. I do think Jacobs will be back, but he may of seen his best days
not sure about the oline myself... but they could be helped out... a good pass catching back screens and what not.... help the boys out some.....I believe there is no way that Reece and co aren't thinking about a Jacobs successorand it may be sooner then alot think around hear....just a gut feelingits all I got....we will see ....

He dislocated it. He was active for 8 games and got 13 touches, 5 of which coming in the last game of the season in meaningless time. After being talked about being used in the 3headed rushing attack in the offseason then only getting 13 carries in 8 games tells you alot about what the staff thinks of him, as I've mentioned several times now. So basically, you don't really have an argument other than you saw him play college ball?

How much does TC love guys who can't stay on the field? Every time he touches the ball he got hurt. His 1st touch of the year, and then (after a huge fumble) he suffered a concusion.

Its not fair but not only has he done nothing, but he's gotten hurt whenever he's had a chance. (to do nothing)

Expect DJ to be competing for the #4 RB spot.

I hate to break the news to Pizzle, but I give Danny Ware about a 25% chance of being a Giant on opening day.

With BJ, Bradshaw and Andre Brown you better hope that we don't draft another back. If we do, he is either trade bait or he'll be cut. I'm not saying the kid can't play, but he's on the outside looking in at RB for the Giants.

Andre Brown? whos never taken an NFL snap? soooo that would make it about a 50% chance that either will have a spot, wouldnt you say?

i dunno, Ware has had some chances to show something and he hasn't. They may be inclined to give someone else a chance...

Granted Ware didn't really get ALOT of ****s, but he did have a few and he never impressed at all

13 carries 76 Yards 5.6 YPA and a TD.

Ware's been "very" good when he's had his chances, I think he also lead the team in Preseason too...

if Ware was #2, we'd get the same production as AB. Matt you call AB gamebreaker, or whatever....but LIKE I SAID....anyone with the same speed and elusive running AB has can do the same thing. Why was Ward a productive our o-line, but not AB? did they change the o-line when I wasnt looking or something?

name other RBs that are as quick, strong, can catch, and have big play ability (and have had success with big play ability, hence Danny Ware wouldn't count) like Bradshaw does

In 3 seasons he has averaged 5.2 yards a carry. Now I guess you can say well he has not had that many reps. Also, you say he gets stuffed more so then not? Besides last season which every RB on our team was getting stuffed, the Bradshaw I saw was making yards out of nothing more so then not. Now why can't he play a full season, with majority of carries? Cause he had 1 season with 2 bad feet? And he still accumulated 778 yards with a 4.8 avg. Give him another 150 carries and he's got over 1,500 yds.

And who will be our 2nd back if we do not have Bradshaw?

whats that even mean? iv seen blt, tiki get stuffed plenty of times in their prime as well. this is the nfl man, theyre not going to break 20 yards every play. he has the ability to make people miss, breaks a lot of arm tackles, makes excellent cuts, and has good speed. stop hating

the past month or so our company has been telling us that we've been down in loan growth, and to focus on that and see what happens...

Well as it works out, i've been doing nothing but loans it seems. and i dont mind, but they can be tedious lol

every banks loan growth has to be down ,nobody has been giving loans

I think it has more to do with people not wanting the debt right now. apparently we've been paying off loans faster than we can finish giving them out.

misconception is that banks havent been giving out loans...the truth is, the ones that had bad lending practices are the ones not giving out money, therefore making even less.
it's a cycle thats hurting them. we seem to be doing ok, we didnt write too many bad loans, specifically mortgages haha

And honestly, if the Giants don't do it, they would be the team im cheering for second....

just because it would burn Philly so bad, that it would be so beautiful and poetic...

only if the Giants are done some how... i would def cheer for Wash.

yea man Shanahan wants to win, besides Santana Moss they have NOTHING at WR. The McNabb to TO connection will invigorate that team alot i think. If McNabb is asking for it, i think it shall be done....

def gonna get TO at a bargain at this point. Theres no many places he can go where theres a need for WR and a QB that can keep him happy, let alone tolerate him. Washington and Shanahan and McNabb, its a perfect fit

yea man Shanahan wants to win, besides Santana Moss they have NOTHING at WR. The McNabb to TO connection will invigorate that team alot i think. If McNabb is asking for it, i think it shall be done....

def gonna get TO at a bargain at this point. Theres no many places he can go where theres a need for WR and a QB that can keep him happy, let alone tolerate him. Washington and Shanahan and McNabb, its a perfect fit
hell rip that team apart like yesterdays taco bell is doing to my stomach.

portis and LJ in shanahans offense wiht a passing game and QB... they will be fine. Portis was banged up last year and had defenses JUST keying on him. He had not shot to be successful. Washingtons running game will be fine.

well pretty much everything u said here was BS lol.

First LJ: Got hurt in 07 and was on his way to a 1000 yard season. Thats also the year they started having their line cave in. By the 08 season that whole line was sub par. THATS what causes LJ to hurt even more. Then not only that the shot he got to play when Benson got hurt he had 100 yards with a 5.0 average. Other then that they were just using him for security and he just got spot touches. So like i said he did decent with the shots he got. Alot better than DJ Ware lol.

Portis does get shut down by us, but that doesn't mean hes not effective vs the rest of the league. Hes been one of the most consistant backs in the league except for last year when he was hurt for more than half the year and 06 when he wa shurt for half the year. Your off on your facts about portis.

TO alone can help the running game a lil. To with Mcnabb can DEFINTILY help the running game. Not to mention they still have one of the most underrated WRs in the league IMO in S. Moss. Give that guy somebody that can throw the ball to him and he can do some damage. Not to mention they still have Cooley.

Specifically for what TO can bring to Redskins, i think he puts them over the top. As long as their defense stays solid. I mean switching 4-3 to 3-4 can be a bad transition, i think Shanahan is making a mistake there

"WTF IS THIS!? AMATEUR HOUR?!?" everyone was cracking up/ he looked around our age and was not comprehending anything that was being said to him. he had to be on something else. might of been shrooming or rolling balls. his eyes were all over the place too.
his friend, who looked just as wrecked was like "hey go easy on him, he just had a little too much to drink" andrews like "stfu man, you dont drink like its a ****in frat party before a 1 oclock game." of course you do but he was trying to make a point. anyway andrew brought the yellow shirts back with him after he went to the bathroom to clean up. lol they took him out and his friend stayed! mind you this was the *** raping we gave the seahawks. i wonder what happened to that kid cause he needed to be chaperoned.

"WTF IS THIS!? AMATEUR HOUR?!?" everyone was cracking up/ he looked around our age and was not comprehending anything that was being said to him. he had to be on something else. might of been shrooming or rolling balls. his eyes were all over the place too.
his friend, who looked just as wrecked was like "hey go easy on him, he just had a little too much to drink" andrews like "stfu man, you dont drink like its a ****in frat party before a 1 oclock game." of course you do but he was trying to make a point. anyway andrew brought the yellow shirts back with him after he went to the bathroom to clean up. lol they took him out and his friend stayed! mind you this was the *** raping we gave the seahawks. i wonder what happened to that kid cause he needed to be chaperoned.
i always run into ****ing ******s at giant stadium......

I was at that game, I probably saw the yellow jackets swarming.

I love watching them roll the drunken amateurs around in the wheel chairs with the seatbelts ... it's hilarious.

seriously though, it's ok to get drunk it's ok to be VERY drunk, but you have to know what you act like when drunk..if your an Angry drunk then maybe, you shouldn't get "really" drunk at a football game.

also, throwing up in a car, on someone, on the floor, TOTAL amateur move...it's really not difficult to throw up in a better place, I once threw up into a water bottle during a bachelor party because the bathroom was not accessible, closed the top and threw it out, nobody even knew, control your flow come on...

worst comes to worst just jam a chicken bone down your throat like Landon, that'll hold it back for a while.

Veteran wide receiver Torry Holt will catch passes from quarterback Tom
Brady, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, after signing a one-year, $1.7 million
contract with the New England Patriots, a league source told NFL
Network insider Jason La Canfora on Tuesday.

eh

He has only missed 3 games in 12 years. That is ****ing impressive.

thats a nice signing..

i hate sitting where we're sitting as Giant fans sometimes. I know i know its like frowned upon to trade around and sign FAs, but I am more of a believer in builind your core with the draft and add the pieces....

we did do some nice things but it just bothers me that the only trade rumors we have going are to dump Bradshaw and Osi, even tho i wouldn't be totally opposed to either depending on what other moves we did. But I want to by the buying team with players like that.

There was a couple of deals at LB we could of made moves for, but we didn't. I dunno its just hard to sit back and see our whole division make some good moves or sometimes big and flashy moves and us be overly modest. Now the Jets are doing a philosphy, used the draft, get some modest signing, become good then just add pieces of the puzzles. And always looking for quality deals like Holmes and Cromartie....

i must say i am kinda envious of what the jets front office is doing. I would never admit that anywhere else in the world, so shhhhh its our secret

it's kinda depressing to know the only splash we've made in 2 years is Rolle and Boley....

I mean, we def. added where we need improvement...but for 2 years we've known we need better LBs and we havent done much. No offense to Boley and Sintim, but they werent the whole solution.

no we didn't, we never make a lot of moves.

we got Boley and Canty, that's really not that much when you look at what other teams are doing....like the Jets.

yea but i didn't really like those moves. We empty out the account for Rocky Benard, Canty, and Boley?

I mean i dunno, i just don't get it... they Boley signing alrite i'll live with and possibly the Canty contract too, but i think we overpaid on canty...

benard should of been cheaper as well

not to mention i hated the fact that we left MJ as our other starting saftey... i was *****ing about it last season too..

but then again i was also *****ing about the WR core... but hey can't be right all the time [;)]

I dunno, i just really like how Jets have gone about their team since they drafted Mangold...

Gholsten was an awful pick, didn't like that one either

yea the Rolle signing was great...

but ya know there never any like value moves. And its boggling, like how could we not be on that Ernie Simms for a 5th rounder thing ya know? Like that just baffles me.

Or even last year with that MLB the Eagles got, why were we not in talks with them on it too ya know?

we should have gotten Briggs when we had a chance, if we don't get a good LB, early this year in the draft I'll be disappointed, we've known this was a problem area for years now.

i agree...

i mean im fine with letting Clark/Goff/Sintim eventually fight for that OLB spot, but i mean i want somebody that is going to be our guy in the middle for years to come...

i also hate how like we'll sit back and draft a guy like Kiwinuka because its a value pick even tho we have 3 stud DEs, but we won't omve up last year when Mualuga falls. We knew Piece didn't hav emuch longer and Rey could of played OLB, infact i think he was with Cincty. Or like trading these late picks for young proven vets who u may have to roll the dice on.

Yea it's hard to se whos to blame....it's not just Reese....we're supposed to have league scouts who are suposed to find the valuable signings like that....
And you know it hasnt been working because we overpaid for Bernard and absoultely overpaid for Canty....stop fishing names, and start fishing talent.

My opinion is we did not go after Sims is he is a OLB, and we are in need for a MLB. I think the Giants are happy with Boley and Sintim.

As for last season the eagles picked up Will Witherspoon, which I thought was a good pickup. The Giants are just staying under the radar this off-season. We got Rolle & Grant. I think the Giants will make some moves in the draft.
