whatever happened to the Cubs, man....they were supposed to be the next big thing.....for like 3-4 years now lol.....</P>

falling apart so badly that they move their best pitcher to the bullpen? what's Zambo get? like 17 mill a year? HA! wtf is wrong with this team?</P>

same old cubs. For the past 4 seasons espn or any other wannabe baseball experts has the Cubs always going to the World Series. You would think that they would be tired of being wrong</P>

I do like their pitching...i really do....but their bats are less than desirable.
yea youre right...for like 2-3 seasons it was "Cubs/Tigers WS!! Guaranteed!!"</P>

The only pitchers I find respectable on that team is Zambrano, Dempster, Marmol

They had HArden last year too, hes really declined...

When Lilly is healthy he is pretty good, especially for the NL

Randy Woods ain't bad either
Isnít Harden on the Rangers? Lilly is ok (former yankee) Don't know much on woods

i like woods alot... yea but they had him like last year or the year before... he was legit when he was in Zona or wherever he was, just been on a steady decline

EDIT: I meant to say Wells not Woods
ever since Harden left the A's he has declined rapidly.

lol i'm off my game today, i meant oak and not Zona

the giants got me preoccupied... i have no clue what we do today
I think everyone has the Draft in mind</P>

Me too.</P>

I've changed my prediction. I'm still hoping for Earl Thomas but I have a feeling its going to be JPP.</P>

Earl Thomas?! stoppp itttt
</P>

By that do you mean you think its a bad move, or do you think he won't be there at 15?</P>

I think he's a top 5 talent in this draft. Instinctive ball hawks like Thomas can transform a defense.</P>

after signing Rolle and Grant and we still have KP, not a shot we draft a saftey
</P>

If we make a deal for Morrison, I can see us going BPA. And if Earl Thomas is there at 15, he will be by far the BPA.</P>

I just don't see McClain being there at 15. If he is, we will surely take him.</P>

so then what of Bradford falls to 15? should we take him too?

not gonna happen.. its one of thos positions where we're not gonna touch...

the long shot positions could be CB, OL, or DT

not saftey tho
</P>

Why are you being such a ****head?</P>

I think if McClain goes before our pick, we will possibly look to make a deal for Morrison. CB is NOT a need for us. O-line may be but we have Beatty probably going to LT this year and Dheil moving back inside. We would be better to address that need later in the draft.</P>

Tackle could be too but we do have Canty, Alford and Cofield (he will eventually sign his tender).</P>

IF the FO doesn't like the KP prognosis, Thomas would be a great pick. Plus the kid can play nickel his first year. I admit we have bigger needs, but we are essentially solid everywhere except MLB. Any pick other than that would not address a strong immediate need.</P>

Thomas is a game changer....and that kind of guy doesn't grow on trees.</P>

Yea but, MH....what if we do go safety, even if KP doesnt play most of this year, and now we are safety heavy...?

all of our corners have been banged up, Ross is banged up every year, and Thomas is hit or miss.

yea but with all the LBs who went in the first round, and the GOOD ones who slid to the 2nd, I really thought we'd capitalize. b/c there were WRs who went in the 2nd too.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Last year Nicks was by far the consensus choice for us. The year before KP was the consensus and the year before that Ross was the consensus.</P>

The last surprise was Kiwi (we traded down and then picked his so it was hard to predict)</P>

This year it will certainly be McClain if he's there at 15. The real question is who will it be in the likely case that he's not there.</P>

It was either going to be Nicks or Britt. The consensus here was Nicks. It was certainly the consensus in the Morehead house. I thought he was the best WR in the draft and still do.</P>

I didn't like the KP pick at the time but on the Giants MB he was the overwealming predicted choice.</P>

And we all knew in 07 that we were going to take the best corner available to us. The only question was when Leon Hall was falling and almost fell to us before Cincy picked him.</P>

My prediction is JPP. But he's not who I would choose.</P>

kinda funny....we all kinda felt we were in the same boat last year. "yea we're gonna go LB!!" then we took Nicks...not that anyone minded really, but it was kinda 2nd on the needs list....
Sooooo never know!!!!!</p>

</p>

The real question is who will it be in the likely case that he's not there.</p>

well thats not true, there was alot of talks about a LB in the first too
</p>

But he's not who I would choose.</p>

there was plenty of talks about getting Mualuga in the first...

whats with you today?

when i was working at this bar, they fired the manager for some bull**** (she was a friend of mine, got me the job, known her my whole life). They brought in this little ****in twerp who may of been the biggest ******bag i've ever met in my life. He came in like a week after he came the job right before closing and was wasted.

Long story short me and him got into it, he was removed from the premisis, i knew i was done so i took a bottle of goose and some severence pay and just left the bar a mess...

nah, in this buisness dude, people will sit with you for hours upon hours going over fabrics different wood species, stains. and theyll go and buy from raymore and ***s. same in the kitchen end. afters hours of precise planning some people will take the free kitchen/bath floor plan i made and spent hours on and go to home depot. well......i just made homedepots job a whole lot easier cause all they have to do is give you their price. its dishearting

McClain will be gone, Earl Thomas will be gone (and probably to Philly) Spiller will be gone. JPP may not be an option if we can't move Osi. Who the frick is left? Maybe Matt's right, maybe Haden would be the BPA. And he may not be there.</P>

Personally I think Osi will bust his *** because he has something to prove. something he hasnt worried about much since he played behind strahan. thats just me.</P>

</P>

I'm way down on Osi. I've believed he's been overrated for years. His claim to fame is abusing a rookie tackle on that 6 sack game.</P>

He takes plays off, overpursues and is vulnerable to misdirection, has horrible lane discipline, andwhines like a schoolgirl.</P>

TOTALLY true, but i'd still rather have him than a 5th round pick
</P>

ok, I understand if ppl think he's overrated. but look at the alternatives...so many teams dont even have good DEs. Pass rushers, run defense...anything...so I mean, we have it pretty good here in NY....</P>

someone would move up for Thomas
</P>

No way we pass on Thomas if he's there.</P>

NO WAY!!!!!</P>

yes we would... we're not drafting a saftey after making Rolle the highest paid Saftey in the league and signing Grant... not gonna happen
</P>

Grant is a Sammy Knight type.* he's just a veteran presence that we lacked last year.</P>

I can see one scenario though.* I can see us trading up 5 or 6 spots to get McClain.* Our pick and Osi might be enough.</P>

Are you also forgetting about KP?

as much as* i dislike Osi and his bs, i would not like that deal for us
</P>

I said our pick and Osi for the chance to draft McClain.* We would not trade up for Thomas.* </P>

I have a bad feeling about KP's health.* When the word "degenerative" is used to describe the knee of a 25 year old athlete, it scares the heck out of me.</P>

If we pick Earl Thomas at 15, your phone will ring immediately.* Don't even bother looking to see who's calling.</P>

K.P is 23 years old =)</P>

That doesn't make me feel any better.</P>

I love the kid.* He was on his way to be another Ed Reed.</P>

Maybe he will make a great comeback.* I just have my doubts.</P>

I think it scares us all. To be soo young and have this problem is scary.

false. We have needs and other possible needs... your tlaking about drafting a position in which we just signed a big time FA to play anbd just drafted first round 2 years ago. Also signed a vet and kept our starter from last year.

Nobody is challanging Phillips (if healthy) and Rolle to start...

getting a CB, OL, DT, OLB, MLB, and RB are all positions that could be drafted first round because those positions are set in stone....

well its very simple why we're not going Saftey in this draft, regardless of whose there:

If you use a first rounder 2 years after u drafted Phillips in the first and give a FA a record breaking contract... that means u gave up on Phillips

Giants are not giving up on Phillips, bottom line
</P>

Guess what? Antrell Rolle is a free safety, just like KP. The Fewell defense is based on stopping the pass. Guys who can cover, guys who make plays in the passing game are what we will be looking for.</P>

Earl Thomas is about the top guy in the draft to fit <U>that </U>bill.</P>

its well known that our saftey position is interchangeable..

keep stretching, never gonna happen old man
</P>

How do you know. This will be a completely new defense this year. I'm not sure if our press corners will be of any use.</P>

in any aggressive 4-3 defense the safties are usually interchangeable..

These guys just traded for a HOF QB and signed Larry Johnson to carry the rock. Not to mention bringing in a HOF head coach.</p>

They are going to be tough this year.</p>no doubt theyll be stingy . but lj can blow me. other then those 2 years hes been ****. what was it 04 05? and in the nfl thats was a loooong time ago. not to mention he had over 300 attempts both years. we own portis. their oline isnt that great. theyre all D

ur right, it ha dnothing to do with getting injured one year, suspended one year, and the full year he played them losing their entire line in the offseason while not having a QB

it was LJ sucking
uh huh, your missing excuses for the other 3 years. whyd cincy drop him?
portis and lj shouldnt and wont scare anyone. congrats to the skins. they have the slowest running game in the league

actually no im not. His monster years were 05 and 06

07 he got injured

08 he lost his whole offensive line

09 line still sucked, got suspended, n got released

He was only signed for a one year deal to back up Benson if he went down. The contract was over and he left.

Also saw last night how the guy from the Braves hit the walk off HR and then everyone ran into the clubhouse. It was too funny, you round 3rd waiting for everyone to be at home plate and the dug out is empty. Me and my wife were cracking up. The look on his face was priceless.

This is the craziest draft. Normally I would have a decent idea what we will do, or at least what we should do. Then I would go "All Morehead" on all your asses and make fun of any of you who disagree with me. Its really the reason you all love me so much.</P>

But I have no friggin idea whats going to happen with us tonight. I can make a case for about 10 different scenarios. hell, we could still take Spoon at 15.</P>

Does this make me less loveable?</P>

</P>

na i agree we have so many different way sit can play out

odds are we draft and offensive guard, the least excirting draft ever since we're so hyped about it

but na we'd trade down if we were gonna snag spoon
</P>

I can see a tackle at 15, but I just can't see a guard.</P>

Its gotta be defense in the first round for us. (unless Spiller falls and McClain is gone)</P>

We can't give up all those points last year and draft a guard this year in round 1. (unless theres another John Hannah out there) That wouldn't make sense.</P>

it was a joke moorehead, we have as much of a reason to go after a guard as we do a saftey

just making a joke saying we're all expecting a top notch guy or some type of move and we'll prolly just have a quiet boring draft
</P>

They were talking about us taking Mike Iupati last night on NFL network.</P>

But the joke did go right over my head.</P>

I have a full binder of MJ bball cards, i found some old Mantle cards, all my cased subset cards that were worth some $ back in the 90s. cool stuff. i need to go pick up a beckett this weekend and get some pricing.</P>

Wow sounds like you got yourself some nice stuff there.</P>

I would be willing to part with some of the Hughey cards for any MJ early years card(s) and any extra Jeters, because well, you know...........</P>

Hey, thanks for your well wishes when I got back. Forgot to say something...

Also saw last night how the guy from the Braves hit the walk off HR and then everyone ran into the clubhouse. It was too funny, you round 3rd waiting for everyone to be at home plate and the dug out is empty. Me and my wife were cracking up. The look on his face was priceless.
I didnt see this. I was too busy watching Satan score the game winning goal last night.[:D]</P>

I really should be watching, but the game of baseball has become less and less interesting to me over the last few years.</P>

Me to, it is not very interesting. But it was the #1 play on the Top 10 last night. Plus I usually pay attention to the Braves for you...lol
And i thank you for doing so...</P>

I went to a show last weekend just to see what Heyward rookies were selling for, and they were like 3 times book value already. So i did the only logical thing- i picked up 30 Phil Hughes rookies at 10 cents on the dollar.....lol.</P>

</P>

You can have some of the MJs. I mean by no means are they like...elite sets...like BS early 90s stuff. They always overpriced the 80s stuff when I was kid, even when he was playing. Over book value. I'll come back later and post some of them years, set etc. Nothing too impressive. My thing back then was finding all the rares. the special sets or whatever, and just pray they werent too expensive =P</P>

I have to makesure that I don't hit "Mom" instead of "Matt" on my cell phone tonight.
God only knows what he will say on this one. lol

lol i'll be nice
Your getting soft on us Matt.</p>

I figured you woulda said something like-"How can you screw up Mom vs Daddy" ? lol.</p>

Carry on.</p>

i feel like mooreheads made a fool of himself enough today by saying we're gonna draft a saftey, i didn' twant to pile on
</p>

A couple guys on Sirius NFL had us taking earl Thomas in their Mock drafts last weekend.</p>

If he is there, and McClain isn't, we will take him.</p>

Morehead has spoken.</p>

Have you changed your stance on betting??</p>

I don't bet. But how could you pass on a top 5 player in this draft if he's there at 15?</p>

If the G-men are looking for insurance for KP, i think they wont waste such a valuable pick to do so. They could move back a few spots, gain some picks, and still get some talent in the second or early third...just my op.</p>

Or they could listen to me and go LB or OL with the pick..</p>

</p>

Geez Pats, you're just like Matt. You can't just "trade back". You need a partner who wants a player that they can't get unless they move up to 15. I don't know who that would be.</p>

By the way...if we don't draft Spoon at 15, you guys very well may at 22. (or is it 21?)</p>

you act like its the most ridiculous thing to happen. Its common, it happens EVERY year. If all of our guys are gone and Thomas is there, somebody will be willing to trade up for him

Phil Hughes? lol That is MMB's fav!
