not following you right there are you saying hes not good? this is a prime example of what you do. lmao. your ****ting on hughes to make your point on how good jobas slider is which has to do with what again??? lol when were we comparing sliders? or any pitches? what was jobas era this time last year?

lol the only thing thats ridiculous are hughes' numbers and your inability to eat crow

im not ****ting on hughes. How is me saying that Joba has sick **** too ****ting on hughes? Does he put it in ur butt or something and tell u he loves you?

Your so defensive. Your argument was that Hughes has sick stuff and insinuated that Joba didn't. I am disputing that.

It has nothing to do with comparing sliders it has to do with their stuff overall. When you have a guy like Posada saying you have the best slider hes ever caught, then i think its safe to say that whoever hes talking baout definitly has some serious stuff.

Joba had a 3.13 era after april...

Hughes is being sick, no crow gets served in april, ESPECIALLY if your still ginvg Vaz a chance lol

So is it official? Hughes is set in stone legit and will be a dominant pitcher for the rest of his career, is this what your saying?

This is slowely becoming a JB Giants/Daven argument. Why don'y you both just get a friggin room and be done with it.

Gardner > Melky....no question...

Gardner covering more ground = melky's arm....so it's a push...

BUT since Melky doesnt have anything else to offer, the choice is clear...

Melky is already a distant memory.

I call you April babies, cuz ur all fools

no point in engaging in convos with those living and dying by each game in april

(unless its to talk up one of their guys that they love to blow up)

Thx Lil Wayne...

seeing as how we were talking these guys up BEFORE THE SEASON...and we are right...I think it's perfect!
What I can't figure out, is why you love Melky so much. In our consistent roster last year, he was pretty much the most unproven player, never did much of anything...ppl just liked him. He's pretty much lucky that Nady spent the year on the DL, as well as Gardner spending some time....cuz Mely was the weakest link. And coming from me, that should mean something, because I despise Swisher. lol

Melky started the year on the bench true.. but then once Gardener came back he still was playing... trueeee

lol im glad u've just considered urself right after april... like i said previously i'll give u credit if in July its still like this... u guys are blowing gardener way too hard tho.

Hughes had over a 5.00 era i nstarts for 2 years before this year and u guys called him proven... so please just define for me what proven is cuz u have me really confused

i know you dont HATE either of the guys....but you did use both of them as obvious reasons to keep the other guys in question.

Listen...even if Hughes DIDN'T have crazy production in his first month, I'd still go with him over Joba. Joba is so overrated. He's got 1 money pitch, and he lost his velocity making his best 2 pitches not nearly as good as his rookie year. Hughes has more upside. Joba more downside.
What's funny is that everyone NOT in NY knows what you refuse to believe...."Joba Chamberlain? Yea i know the name...that guy kinda sucks"
I dont hate him. I'm sure he's a really nice guy lol. But he's overrated....

hes not good enough to be an every day starter, hence why hes not... u ever notice when lefties are pitching hes got the day off?

not being able to bat vs lefties would be a major glitch in somebodys game.

The fact is with joba that he didn't have that great of year last year, ur right, but compared to his peers he was one of the best at his spot at the backends of rotations. And personally i would of liked to see what he would of done once they popped the tit out of his mouth after force feeding him it for two years.

And how is he overrated as an 8th inning guy? Should he not be the 8th inning guy?

Ahhh, we'll see, I think we're seeing Floyd's fighting style evolve a bit....if he fight's paquiao, I think he's going to have to go toe-to-toe for the majority of the fight, we've seen that Pacquiao is capable of going on the offensive for 8-10

PAc leaves himself open too much... it will be more of the same. Slow start for May take his shots when they are there, then as the fight goes on, May gets stronger and starts to slow Pac down with shots that are wide open, then thats that...

training wheels on Melky? no not a chance....one season removed from being sent down to the minors? I never said any of that stuff....I DID say it about Gardner though. About how they were(and still do) dont let him hit against lefties, so he's at a disadvantage since he's being prevented from getting better. Althought, despite that, he still performs. Maybe I never mentioned it on these forums, but i couldnt wait for Gardner's REAL SHOT....I said, let him play it out like they did with Melky...he'll learn, and if not, you bench him till he does learn. Well I think Gardner works with it better than him...so thats all...

I just don't think I can keep comparing the 2....Kobe's teammates would destroy Lebron's in a pickup game. You put Lebron on the Lakers and you might as well not even bother playing the post season.

I will say that Lebron is being a little ***** about his elbow though....I truly think there is nothing wrong with his elbow. I think it's a gimmick to remove some of the pressure and to get his team to play harder this post season.

More on punters Matt Dodge and Jy Bond (http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2010/05/more_on_matt_dodge_and_jy_bond.html)

Skip Holtz learned quickly that Matt Dodge
is different from many of the punters and kickers he’s been around in
his career.

Like when Dodge -- both a punter and kickoff specialist for East
Carolina -- would charge downfield, seeking contact, after he kicked off
the ball. He was supposed to be the safety for the coverage unit, but
sometimes the team had to remind him to stay back around the 30-yard
line.

“I used to love it when the (returner) would break through everything
else because the hardest hit was probably going to come from the
punter,” said Holtz, the former East Carolina and current South Florida
coach. “Most people say, ‘You have to make the punter miss.’ I used to
enjoy it because some of the hardest hits on our kickoff team were from
Matt.”

Kickoffs will be something the Giants said they’ll phase in later
this spring with their seventh-round pick – but their immediate focus,
at this weekend’s rookie mini-camp and in the coming weeks, is on
punting. After losing 22-year veteran Jeff
Feagles to retirement Friday, the Giants have a void at the
position they’ll look to fill with Dodge or former Australian rules
football player Jy Bond.

At 6-1, 224 pounds, Dodge is larger and stronger than the average
punter – “a punter in a weightlifter’s body,” Holtz said. In fact, Dodge
is a bodybuilding enthusiast, dating back to his junior year of high
school. At East Carolina, Holtz remembers him kicking for an
hour-and-a-half before practice, kicking during practice and then
heading to the weight room afterward.

A transfer from the 2005 Appalachian State FCS national championship
team, Dodge bulked up to as high as 240 pounds after his sophomore year
at East Carolina – but realized he lost flexibility in the process. He
has been at around 220 since and also continually works on his
flexibility.

“I’m always just working on overall consistency,” Dodge said. “I know
from college to the pros, you’ve got to get the ball off a lot quicker.
That will be something I work on. Just minor things, nothing I’m going
to change up completely since they obviously have you here. But I’m
going to ask these coaches all kinds of questions.”

One of those questions, which Dodge asked Friday, was whether or not
they Giants are married to the directional punting approach Feagles had
mastered so well. The answer was yes, that’s the preferred approach, but
not until the punters have shown comfort and consistency in their own
technique.

“The big thing for these young guys will be to hang the distance,”
special teams coordinator Tom Quinn said. “We don’t
want a 55-yard punt with 4.1 hang. That is very tough to cover. So we
will get the hang, the distance consistent and then we will start
working direction when it is the appropriate time.”

Dodge said in college he mostly boomed punts down the middle of the
field, but did do some directional kicking and believes he can master it
with repetition. Bond can hit spiral punts but relies on the
end-over-end kicks adopted from Australian rules football.

Bond first encountered the idea of punting in American football about
five years ago when his stepbrother was playing baseball at a college
in Texas. The school’s football coach saw Bond kicking a football around
and suggested he come play college football.

But Bond didn’t seriously consider American football until about two
years ago, when he started working with Eagles punter Sav Rocca.
Quinn said Bond has also worked with Darren Bennett,
who paved the Aussie path to the NFL.

“In Australian rules, you’ve got to hit a target, so it’s not
necessarily standing and punting,” Bond said, when asked if he can pick
up the directional approach. “We’ve got to hit guys running around, so
it’s left and right and all of that. It’s often changing directions.”

Quinn said Bond has a “very strong leg” and “can be a factor” in the
punting competition, but acknowledged the adjustment period to American
football.

“We were laughing today on the sideline, because he’s helping the
defense out as a receiver,” Quinn said. “And they are trying to set him
in motion, and (defensive coordinator) Perry (Fewell) is yelling at him,
and he is looking like, ‘What do you mean?’ So everything will be a
process with him.”

Whichever player wins the competition may also be used as the holder
for field goals, a role Feagles previously held. Quinn and kicker Lawrence
Tynes like the idea of using a punter – though backup
quarterback Jim Sorgi has been in the mix – because
they can spend more practice time working on the snap-hold-kick
operation.

Dodge said he did not hold in college but did at the Senior Bowl. The
kicker was 2-for-2 and made all his extra points. As far as the punting
competition goes, Dodge said he doesn’t feel like he has an advantage
as the draft pick.

“Absolutely not -- they flew him from Australia,” Dodge said of Bond.
“I watched him kick some today, and I was like, ‘OK, I’ve got to buckle
down.’ We were kicking inside, and the ball just jumps off his foot. I
haven’t seen that in a while.”

Should he not be the 8th inning guy?

ugh..dude listen....

I know its early...but even if Hughes has a BEAST season, youll find some way to say who cares, or Joba woulda killed it if he started "without the titty in his mouth"....i know you...we know you too well!
If you wanna do the Joba debate over and over, thats fine....but the Melky one you CANNOT win....because Melky was never productive. He got us some walks offs last year...but ****...whoDIDN'T get us a walkoff last year....lol.
I like Melky, but Gardner is the man...and WAS the man...its a win win

don't assume things, u make an *** out of u and me

Im just saying that u guys were ****in waving ur Hughes flags before this season when hes had bad numbers as a starter and uwere telling me he was proven. Then he had two good starts and the deep throating really began. Now that hes had a great month its like well its official, hes the truth...

im just a realist....many have come in gone from april to may... i hope ur right and he is the end all be all, but im just not hopping on board til i see it done for a whole year.

Weren't you with me on the mlky thing like a week ago? ALL of you use to flip out about how they babied him and how it was BS. They groomed him for this year, then they don't even give him the shot to go at it with the training wheels off? thats annoying.

And before the Vaz trade, i was under the impression that both Joba AND hughes were going to be in the rotation, so lets not act like i was hating him as much as u pretend i was
people were comparing him to roger clemens when he first came up. he didnt just come out of no where.stats lie sometimes. if you have watched him a good amount over the past 2 years, you know hes got amazing stuff. and im sure you dont hate him, but to make your point youll throw him under the bus. you did it with the dline vs mlb argument too.

i love ya suuuuga

I appreciate all that he has done for our glorious franchise, but he must now go.

Hitting .150 in May, and tonight making 6 outs in 4 at bats. When he came up in the 8th with the bases loaded and no outs and the score tied at 1-1, I was wishing for him to strike out. Because the only alternative was to hit into a double play. Which is exactly what he did on a fat 2-0 fastball down the middle.

Mike Lowell must be our permanent DH. I have proclaimed it. And since Tito has always taken my advice before....I expect it.

sorry that i don't give passes for getting top flight pitchers from teams that can't afford to pay them and u give up peanuts... its just a more slippery way to buy ur team. The deals weren't getting done unless there were new contracts in which they paid those players very well...

Those handsome green get-ups you see above are what
the Philadelphia Eagles (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/phi/)

this one.

It's part of the Eagles' effort to commemorate the

he pumbles people and if u look at any of his fights hes beaten people to barely being able to throw punches while he throws significantly less.

to bring up a boxer from 1948 and try to use it in ur argument is whtas laughable...

he gets in a grove for the whole fight lol... last time i checked the only person who u think is worthy is pacquio and it wasn't Mayweather who was backing out of that fight...

and lets be honest about boxing of old, it was a more glorified sport back in the day where these guys were considered superstars because the public loved the sport. That just isn't the case today.

When it comes to the main sports i always have a hard time believe that past greats could keep up with with the game as it is today, with boxing its different because its more man on man, but the strength and speed of everybody today is overall faster than it was back then....

what if all the jobbers that these guys beat up on back in the day were GARBAGE. More garbage than the talent that MAyweather suppose beats up on? The truth is maybe YOU bought into the hype, especially because most of these boxers names ur throwing up at me, u never even seen

a years gap? So what

just admit that theres a real possibility that the only reason these boxers of the past are so heralded is because people loved the sport at the ttime and amped it up. Your naming names of people you never even saw and could truly judge for yourself. Your letting a bunch of mooreheads tell u that bird was better than jordan.

Your right it owuldn't happen vs floyd, Floyd would just beat him 10 out of 12 rounds and dominate the match like he always does.

If you consider Mayweather dominating every match hes been in as failing miserably, then allllrighty then

Totally agree. We have 3 dope receivers, lots of potential down the line and Bossman

Will Sinorice make the team?
haha....good question, I think he'll probably end up making it again for some reason or another I'm really anxious to see how crisp Nicks looks with a year under his belt, and how hard Manningham has worked on his deep routes, keeping his 3 yards from the sidelines until he makes his breaks on the ball....that really hurt him last year

cause hes neither. did you know theres currently 5 other undefeated boxers? all with more knockouts then mayweather.

Mayweather is not even in the top 15 best of all time

if he stays undefeated he'll go down as Goat..

if he wasn't a complete ***** personality wise he'd be the Tiger (pre scandle) of boxing

You think he will be better then Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali,
Joe Louis?

I don't care if he goes undefeated; I look at it like this.

What is his competition?

well who was Sugar Rays competition?

How was the level of competition at that time? I mean in reality the sport was just popular so isn't it quite possible that peoples names were just bigger and hence get more respect?

I mean whose to say if they could of kept up in todays world...

Its damn near impossible to determine. The level of dominance Mays showed is whats impressive....

He has 41 wins or something like that with 25 knock outs? And with those 16 decisions i would love to know his record on the rounds. How many he won and lost...Hatton, Hoya, Marquez, and Mosley were all killings
and all of them were old except hatton and hoya put up a good fight.

lol marquez.......please stop

whoa whoa whoa..

weren't u the one blowing Pacquio? didn't marquez take pacquio to the brink twice?
there was over a years gap between marquez last fight before he faught floyd matt. come on man.

when was i blowing pacman?
even if he took pacman to the brink twice, its the fighting styles. both styles made it a slug fest. this wont happen against floyd.

just admitt his competition hasnt been good. cause it hasnt.

and whys it rediculous comparing him to rocky(even though i didnt, i just said i googled the 5 undefeated fighters and thats all that came up) when floyds claiming hes the best???imputting that statement to the test, and hes failing miserably

a years gap? So what

just admit that theres a real possibility that the only reason these boxers of the past are so heralded is because people loved the sport at the ttime and amped it up. Your naming names of people you never even saw and could truly judge for yourself. Your letting a bunch of mooreheads tell u that bird was better than jordan.

Your right it owuldn't happen vs floyd, Floyd would just beat him 10 out of 12 rounds and dominate the match like he always does.

If you consider Mayweather dominating every match hes been in as failing miserably, then allllrighty then
"a year gap? so what". i dont even know where to start with that comment. thats an eternity out of the ring. if he makes it out of the first 6 he wont have legs to stand on. which is exactly what happened.

are you seriously not seeing a pattern here? all the fighters you mention are over the hill.
and dont know what your talking about. i watch A LOT of the old fighters. youtube them you assuming son ofa *****[:)]. whenever the old fights are on tv i watch them. im big into it. and no matt those fighters arent the best because they were overhyped. theyre some of the best cause they faced some of the best and they didnt duck opponents until they were out of their prime. champions would fight at least 3-4 times a year, not to mention 15 rounds.

Yessir, that is correct. That's why Floyd chose that fight for his comeback, he thought it would be a legitamate tough fight.

Everyone is dogging on Mayweather like he hasn't fought anyone....de la hoya, Marquez AND Mosley who just defeated Margarito, who was much stronger even without the plaster in his gloves. Pacqjiao is worried about drawing blood because he thinks he'll be weak....They take 1 vial of blood for the drugtest not a whole ****in quart....do it right before u go to sleep and you'll sleep like a baby

yea and his answer was because that was their fighting styles. But because Mayweathers style isn't going for the knock out every round, he knocks him for it..

as usual, many flaws in dezz bryants argument (yes thats why his alias is dez)

haha....good question, I think he'll probably end up making it again for some reason or another I'm really anxious to see how crisp Nicks looks with a year under his belt, and how hard Manningham has worked on his deep routes, keeping his 3 yards from the sidelines until he makes his breaks on the ball....that really hurt him last year

lol ill give the d a little leeway this year. anything less then top 10 is unacceptable.

Cotto just lost two fights in the past two years and got EMBARRESSED by Pac... ur considering him one of the best? I'd say his past 4 fights whether u want to admit it or not are against 4 of the top fighters around at the time. Cotto is there with them but i'd hardly say he was better than any of them.

He just got EMBARRESSED by PAc and not to mention the next fight was suppose to be vs pac and Cotto made that deal for the fight at yankee stadium

We went from dominant to absolute **** overnight it seemed. And every expert in the biz says our draft was literally ranked the worst. I can't justify anything we've done since the Rolle signing....I hope KP is back, and our O-line is on the hot seat as far as im concerned

This breaks my heart man...I can't imagine

Sherry Qualls' husband, Bobby, tried to save the couple's daughter,
Kylie, from chest-deep water in a rushing creek in their back yard.Bobby
Qualls had earlier managed to take his son to higher ground, but by the
time he tried to rescue his daughter, the water had already risen
substantially. Kylie was hugging a tree to keep from being swept away.Sherry
Qualls said it was the last time she saw both her husband and daughter
alive.

"From his neck up, he was staring at me. He didn't say
anything, just staring at me. She was screaming for her daddy to help
her, and then by the time the rescue squad got her, I didn't see them
anymore. I didn't see them float away," she said.

He just got EMBARRESSED by PAc and not to mention the next fight was suppose to be vs pac and Cotto made that deal for the fight at yankee stadium
omg no im not considering him the best AT ALL. but he when he was coming up he was looking pretty good and their was lots of hype around him. put it like this if mayweather was ali, he would of went after cotto to make the fight happen. thats what im talking about. if mayweather isnt 100% sure he can win, he wont schedule the fight.

ur the one tha tbrought him up and if ur not considering him one of the best then that would prolly be why it hasn't been considered, no? If hes not one of the best why would he fight him, you make no sense

thats not the point. just because he not the best doesnt mean hes not a great fighter. he was one of the best in his class coming up. i agree i think he would of beat cotto. but he made no effort to schedule it..........he should of fought all of his last 4 fights at least 5 years ago when all of them were in their prime.

but i just dont get ur knock... he was in negotiations with pac and they failed, Cotto was doing the yankee stadium thing, there was no way he could of got cotto cuz the timing was wrong. Plus he was going for the better fighter. And why would May fight him right afte rPac whooped up on him.

Its like ur just naming a name and saying well why not him
im saying he should of scheduled it a few years ago.....as with all of his recent fights. cottos been around a few years now....lets agree to disagree. but hes not the best ever. look at robinsons stats. almost 3 times as many knockouts then mayweathers wins, ya cant touch that. no one will.

okay but i would say that the level competition back then wasn't as legit as it was today...

but back to the cotto thing, i think he and Pac were battling for like a #1 contender type spot, he lost. I dont think he deserved a shot at the champ if he loses that fight to pac which he did

girardi almost blew it again last night...... in the 7th they showed ajs face on a loooong pop up to center for the last out of the inning . he looked like he was going to **** himself. he looked pissed when girardi took him out too.

who has mayweather ducked? You keep saying hes ducked people or isn't fighting the best out there.
ughh. you again.................
matt.. i must of said this 4 times. any fighter with a big name hes faced was washed up. why hasnt he fought cotto? dont even think they entertained the idea.....

my main point in this whole debate is hes not the best. not even the best of our generation.* id say calzaghe is. ever herd of him?
its all marketing bull****. he talks mad ****, yea he backs it up, but against no one impressive.

Cotto just lost two fights in the past two years and got EMBARRESSED by Pac... ur considering him one of the best?* I'd say his past 4 fights whether u want to admit it or not are against 4 of the top fighters around at the time. Cotto is there with them but i'd hardly say he was better than any of them.

He just got EMBARRESSED by PAc and not to mention the next fight was suppose to be vs pac and Cotto made that deal for the fight at yankee stadium
omg no im not considering him the best AT ALL. but he when he was coming up he was looking pretty good and their was lots of hype around him. put it like this if mayweather was ali, he would of went after cotto to make the fight happen. thats what im talking about. if mayweather isnt 100% sure he can win, he wont schedule the fight.

ur the one tha tbrought him up and if ur not considering him one of the best then that would prolly be why it hasn't been considered, no? If hes not one of the best why would he fight him, you make no sense

he had 8 rounds vs Oscar technically but if u watched the fight it wasn't even that close..

I have heard that story so many times. Never understood why woman hang out with boys like that. See how I emphasized boy’s lol You’re a good looking girl find it puzzling that u have dated idiots

well #1 i was younger... and stupid.. naturally im attracted to the bad boy image soo when that happens they usually end up being *******s lol but as your get older and mature you start seeing things a different way, obviously your outlook on men changes.... same goes for guys.. the hot blonde with huge tits but dumb as a door knob is great when your 21, not so great when yout 25

I know what you mean with when you are younger you make mistakes, I know I have made my fair share lol But as we get older we get wiser.

Me personally I don’t settle, I would rather be single then with someone just for the sake of being with someone. Also being a father you have to pick wisely who you involve yourself with. I can't just bring home some dope and introduce her to my son lol

I like girls smaller than me(thats pretty easy) hair color doesnt matter, I'm a sucker for pretty eyes, and smile....and a girl who can laugh as much as I do is a necessity. lol. like i said, i dont have a type...nothing i look for specifically physically. My girl now has no rack, and not much of a butt....she's tiny. great body, but she doesnt have "the curves" everyone mentions. doesnt matter to me though.
