Sounds a little harsh.
When he came out of HS into the NBA in a time when Alvin Iverson was featured I really thought that Lebron was a dead kid walking.
I was sure the money and NBA attitude would ruin him.
I was wrong, he showed up, kept his head screwed on straight, played hard, had success in Cleveland where it really needed it and supported his city and put his money where it counted, back into the community.
When they set up that deal so they would all be free agents at the same time it was probably more of a joke than reality, who knew if they would both stay healthy and stay on the top of their games.
He made a move that he earned and took less money to go and get the championship that he wants.
Selfish, yes, but it's his life and staying with the Cavaliers wasn't going to make him a happy man.
So lets see if the Heat is as good as it shows on paper and they all stay healthy.
Only time will tell.
But to rip him like you did was just not right.

GREENWICH, Conn., July 8, 1990 -- Michael Jordan announced
on national television he's leaving Chicago to join the Detroit Pistons.
Jordan said it was tough to bolt Chicago, where he was the most popular
athlete in many years, because he thinks he has a better chance to win a
championship if he plays with Pistons star Isiah Thomas. Jordan
said by playing together, he and Thomas "won't have the pressure of
going out and scoring 30 every night." </p>
That would have
sounded absurd, right? Well, it is no more absurd than what LeBron
James is doing. Jordan was 27 years old in 1990, slightly older than
James is now. He had never been to the NBA Finals. He had been beaten
up by the Celtics and Pistons for years. He doubted his supporting cast
was good enough.</p>
But he never doubted himself.</p>
And
it became very clear Thursday night that LeBron James does doubt
himself. James will be a champion in Miami -- if not next year, then
sometime after that. If you put James, Dwyane Wade and Chris
Bosh together and give Pat Riley five years to find the
complementary pieces, that team will win a championship.</p>
But
James does not have the heart of a champion. He does not have the
competitive fire of Jordan, the bull-headed determination of Kobe
Bryant, the quiet self-confidence of Tim Duncan, the willful
defiance of Isiah or the winning-is-everything hunger of Magic
Johnson.</p>
He is an extremely gifted player who wants the
easy way out.</p>
And how do we know this?</p>
James
said so himself.</p>
1. "You
have to do what's best for you, and what's going to make you happy."</p>
This is what's going to make him happy? Sharing a stage with
two other stars? Really?</p>
I guess that's all LeBron
is: A complementary player with superstar talent. We should have figured
this out before: He got that giant CHOSEN 1 tattoo on his back and
calls himself King James because he is desperate for reassurance.</p>
There is no greater challenge in sports getting drafted by a
godawful team, planting your flag in a city and working like crazy until
you have turned that team into a champion.</p>
LeBron James
didn't want the challenge. He wanted to play with his buddies.</p><div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">

Yea Melo's a FA next year but thats just ANOTHER season the Knicks are virtually throwing in the towel before it starts.... Kinda like the last 2 seasons so they could go after Big Baby Bron

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando Magic (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=orl) general manager Otis Smith says he is surprised James went to Miami because he thought the two-time MVP was <font color="#0000ff">"more of a competitor." He says the "great ones" do it on their own and "usually stay in one location."</font></p>
dumb comment...
the do it on their own was dumb, but i think the more of a competitor line was absolutely true.. infact i think its such a simple and perfect way to say it
the way i read itis a great one isnot a competitorif he's not doing statement 1 and 2. </p>
if he's talking strickly basketball stars than i'd have to agree, since i don't really watch.</p>
but all pro's, i think of Barry Sanders no one would of faulted him if instead of retiring he tried winning a SB with another team..</p>
or even Roy Halladay, i don't blame him at all for going to the Phillies to try to win, the dude put in 15 years with the Jays org.. </p>
my problem with Jerkfaces like Lebron/Bosh is they haven't been in the league long enough to think only of themselves.. </p>

yea exactly. Thats article that lando posted about MJ was just totally spot on.
Bosh isn't good enough to be "The Man", im telling u right now hes one of the most overrated players in the NBA. A very good player, just overrated. So it makes sense fo rhim to go play under a Wade or Lebron type player. Hes like a Gasol, he could be that second piece, altho i'd still rather hav eGasol
Lebron should just be called Prince now, cuz Wade is the King now

i don't know about overrated only because i never hear anyone saying he's anywhere close to the best.. i know he's a #2,maybe more like a 1.5but i would take CB4 over Gasol..</P>
LBJ +DWADE + CB4...2 years max on that timebomb... Bosh will be able to cope amongst the egos but the second the limelight shines toward LBJ and off of D-Wade, or vice versa, you might aswell start the countdown..</P>

Can anyone explain to me why we STILL let Joba Chamberlain pitch in any other situations than blowouts?? I mean if we have a 10 run lead, by all means, let him do whatever he wants....
I dont want to hear Girardi say "well we gotta give him the confidence to pitch in those situations".....ummm I think we are past that point dont you think. his ERA is approaching 6, which when you really think about it, means he's getting close to guaranteeing a run every inning he pitches lol....

i saw the replay of the homer.. in all fairness to JC the hitter shouldn't of even been swinging at that. unlucky break for JC imo.. i'd take JC to play on the Jays</P>

If we can tread water for another 3 weeks or so until we actually have some big league players back, I love our chances in August and September.</P>

Of course injuries would hinder a season to any team, but this is what happens in sports. Did you see any opposing fans feel bad for the Mets last season? Did anyone feel bad for us Giant fans last year? No, that is my point. Let's talk about the injuries since I am so misinformed about baseball. Martinez is known for making DL stints in his days with Cleveland, so you should have known this when he came over. Beckett has been on the DL a few times the past few seasons. Pedroia got a foul ball off his foot so that was a freak accident. I can't believe you brought Varitek into the conversation. I think we can agree he should have retired a few seasons ago. What about Youkilis? Didn’t he get hurt by tripping in the dugout?
So have fun whining about the injuries, we Yankee fans are heading into the all-star break looking good and ready to push it in the second half.
101 win season prediction still gives me a good laugh LOL

oh and i was wrong Bautista never said no to the HR derby, he was never invited.. what a crock that is</P>
dude, loading up the bases in a 1-0 game?? the writing was on the wall. that grand slam was destined to happen!
whatever.. your Yankees still suck lol</P>
and for MH.. your stupid Sox suck too.. </P>
Yes the Sox do suck, and the Jays, well they are gearing up for Golf this fall</P>
Tito has done as good a job as any manager in baseball. Now Beltre has a hammy. Its one of those seasons.</P>
If we can tread water for another 3 weeks or so until we actually have some big league players back, I love our chances in August and September.</P>
Tito has done the best he can with the Jays. You better hope for a miracle after the allstar break. Because the Yankees and Rays are pulling away in the division.</P>
Tito Francona is the manager of the Red Sox. You really should follow the game better.</P>
I am sorry I mistaken a T for a C. I am following the season very well thank you. I know your Sox are dwindling away. You say injuries, I say excuses.</P>
This is such a bull**** argument. You don't think that the loss of Martinez, Beckett, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Veritek, Buchholz etc... has any effect on the team?</P>
Do you think if you guys lost, Arod, Jeter and Sabathia, your team wouldn't suffer?</P>
Do you think if we lost Eli, Tuck and Steve Smith, our team would be just as good? Its the claim of a truly uninformed fan.</P>
I's love to have a discussion with fans (yankee or otherwise) who know what the hell they are talking about. Please study up if you want to continue with me.</P>
101 win season prediction still gives me a good laugh LOL</P>
I brought Veritek into the conversation because he was a solid back up. With Veritek out we had to go to thr street basically for a starting catcher. I can't believe I'm having to explain this to a guy who seemed like he understood the game. Its actually a bit depressing.</P>
I understand your point that Kevin Cash should have the same production as Victor Martinez. Its actually based on a very solid fundamental understanding of the game.</P>
If Eli gets hurt, there is no excuse for Jim Sorgi to not throw for 4000 yards. All players are exactly the same. Mickey Mantle was the same player as Joe Pepitone. It all makes perfect sense.</P>
No one is looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. The reasons for the Red Sox difficulties are clear. If we had a season of normal injuries, our team would be in a different place, well boo friggin hoo. But in order to have a real discussion of baseball with informed followers of the game, these factors are part of the discussion.</P>
But you stick to your uninformed smack talk. Its very life affirming.</P>
That's right, "Dark Morehead" is back.</P>

I look at Varitek as a waste of a players spot. Yeah he will give u a few homeruns, which should not be hard in Fenway. But he can't throw out anyone on the bases. There is no excuse it is the way it is. No the players behind the starters most likely won’t put the same numbers up but they better do the best they can. That is why it’s called the majors not the minors. I for one don't feel bad at all for the Sox, actually I find it amusing that a team can be riddled with injuries and they still are fighting. Good for them ;)

I am sorry I mistaken a T for a C. I am following the season very well thank you. I know your Sox are dwindling away. You say injuries, I say excuses.</P>
This is such a bull**** argument.* You don't think that the loss of Martinez, Beckett, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Veritek, Buchholz etc... has any effect on the team?</P>
Do you think if you guys lost, Arod, Jeter and Sabathia, your team wouldn't suffer?</P>
Do you think if we lost Eli, Tuck and Steve Smith, our team would be just as good?* Its the claim of a truly uninformed fan.**</P>
I's love to have a discussion with fans (yankee or otherwise) who know what the hell they are talking about.* Please study up if you want to continue with me.</P>
101 win season prediction still gives me a good laugh LOL</P>
I brought Veritek into the conversation because he was a solid back up.* With Veritek out we had to go to thr street basically for a starting catcher.* I can't believe I'm having to explain this to a guy who seemed like he understood the game.* Its actually a bit depressing.</P>
I understand your point that Kevin Cash should have the same production as Victor Martinez.* Its actually based on a very solid fundamental understanding of the game.</P>
If Eli gets hurt, there is no excuse for Jim Sorgi to not throw for 4000 yards.* All players are exactly the same.* Mickey Mantle was the same player as Joe Pepitone.* It all makes perfect sense.</P>
No one is looking for anyone to feel sorry for me.* The reasons for the Red Sox difficulties are clear.* If we had a season of normal injuries, our team would be in a different place, well boo friggin hoo.* But in order to have a real discussion of baseball with informed followers of the game, these factors are part of the discussion.</P>
But you stick to your uninformed smack talk.* Its very life affirming.</P>
That's right, *"Dark Morehead" is back.</P>
I look at Varitek as a waste of a players spot. Yeah he will give u a few homeruns, which should not be hard in Fenway. But he can't throw out anyone on the bases. There is no excuse it is the way it is. No the players behind the starters most likely won’t put the same numbers up but they better do the best they can. That is why it’s called the majors not the minors. I for one don't feel bad at all for the Sox, actually I find it amusing that a team can be riddled with injuries and they still are fighting. Good for them ;) 5 games back and fading LOL</P>
Yankees were 5 games back last year at this time.</P>
Its a long season.* And our players will come back.</P>
You are right, what happended last year again? http://i28.tinypic.com/33vkkkn.gif</P>
Last time I saw something like that was 2004.* You of all people as a Yankee fan have*should know never to count the Red Sox out.</P>
Different team my friend, that 04 sox team was a special team. But if you want to keep holding onto the 04 sox by all means go ahead. And I will be rooting for the Yankees win or lose.

I rather watch paint drywell paint drying can't sack a qb.. theres a returner on the Hamilton Ti Cats that is destined for the NFL imo.. in 2 games he's returned 2 punts and a FG attempt for TD's the kid is so smooth when he runs..
