was watching nfl live last night and they had steven jackson talking about how bad it would be for the players if they had an 18 regular game season. made great points about the wear and tear on the players as it is. saying it would be even worse for rookies.

anyway he looks like a middle linebacker. hes tremendous

So you’re saying the worst guy out of the three is the one who selected Eli has underrated, Hakeem Nicks fantasy sleeper, and NFC East champs NY Giants?

i actually do think the Eli pick is good, but i think hes just a giants fan....

Hakeem Nicks is a top 20 WR in most fantasy mags i've checked out, so hes not really a sleeper at all. The fact that he even listed him as one tells me one of two things, 1. hes just a Giants homer or 2. Hes not that knowledgeable about expectations of what players are suppose to be this year

how is McFadden a fantasy comeback, when hes never arrived?

Randy Moss isn't going to be overrated like he was last year. He'll have a better year htan last, but not as good as previous.

Early Doucet will have a decent year i think, but that whole zona offense is changing with the fact they have on QB and no Boldin. They will run the ball alot more. I dont like Doucet as breakout

how is Jake Delhomme a bust of offensive FAs? There isn't much expected of him

Jamarcus Russell remaning unsigned? Is that really a stretch

i dunno, dont like his input at all

<alternatetext></alternatetext>

If The Gulf Was A Football Stadium...

If the Gulf of Mexico - the 7th largest body of water in the world, containing approximately 660 quadrillion gallons of water (that's 660 with 15 zeros) - was represented by Cowboys Stadium in Dallas - the largest domed stadium in the world - how would the spill stack up?

In this example, the amount of oil spilled- if theGulf of Mexicowas the size ofCowboys Stadium - would be about the size of a 24 ouncecan of beer.

Cowboys stadium has an internal volume of approximately 104 million cubic feet, compared to the just over 50 cubic inches of volume in a 24-ounce can.

Just like the can, the spilled oil represents only .00000002788% of the liquid volume present in the Gulf of Mexico, although as the oil is dispersed, the amount of water affectedbecomes substantially greater.

http://classic.cnbc.com/id/38294088?slide=9

Yeah Daven, but those people really are out of work. Those businesses really are struggling and many of those lives really are ruined. Not .0000000278% ruined. 100% ruined.

Your mathamatical analysis is flawed. The human disaster is huge.

I don't get it, both here and the other forums i post in had the same reaction

In this example, the amount of oil spilled- if theGulf of Mexicowas the size ofCowboys Stadium - would be about the size of a 24 ouncecan of beer.

Cowboys stadium has an internal volume of approximately 104 million cubic feet, compared to the just over 50 cubic inches of volume in a 24-ounce can.

by the way about that stat that daven put up. oil is lighter than
water thus oil will float to the surface, this test should be redone to how many gallons of oil were
spilled and how many acres of ocean surface in the gulf THEN compare the two.

Don't get me wrong. I really don't care a lot about steroids. So many players were on it. But it does skew the records and thats a shame.

As I said yesterday, its wins and losses that matter to me. I'm just not a big landmark records guy.

He hit #599 last nightreally? yea i missed lasts nights game. yea, hell do it sunday.
Yeah he hit a opposite field homerun. He is second in rbi's in the majors too.

quietly second in the majors lol.....

nobody is talking about a-rod....600 HRs? sure you hear it once in awhile....but its pretty cool how good he has been without being in the league spotlight lol

Because his landmarks are pointless, just like Barry. The league really doesn't care.

youve been very jealous this week paaps. rough week?

Don't get me wrong. I really don't care a lot about steroids. So many players were on it. But it does skew the records and thats a shame.

As I said yesterday, its wins and losses that matter to me. I'm just not a big landmark records guy.

I mean how many of those HR's were in a Yankee uniform? Two hundred maybe?

Why would Yankee fans care how many he hit as a Mariner or Ranger?
soooo your jealous of the yanks being in first, understandable[:O]

if he was a redsock youd care, its not even that i care, its just impressive regardless, no?

so what about all the times Manny hit against Boston when he was in cleveland....or papi in Minny.....??? They were/are redsox right? So you dont care if Ortiz hits some sort of milestone while on your team. You just sound so pompous. i could care less where he hit them all. hes a yankee, and regardless of whether you personally like a-rod or no, alot of yankee fans do.
Not that you have ANY idea what im talking about since your team simply STRIVES for mediocrity. and the only milestone your players have reached is trips to the DL, or highest payroll with least production. i dont know if those are real categories though. think MLB logs that kinda stuff?

This isn't even a Boston/NY debate...it's just a baseball debate. I can't tell if you think we're stupid because we're Yankee fans who are cheering on OUR OWN PLAYERS ACCOMPLISHMENTS, or if youre saying all these feats are unimportant due to the steroid era....or what...

If you don't like A-Rod, fine....I do....I happened to like him before he was in Pinstripes too. I've always had a soft spot for the Mariners cuz Junior was my favorite baseball player ever. And so I followed A-Rod's career too.

I just really don't understand your point about not respecting it because some of his HRs were likely agaisnt the Yankees. So were Babe Ruth's I would assume. lol.....Wade Boggs? another former Sock i like who most yankees fans liked! You are right about one thing though, if A-Rod played for Boston(i just vomited at the thought), i obviously would not care as much. So if YOU dont care, i understand....but to say you think it's silly that we as Yankee fans care? That's just ridiculous to me.

Whats up 06? what are you doing hanging around the boards today?

I think even in the situational usage, JPP will probably have the more visible impact.

The guys in the trenches dont get much mention...

Wzup Pats I check the boards once in awhile on the weekends. They are ****ing addicting lol How do you feel about the Patriots this yr? When is Welker coming back? Eh, not much just hanging around here at work getting caught up on a few things,as well as working on finishing a set of this years Bowman Baseball cards, and working on adding a few Miguel Cabrera autographs to the collection before he takes the Triple Crown away from Mr. Cano....lol.

I wonder how Mr. Morehead would feel about that, seeing how Yaz was the last one...

As far as the Pats- I feel the same this time of year as i have felt for the last 40. Excited, anxious, and cant wait for the season to ****ing get here...

I think we can run with the big dogs this year. We have a ton of good young linebackers waiting to step in. I think we will be all set on offense and special teams. Wes is already back...I am hearing we wont be putting him on the reserve pup, which means the coaches feel he is pretty much ready to start the season....

My only question is on the D-Line other than the Nose Tackle spot......

How about you? how do you feel about the Giants chances this year??

I am ready for the season, last season on defense was tough to watch. But a new season and a new DC and we just added Bullock which I have been lobbying to pick up. I think this team can be great again, it's just can we stay healthy. Yeah, i saw that. Very nice pickup. I'm sure he has enough in the tank to give you guys a pretty good year.

The guy is a tackling machine thats for sure. he definatly brings instant leadership to the team, which is huge..imo. And he can help the younger guys along....Very smart move on the part of the front office..

Peace.

Keith Bullock a Giant?

as i said when i text messaged Pappy the moment i found out...

i guess JR was a lil more worried about the position than what was let on and Goff probably isn't as ready as some would hope.

Was listening to Sirius Radio this morning, Todd Archer, Dallas beat reporter said that Felix Jones is now 220 pounds of muscle. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing, Steve Slaton tried to bulk up last year too, he did, and it slowed him down. But then again it could make him more durable

if a pitcher who is a starter their whole lives (not just the year n half u've known of him) breaks down after one year, there really is no way to determine that. Joba actually pitched before u knew about him. Yanks scouted him and had reports on him. They ruined him by babying him. I never wanted the babying, maybe you need to go reread a lil

well again lets go over this...

u hadn't seen him as a starter before the one year he was a starter, so how could u know he was MORE effective as a reliever. Seems like u were talking out of ur *** and just happened to be lucky.

No theres no debating that now, but hindsight is 20/20

Na I think how they used him is what ruined him. I think its a confidence thing. he can't finish off batters. His arm would of gone no matter what

And besides most of the damage done to him was in the first or second inning anyway. His best innings of work was after that (if he lasted much longer cuz his pitch count was usually too high by the 5th). This point was proven this year because he still is gettin blown up fast

Sad to say, but if one year of starting (and being babied) blew out his arm, then he just wasn't who we thought he was

i didn't mind they made him a starter, he had been doin it his hwole life. Believe it or not, Joba had a whole lifetime of pitching before u knew baout him in 2007... just sayin
lol a majority of relief pitchers were starters in college/ minors, so what, he WAS most effective out of the pen(like i said over and over and over) lol. theres no debating that now. starting him ruined him. right? no more 100 mph fastball, no more nasty movement on the slider.......

Sad to say, but if one year of starting (and being babied) blew out his arm, then he just wasn't who we thought he was
agreed 100%

well again lets go over this...

u hadn't seen him as a starter before the one year he was a starter, so how could u know he was MORE effective as a reliever. Seems like u were talking out of ur *** and just happened to be lucky.

well then i guess by those standards your always lucky especially the bulluck signing. this is THEE most rediculous thing you have ever wrote. but i love you

well at least we're on the same page by agreeing that we are no where on the same page...

the two different talks have ZERO in common..

u never saw a guy as a starter, so how could u say he would be more effective?

Ialways said we need more experience and stability in the middle. I didn't think Goff was ready he did alot of bad things last year. Not really alot to feel good about from him.

Saying we needed a guy like Bullock or Morrison or make a move for McClain really isn't the same AT ALL

u based ur opinion off of just seeing him as a closer.

ur just going off of seeing Joba as a closer

Maybe the dumbest tradeI ever saw. The Nats are shutting Strassburg down at 200 total innings.(including his minor league innings) I heard he has something like 30 to 35 innings left.

And not to be a homer, but a fresh Beckett is very valuable.
josh beckett is as fresh as those socks that are older then us that you claim to still have.

whats up *****es.
im taking a lunch break from the beach, figured id come say whatupppppp

i like the Bullock signing. Veteran presence, price was right, and the guy took most of his recovery seriously enough where he sought treatment himself without team guidance. I don't know if it will be immediate impact or anything, but it's def better than what we were about to start the season with, for surrre.

what else is up??

Whats good everyone,?!?!?!

I must say, I dont like this Bullock pick up.... IMO its just gonna hinder the progress of our younger guys, that is unless he's gonna be a backup for us. Hell he just tore his ACL in december
