Yeah our wrs look really good Manninghamhad a good game as well...was theBoss injury a concussion ?</p>

yes it was. didnt look pretty either.</p>

did anyone notice they had beatty at TE for running plays? he did fairly well too</p>

its cuz BEckham is a waste of roster spot

dude can't block so we had to put Beatty in when we wanted to run
</p>

beckum was not drafted as a blocking tight end. when did you forget this? he's a TE for a lack of a better description of what he is.</p>

i know this, but when u have a guy like Boss, who lets be honest, always seems to get roughed up you can't have a receiving tight end as a back up.

I never liked BEckam to be honest. I dont see how he fits on this team

look at my baby tearin it up!!</p>

You have a FF threesome with Foster and Nicks, and <font size="4"><u>I'M</u></font> the one who gets screwed.</p>

</p>

LOL</p>

What did you think of the win today?</p>

</p>

I thought the defense (despite the head scratching 3rd and long conversions) played a great game.</p>

Less than 300 yards given up and 5 turnovers is a great performance. The offense actually looked good to me. The picks were mostly just balls bouncing of WR's hands and that should be a one game thing.</p>

All in all, I'm very happy with our performance.</p>

first half offense was cause for concern

something is gonna have to change with this line... our backs are getting hit as soon as they get the ball and Eli is taking hits and running for his life... this can't happen all season
</p>

The o-line is a concern to me too. </p>

I think it is time for Andrews to be starting over Seubert</p>

only a matter of time i think

I really dont have a problem with him being on the team. I think him going mid draft was not a bad pickup. It was the team's attempt to try something new maybe. He's too big for WR, and not a total TE. he's an h-back...i dont know what else to describe him as really. He'll only get reps on passing plays since i assume Boss might miss a game or 2.

And yea, Boss plays with a reckless abandon that scares the osi out of me sometimes. Dont get me wrong, I love the hardcoreness, but the dude always gets roughed up, youre right.</P>

Both our RBs were struggling to get out from behind the line. god, it was just like last year. runs to the outside were a little different, but those kinda scare me too lol

I have some friends who arent Giants fans who make fun of our run game. And I agree it's kinda funny, cuz they are like....oh look at your RBs, tip-toeing behind the line when the oline doesnt move!
And it's true! lol...it does look funny tho, cuz when Jacobs can't move, he looks ridiculous lol

I was kind of surprised they only gave Jacobs 12 carries. I mean the passing game was working obviously so I get that...but...w/e. Him and AB had pretty good games based on the carries.

hes not a waste. two of those picks he was wide open, one in the flat and one on a slant. as of right now hes a decent receiving tightend. we lined him up at wr a few times last year. but as far as blocking goes, no beuno.

Him and AB had pretty good games based on the carries. getting the ball to BJ on the outside helped to loosen things up in the second half they need to do more of that sort of thing..he showed good hands yesterday

he actually started showing them last year. Last preseason that was something he focused on because the year before he was TURRIBLE

Yeah our wrs look really good Manninghamhad a good game as well...was theBoss injury a concussion ?</p>

yes it was. didnt look pretty either.</p>

did anyone notice they had beatty at TE for running plays? he did fairly well too</p>

its cuz BEckham is a waste of roster spot

dude can't block so we had to put Beatty in when we wanted to run
hes not a waste. two of those picks he was wide open, one in the flat and one on a slant. as of right now hes a decent receiving tightend. we lined him up at wr a few times last year. but as far as blocking goes, no beuno.

hes useless and u've pretty much summed up why in ur response to me

Hes really a WR thats not agile enough to BE a WR, but he also sucks at blocking so hes not really a tight end.

Hes listed as a tight end and hes a useless one. Hes a wasted roster spot, we dont need anothe rWR, i'd rather see Barden, Cruz, or Calhoun get balls than Beckum

</p>

The o-line is a concern to me too. </p>

I think it is time for Andrews to be starting over Seubert</p>i thought it was mckenz sucked the most D. one play he just stared at a blitz and let him run right by him and the guy sacked eli

but u see, u say u dont mind him as a back up but now that boss is down we dont have a backup TE, so I have a problem with him as a backup. I dont think hes even that good of a receiving threat. I think im missing something with him (arian foster style) but I just dont see the point of having him

He doesn't block, they dont even try. Hes only used in slot on passing downs..

grants pick was one of the coolest iv seen. i like seeing him in at corner. anyone see that one safety formation we were running? <FONT size=4>you know who else had a big game. canty and cofield. we looked stout in the middle</FONT>. very. stout
</P>

They were in the backfield all second half</P>

</P>

Less than 100 yards rushing for a team thats essentially the best running team in the NFL would suggest they did their job well.</P>

</P>

That was what I was impressed about. The Panthers can run the ball with the best of them. And the Giants held them to under a hundred yards</P>

its true, but we also have to keep it in perspective. DWill is coming off injury, Stewart is injured, and as bad as Delhomme was, he was much more respected than Moore was...

great job, but this isn't the Panthers offense of the past few years

no you didnt name what tight end you think the giants should start over beckum. if i remember correctly, everyone use to say the same **** about boss AND shockey. hes our backup, and whenever we ran two te sets last season he seemed to always catch the ball when thrown to him. hes a good recieving tightend, thats why hes on the team. hes got more value the moss, thats for sure.

He doesn't block, they dont even try. Hes only used in slot on passing downs..

<u>hes a waste of roster spot. The fact that u just said give him a week wtih TC lets me know ur in full blown homer mode and to not continue this convo with u</u>

thats over reacting. he had a decent game for a back up matt. why dont you tell me what tightend you think they should start before you start calling me a homer.

u obviously weren't watching.

He did so bad that we had to put in a tackle at the TE position.

Hes a receiving TE that can't block and isn't as good as the other WRs....

waste of a roster spot
</p>

he wasnt in for blocking plays. it was acknowledged.
this isnt a big deal, why are you harping on this? lol

Go find us a FA tight end matt, im sure we'll be SET!!!</p>

i actually liked that Roscoe kid in the preseason. We got him on practice squad. He looked like he could hold his own

how is it not abig deal to have a tackle and backup TE switch in and out for running and passing plays?

Im not harping on anything, Dezz is just making bad points and i must destroy them.

And as for signing a FA TE, if Boss is down for a significant amount of time we will be signing a TE

lol youre so full of ****. and trust me, i wouldnt lie to you, you are harping. haha
A)this is all irrelevant cause boss will be back
B)like you been saying youre worried about the oline and now youre *****ing about eli having another tackle, plus it can help in the running game.
C)yesterday our wrs were running open all day on their own.
youre making a big deal over nothing=over reacting

yes its stupid to have a tackle at TE - it tips off obviously what u are trying to do with the ball. Thats not harping, its common sense.

C) ? What does thave to do with anything?

Beckum is a waste - the GWilk of the offense if u will..

hes useless as a WR and a TE = waste of roster spot

From watching Bears games on TV and seeing him get plowed like a hunts point hooker, it seems to be common knowledge that his blocking is def sub-par

"All tight ends, their first responsibility, they have to put their
hand down on the line of scrimmage and be a successful blocker, and
then they move to receiving," Martz said Tuesday on "The Mully &amp; Hanley Show" (http://www.670thescore.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&amp;audioId=4375709% 20%3Chttp://www.670thescore.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&amp;audioId=4375709% 3E)
on WSCR-AM 670. "To just skip by that and say, 'OK, he's a terrific
receiver,' well, then you may as well just put another wide receiver in
there. He can do these things. That is where people really have a
difficult time with a tight end that is as well-rounded as he is."

hes def a better WR TE than blocking, but hes still a good all around TE.

He shot his load yesterday. It was a perfect storm FF wise.</P>

We already have a recieving TE that cant block to save his life with Beckham

Olsen can't block? Where did u get that from
From watching Bears games on TV and seeing him get plowed like a hunts point hooker, it seems to be common knowledge that his blocking is def sub-par

hand down on the line of scrimmage and be a successful blocker, and
then they move to receiving," Martz said Tuesday on "The Mully &amp; Hanley Show" (http://www.670thescore.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&amp;audioId=4375709% 20%3Chttp://www.670thescore.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&amp;audioId=4375709% 3E)

receiver,' well, then you may as well just put another wide receiver in
there. He can do these things. That is where people really have a
difficult time with a tight end that is as well-rounded as he is."

</P>

</P>

I think the Eagles have major issues at the QB</P>

I know people like to say Vick looked great out there after the injury to Kolb. Well lets look at it like this, the Packers game plan on defense was not focused on Vick. He came in and gave the Packers fits and caught them off guard. Now with a full week to prepare for Vick is a different situation. </P>

It is clear how to defend Vick, the d-line must always stay in the lane, and make him beat you with his arm. The Cowboys o-line is horrible, Romo was running for his life half the game. And you can tell he rushed passes due to the pressure. </P>

Now the Redskins D looked good, but I would not go as far as saying great. There offense looked stale. It is a matter of time before Larry Johnson complains about how they use him in the offense. They really have no threat at the wr position. </P>

So I agree, the Giants after week 1 are the best team in the division. </P>

i dunno, have they really?

What did we draft Beckum for? I just think it was a mistake to get him. Hes a middle of the road receiving TE, thats all hes been. Like Pizz said before, we knew when we drafted him he wouldn't be a real TE.

As for BArden, we knew he'd be a work in progress. I thought he had come together more this offseason, but by his playing time and his one shot to grab a ball - hes no where i thought he was. Its week 1 though, alot can happen over the next 4 months

So I went to the game last night, 1st time at the new stadium and WOW, I was disappointed......

Suprisingly parking was close to flawless, and you can find just about ANY kind of food available to man within a short walk, but the layout of the escalators is TURRIBLE!!!!! It took FOREVER to get up to the 300's, and after halftime they started shutting down the escalators that were going upwards, so after getting booted from the 100's I had to walk up and up and up again, oh cant forget that the bathrooms are the biggest cluster f""k Ive seen in a REAL long time

OMG the 100's are Terrible, nobody wears Giants attire, they're quiet as hell, and other than 1 guy they were all getting livid when we would cheer, given the seats were nice and comfy, but its a football game you should be up and cheering!!!!! I sat in the 100's many times in the old stadium and WOW, these new fans down there make the old ones from the 100s look like the damned bleacher creatures..... Its REALLY disheartening, and upon me being escorted out I flipped off the scrooge mcduck's, I mean C'MON there were SO MANY empty seats but nobody would let us sit there, I can only imagine how bad it made us look on TV

Up in the 300's I felt like I was home.... People were telling eachother to get loud and support our team all while draped head 2 toe in NYG attire, and after every good play it was tons of high 5's from people I didnt know, it was GREAT

And Im happily suprised it was soooooooo simple leaving the stadium, we were expecting to wait 2hrs or so to leave the stadium but if we didnt fire up the grill and stuff we would have cruised out of there in minutes, well that is until we got on the NJTPK which was a damnd parking lot....

we've always run double tight end sets tho... how can u say its stupid if u dont know what the situation is at that time on the field?

</p>

That's still a very limited amount of snaps. Also, what makes you think all it takes to get Olsen is a mid round pick?</p>

from the same rumors that said he was even on the block

MattMeyerBud

Why? Olsen is awful.</p>

ur crazy, Olsen is legit and is just stuck in Chicago now.

You may say yea, but they have martz and air it out and everything, <font size="5">but Martz NEVER uses the TE</font>
</p>

Ask Shockey how much we like using the TE.</p>

alot more than Martz does...

lets look at his history of how his TEs look

2000 - Rams Rolando Williams 11 catchs 102 yards 3 TDs

2001 - Rams Ernie Conwell , 38 catches 431 yards 4 TDs

2002 - Rams Ernie Conwell 34 - 419 - 2

2003 - Rams Brandon Manumaleuna 29 - 238 - 2

2004 - Rams Brandon Manumaleuna - 15 - 174 - 1

2005 - Rams Brandon Manumaleuna 13 - 129 - 1

2006 - Lions Dan Cambpell 21-308 - 4

2007 - Lions Sean McHugh 17-252- 0

2008 - San Fran Vernon Davis 31-358-2

Martz NEVER uses the TE
</p>

lol, looks like a long list of scrubs</p>

Conwell and Davis were his only decent guys and they put up very similar numbers that Boss has the past two years.</p>

none of these guys cracked 500 yards, none of them cracked 40 receptions and the most TDs was 4 and that was only once.

This is a guy heading an ALL THROWING offense... its not the same any way u dice it

<font size="5">weren't u the one saying how little we use the TE too?
</font>
</p>

Exactly, so why trade for a guy if you aren't going to use him?</p>

</p>cause matts overreacting.[:)]

no overreacting in getting a player of Olsens magnitude for a mid round pick

</P>

youve just defined every ****ing game ive ever been to at giants stadium lol.
one time we were stuck behind one guy with his little headphone radio things, kept tellin us he couldnt hear. So i told him to go home....
and to our right was some 80 year old man wearing all black, with a huge blanket over him. who literally never moved other than to move his coffee to his mouth.....
I used to ***** about this, but i've come to grips with the fact that for every awesome fan we have, we also have awful ones who are just wastes of stadium space. lol

edit - also, I havent gotten that superexcited friendly environment that you described other than Yankee Stadium bleachers. Homeruns, ppl go nuts! and you high 5 like 30 ppl around you! love it!
well there was the exception, the time where my friends little brother jumped on a ketchup packet that exploded literally on about 40 ppl,.....that was no comraderie there unfort..... I dont wanna talk about it...lol</P>

</p>

this trade for Olsen stuff was post-draft so u can take Cincy off that list.

NE drafted a rookie TE they like

Carolina, STL, and JAx are three teams that I agree could use the value

Tennessee is a team that could use Beatty at TE, Bo Scaife ain't TERRIBLE

JAx has MArcedes Lewis, granted not a top TE, but with a team that has so many holes, you have to go with him and look to fill the rest

Cleveland could def use him, but they too hav ea decent committee of TEs with Watson and Royal. With a ton of other holes, why would u go use a 3rd or 4th round pick to bring in ANOTHER te

I'llve give u STL, Clev, CArolina- but even still. Carolina is all about the run and then air it out to Steve Smith. They need a WR before they need a TE. KC drafted a guy in the 2nd round i forget his name. C

I threw it cuz I knew u were gonna name garbage teams like the Giants could afford the value pick of a mid rounder because this team is stacked. No the Browns can't really afford to do it. There are holes EVERYWHERE

Bottom line, Olsen wouldn't be a backup tight end here.

I think it follows the same idea as "the ground cant cause a fumble" so how can the ground cause a player to not secure a reception? That combined with the fact that if it were 2 hands, it would have absolutely been ruled a TD and not reversed. it's like they look at it differently for that reason...
totally ****ed me over in my other $ league....

</p>

youve just defined every ****ing game ive ever been to at giants stadium lol.
one time we were stuck behind one guy with his little headphone radio things, kept tellin us he couldnt hear. So i told him to go home....
and to our right was some 80 year old man wearing all black, with a huge blanket over him. who literally never moved other than to move his coffee to his mouth.....
I used to ***** about this, but i've come to grips with the fact that for every awesome fan we have, we also have awful ones who are just wastes of stadium space. lol</p>Yea I realized that, so from now on its STRICTLY 300's for me. Everyone (or MOST) people are a ton of fun, enjoy the chants, and fully embrace the '12th man' concept.... Down in the 100's I thought the old stadium was bad (with the wine &amp; cheese crowd) but now it seems to be the caviar and crystaal crowd down there, constantly texting, and not paying attention to the game what so ever...
yea i thought my section was going to suck just by going to preseason, wasnt that bad though. im in the 200s by the verizontron. people around me seemed to know their **** i guess, 30's to 60's. we got loud and stood on 3rds. high fives all around on the picks sacks and tds. those f16s that flew over before the game were awesome. i have a good madden like view too and can see literally the whole field and who is open and whatnot. i was pissed at first but not anymore. parking and no spirals kill me though.
Word up man, I dunno if it was just wehre I was sitting but we couldnt even get into the 200's.... Probably because it was near the suites, but 300's is home, then again I havent sat in the 200s

Look guys we all know that it was a catch by Calvin. In the street..its a catch. On the sandlots....its a catch. In the NFL...NOT A CATCH.</P>

The rule is clear. If you're going down in the proccess of making a catch you MUST maintain possession after you hit the ground. </P>

The real problem is that the kid didn't know the rule. If he did, he would have cradled it with two arms and Detroit would have won the game.</P>

Mind you, again I've only seen this replay a couple times, but from what I saw, I'd challenge that he DID maintain possession even after he hit the ground, you can have possession in one hand, he had the ball palmed, he went down..to the ground, WITH possession, then, in the process of standing up he seems to voluntarily let go of the ball to celebrate.

that's what it looks like to me.

I always leave my gmail account up while at work and even at home because it has a built in chat feature which works with most smart phones also.

I wake up this morning, and my buddy Ash left me this gem:

"i cant talk long... still at work...but i have to say... my hatred for dallas is deeper seeded than i thought. im talkin to a girl who has a dallas tattoo and my immediate thought was where is it...? can i jizz on it...?

It must be terrible being a Jets fan through all these years, can you imagine?

Chad Ochocinco (http://www.tmz.com/person/chad-ochocinco/) didn't hold a grudge against Patriots fans this week just because Cincinnati played New England -- in fact, Chad singled out one Pats season ticket holder and bought the guy the dinner of his life.

http://ll-media.tmz.com/2010/09/13/0913-chad-ochocinco-ex-tmz-credit.jpg
The lucky fan is a dude named Will Ditullo -- a diehard Pats supporter who built a friendship with Ochocinco through Chad's iPhone app.

After
learning that Will recently lost his mother to diabetes ... Ochocinco
made an effort to connect with the guy in Boston before the game.

We're
told the two met up at a fancy restaurant near the Bengals' hotel in
Boston -- and Will had the "night of his life" ... in which the two
talked about everything from sports to how he coped with his mother's
death.

Of course Chad picked up the bill -- you can't really put a price on a night like that.
