well if by shoot out i think u mean high scoring, not necessarily Eli throwin 400 yards... i expect AB to break out

It was a complete joke and a classic example of overthinking on defense. They decided to play this silly 1 LB defense all day long.</P>

lol good game buddy

as for the gmen... i had to wear a yankee jersey to work today

too disgusted to throw a jersey on

time to get new tackles... i msorry but Diehl just sucks nad McKenzie is too slow

biggest three reasons we lost

1. Offensive Line
2. Gilbride
3. Linebackers

Fewell was exposed.. on both sides of the ball the Colt dictated what we had to do...

Gilbride always gets flustered and is so predictable...

BECKUM IS AWFUL CUT HIS *** NOWWW!!!

That Olsen trade seems like it would be a godsend now...

Aaron Ross, trade him for a 6th round pick

Where was Rolle and KP?

JAcobs and BRadshaw looked decent.

Our WRs had no seperation...

Don't you mean "Linebacker" (singular). We only played one linebacker for most of the game. With 6 DB's. It was a horrible strategy. That defensive performance was all on Fewell.</P>

</P>

BTW Matt, I would like to look into trading our back up QB's. Yours and my matchups when our starters are on a bye is bad and Orton is vs, KC when Rodgers is on a bye. I would give you a choice of my back ups along with Orton.</P>

our dline was contained by three step drops. They opened the game totally taking out the pressure by runnin three step drops. Then we had no Lbs on the field so after a while of our dline trying to over persue, Indy put it on the ground and exploited us. They totally dictated everything we did and kept us in check. TOTALLY out coached.

Jacobs touches the ball 4 times? Gilbride hsould be shot. I dont care how bad/good he was running, 4 carries tells no story. Jacobs should of had 12-15, BRadshaw should of had 20-25.

I dont mind trying to take deep shots but we didn't play our passing game at all. Steve Smith should of been the focus of our passing attack all game... dink and dump and pound the rock.

God how bad did HEdge**** get?

How about instead of Drafting another DE in the first round next year we Draft a LineBacker, I think that's a good idea.

on to Fantasy, I offered you a trade Landon, man Had I started Bradford like I was gonna "or" if Turner hadn't gone out of the game in the 2qtr I'd be in good shape right now, still I'm happy big turn around from a 40 point week last week....and I still have faith in Palmer, he threw for 170 on Baltimore look what Sanchez did this week vs what he did last week against Baltimore, the Ravens D is just good...which is why I was thinking about sitting him in the first place...shoulda trusted my gut.

About the Lions game, whatever you guys are doing count me in, I'm gonna put 300 to the side for the day...so there's no need to ask questions, just get the tickets when they are available and you know you have the people, when I say I'm down...I mean I'm down period....if you guys don't get tickets or don't get enough whatever I have a few friends who might need to sell last second or like last time I can always Scalp one...so I'm down no matter what but if you want to get a block of tickets go ahead...(just try to keep it under 250 a ticket I'd like to go to the game for the day for less then 300 all inclusive but I'll spend more if I "have" to)

God how bad did HEdge**** get?

well i think they benched jacobs after he tried that little dance in the backfield he went to the side lines and threw his helmet against the bench and it went flying into the stands.

im hoping last night was a minor glitch.. maybe were not as good as we thought. especially that dline. where was canty? kiwi looks like our best pass rusherso far

So the latest on Brandon Jacobs (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/players/brandon-jacobs/7286), this week's winner from an always-crowded field in the race for King of the NFL Rockheads, is that he wants the Giants (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/team/new-york-giants) to trade him (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/09/20/brandon-jacobs-reportedly-will-ask-giants-for-trade/).
Hey, Brandon, I'm sure the Giants would love to give you your wish. But
there isn't much of a market for slow, scared backup running backs who
make more than $5 million per year, fear contact, curse people out after
every game and throw things at the paying customers (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/09/20/brandon-jacobs-helmet-toss-apology/). So you might just be stuck in New York until the Giants cut you or, less likely, you figure out how to play again.

The Giants have lots of problems. The defense is soft and vulnerable, as the Colts (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/team/indianapolis-colts)
showed in every way possible. The offensive line is toast. The running
game is unreliable at best, and that's with Bradshaw (so far) healthy.
If not for Eli Manning (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/players/eli-manning/6760)
and his wide receivers, they'd more or less be the Rams, and that's not
an exaggeration. The Giants are at a turning point in their history,
where it's time to move on from the team that won that Super Bowl a few
years ago and refresh the whole thing. Getting rid of Jacobs, who makes
their locker room and their on-field product worse just by showing up,
would be a good start. It's just hard to imagine them pulling it off.

Some of you guys are missing the point with our inability to stop the run last night. We didn't stop the run because our defense was designed to let them run. We had 1 linebacker and 6 DB's in the game for the first 3+ quarters.</P>

Our phylosophy was to give them as much rushing yards as they wanted as long as they didn't throw it. We played right into Peyton's hands by letting him abuse us with the run and then throw over the top once our safeties started creeping up. Thats exactly what happened.</P>

We completely invented a new defensive strategy for this game only. And it backfired. We were stupid and that falls on the lap of Perry Fewell.</P>

I said that exact thing specifically, Morehead....but then again, i dont know who that was aimed to. But yes, it was stubborn to continue to use the 6 db setup if it wasnt working. They were saying something during the game about letting Phillips come up for stopping in the run, and im like...yea well he shouldnt have to!
It's not like the Colts werent planning for the EXACT SAME thing...
If you dont trust the pass defense, thats one thing, but to continue to let the same thing happening over and over just to stop peyton, well....maybe you should try something different.</P>

We didn't play 1 linebacker and 6 DB's. We still had Taylor, Banks and Pepper Johnson on the field. We still had our best players on the field.</P>

Our strategy was to punish the receivers when they caught the ball, which we did. Then they started dropping the ball in the second half.</P>

We played right into Peyton's hands by letting him abuse us with the run and then throw over the top <FONT color=#000000>once our safeties started creeping up</FONT>. Thats exactly what happened.</P>

I agree with Morehead, in the past our O-Line looked better then it was because we had a great Running Game...so when we threw the ball they couldn't pin their ears back because our running game was so solid....this year either we just don't have the running game, or Gilbride choose not to use it enough regardless it lead to an early deficit which forced our O-Line into a situation they simply couldn't deal with.

Now I'm not saying we don't "also" need improvement on our O-Line I think we do MMB, but what I'm saying is that LB is (and has been IMHO) the number one need.

Now Morehead, I KNOW they were playing Nickle/Dime cause they were more worried about Peyton but that said, I think part of the reason they choose to go nickle/dime was more so that they simply have more faith in our secondary players then our Linebackers...we got Rolle we got Phillips we got Thomas and Ross...we have alot of good (albeit injury prone) players in the secondary....who do we have at LB...Bullock? he doesn't look good to me, Wilkerson? Goff? who do we have at LB that "isn't" a question mark, no wonder we played that way, Dime/Nickle is when we have our best personnel on the field, and it made sense scheme wise....that is until we started getting ripped up on the ground, in which case you switch back to a set that has some LB's in there...but there was hesitation to do that because I don't think the coaching staff has confidence in our LB's...any of them.

I think they thought that moving Phillips and Rolle into the LB "position" would be able to stop the run and they'd still be able to cover the short patterns Indy likes to run so much to Clark and Collie.

1st...in my other league im going to make a conscious effort to start jerome harrison. although he doesnt seem like a stud, he gets a few receptions, and my other option is jonathan stewart who is awful right now.
2nd...in this league. wtf is up with felix jones?? he was supposed to take the bulk of the carries this year, and he has barely TOUCHED THE ****IN BALL!!! Generally i could give 2 ****s about dallas, but he was ranked to high to let slide lower than where I got him, so what gives??

2 things about fantasy real quick.</P>

1st...in my other league im going to make a conscious effort to start jerome harrison. although he doesnt seem like a stud, he gets a few receptions, and my other option is jonathan stewart who is awful right now.
2nd...in this league. wtf is up with felix jones?? he was supposed to take the bulk of the carries this year, and he has barely TOUCHED THE ****IN BALL!!! Generally i could give 2 ****s about dallas, but he was ranked to high to let slide lower than where I got him, so what gives??
so gheeeey!</P>

</P>

I've started Jerome Harrison on my B league team and he has been a waste of time. Absolutely nothing from him.</P>

lol, i did like how the sideline reporters described it(although the article lando posted earlier was extremely biased against jacobs) when they were like;
"visibally upset coming back to the bench brandon jacobs raised his helmet to throw at either the bench or the ground, but it ended up slipping out of his hands on the way up, and he threw it into the crowd of colts fans"</P>

QB is more important this year, normally QB TD's are 4 points but they are 6 this year...I had Kolb and Stafford...BOTH went down injured...you may not have any good RB's (I didn't have any good QB's) but at least you have ones that are on active duty...both my QB's weren't even playing at all.....thank god Bradford was still available and I got that trade off for Palmer.

i dont think he's lost it really...i just think that getting injured every year without fail has injured him mentally than it has physically. I also think the team made him that way to keep him healthy maybe? taking him away from the headsdown, bullrush, runstyle he was famous for? idk....i dont by into the whole him being afraid of contact thing, but....i guess it's a possibility.
him and bradshaw are both guilty of the tiptoeing behind the line when a hole doesnt open though. it's like looking for disaster, and i hate it.

part of this is playcalling. ****ING GILBRIDE IS GOD AWFUL. we have jacobs running east and west. we have bradshaw running up the middle. we start off with a ****ing reverse. are you kidding me? then we run and het 8 yards. throw on 2nd and 2. then THROW on 3rd and 2?!?!?! we are the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS. we play defense and run the ball down your throat.. that was the worst play calling i have seen in a long time. ive wanted gilbride gone forever and now i REALLY want him gone.. </P>

yes i was opposed to this as soon as they said it during the preseason. it makes much more sense to let lose a faster RB when a defense is tired...not a slower guy who still CAN be tackled. I guess i just dont understand the logic of it.

im scared he is becoming a cancer. all this drama in preseason... now this and apparently rumors are flying that he wants to be traded?!?!?! no buneo</P>

you guys know I don't believe in cancers ... period...[Insert Shockey example] That said, and this is coming from a Jacobs guy, I think we should try to trade him and get value if we can, personally I don't like any of our RBs (well maybe Ware) But Jacobs...I just don't know if he can be the RB he had the potential to be anymore.
i dont think he's lost it really...i just think that getting injured every year without fail has injured him mentally than it has physically. I also think the team made him that way to keep him healthy maybe? taking him away from the headsdown, bullrush, runstyle he was famous for? idk....i dont by into the whole him being afraid of contact thing, but....i guess it's a possibility.
him and bradshaw are both guilty of the tiptoeing behind the line when a hole doesnt open though. it's like looking for disaster, and i hate it.

has anyone notice that every reg. season game we give Ware carries it's like only 2-3 of them, and he averages 7+ yards a carry? lol...hmmm</P>

</P>

All you guys need to calm down about this Jacobs thing. This "incident" should mean nothing to the success or failure of the team.</P>

It will blow over and be forgotten. He made a bad move to the outside instead of pounding the middle. He'll be coached up I'm sure and you should see a different approach next week.</P>

And Daven is right. there are no "cancers" (and I HATE that expression) on this team.</P>

Its one bad loss in week 2. A win against Tenn next week will put this loss behind us.</P>

i dont think Jacobs is.. i do think he hurts the team because he can't contain himself tho...

i do think shockey was a cancer. You dont show up ur QB, scream at coaches and general managers and all of that ****
</P>

Nothing Shockey did ever hurt the team on the field. I'm not sure how he was supposed to be a "cancer". Did other players play more poorly because of Shockey's antics? No.</P>

"Cancer"?.............No.</P>

"Pain in the ***"?........... Yes. </P>

how bout shockeys personal fouls cuz he was a hot head? How bout the fact he tried throwing eli under the bus almost every time.

Surprised u'd take the stance that Shockey didn't hurt a young QB we had in Eli
</P>

None of that had any effect on Eli. He's done just fine. These aren't china dolls out there.</P>

Adrian Peterson
Chris Johnson
Jamal Charles
Rashard Mendenhall
Ray Rice

I'm ready for a RB like that, I'm sick of the guys we have now...unless we let Ware have a shot.

i dont evne think that they would be who they are with the way our line has been
</p>

are you suggesting that johnson and charles have good offensive lines in front of them? that's debatable i'd say.</p>

actually, Tennesee has one of the best lines in the league

and KC has a young and up and coming line...

i am suggesting that yes, both have bette rlines than we do right now. This ain't the KC of yester year, this team looks REALLY good and they have the staff to make them over achieve
</p>

You really ARE in a bad mood. Our O line is better than either of those two. We had a bad day. Everyone climb off the ledge.</p>

Jacobs obviously made a stupid move trying to reverse his field, and then overreacted on the sidelines.</p>

But give me a guy with that kind of attitude anytime.</p>

first off..

u ac tlike our oline is in the same condition it was two years ago... its not. Its got progressivly worse in every aspect.

Tennesees line is stacked and are regarded as one of the best in the league.

KC is currently playing 10x better football than we are and that line is up and coming. Totally playing better than our line is currently and they dont have the WRs or QB we have.

Diehl was **** last year and age caught up with McKenzie... this isn't a sky is falling because i've been saiyng this since last year and even last week and all preseason

i guess u'd like phillip rivers as ur qb too? f that

Matt's new realization:

Ahmad Bradshaw was a productive our o-line. Now that we are seeing some struggles, you think everyone is better.
Eat crow.

I still think our o-line is good, but we are getting old at tackle I guess, and we had a terrible night.sure there is always room for improvement, but I dont think it's the end of the world.

i didn't say no one could be productive, what i did say was that all those backs mentioned owuldn't be as good as they are if they were running behind our line

last weeks game, the oline had tacklers in the backfield almost every single time our backs were receiving the handoff...

Notice Jacobs couldn't get going either... Bradshaw is going to end up a really good back in the NFL. If we had the line we had two years ago (playing to that level) with what bradshaw is now.. he'd be over 1300 yards no doubt

THAT is a DISTRACTION. THAT is a CANCER. we have ALOT to fix this week if we plan to move forward with this season. that last thing we need is players throwing things into the stand, fighting with reporters and being a distraction as far as requesting to be traded and having meetings regarding this when everyone involved should be on the field practicing their *** off and getting back to where we need to be.</P>

that would be a mediocre point you made, if not for the fact that they were on the winning end of blowouts and were facing other 3rd stringers

Are u suggesting that averaging over 5 yards a carry is mediocre?
