hahaha you guys see the latest shanahan excuse? McNabb wasnt in "hurry-up" shape.
So..basically ayoure saying he is incapable of jogging down the field(assuming the play moves the ball), and quickly snapping the ball for hte next play? ****...im out of shape, but even i could do that. lol

in other news.....how many more games is Childress staying the coach in Minny?</p>

</p>

There has to be something about McNabb.</p>

Think about it, Reid has benched him, now Shanahan. </p>

It was terrible to bench him cause he was not in shape to run the 2 min drill.</p>

And the worst part he was benched for Rex Grossman lol </p>

</p>

</p>

i can understand a QB struggling his first year in a new system. especially after playing 10 years in just 1. Maybe Shanahan is freaking out cuz he treats his QBs like he treats RBs for the past 10 years. lol idk...</p>
I don't remember who but someone on ESPN said the last time Grossman gave a team the best chance to win he played at Florida. lmao!!!

Bandy, if the NFL lockout is imminent, i might actually start watching hockey this year in preperation. lol
cuz lets be honest...im def. not about to start watching NBA again, unless of course Lebron goes totally emo, and things go back to normal lol. im rooting for that evans guy in Toronto to average above 15 rebounds a game, if he can manage that, he has my respect more than any player.

They both get the same amount of action from girls?

They have their period the same week?

I am happy Mike Shanahan is so stupid. lol

me too

i feel like we only gotta worry about the iggles now and we're DUE

Seriously right. They have owned us in every meaningful game for the last couple years. It sucks.

I was thinking the same thing. These Eagles Giants games are gonna be huge. If we can win them both we should win the division. I know we are better than them.
</p>

We have always owned Mick Vick. The only time Atlanta ever beat us was with a back up QB.</p>

Plus we will abuse the Philly defense. I'm worried about every game but I like our chances against Philly.</p>

No need to remind you what happened last year. We owe them some serious pay back.

Unfortunately I will have to play Vick that week. [:(]
</p>

No more McNabb who always played well against us. Vick is vulnerable to complicated coverage. Thats why we always killed him.</p>

you know Andy Reid and Mike Shanahan are both pretty good coaches with long resumes...when does it stop being "stupid coaches" and start being "Stupid Player"

McNabb is consistently, over-rated all the time and It's highly annoying, he's just not that good, never was, ok he played good against us, but as a QB...he's just sub-par..him and Cutler.

And with currency exchange rate the way it is, if your canadian that would equal a week and a half ban

so this summer, i read a Bill Simmons article about how fantasy football needs "a shakeup", and how nothing has changed in the game since it went to an online format like 10 years ago. I remembered one awesome recommendation, and looked for the article so i could share it with you guys</P>

my favorite idea,is adopting the team running game. meaning you dont draft a RB, you draft a team of RBs. It's a pretty cool idea. You want Chris Johnson, you draft the Tenn. running game. The risk is virtually the same, you lose CJ, who runs behind him?
It's also cool for teams with good running games like the Giants, where you still might be concerned about who gets carries, same for Oakland, and KC, etc...

The odds of this ever happening are slim, or for a specific website to adopt it, but the Sports Guy has some cool ideas. Good read, (long, like most of his blogs, but good) if you have free time, which i know you all do lol</P>

bottomline, we all have access to the same exact resources, if we so choose to do the required work...that means it all comes down to 1 thing and 1 thing only. Luck.
if all 12 of us do the SAME research, after the draft, it comes down to luck. we cant control our team, we can just change the way it looks from time to time.
So in that respect, i agree, it needs to be changed....its getting old i guess.</P>

this is probably the most competitive league im in, meaning where everyone pays close attention...about the same in my work league...so im afraid youre kinda wrong...you cant tell me that if i didnt lose Ryan Grant in the first half of week 1 that my team wouldnt be better than it already is. what do you call that? oh yea...luck! Kickers are a crap shoot... mutliplying their effect on the game is senseless

Besides maybe the top 2 defenses, its typically a 99% crapshoot. Multiplying this is stupid

Flex is better with 3 WRs, but it still put the weight on RBs still cuz the goal would be to get 3 Quality RBs

2 QBs is just stupid i dont see the point in that. Its too much

thats debatable there pappy...

stats wise he may of never been in the top 5, but what happened to stats not telling teh story?

hes on pace to break 50k, not a miss a start, and have 2 superbowl rings with 240 TDs

thats if he mirrors the first half of his career, which he should have a better second half in all realism

what about wins and all of that?

Thats what we do in America.</P>

hate to break it to you old man, but Eli is on his way to a HOF career, whether u like it or not
</P>

He is between the 6th and 10th best QB in football. he has never been in the top 5. If that meets the standard, then fine, he's in. If true greatness is the standard, then he's not in. At least not based on what we've seen so far.</P>

</P>

</P>

the game of football changes too often for one person to be able to determine "true greatness"</P>

example...Troy Aikman...Hall of Famer. is he deserving? of course....
but look at his career stats. by today's standards, basically less than average...</P>

But he helped his team win, alot...and thats worth alot.

So Eli is on his way...he makes the Giants win. There are only a few other QBs in the league that i would say could do the same on our team, and im 99% sure they are future hall of famers also.

Just wait....Eli is it...</P>

thats debatable there pappy...

stats wise he may of never been in the top 5, but what happened to stats not telling teh story?

hes on pace to break 50k, not a miss a start, and have 2 superbowl rings with 240 TDs

thats if he mirrors the first half of his career, which he should have a better second half in all realism

what about wins and all of that?
</P>

1. I don't care about stats.</P>

2. I go by what I see on the field. What I see is a nice player who has many strengths and some glairing weeknesses.</P>

3. Except for 1 good run where he was essentially mistake free, he has been horrible in the playoffs.</P>

4. Peyton, Brady, Brees, Ben and Rodgers are all head and shoulders better than our young man.</P>

5. You have to be GREAT to be in the HOF. Not good, not even very good. GREAT.</P>

I concede that since the Hall is a popularity contest, he has a slight chance. But I'm telling you, if he gets in and Phil never does its a travesty. Phil was GREAT. So was Randall Cunningham and he's not in.</P>

well i beg to differ. I wouldn't say Eli had a bad game the first time we lost to Philly.

He had came back down 10 points in the 4th at the 2 minute warning and the defene just **** the bed and get the ball jammed down their throats at willl for Akers to hit the game winning FG

im sorry but playing 7 games total and 2 of them being bad, while 1 was in ur second year is not awful.

Last year we didn't make the playoffs and that had nothing to d with Eli's performance. The offense did its job

Eli has one of the best WR groups in football. Before this crew he had Plaxico to blindly throw to into coverage. (which he did often)</P>

Rodgers is a better overall player than Eli. Not only does he have better passing skills, but he's more elusive and a better runner.</P>

There is a reason that the players year after year pick Eli as one of the most overrated players in the NFL.</P>

why is it when a QB like Eli drops back, blindly throws the length of the field and it ends up in the hands of the defense, it's means he's bad....
but when Brett Favre does it, he's a "gunslinger"??

Eli has some off centered throws, but honestly the way he gets the ball into traffic, he may be the best in the league

Favre had a high level of excellence for many many years. He won 3 MVP's. He was one of the very best (top 3) QB's in football for 15 years. As much of a dope as he is, NO ONE could argue he's not a HOF'r.</P>

</p>

</p>

With the way all the QBs are playing in the league nowadays. It's going to take a heck of alot better career for Eli to get in. The hall is starting to get extremely diluted anyway so he might get in, especially if we win another SB, because for some reason voters feel as though thats something important. </P>

I've heard alot of conjecture about Hines Ward getting into the Hall. If he gets in then anyone can.</P>

Hell all QBs make their share of mistakes and bad throws for all the reasons one can imagine..pressure in his face and can't step into the throw or it forces him to throw early and a host of other **** that gos on out there...every play is full of **** happening, this is a team game and trying to put the blame on one guy is ridiculous...If you going to break the game down to this play or that play... you need to breakthewhole play downnot just the end result..in most casesyour going to find out there was a number of thingsgoingonthat caused a play towrong....</P>

At this level of football one would expectthat when ball hits a wr in the hands more times than not he should catch it..that's it</P>

And at this level with some margin for error that a Qb should beactuate with histhrows andmake good decisions out there...there 's no harder working QB in this league than Eli... imo..And I believe he will continue to work hard at improving his till the day he decides to hang it up ...And when thatday comes we will all know just how good he done......</P>

As for right now I'm happy winning games ints and all I'll take'em....when those ints/mistakes start costing us games then I'll ***** for sure....but for now I'll keep the rose colored glasses on...look out Seattle!!</P>

yea i really hate that stat...but whatever...

it should be like baseball, where sometimes base hits get charged as errors to fielders instead of hits and vice versa, and when pitchers arent charged for runs for the same reason.

everything ben can do eli can do just as well if not better minus escaping the pocket which i think is over rated anyway. and lets not forget that ben sucked his first superbowl.

thats a good article matt...i was expecting something homerish...but surprisingly enough i found it totally factual. nice find.

got it out of TAGF

and to be honest its the same arguments we've been making for eli thruout the years just all rolled into one argument
</P>

id say that the first few seasons of Eli starting i was skeptical, as most fans would be of a young QB....but after 06, i just decided to get fully behind him and see where it got us. we've never had a losing record, so thats a plus. lol...
honestly, despite Eli just not being mobile, i LOVE watching him play, and honestly feel he's a VERY good qb.

I will alllllways feel though, that since ppl automatically compare him to Peyton, he will forever get labeled as overrated...or in some cases, not "rated" at all....</P>

If he continues his current play, he will be.</P>

Why? Because he's a great QB who has already won 2 SB's and will probably win at least another.</P>

his current play really isn't that good.

So if Eli wins another superbowl u dont think hes HOF material?
</P>

Ben has a nearly .700 win %.</P>

Ben has an historically high yards/att at 8.0. (Parcells always claimed this was the most important stat in evaluating QB's)</P>

Ben has great escape ability, great arm, he's a great leader on the field. And he's won 2 SB's in his first 5 years.</P>

And yes, he's also a jerk off. If its the "best guy" who gets into the Hall, Eli is my man. If its the "best football player", its Ben.</P>

I also think the escaping the collapsing pocket ability is an unfair assessment, and possibly overrated like dezz said, in comparing eli to ben.
For one, in his first 4 seasons in the league, Ben was the most sacked QB in the league. there was only 2 regular starters that got hit more. So it's without question a matter of adaptability.
Eli has had a good line(for the most part), for years now, so it's entirely possible that he has never adapted to having to do that. Im sure someone will twist my words and say that this is why he is not as good....but thats not the case.
I will say ben is more athletic, its fairly obvious, but this is not the only attribute of a great QB.

I think the biggest part of Eli's upside, is that when IT MATTERS, he plays heads above other QBs....comebacks, clutch plays, the works...i love him for that.

this is the first year in recent memory where not every team was playing pretty awesome football. for the past 10 years or so, all 3 of our division rivals have had great defenses.
Remember when Ben played the nfc east teams? he was DISGUSTING!!! atrocious! terrible!</P>

Eli plays them 6 times a year, always has...he isnt Rivers who plays in the worst division in football!</P>

If he continues his current play, he will be.</p>

Why? Because he's a great QB who has already won 2 SB's and will probably win at least another.</p>

http://www.giantsgab.com/2010/10/20/eli-manning-overrated-hardly-the-reasons-why-i-love-eli-manning/

god this just owns you

his current play really isn't that good.

So if Eli wins another superbowl u dont think hes HOF material?
</p>

If its the "best football player", its Ben.</p>

a) Ben walked into a superbowl team, while eli got tossed to the wolves in the first season

b) i dont care WHAT Parcells said. Styles of offense and play calling tendencies would dictate that. It really shows nothing

c) i'll give u that, but Tavaris Jackson can escape tacklers too. Jamarcus Russell and Kyle Boller have better arms, maybe we should put them on the ballet as well.

d) bottom line if Eli wins a superbowl this year, ubetter say hes goin to the hall.
</p>

How many games did Tavaris Jackson, Jamarcus Russell and Kyle Boller win?</p>

What else do you want from this kid? He wins. He wins SB's. He throws for a lot of yards, he throws a lot of TD's, and he doesn't throw a lot of Int's. He has a very high career completion %, he has a near all time high Y/A.</p>

By any standard (Winning, championships, productivity) he's a great football player.</p>

What the hell is your problem today. I know your bummed about the good guys taking back the House, but this is rediculous.</p>

The only thing standing between the Giants and a superbowl is our tendancy to commit turnovers in bunches. Eli has 15 of those. You all can blame who you want, The Giants receivers, the one armed man, the man behind the grassy knoll.... I don't care. Unless we fix the turnover problem, we will have a dissappointing end to this season.</P>

If its the "best football player", its Ben.</p>

a) Ben walked into a superbowl team, while eli got tossed to the wolves in the first season

b) i dont care WHAT Parcells said.

Then the typical Republican fumbling came out. His answer was well we all work for the rich in this world. They are the one with the businesses. If they get hit hard how would it effect the rest of us?

if being a communist means relying on these supreme rich to help out the country when its in a horrible position - then so be it...

i hate the argument, yea but the rich create jobs... yea thats true, but its not because they are good samaritan. If they are creating jobs, its because its making them money. So lets stop blowing these guys for "creating jobs". If they weren't making their money off of us, they wouldn't be creating jobs.

Again i'll never shed a year for the rich only being 600 billionairs instead of 700 billionairs....

If its the "best football player", its Ben.</p>

a) Ben walked into a superbowl team, while eli got tossed to the wolves in the first season

b) i dont care WHAT Parcells said.

And how many did he throw in and out of defenders hands. How many did he throw that should have been picked that weren't? </p>

And that number of 7 is extreemly high. Many were bad passes that would have required great plays by the WR's to make.</p>

</p>

Not you too Lando. I expect the rose colored glasses from Matt, but I count on you for reason.</p>
I am not siding one way or the other. I just posted that because we were all wondering and I found it.

I am a firm believe that if the ball hits your hands it should be caught. I also understand that sometimes it's difficult for them to make the catch with all the extenuating factors.

I am very reasonable when it comes to Eli. Me and Matt have argues many times about Eli. He is really impressing me thus far this year and we are winning which is most important. He has had some really bad picks though and you are right about possibly more.

I found this a little worrisome...QB Eli Manning is currently ranked 14th out of 16 in NFC third-down
passing. Last year, Manning finished as the second-best quarterback in
this statistical category.

yea i really hate that stat...but whatever...

it should be like baseball, where sometimes base hits get charged as errors to fielders instead of hits and vice versa, and when pitchers arent charged for runs for the same reason.

I dont have a view on this, but maybe a change to how we track stats is in order. =P</p>

The way in which you carry yourself. Swag is made up of your overall confidence,
style, and demeanor. Swag can also be expanded to be the reputation of
your overall swagger. You gain swag, or "Swag up", by performing swag
worthy actions that improve this perception. A person can also "swag
down," by being an overall ***** and garnering negative swag for their
actions. Swag is a subtle thing that many strive to gain but few
actually attain. It is reserved for the most swagalicious of people.
Swag can also be quantified, with point systems existing in some
circles of friends.

I know I'm old and am not up on the newest groovy lingo, so someone please explain it to me.</p>

Swag is short for swagger..and Lando just explained that pretty well...

the real reason we use it here though I think is because not only does it fit in with most of our personalities, but also because the Hotel Lando stayed in the first meet up had a switch on the side of the bed that literally said "Swag Switch" so we joked about turning our Swagger on before the game :P

The way in which you carry yourself. Swag is made up of your overall confidence, style, and demeanor. Swag can also be expanded to be the reputation of your overall swagger. You gain swag, or "Swag up", by performing swag worthy actions that improve this perception. A person can also "swag down," by being an overall ***** and garnering negative swag for their actions. Swag is a subtle thing that many strive to gain but few actually attain. It is reserved for the most swagalicious of people. Swag can also be quantified, with point systems existing in some circles of friends.
