Thank you all. Hopefully I can get a lil bump from winning fantasy football. Lol</P>
For your sake i hope so too Lando.</P>
That 2nd place money should come in handy.</P>
Let me know what you got with it ok? Jk I am going to remain humble and hope for the best. I am afraid of Shock. I hope Bandy bears him</P>
I'm afraid of the Dog Murderer. </P>
My team is in a bit of trouble. My RB's are getting to be a weakness. I will probably have to bench LdT and start Ronnie and Blount along with Forte.</P>
have you seen S&A's matchups.. i'm actually surprised he's projected so low</P>
I did after you commented on how soft you thought it was. I think his matchups are pretty tough.</P>

wow you just compared Clemente to Carl Crawford, and appear to be totally ok with it. if any of us said it, we'd hear it from you for sure.
No outfielder is worth what he just got paid(besides Ken Griffey Jr. the best outfielder of all time), im sure it was a no brainer for him.
There are 3 starting outfielders per team, and for comparison, 1 first basemen. because of a simple numbers game I feel that only the most talented of 1st Basemen play at a pro level, or end up playing first anyway. There are 100 starting outfielders.</P>

Each player has one position in the hitting lineup. Crawford is a good outfielder but its about the bat. (and in his case speed on the base paths)</P>
Tex and Crawford each take up the same percentage of a lineup. Your argument about outfielder vs. infielder is silly.</P>

you traded for Adrian G, so I dont see it that way, but props for trading propsect garbage for him I guess. still didnt re-sign him yet, right?
I would assume that you have a better minor league system then us...HOWEVER i know for a fact that Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has been raking inAAA for us, so I dont know if thats even true.
The only guy I can't wait to see at the pro level is Jesus Montero. they just dont know if he's a pro level catcher yet. </P>

all i gotta say is Jeter - Mo - Pettitte - Hughes - Posada - Cervelli - Gardner - Austin Jackson - Cano
and its game over
Pappy as much as ur trying to make it out like we're scared, we're not. Crawford isn't the type of signing to strike fear into our hearts lol. If you got Lee, i'll admit that would of been scary.
A Gonz is good but i mean you've lost Manny, Papi sucks, and VMart. Your team already had holes.
I just LOOOOVE the fact that the Red Sox sold out and SPENT WAAADS on their team. When their whole argument was the unfair advantage on the rest of the league the yankees had. SOOO FULLL of ****, just like ur justification of it.
Crawford is overrated, Gardener had better OBP and is faster. Enjoy lolz

let's all face the facts of this rivalry.
boston has 2 pitchers. Lester and Buc
beckett's best days are obviously behind him, and Lackey doesnt even need to be included in this convo lol
IF we get Lee, there is no question who the better team is, but let's continue anyway...</P>
your bullpen sucks, ours also with a few exceptions, but has Mo at least (lol, all bullpens suck)
breaking down the infield, NY is clearly better. The addition of Gonzalez helps you obviously.
Your outfield is slowly catching up to ours, but for your OF, it's a matter of health. We are better.</P>

why thank you sir.
I dont know what you mean by wounded exactly, but thats ok. If anything youre the wounded one, finally coming to the realization that your team is becoming what you apparently hate. and now youre angry over the Crawford signing, which i understand, I do....but now youre trying to justify it, and hide your anger to us. I get it, it's cool...and "cute"</P>

I can't tell you how fun this is bouncing back and forth between this thread and your facebook page. Its not the signing that makes it great. Its the reaction of you Yankee fans. You guys are driving yourself nuts trying to convince yourselves that this is a good thing for you somehow.</p>

boston signs crawford. 7 yr 142 mill
THANK GOD! I did not want him in pinstripes, enjoy that waste of money lol
He's an outfielder for ****s sake!!
Lee in Pinstripes by Sunday
</p>
Nice rationalization.</p>
We just signed Roberto Clemente.</p>
</p>
wow you just compared Clemente to Carl Crawford, and appear to be totally ok with it. if any of us said it, we'd hear it from you for sure.
Well anyway...im glad you got him cuz i didnt want him, and enjoy that long contract =]</p>
</p>
Each player has one position in the hitting lineup. Crawford is a good outfielder but its about the bat. (and in his case speed on the base paths)</p>
Tex and Crawford each take up the same percentage of a lineup. Your argument about outfielder vs. infielder is silly.</p>
You are rationalizing again Pizz. Its cute and only makes me like you more. But still..........</p>
</p>
rationalizing what? why do i have to rationalize your signing? i dont get it.</p>
</p>
Do I really have to explain it Pizzey?</p>
Lets face it. Our home grown players are better than yours. And now our mercenaries are better than yours.</p>lmao you are ****ing delusional

what do you mean, swish was fine and had a great year. if we need depth at outfield we can just look at the minors. if moreheads right about one thing regarding the yanks its that we need to see a few homegrown players. we dont need to go out and get a part time outfielder imo.

I really don't care that they spent that kind of money. The Red Sox fans are the most loyal in baseball and our team generates plenty of income to support that contract. We will pass 700 consecutive sellouts this year. </P>
The point is that we had a huge hole in our outfield and our lineup and now both are outstanding. Crawford is perfect for Fenway and he has a rep as a very hard worker. The fans will love him.</P>
Ellsbury, Pedroia, Crawford, Yuke, Gonzalez, Popi is a hell of a top 6.</P>

To word it as "I dont really care they spend the money", makes u a hypocrit. Because you sure as hell care when the yankees do it and you take on the argument "THAT ITS UNFAIR TO THE REST OF THE LEAGUE", but how quickly it was justified mere minutes after u got Crawford.

To word it as "I dont really care they spend the money", makes u a hypocrit. Because you sure as hell care when the yankees do it and you take on the argument "THAT ITS UNFAIR TO THE REST OF THE LEAGUE", but how quickly it was justified mere minutes after u got Crawford.

shut uppppppp. its annoying when i ask a question and not ONE person can repsond. lol not to mention a football question on a football message boards. lolteasing of course. everyone was pretty focused on mhs hypocrisy and him caught in a pickle.
</p>
Morehead is caught in no pickle. My team has one big signing per season. this is it. Its no big deal.</p>
Last year it was Lackey. You guys are making too big a deal over this. you're all scrambling to discredit Crawford and it makes no sense. I've never heard anyone say the kid isn't an outstanding player.</p>

so i guess Lee will be given a blank cheque to sign eh? you boys will need another Lefty to have a chance against that lineup.. </P>
well, I feel we give him the best of what he wants. Great chance to get back to the series, win his first ring, make as much as the best aces in baseball, and play with his close friend CC. I think the offer on the table right now is way too much money, but I cant argue about him making 2 WS appearances in a row, and his stats speak for himself. Although I'm not a huge fan of his, I recognize the need for another pitcher, and having a "Cliff Lee" never hurts. lol</P>

Last year it was Lackey. You guys are making too big a deal over this. you're all scrambling to discredit Crawford and it makes no sense. I've never heard anyone say the kid isn't an outstanding player.</P>
anyone who watches baseball knows that the lackey signing was a"oh ****, we didnt get anyone!" move
Nobody is discrediting Crawford(thoughI don't put him in the upper echelon of players)....but I'm openly insulting the contract, and saying he is not worth it...I'm also glad it was boston because A) we dont need him and B) your excuses will be running thin ;)</P>
</P>
There is no question that lackey was a dissappointment last season. We'll see how that signing works out in the long run.</P>
Beckett had a mediocre first season with the socks and then was tremendous in his second.</P>
Again, for all of you who don't like my attitude and call me a hypocrite or other things. I just don't know what you expect here. This is the Sox one big signing this year. they did this essentially every year. they never spend the kind of money the Yankees do in the FA market. </P>
This signing was a pleasant surprise, but Its not that big a deal. </P>
Whats dissapointing from you guys is this "he's all legs", or "Gardener is better" nonsense.</P>
The fact is that he's a really good player who will help our team tremendously. Its not like we gobbled up the top three FA's on the market.</P>
Come see me if we do.</P>

while basketball is temporarily the topic, i think that as of right now, aside from my normal favorite players, Nash and Amar'e...that my new favorite player is Kevin Love. the guy is the real deal, total package. averaging more boards than ive seen since Rodman, and consistently. He's averaging 20, and 15+ and its hard to complain about any part of his game. he's not the creampuff ppl predicted, he hits big shots, and just hawks the ball. he's really something.</P>

</P>

You just over paid for a good hitter not great. He is great on the bases, and can get you 10 triples a season. Good fielder</P>

ok well lets try to agree on part of the terminology. when I think of the term hardcore, i know it as a faster, and louder version of whatever the original genre is.
take bands like the Sex Pistols(nobody would debate this as punk), and if someone played one of their songs faster and louder, itd be hardcore punk.
Morehead's description of Social Distortion..."hard driving in your face rock" ahem...hardcore punk.

Morehead was a DJ before he sold printing. Music from the 70's and 80's is my specialty.</p>
</p>
oh well then its surprising that you dont know how to classify music....</p>
lol</p>
</p>
Pop Punk is NOT punk. As a matter of fact Pop Punk is an oxi moron. By definition Punk is anti-pop. It was a revolt against anything popular.</p>
Punk is anti establishment, often anti government, angry music. Its almost always played at 150+ beats per minute or faster. Almost always in major chords.</p>
It started in basements in NYC and London. What Green Day or even Social Distortion do is nothing like authentic punk. </p>
You kids drive me nuts. You presume to tell me, a guy who was in his teens when punk developed, what REAL punk is. You drive me nuts. Go back to friggin BioHazard.</p>
ANGRY MOREHEAD!!</p>
well pappy not for nothing, but i gotta use your own phrase against you.
You can consider them to be anything you want, but that doesn't make it so
anywhere u look at what SDs genre is, it always says punk.
Not real punk, i agree with u on that. Real punk is like Sex Pistols and The Clash and **** like that. But it labeled punk as was Green Day. You can not agree with it, but it is what it is.
SD is a pop punk. And Biohazard is me not Pizz...
think youre both right. bands have to have their own style or theyll just be considered posers
everything evolves, if it didn't we'd all still be listening to gospel music
yuuup. but i think music evolving has hit its peak, i mean how many more ways can people make music.

Moorehead has just completely changed before our eyes:
1) All of a sudden spending a ridic amount of money to build a baseball team is okay with him
2) Hes okay with gambling again
3) Hes telling us to listen to music that was post 1979
</p>
1. One major signing per year is fine.</p>
2. I would never have actually bet</p>
3. There isn't much music today that I like. But I loved 90's alternative music.</p>
You can call Social D anything you like but that doesn't make it so. Its like calling Motley Crue, heavy metal.</p>
Morehead was a DJ before he sold printing. Music from the 70's and 80's is my specialty.</p>
bla bla bla
what do u consider social d in genre wise?
</p>
Why is this hard?</p>
They're a hard rock and roll band.</p>
You guys and your "genre" nonsense. A band is what it is. </p>
You can say some of these bands evolved from punk. But when the Pretenders stopped doing songs like "Precious" and started doing "Back to Ohio", they stopped being a punk band. Andtrust me Chrissy Hynde was one of the original punk musicians in London.</p>
Real Punk, was a phenomenon that essentially died in the early 80's. There are a few stragglers out there playing in clubs somewhere, but authentic punk has been gone for a long time. It got *******ized and kids who thought theywere cool claimed they listened to "punk". But it was bull****.</p>
</p>
And I don't claim to know everything at all. I'm sure you all know modern rock music a lot more than I do. But the original punk movement is something I do have some knowledge of.</p>
ehh i guess i could accept that. But unfortunately, regardless of what u and i think, they are widely referred to as punk.
everything evolves pappy. LEts compare you and i.. back in the day people use to rock sexy staches... now that has turned into soul patches and thin sideburns lol.
And i hear ya, but like are u denying that SD is known as punk? Mind you i disagree with that title as well. I do think they are more 80s hard rock with poppy punk characteristics.
</p>
Just because they are widely know as something doesn't make it true. "Punk" is a very specific phenomenon. Just because some record exec. somewhere coins a phrase like pop punk, doesn't make it right. </p>
</p>
</p>
A Pizz, you gotta give me a break with this "you played the I was there card" crap. You guys, I'm sure listen to a lot of todays music. I don't. In essence, you are there and i'm not.I would have to be an absolute fool to presume that I know as much about something that you had direct experience with and I didn't.</p>
There are very few bands today I can stand. I think its boring and unimaginative. But I only know what I like. I don't presume to know about it as much as any of you.</p>
"Pop Punk" is a friggin joke of an expression. Sid Vicious is rolling in his grave.</p>
"You can call Social D anything you like but that doesn't make it so. "
take ur own advice sir.
And your not alone. Nobody in here is a fan of pop punk, we agree its *** music, and the last good band to come out where I could actually listen to and enjoy the whole album was Audioslave and that was in like 2002
