From a quote from montana when speaking about bill Walsh

He expected the ball to be in a spot where the receiver had to catch the ball and not have to slow down nor affect them in their running after the catch. Any thing less than that was considered a bad pass.

When coaches and players settle for anything less than perfection then average results occur. Why would us the fans, who pay money to see these guys demand anything less?

A bad pass is a bad pass, period. Don't suck eli's penis, he has a wife to do that for him.

I will agree that many of the tips were "bad passes" but get passed that.

they were bad, high, to far in front etc etc...and while I'd love our receivers to make "good" plays to bail Eli out occasionally I don't "expect" them to, on the other hand though, if they can get their hands onto the ball (no matter how bad the pass) some of the responsibility is transferred to them and if the result is an interception, I gotta say MOST of the blame is transferred to the WR, if you can reach the ball, at the very least you can knock it away from a defender....that's the least you can do for your QB.

the QB can't always throw a perfect pass because of so many variables, LB's in the passing lane, the rush, zone coverage etc etc.

also on timing routes, I saw it a ton this year, were the WR is supposed to stop and Eli's supposed to hit them back shoulder but instead they keep chugging up the sideline, on these timing routes sometimes it looks like Eli is throwing it directly to the other team but thats only because he HAS TO assume the WR is going to be in the right spot before throwing the ball, if the WR blows it, it makes ELI look like a fool to most casual fans.

Based on the two objectives that JP pointed out, which I agree with, there will always be two sides of the fence that a fan or "objective party" can argue when there is an interception.

Either: The qb threw a perfect pass or not
The wr ran a perfect route or not

or

The defender was so amazingly talented and still managed a takeaway.

1. Lawl's point about "perfect passes" is a bit off point. Montana played in the pure West Coast offense which depends on yards after catch on short passes. Thats not the offense we run.</P>

2. Having said that, Daven's views must be rejected out of hand on any topic regarding the Giants WR's, due to the blinding agenda he carries as a product of the Braylon debate from a few years ago.</P>

and WRs working back to the ball on a dig route or something like that, which is what most of those were on, when you have to work back and get to the ball its not that bad of a pass.. its just excuses for the eli haters

Why is it so hard to fathom that both a QB and WR can play poorly on the same play? It's not always one or the other, but most times both.

I agree completely, I'm well aware that many of the tipped passes are "partially" Eli's fault for bad placement.

the point I'm trying to make is if it's a bad pass but the WR can still get his hands on the ball it does becomes his responsibility to keep the ball from being intercepted.

Why is it so hard to fathom that both a QB and WR can play poorly on the same play? It's not always one or the other, but most times both.

again ur taking this somewhere that nobody else is...

its very simple.. It may not be a great ball, it may not be this it may not be that, but bottom line if the ball gets to the WR and it hits him in the hands its his job to make the play...

especially for these specific balls we're talking. There was not huge atheltic play needed, jump and catch the ball and dont have it bounce off or thru ur hands

at the very least don't let it be picked off, if you wanna say you couldn't make the catch because of the placement fine, whatever, but every receiver should know that tipping the ball "up" especially in the middle of the field, is unacceptable.

cuz in order for it to work with credit card machines it has to be an accepted card company.

Other than that you can just do an ATM card, but it doesnt have any purchasing abilities really.
Although according to my little brother who only has a regular ATM card, sometimes at places that take your pin, you can make a purchase that way. ive never tried it.
Other than that, all visa does is supply the plastics. we service those particular cards though.</P>

yea just be careful, because a common misconception is that a debit card is a "credit card"...people think that since places ask "debit or credit" means if they do credit, they dont have to have the money...and can pay it later like you do with say, your AmEx card or other random Visa cards.

if a card says check card, or debit card, itONLY worksout of your checking account. it technically has no regular credit card function other than the fact that it swipes like one. lol

but yes, with a visa debit card you can literally buy **** anywhere....
i've become so accustomed to it, that the only time I use cash is if I'm going to the bar, and im worried about running up a ridiculous tab.(call it a self control issue....but its more a "i would like to buy all my friends and I 15 jaegar bombs please")...lol, I cant do that if i only have $60 on me haha</P>

i've become so accustomed to it, that the only time I use cash is if I'm going to the bar, and im worried about running up a ridiculous tab.(call it a self control issue....but its more a "i would like to buy all my friends and I 15 jaegar bombs please")...lol, I cant do that if i only have $60 on me haha</P>

I will discuss this with the talented young employee this week. Thx for the info.

MH, just finished last night's Californication ep...

Zoey Kravitz's cover of Alice in Chains - Would? was ****ing awesome(in Becca's Band)....and i usually dont like chicks in rock, but i loved it. In fact I went online to find out if she actually had a band, which i didnt find, HOWEVER, they already released a season 4 soundtrack including 3 Queens of Dogtown tracks, one being "Would?"

Snoop....</P>

well his career was in the toilet anyways...so luckily for him, it wasnt career suicide, it was just the most ridiculous thing ever...</P>

Very funny video, yes snoop.
CU-Question? What happened to the days of a debit card attached to your checking/accounts without Visa/Mastercard being involved?

IE: If I were to get a debit card for my cu account , why is visa involved? Can I have the sole debit benefits without an additional credit card?
</P>

cuz in order for it to work with credit card machines it has to be an accepted card company.

Thanks, JP. Yes, I was looking at it at your CU- So Visa is the name on the plastic...nothing more. It's a free service with no additional charges from the CU? If I chose, I could add visa charge ability at a later time, but for now it would serve purely as a debit card to be used anywhere, stores, online etc?
</P>

yea just be careful, because a common misconception is that a debit card is a "credit card"...people think that since places ask "debit or credit" means if they do credit, they dont have to have the money...and can pay it later like you do with say, your AmEx card or other random Visa cards.

if a card says check card, or debit card, itONLY worksout of your checking account. it technically has no regular credit card function other than the fact that it swipes like one. lol

Thanks for bringing that up...those belts are cool. I saw that belt over his shoulder when he had the lombardi in his hand. Does anyone have a pic of that belt?

My buddy got one of those at a lifting meet once, it resembled the heavyweight belt with the red/white/blue and the circles to the sides.

I expect Justin Tuck to enter the field on opening day with his fireman helmet and a Eli Manning championship Interception belt.....the fine print on the belt will be:

eli's interceptions were the cause of his receivers, it's not Eli's fault, he lives in a glass house.

kinda makes me think....

of the Giants games I've been to, the Giants are undefeated....

and I only recall the Yankees losing like 3 games of the god-knows-how-many I've been to.

the roughest one was the last year in the old stadium, Boston series. Moose was pitching pretty well, but he kept walking Youkilis, and then twice in a row gave up 2 run HRs to Manny. Monstrous ones too! I was at the left field wall, and both went well over my head.

Dezz, I think I am getting your full persona, that you want to portray it. It's actually quite clever and impressive. The yankees avi is perfect for you. Remember Tim Allen's show, Home Improvement? Pam Anderson, actually entered our living rooms for the first time on that show. Anyway. I think you might be Tim's next door neighbor, Wilson.

You there, but not there. The ever elusive DezzzR, or should I say.... Wilson?

They are beautiful animals. The doodles are good to train as well. Great around kids, very tolerant personality. She's a cross between the poodle and the golden retriever, so I see qualities of both. Picture a shaggy golden retriever walking on their hind legs when they see something they like outside. Wtf? lol. if you paid close attention, bill got him to contradict himself. "were losing jobs here in america"...."were creating more and more jobs everyday". and i found it rather fitting when asked what the hardest part about this job, obama started talking about how hard it was cause people recognize him and always see him as thee pres. the guy only cares about himself.
when bill asked bush the same question he said "sending young americans to war."

the interview actually made me like obama as a person somewhat but confirmed what i already knew about him as a leader.

I would LOVE Paul Ryan to run but he won't, I'm thinking Romney's going up and going down this time....I wish we could have kept the momentum we had a few months ago though, everything is settling down because of Obama's "supposed" move to the center....

you know Morehead it might backfire on him, he hasn't done enough moving to the center yet to convince anyone of anything, there have been rumors of lowering taxes on large corporations (which is a good thing) but his base will abandon him if he does something like that...

that said the #1 thing Obama has proved so far over his presidency is he's very good at standing up infront of the media and telling everyone one thing while he does the opposite...it's likely even if he DOES move to the center with some of his policies....most people will never know.

Repubs will put up a scrificial lamb this go around. the best GOP talent will be ready by 2016.</P>

</P>

It really doesn't matter what our President does. his hands are tied by the GOP House. All he can do is try to work together with Boehner and get some fiscally responsible things done. The American people likedeliberative progress, not legislation jammed down their throats.</P>

And Paul Ryan is definately a rising star. One of the smartest guys in Washington.</P>

the interview actually made me like obama as a person somewhat but confirmed what i already knew about him as a leader.

Exactly what I thought.....

it was cool he actually knew what he was talking about when it came to sports and I thought Bill was a **** when he was busting obama for not wearing a tie, and overall Obama just came off as a cool dude.

but when it came to substance he was all wrong, it was catch phrases or avoidance, nothing of substance, and a lot of outright lying...and Dezz is right he contradicted himself quite a few times, I was especially perturbed by his dismissal of a court ruling on his health care bill....

he's not "allowed" even as the president of the united states to override a court ruling on constitutionality.

whoa you actually said something I agree with.

Bush got elected partially because he was a "likable" guy.

but Obama got elected because of that too, as well as the fact that electing him as the first African American President made many people feel "happy" about making history so they didn't even really look into what his policies really were.

i'd actually agree with that as well

Healthcare was probably his biggest platform to a degree and people seemed to got pissed hwen he put focus into that.

But the realtity of it is that Obama was voted in because of the job Bush did to this country. The debt, the war, and all of that. The damage he did set us back YEARS. It will come out in history that no matter what OBama did here, it would be a no win situation.

When he gets re-elected hopfully he'll get a lil more brasin

No, The war is not ruining this country, the war is a necessary evil.

whats ruining this country (the economy in general) is the social spending, and the regulation on big businesses, the bail outs...pretty much the reason our economy is going and has been going down the tubes is because the government is getting involved with the free market system...they are breaking it....they need to back the **** out of it....and it WILL fix itself...it always does, that's why its the best system in the world.

plus War doesn't really put as great a strain on the economy as you think jobs and the economy as a whole generally see's an uptick during war time if you look through history....the war is not killing the economy.....government spending on things like the stimulus bills, healthcare...along with their regulations on oil companies and banks are what put us here.

Thats why he's meeting with the Chamber of Commerce. he realizes the only way to truly grow an economy is to encourage and reward investment and innovation.</P>

This is Economics 101 that has been the backbone of the American free market system since the days of Adam Smith and "The Wealth of Nations". Its an inconvienient truth that the left needs to constantly relearn every once in a while after the Keyansians get there way.</P>

This is why we are the most prosperous nation in the history of the planet. We lost our way for a few years here, but it seems that our President is willing to change. Time will tell.</P>

</P>

just curious, what would the republicans of done different that could of changes our direction in this quicksand that we were put in by bush?

What was the big thing that Obama did or didn't do, that the Republicans would of done right that would of made that change?
</P>

The republicans are just as stupid as democrats. They deserved to get thrown out when they did. Quite honestly they acted like democrats. Now they "claim" they have seen the light, they have admitted their mistakes and well will just see.</P>

The entire economic collapse was due to one and only one thing. The reduction in lending standards. It started with Clinton, was advanced by Bush to make "home ownership" a priority. Fanny and Freddie started buying up questionable loans and gave the banks the incentive to write very risky loans. No money down. Sub Prime.etc...This created a bubble in the market that drove housing costs up. Huge demand. It would have been fine as long as values stayed up. But since they were artificially high due to demand essentially created not by the market, but by artificial government tinkering, the market was destined to crash. Now all the banks were in chaos. There assett to debt ratio went upside down. </P>

Thats when the Sec of Treasury came to Congress and said that without $700B, the entire economy would crash. Fanny and Freddie were the cause of it all. The financial reform bill signed last year did NOTHING with those 2 semi government institutions.</P>

Hopefully the GOP will have the guts to do whats right. Real financial reform. Its easier for them since Freddie and Fanny are supporters of Dems and not the GOP.</P>

the concept was always there. This is why I hate the Republican response because you guys play shell games. Like honestly you expect overnight change and then u play shell games with complaining about something, then once it may be handled or situation you'll go to something else. Granted I understand that we all do tha tto a degree but the truth is you guys really try to down play the state this country is in, until u try to take shots at Obama then we hear about how bad the country is

Where is recognition for the way this country was handed to him? Its all down played, you try to just pin it on him.

Daven just tried telling me that Obama spent more than Bush did. Are you out of your ****in mind? We are in a recession. Spending is automatically going to pick up, how could it not?

great article for u mutts to read... and i would love to hear ur disputes from it.

But the realtity of it is that Obama was voted in because of the job Bush did to this country. The debt, the war, and all of that. The damage he did set us back YEARS. It will come out in history that no matter what OBama did here, it would be a no win situation.

Even if I accepted that Bush was at fault for our economic situation before Obama (and I don't) it's still a fact that Obama has "INCREASED" spending with the stimulus bills and Heath Care more then Bush did over his entire presidency....

you want to piss and moan about spending Obama pissed away more American Tax money then Any president in the history of our country....and it's not even close...(Including Bush)

When he gets re-elected hopfully he'll get a lil more brasin

god MORE Brasin? the dude has spent more in 3 years then Bush did in 8! and you want Obama to be MORE brasin... I don't get it....do you want him to bankrupt our country?

thank god recently he's been moving to the center, he really has no choice, our country's economy will fail if he doesn't, Extending Bush's Tax rates was a good first step...but it's only going to prolong the situation we are currently in, if we really want the economy to turn around (and that seems to be America's biggest concern atm) it's plainly clear by this point (even to Obama) that we need to turn to fiscal conservatism....AKA LESS spending.....which is totally the opposite of what Obama's agenda was when he was elected..

pretty much he tried it his way and failed..failed so horribly, so tremendously that he's being forced to do something he never wanted to do...just to keep America on life support till the next election....so he can get four more years to REALLY destroy us.

lol bottom line the war is what is ruining this country

and that is was demolished the economy along wtih no policing of things like mortgages

how much has this war cost?
and your going to lay it at one mans feet? it take congress to go to war. you can say "he lied", i dont believe that, especially since congress has access to the same intel the president has regarding foreign policies. now lets look at some quotes from politicians and those who voted to go to war. and look at the dates of those quotes.

<span><span style="font-family: Arial;">"Saddam Hussein has been engaged
in the development of weapons of mass destruction
technology which is a threat to countries in the region
and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection
process." <u>nancy polosi dec. 6th 1998.

</u></span></span><span><span style="font-family: Arial;">"Hussein has ... chosen to spend
his money on building weapons of mass destruction and
palaces for his cronies."
<span style="font-size: 85%;"> - Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 |</span></span></span>
<span><span style="font-family: Arial;">

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is
working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and
will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five
years ... We also should remember we have always
underestimated the progress Saddam has made in
development of weapons of mass destruction."
<span style="font-size: 85%;"> - Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 |</span></span></span>

<span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> "I will be
voting to give the President of the United States the
authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam
Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of
mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to
our security."
<span style="font-size: 85%;"> - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 |</span></span></span>

<span style="font-style: italic;">We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.</span>

<span style="font-size: 85%;">ľAl Gore, Sept. 23, 2002</span>
<span><span style="font-family: Arial;">
"In the four years since the
inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam
Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and
biological weapons stock, his missile delivery
capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid,
comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members
... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam
Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage
biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying
to develop nuclear weapons."
<span style="font-size: 85%;"> - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 |

</span><span style="font-size: 85%;">

No, The war is not ruining this country, the war is a necessary evil.

whats ruining this country (the economy in general) is the social spending, and the regulation on big businesses, the bail outs...pretty much the reason our economy is going and has been going down the tubes is because the government is getting involved with the free market system...they are breaking it....they need to back the **** out of it....and it WILL fix itself...it always does, that's why its the best system in the world.

plus War doesn't really put as great a strain on the economy as you think jobs and the economy as a whole generally see's an uptick during war time if you look through history....the war is not killing the economy.....government spending on things like the stimulus bills, healthcare...along with their regulations on oil companies and banks are what put us here.

lol necessary evil? Are u out of ur mind. Do you know how much money we would have stacked right now if we didn't let Bush dupe us into that war.

Dude that war has cost us maybe 3 trillion dollars. Obama has MAYBE spent 900 billion, in dealings with a recession in whcih spending will automatically go up as history would show (and common sense)

just curious, what would the republicans of done different that could of changes our direction in this quicksand that we were put in by bush?

Really Clinton started it, but Bush did nothing to stop it...

The beginning of it all was the government getting involved in banking, the banks, the banks were given incentives (Tax Breaks among other things) to give loans to people who couldn't afford to pay the loans back....

(That was Clinton BTW Matt)

Bush did nothing to correct it, and ignored the signs showing that it was going to be a problem.

What was the big thing that Obama did or didn't do, that the Republicans would of done right that would of made that change?

The Stimulus Bills are the #1 thing IMHO....when you are hemorrhaging money you don't increase spending to get yourself out of the hole, you CUT spending....but instead he asked for not one but two stimulus bills...and these bills are absolutely HUGE spending bills...and they were implemented terribly...things like 200k given to a guy who made sheet metal fish decorations to place in the median of a highway up in Connecticut...how the **** does that help the economy.....

on top of that they introduce a Health Care plan that will also increase the deficit while our unemployment is rocketing....

Matt if you go to AC and you bring all the money you have....and all the sudden you only have enough money left for rent and food what would you do...

would save that money and pay my rent and buy the food I need....

Obama choose to take the rent and food money and put it ALL on Red.....the wheel was spun and he lost....he lost BAD...and now we are scrambling....

dont worry pappy, i dont peg him as the voting kind...

what are you talking about, that's the lefts core voting base...you should know, you vote right along with him :P
seriously our generation is brainwashed.
anyone see oreilly shred bam the other night?[:)]
That was good, I like bam's line" What I think is true, what I think is the truth....."
if you paid close attention, bill got him to contradict himself. "were losing jobs here in america"...."were creating more and more jobs everyday". and i found it rather fitting when asked what the hardest part about this job, obama started talking about how hard it was cause people recognize him and always see him as thee pres. the guy only cares about himself.
when bill asked bush the same question he said "sending young americans to war."

the interview actually made me like obama as a person somewhat but confirmed what i already knew about him as a leader.

lol its funny u'd find that contradicting even tho its not...

saying were losing jobs in america nad we're creating jobs can both be true. And I think it is.

Because matt, the regulation...the government interference under Clinton and Bush is what CAUSED the problem....if no regulation happen...if noone did anything... we never would have been in this mess....that's why we don't want regulation.

You've pinpointed something and in the same breath attacked me for saying I want more regulation

you don't understand....it's the regulation that CAUSED the lending problem....they were given incentives BY THE GOVERNMENT to do the wrong thing, to lend to those who couldn't pay it back.

No question that the economy was a mess when he came to office. I'm sure its the last thing he wanted to face. But the truth is he made is worse than it needed to be. $787B was complete silliness.</P>

There is 2 trillion dollars sitting on the sidelines in the economy right now and our President has been unable to instill the confidence needed to unleash it. Instead he borrowed our future from our largest economic competitior to fund a bunch of pent up retread projects sitting in Nancy Pelosi's desk.</P>

He promised that the stimulus would keep the UR below 8%. It jumped to 10% instead. Thats what has always happened. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.</P>
