league and the cable provider announced a long-term agreement Tuesday
that will keep the NFL-owned channel out of Comcast's premium sports
tier of programming and ended a lengthy battle between the companies.

This is great news for all Comcast customers. No more paying for this ****. Now I will get to see the Giants on Thanksgiving without having to go to a bar. Thank you baby jesus.

funny story of the day. i work as a leasing specialist for a property management company but today im also handling maintenance calls for the guys too and this indian lady called hysterically crying because there was water coming from her bathroom ceiling and leaking all over the place. i could barely understand her but i felt so bad i had the guys go over right away to see how bad it was and they said they thought it was a leak from the upstairs apartment. so they went and knocked on the door, no answer so they let themselves in and it was an oreintal couple banging in the living room... LOL the wife decided to get in the shower and the hubby followed her in and the must have gotten side tracked and ended up in the living room and forgot to turn off the shower and left the curtain open.... lol its ALWAYS something around this place... but maintenance got a free show and the story had me cracking up soo i had to share.. lol

yo matt i started watching "lights out" on netflix, very good like you said. "THE KING of the Caucasian mountains" lol. the brothers the union kid from the wire. but yea hes a ******. first show iv seen in a while were the family isnt bat **** crazy, and the parents arent cheating on each other. hopefully it stays that way and that annoying daughter(the one that parties) doesnt grow up to be a stupid spoiled ***** and ruin the family/show. happened with rescue me. seriously as soon as the daughter started getting more screen time that show went in the ****ter. i can deal with the other daughter cause shes genuinely worried about his memory loss.

The thing thats cool about this is that the Spurs are a team that hsould stay on the Map, the Lakers will always reload some how. The Clippers may be legit. he is a bonafied star. The FACE of the NHL. They were able to market through them.

Understand what having a player like Crosby does for your league.

Regardless of whether u think Ovechkin is better or not, makes no difference. Hes not marketable.

EVERY sport does better when they have a guy like Gretzky, Crosby, Jordan, Pujos, Ali type of guy in their league

But like I said football would be the exception. Due to the way football goes hand and hand with gambling, football will never have a true single face of the league. 22 starters on each side. It is the only exception.

When you have that one player who you can market, it makes everything else more interesting. Whether you realize your buying into it or not. Obviously this isn't directed to a guy like Kase, which is going to watch no matter what. Everybody has their die hards, but its not about the diehards that make it great. Its about getting the common fan and gaining their interest.

You can debate this all you want, but its common knowledge when you have a superstar as the face of your league (a real one) then your going to be more successful. Having a Sidney Crosby did wonders for the NHL because they were drastically in need of somebody like that. Had he not come along, there is no telling where the NHL would be today. But most certainly not as popular as it is

Lakers are still best in the West but we need another stud to keep us there in the next year or 2. Bynum is a wildcard...</P>

Yes, you actually ARE reading it wrong. Go time slot by time slot (to make sure the Stanley Cup was actually on) and it'll list the top 5 programs of each time slot from 730-1030pm. And from 8pm on (when the Stanley Cup started) its #2 after the NBA Finals in each time slot

As much as I hate that lil scumbag, Crosby can put the puck in the net as well as set up a nice goal for a teammate, so while Ovy has more talent putting the puck in the net he's not the best set up man so that will def take away from his point total..... Messier was only the points leader once I believe but he was head and shoulders above anyone that played in his time frame (yea Ill go so far and say he was a better overall player than Gretzky)

his impact really is bigger than you give him credit for.

NHL was not in a good place and the way they marketed him got young kids interested and starting building momentum. You guys haven't had anybody like this except Gretzky. Your far behind the other big 3

LISTEN...Crosby is THEE face of the NHL. He is the only person the casual fan knows. He is one of the main Reebok athletes. The only player you see on commercials. Every promo has him in it. The NHL has been dying with him out. They mainly only show Penguins games on network TV. SoortsCenter always starts with Penguins highlights if he played, then all the other teams They have had 4 winter classics. 2 have had the Penguins including the first one ever and most recent. I know you hate the guy Kase but you have blinders on. He.saved the NHL. Especially after winning that cup. You know I don't know much about hockey but I pay attention to all sports. Its the truth man.saved hockey is a bit much.. if you want to say increased popularity in hockey i'd agree.

You are right Bandy, saved to much but he did more than increase popularity.LOL, no way in hell did he 'save' the sport, but he did help the popularity, there's no denying that. Before crosby the pens were an ehh team cause they lost Lemieux and Jagar as well as Nedved so they were in limbo and even had financial troubles, but all of that once that lil scumbag came to town and was 'The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh' LOL


his impact really is bigger than you give him credit for.

NHL was not in a good place and the way they marketed him got young kids interested and starting building momentum. You guys haven't had anybody like this except Gretzky. <font size="5">Your far behind the other big 3</font>
so very true... i wish they would stop trying to chase this pipe dream of a golden network deal.. get rid of these sunbelt teams move them back to where they should..

It does suck that they dont have their deal with ESPN anymore but the quality of programming has skyrocketed since going on Versus, but I did like hearing Barry Melrose and seeing those insane mullets

Thank goodness the NHL isnt on FOX anymore, that was the worst thing to happen to hockey since Slap Shot 2

We need Don Cherry on ESPN then the NHL would be the #2 sport in the states, LOL

and besides there are still 3-4 teams failing in the US so i'm not sure we can even say Crosby saved Hockey or increased popularity.. looking at the SC winners over the last few years may have something to do with popularity aswell

And imagine if NY, Boston, (ugh) Philly or LA won the cup. The popularity would be back where it once was

The NHL should really trim the fat and move those teams to areas where hockey is really a big thing aka move teams back to Winnipeg and Quebec City
