Fridays collapse by Boston against Charlotte marked the first time in the Celtics HISTORY that they lost to a team 10 or more games under .500 after leading by 10 or more to start the 4th.... WOW Matt might be onto something

I think what MH is saying is that when the Sox came back from 0-3 against the Yanks that was a 7 game series.

A series that is won by one team 4 games to 2 is a 6 game series. Its a best of 7 format, but its not a 7 game series.

Why is this difficult?

Why must it be reduced to the soul-less and brutal attacks on Morehead? The purveyer of logic. The bearer of the fruits of all that is good.

In what universe is a series that has 6, and only 6 games, a 7 game series?

I know. In the little skewed world of Pizzlestick.

anyone have a netflix membership? I'm just curious to see if they have added a bunch of new streaming content like they said they were going to.
I cancelled my membership during the summer cuz it basically became me just waiting for new **** to come out. and I can download HD rips of movies a few weeks before they come out, so I didn't see the point anymore.
Anyone? Bueller?

I have it.

We exceed the 17.99 with on demand new movies each month. Is it true that with Netflix, it's unlimited flicks for 17.99.$ / month?

indeed sir....I paid for that plan, 3 movies at a time, unlimited rentals per month. there are cheaper plans with less dvds at a time also. If I do it again, im probably only going to do 1 rental at a time, since i dont have the free time i did when I originally joined, and it still gets you unlimited streaming content.

On a brighter note: I have my retirement month date set: 6/2028. 17 years left and 244,000 commuter miles left to drive. I just have to live long enough to see it. lmao.

And almost 1000 yards. As a matter of fact the combo of Nicks/Manningham had more TD's (20)than any WR combo in the NFL. That includes Maclin/Jackson.

Another disturbing stat--which troubles me all that much more as to why we fell short last year.

damn man, manningham had 9 tds this year. i thought he had like 6
if we have to pick one, smith or mario, who ya got, why?

why would we have to pick?
I'd always take smith....old reliable! Plus, if we didnt have manningham, we'd have nicks, so who cares. lol

because I think we'd agree that out of all three of our WRs we'd want to keep Nicks the most. They are all going to be due contracts. With the money we have vested every where else on our team, we won't have the cap to give 3 WRs real contracts. Manningham has earned a #2 possibly #1 WR money

Given Manningham's performance last season, especially when everyone else got hurt, I would say that a reasonable argument can be made that MM is our most valuable WR. He was the ONLY player to show up at GB and all he did was produce last year. If he was a starter all season, you could argue he would have been a pro bowl player.

And I'm a guy who loves Nicks. Manningham is a valuable player for our team. Steve Smith is a nice player, but Manningham has moved ahead of him in the priority order as far as I'm concerned.

Mannigham has had the skill to get that deep ball since he first came here. That skill should only get better. Great catch in that Redskins last game of the year by Manny for the Td.

I know that management is prohibited contact with the players and the players are not permitted on training facility property, but In spite of the lockout-If I were Eli, I would be meeting up with my O- line and doing practices, get together's on my own. Has anyone heard of any teams doing that?

damn man, manningham had 9 tds this year. i thought he had like 6
if we have to pick one, smith or mario, who ya got, why?

why would we have to pick?
I'd always take smith....old reliable! Plus, if we didnt have manningham, we'd have nicks, so who cares. lol

because I think we'd agree that out of all three of our WRs we'd want to keep Nicks the most. They are all going to be due contracts. With the money we have vested every where else on our team, we won't have the cap to give 3 WRs real contracts. Manningham has earned a #2 possibly #1 WR money

true....
as unfortune as that would be, I'd have to say Nicks and Smith are irreplaceable. How are we feeling about an offense without him? meaning our other WRs? I'm wondering what Barden would have had for a season had he not jacked his foot up...

speaking of Barden...last night, i saw my friend paste her pictures on FB of this weekend where she met Ramses while out...
shes huggin him, and shes not really that short, but literally came up to like his stomach lol....i laughed because...well...you know why...lol

Steve Smith is a nice player, but Manningham has moved ahead of him in the priority order as far as I'm concerned.
im going to have to agree with mh on this one. manningham could put up better number than nicks imo if he gets his routes down pat. guy is crazy fast and he showed this year he does have good hands which i was skeptical about last year.

i love the player Manningham has become... but compared to Nicks I dont think this is even up for debate

Smith is an entirely differen tWR and a guy that eli relies on and feels comfortable with. Manningham is going to be the oddman out. Its inevitable

I heard Smith say on Rome is Burning that Eli has set up sessions with the WRs

i think youre right on eli and smith. but given the looks nicks gets i think mario could put up similar numbers if not better. nicks is stronger and has better hands but mario is a lot faster. i want them all.

theres a reason nicks is getting those looks

Mario 16 games, 60 receptions 944 yards and 9 TDs

Nicks 13 Games, 79 receptions - 1052 and 11 TDs

cause nicks acted like smith when smith went down. mario was number 3 all year except the games nicks didnt play. nicks the go to guy. and

eli needs to stop staring down wrs as well. he does that a lot. sorry to side track.

i dont even get what you are trying to say?

How was Manningham the #3 when Smith was out?

How can you say Nicks was playing Smiths role when the games where he had alot amount of catches were games that Smith were still playing in?

There were only two real games where Nick's yards per catch were down and they were both against Philly.

The reality of it is that Manningham played the #1 lone WR for 3 games this year. His state line in those games were 3-61-1 TD, 2-36-0, 4-101-1TD. Good numbers, but not mind boggling.

The games where just Nicks or Smith were missing (just one of them):
10-91-1 TD, 3-24-0 TD, 8-113-2 TD, 4-132-1 TD....

i mean like I said hes a very good WR, but I mean his numbers when he had someone else there are far better than any other numbers hes had. Like I said he may get #1 WR money somewhere, but hes a #2 at best. And Nicks makes his own plays, you can't compare the two

why would we have to pick?

Given Manningham's performance last season, especially when everyone else got hurt, I would say that a reasonable argument can be made that MM is our most valuable WR. He was the ONLY player to show up at GB and all he did was produce last year. If he was a starter all season, you could argue he would have been a pro bowl player.

Nicks is definitely the playmaker if you dare compare the 2....
not to take away from Mario, because he's upped his game leaps and bounds clearly...
But he's not as good as Nicks...except faster? but speed is only a portion of that game...

I'm telling you guys, they are mailing it in until the playoffs. I may not agree with this strategy, but thats what they are doing. Getting ready for round 1.

cowards, quitters, and born losers....
nobody plays like this in professional sports.
Why can't you just admit that they are playing BAD BASKETBALL?? You rather admit that your team is full of quitters?

may i remind you how they mailed it in? They mailed it in by giving players breaks and sitting players and things of that nature

Did you know it would cost over $8300 to take a cab from West Philadelphia to Bel Aire Los Angeles? I really doubt that Will was flippin that fare....
One might argue that the cab he took was only from LAX to the Banks residence....but I mean, the song specifically says that after his said that he was movin with his auntie and uncle in bel air, that he then whistled for a cab which he then waited to get near.....
So I mean....the facts are there unless they decided to omit some important facts...which would be decieving to say the least....

because I think we'd agree that out of all three of our WRs we'd want to keep Nicks the most.

Steve Smith is a nice player, but Manningham has moved ahead of him in the priority order as far as I'm concerned.
im going to have to agree with mh on this one. manningham could put up better number than nicks imo if he gets his routes down pat. guy is crazy fast and he showed this year he does have good hands which i was skeptical about last year.

i love the player Manningham has become... but compared to Nicks I dont think this is even up for debate

Smith is an entirely differen tWR and a guy that eli relies on and feels comfortable with. Manningham is going to be the oddman out. Its inevitable
i think youre right on eli and smith. but given the looks nicks gets i think mario could put up similar numbers if not better. nicks is stronger and has better hands but mario is a lot faster. i want them all.

theres a reason nicks is getting those looks

And Nicks makes his own plays, you can't compare the two

youre right i mis spoke i meant manningham was number 2 majority of the year. obviously for whatever reason elis more comfortable throwing to nicks. i dont think that takes away from manninghams abilities. and manningham can make his own plays.

8 catches 113 yards 2 TD's

4 catches 132 yards 1 TD

4 catches 101 yards 1 TD

When he was THE GUY, he produced in spades.

You're not better than that Matt!

and again your wrong (your making a habit of it)

Nicks was out week 12, 13, and 17

Smith was out 10-13 and 15-17...

HENCE the only THREE games they were out together was weeks 12, 13, and 17

Weeks 10, 11, 15, and 16 it was Nicks and Manningham, hence Manningham was in the 2 spot so to speak

You are picking and choosing games based on some silly criteria. I'm telling you, at the end of the season, when injuries were killing the WR corps, Manningham stepped up and produced.

This picking and choosing games is silly. The last three games, once his role was clear, are the best arbitor of his abilities as a #1 guy.

no silly criteria.. when Smith and Nicks are playing u've admitted he was the #3. So obviously once one of them went down that would make him the #2. If they are both down, that would make them the #1

good fight, good night pappy

Doesn't work that way Matt. You know it. When Plaxico shot himself, Hixon went from 3 to 1. Roles change based on who's on the field.

I'm not saying that Nicks isn't a better player than Manningham, but you have to admit, when Manningham got the opportunity, he shined. 350 yards and 4 TD's in his last 3 games.

Has anyone heard of any teams doing that?

so are u suggesting that once Nicks was there, Manningham was the #1 over him? Your comparison is useless. Because say Plaxico came back the end of that season would you suggest that Hixon would of still been our #1 WR?

not to take away from Mario, because he's upped his game leaps and bounds clearly...
But he's not as good as Nicks...except faster? but speed is only a portion of that game...nicks is strong and has better hands. mario is faster, more explosive and finesse. i dont know i think theyre all on the same level. i think all our wrs are pretty much on the same level. they just bring different abilities to the table

to be honest, i dont know why the NFLPA needs to get involved with the actual events of the draft. it's not like anyone gets paid other than the venue it's held at....
do they just not want owners/managers getting near rookies?

It's a bunch of b.s

exactly theyre TRYING to stiff the owners. as a draftee my loyalty would belong to the people that write my check. the players are the ones locking out. the owners took the 18 game shed off the table, so whats the issue now? the REAL nfl draft is the most important day of their lives. lol whats the nflpa draft going to be like, "with the 1 st selection of the 2011 draft, the carolina panthers might pick............" lmao. theres nothing brilliant about it. more like childish and classless.

well that would be ignorant if ur in a union. Your loyalty should be to the ones that GET you your deals. The owners will cut u and cancel out your contract in a half second if something goes wrong.

The Players Union could DEFINITLY spice it up some how.. I mean just show the draft as it happens and do all the ceremonies there. Only thing is that you don't get to shake Goodell's hand.

I would do it bigger and better and have the place filled with current players, more rookies, and more fans...

Do it bigger. It can work anbd be successful as long as they get it live on TV somewhere

exactly theyre TRYING to stiff the owners. as a draftee my loyalty would belong to the people that write my check. the players are the ones locking out. the owners took the 18 game shed off the table, so whats the issue now? the REAL nfl draft is the most important day of their lives. lol whats the nflpa draft going to be like, "with the 1 st selection of the 2011 draft, the carolina panthers might pick............" lmao. theres nothing brilliant about it. more like childish and classless.

well that would be ignorant if ur in a union.

It can work anbd be successful as long as they get it live on TV somewhere
no my agent would be helping me getting my deal. the players union is worthless.

so it would be like a pre draft? just show all the players that might be drafted? it makes no sense and wont work. if it happens ill be shocked if they get more than 1 million viewers.

lol you got dez buying 250000 worth in chains and these players are holding out for more money, **** that. this is just like in the replacement " you know how much insurance is for a lamborghini?!"

your agent can't work unless the nflpa does its job... its a very simple chain of events. If the NFLPA doesn't do its job, then your agent is useless

I would imagine they are going to host an even just like the NFL does in real time, as the drafts going on and put it on a competing channel... no?

Dez Bryant is a rookie who is getting paid because of a ****ty rookie scale. He is not the majority at all and thats one thing that both sides DO agree on... that the rookie payment scale has to be changed
theyre ALL over paid.

not necessarily....

listen its a simple chain of events and we're back to square one at the moment to prove the point

To be honest the CBA has been changed and ended and opted out of so many times that its actually similiar to contract negotiations of a players agents and teams

Step one, which is where we are now, is between the NFLPA vs The Owners...

And thats how the players are looked after as a whole. Without this agreement reached, the agents are useless.

I'm not like stating opinion, thats how it works

I thought about that...but then i thought about how many games MLB owners can charge for what is it 81 games?
NFL can do 8? that does make things a bit more difficult i suppose....

if i went to every game at Yankee Stadium this year, average seat of $45(mezz/grandstand) it'd be $3654 for the season...
If i went to all 8 Giants games this season, average ticket price of $125(thats probably too low for mezz and 300s) that's only $1000...

thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. Go ask the Texas Rangers about that after they gave Arod that contract. They weren't able to pay it.

Welcome to business... if u can get more, get it

Thats all there is too it. Why would they bow down to the owners, they dont get guaranteed contracts and put their health on the line for the game. They are taking care of themselves because they can...

Regardless of what you want to believe, these are the guys that MAKE the NFL the NFL...

If they weren't the product AND the workers and if that wasn't significant, then the XFL, Arena Football, Canadian Football would all be relevent and the owners would be able to use Scabs.

i fail to see what the salary cap has to do with it? Yankees make more money, they spend the most... the Pirates dont make the most money, they spend the least. IT has absolutely everything to do with what the owners make

=\
I really can't make this **** up, this is what I'm hearing amidst the verbal diarrhea today:

Ellen's staples are not big enough
she doesn't belong in that dept, let her count pencils, what about aj only answers the phone?
the fart machine
Ginger better take off the rubber gloves
why do they make light bulbs, that you have to turn instead of just plugging them in?
My husband sucks, I want to move, my hair needs to be cut, i'm going to ****ing kill him,
Every single thing they do, needs to be discussed hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

etc, etc, etc/

I thinkits all simple, Mitre sucks. He showed sign but has never really been that good and we needed and OFer

Montero just didn't produce when he had his shot

I think we are preserving Colon for later in the year. He has alot of miles on the arm, don't want him throwin 200 inning this year or he'll be batting practice in september

I know im being a bit dramatic, but keeping Montero in the minors any longer is worse for him than it is beneficial. Cuz you already know the outcome...
One day in the summer we'll be pulling headlines, and something will say "Wilkes-Barre Yanks on a tear, Montero .330, 20 HRs,59 RBIs already....

Colon pitched great this spring.

The Yankees put all there effort in snagging Cliff Lee, and when that fell through they had no real plan b solution.

So they choose to pick up two players who are at the end of there careers.

Have you seen Montero this spring? He was awful at the plate. And his defense is not to good either. The Yankees are taking it slow with him, he will be in the bigs at some point this season.

throwing people out isnt the most important trait for a catcher. again why would the sox keep veritek around all these year? veritek threw out 13% of runners in 09. hes actually never been good at throwing people out.

with his bat... and with power... thats it

hes not hitting for average at all and he sucks behind the plate...
yes

throwing people out isnt the most important trait for a catcher. again why would the sox keep veritek around all these year? veritek threw out 13% of runners in 09. hes actually never been good at throwing people out.

because his pitchers actually like him?

Looks like I missed a day full of baseball talk.... Meh, LOL

Lets see if I can add anything, Mitre was nothing special, Posada shouldnt be our starting catcher, he's old, his bat has steadily decreased and while his arm and contact have suffered as well. He's still good for 15+ hrs but thats about it

.... Ugh baseball, LOL

wait, werent you the one also arguing that Posada wasnt THAT bad behind the plate? lol
Despite throwing out 14% of runners lol *cough*careerlow*cough*still calls a great game. why do you think boston kept verteck around?

moral support, since he never played? 112 ABs? yea ok...

his average is garbage from 06 on. they kept him cause he calls a good game. dont make me call mh in on this one. i feel gross just talking about the sox and mh.

uhhh you brought it up....why would I give a **** about Varitek?
Posada is old....and far past his prime, i mean i guess you could argue it, but youd be wrong.
