Morehead spent the better part of 7 hoursyesterday watching "The Longest Day" and "Midway" back to back on AMC.YOU MISSED PATTON!?!?!!lol

the longest day is great and needs to be remade. so does patton. actually, todays hollywood would probably ruin both.
</p>

I can't count the number of times I've seen Patton. Including about a month ago. I was especially interested in "The Longest Day" because I had just visited all the battle sites last month. And our guide referred to that film many times. It was actually very accurate, <u>obviously without some of the graphic gore you see in Saving Private Ryan.</u></p>i can watch patton over and over. he really was a genius. if ike gave him the fuel, he could of beat the russians to berlin. whats amazing was how he knew the russians would be our next enemy. and monty was a *****
did you see just utah and omaha, or did you see gold juno and sword as well? you really need to watch band of brothers.

what do you mean, over the top?

Did you see the Eastwood films "Flag of our Fathers" and "Lettersfrom Iwo Jima"??
I liked letters of Iwo Jima alot better than the first film (they are supposed to be a set. like, one is American POV, the other the Japanese POV happening at the same time).
I just felt like the American one has been done...I mean it was slightly different, and a good movie, but I liked the change of pace of the 2nd one.</P>

</P>

I haven't seen either one. I have had "Letters from Iwo Jima" recommended to me though.</P>

You know my resistance to anything new. I have to be convinced to see it.</P>

</P>

me too....but specifically towards television more so than movies. movies is pretty leisure because it's only a couple hours, but TV shows are such a time sink. When people are like "oh you should totally watch xxxxxxxx show! its so good!" im like yeaaaa probably not. thx tho lol</P>

colon threw a 4 hit shut out yesterday. i dont understand why some are so worried. i think the yanks are fine and i dont see sp as a real big problem. if we can get at least around 11 wins from garcia and nova we should be fine. and i think thats more than possible. who knows maybe hughes comes back strong as well, anyone herd anything on him? i see him in the dugout.

Colon has pitched great so far this season. </p>

The surgery Colon had last year seems to be paying dividend.</p>

it was already researched and that rumor was put to rest already I believe. I guess it was suggested that the procedure be filmed for that exact reason or something. MLB officials reviewed all that stuff about a week and a half ago.</P>

ugggh....I forgot that I let my neighboor "schedule an appointment" for her to give me some business presentation. these people are so weird, and they NEVER shutup. and I'm sure she will turn a 20 minute thing into an hour long ordeal. Originally when she asked while i was at work, i'm like..."well..what exactly are we talking here?" and shes like...welllll, its more visual, so I can't really get into it!
ugh....so im too nice to say no thanks....especially someone I see multiple times a week, I jsut hope she doesnt want me to spend money. I think I have her business card in my desk somewhere from a while back, maybe i should go see what its for lol

Oh, and Sunday was kind of a ****show.
we woke up at like 10, cleaned out all our buckets, went to the store, hanafords had 30 racks of bud light on sale for $16.99 ...we told everyone about it the day before, so we bought the last 4 cases (we later learned about 5 of our friends also went there lol). So we bought that, and about 16 bags of ice and went home.
it was my roomate, his gf (her bday) my other roomate and myself at the house at that point, about 1pm. my one roomate was telling us about his super ice water idea...so we listened...
you layer your buckets...case of beer, 2 bags, case of beer, 2 bags, case, 2 bags. THEN you get a big bucket fill it with like that cheap kitchen salt you can get for like 30 cents at the store, fill it with water, mix it up for a minute and then just pour it in the buckets.
Your logic says that salt will melt the ice, which is true, however the combination of the three makes it take much longer toraisethe temperature of the water, so although the ice will eventually melt, the water will stay VERY cold for HOURS! like at least 12 hours.

Anyway, we decided right then and there that we were playing flip cup...2 on 2. lol. sounds lame, but we are all super competitive, and it went from us "practicing" to us playing enough in a half hours time to go thru a 30 pack on our own &gt;.&lt;
we made dinner for everyone, but for some reason i started feeling like ****, and couldnt really drink much. i mean i got drunk, but i had to take it easy the whole night =\Sounds like an awesome weekend for you. If you testedthe salt,ice, water comboand it lasted for 12 hours-that's much longer than I have every sucessfully kept ice in a cooler. If does defy my first logic though. I think you went high tech this mem day.

Yes of course but that isn't what you were saying. My team was 5-10 when I predicted it. You all thought I was nuts.</P>

The Sox are going through a mini slump here after going on a 40 game tear. It happens. But the point is that their success has been tremendous after starting at 2-10.</P>

You all know that neither the Yanks or Rays will be able to hold them off in the long run. Its just a matter of time.</P>

And the ultimate point here is that I was exactly right in my prediction.</P>

Yes of course but that isn't what you were saying. My team was 5-10 when I predicted it. <FONT color=#0000ff>You all thought I was nuts.</FONT></P>

You will not find very many non Giants fans around the league who would agree with you. Gore has been injury prone, thats true. But as a pure back, Gore is an elite player. he was most of the SF offense last year.</P>

Thats nonsense. First of all, the reason he gets so many carries is because he's great. He is also a dynamic pass catcher as well. Something that Bradshaw lacks completely.</P>

Secondly, he has only played less than 14 games once. that was last year with a freak hip injury. And he still played 11 games. Of course he is a good back, but the reason he gets alot of carries is because they have no other runningback who is worth playing. </P>

For Gods sake Brian Westbrook is there #2 back. </P>

Speaking of steping up, maybe Gore can play a full season? Maybe he is unaware that there is a 16 game schedule. It's been years since he has finished a season. </P>

And speaking on receptions, Gore may be the better receiver, but Bradshaw did have 47 receptions last season. </P>

Wow, I don't think Dezz has any idea what he's talking about right now. Prior to his injury last season, Gore is UNQUESTIONABLY a top 5 running back. And undoubtedly better than Bradshaw.
Gore is an every down back playing on a perennial LOSER of a team, and puts up some of the best numbers in the league, and some of the best yardage from scrimmage.

I can't say enough about the guy to be quite honest. Assuming healthy, I'd take him in Blue in a SECOND!!!

Which comment is being a homer?</P>

What gives Frank Gore the edge over Bradshaw?</P>

Bradshaw has been a 2nd or 3rd string back, besides the past 2 years. </P>

Gore has been the only legitimate back in the 49er system. </P>

So are we living in the today? or few years ago?</P>

Because in today Bradshaw rushed for over 1,200 yards, where Gore had 800 yards. But yeah what happened? Gore got hurt. <FONT color=#ff0000>What a shock..</FONT></P>

<FONT color=#000000>If Bradshaw was not fumbling the ball every game, he would have kept the starting position at back. And was on pace to rush over 1,500 yards. </FONT></P>

I think he is durable for a guy his size. </p>

</p>

Hey I love Bradshaw. but he's just not the back that Frank Gore is. The guy will cross 10,000 yards for scrimmagethis season (if there is a full next season). Bradshaw is a nice player but spare me the "Gore isn't better than Bradshaw crap" And thats what it is.</p>

Pure crap. Your anti Morehead attitude is showing. It has to be that because its crazy to take the position you're taking.</p>

</p>

im not disputing your point as i think gore is better, but not by much. honestly the only attribute that gore has that ab doesnt is his rec skills. if ab ran in a 1 back system whos to say he cant put up similar numbers on the ground? besides 09,(4tds were against the seahawks and rams) gore doesnt score that many tds on the ground for elite status imo. and dont forget gore plays in a cream puff division.
</p>

If Bradshaw had to carry the load as much as Gore does, he wouldn't last half a season. Bradshaw is a guy that you have to suppliment to be productive. He ain't carrying it 25 to 30 times a game and surviving the NFL.</p>pure speculation.

So quick story...actually 2...i will split them up...
I had a half day yesterday, so I ran some errands. 2 of my least favorite places. The DMV, and to the mall because I had to pick up glasses that I ordered. So let's start with the DMV portion of my story...
Theres a dmv office in the city of poughkeepsie, but problem is it's hard to find parking without paying for it. so I decided to go to the wappingers office instead, because it's like 5 mins (if that) passed the mall.
So I go in, I have all the info i need for my car, grab the registration form (im re-registering my car), and im like oooook just need a pen. No pens...turn to the pen dispenser("we're out of pens, sorry"). So I'm like...well not my fault. I'll just wait. I go to the deli-style ticket dispenser, and take my number. my number gets picked after like 15 minutes, and I go up to the window. I tell her what im doing, and I ask her for a pen. she says "sir, the sign above the ticket dispenser says please have your forms filled out before taking a ticket", and i respond with,"that's true, except you have no pens, so I couldnt. This will only take a minute though". Without skipping a beat,"sir I'm going to have to ask you to go back, fill out your forms, and then get another ticket" So....I'm thinking, ok, it's not MY fault obviously, typically there are pens here by the buttload, but I'm not gonna cause a scene, and im not in a rush...fine. So I say "ok....well can I have a pen?" __ "sorry sir, we cant give out our pens, they get stolen too often, and we're very low as it is." WHAAATTTSSS!?!!!?!?
"So wait....you have no pens in the form area(paid for with our tax money)...cant be helped without my forms filled out...you wont give me a pen(paid for with our tax money)....so youre telling me I have to LEAVE the dmv...find a pen somewhere....and then come back before you'll help me?!?!"
"well sir...if you had a pen y---" "Nevermind.....I don't know why I pay you people..." (yea I dropped that gem...lol)</P>

end of story 1...to be continued...</P>

ooook, so I ended up leaving the DMV, clearing my head so I didn't flip the **** out on the dmv lady.
I went to the mall down the road. Backstory.... if you recall, back on St. Pattys day, a series of poor decisions led to my glasses getting absolutely destroyed, and I had to go get new ones the next day.
I went to a few places, but most didnt take my insurance and some said lenses had to be ordered. So I found a place that had what I wanted, and although the actual lenses I wanted had to be ordered, I could get the frames, and other similar lenses in the meantime (i wanted scratchproof, anti-glare/anti-reflective lenses). I chose super flexible frames. joke of the day was telling people I needed frames that could really take a punch. lol. The place was actually really expensive, but I obviously needed to leave that day with glasses.
So someone called me from the place a week or 2 ago, and was like "hey your order is here, come pick it up whenever youre free"....I had honestly totally forgot, seeing as how that was over 2 months ago.
So I go...walk in, tell them my name. they go get my order, and they are actually glasses. I thought they were just getting the lenses, and swapping them out with the frames i had already purchased. So I put the ones im wearing on the counter, and try on new ones. everything is fine. she slides me a case, and says heres a case, im very sorry for the delay, im like oh its fine. Im walking out, open the case, and she put the original glasses back in the case. SCORE!! thats like $700 in glasses, for $300 lol. Jokes on them...I forgot about the order.
Oh.....and I stole a pen so I could go back to the DMV, Trollololololololololol

Oh.....and I stole a pen so I could go back to the DMV, TrollolololololololololLot of info, but you tell good stories, so I was able to follow it logically. First--I remember the St. Patty's day masacre, but didn't know you needed glasses. The Dmv is a creature in and of itself. Things are not the same there. The "normal" rules of society do not exist once you pass thru their doors. I have no idea why that is, but I have accepted that. The pen story is typical for the DMV--good job leaving and really not losing it.

My Driver's id expires in a few day's. I needed a eye exam in order to renew. I didn't want to pay for an exam and it had been over 2 years since my last one. I dreaded having to go to the DMV to take an eye test and renew. I call the place where I get my glasses last week and they told me to come down, they will test my eyes, sign off on the dmv eye form and I can mail it all in with my check. Booyah-avoided the twilight zone aka DMV yet another time. I have managed to not walk into that place for many years.

lol thx. people say they love the way I write my stories, spare no detail, etc...
yea dude, i guess it makes me kind of mad that a place funded by tax payer dollars, people whos salaries ARE PAID by tax dollars, don't really try very hard to help you...

I HAD to go, because for some reason, even though they mail my stuff to my mom's address (which is my legal address for most purposes), everything they print has an OLD address from like 4 years ago, so online it keeps telling me change of addresses have to be done by form.
AND OF COURSE, my registration yesterday....STILL printed with the wrong address....whatever...</P>

our part time greeter is already here, she opened for some reason.

<U>BoSox’s Dice-K reportedly to undergo Tommy John surgery
</U></P>

Daisuke Matsuzaka, who has been on the disabled list since May 18, has reportedly elected to undergo Tommy John ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow. The Red Sox’s 30-year-old right-hander will inform the team Thursday about the surgery, which will sideline him for at least 12 months, the expected recovery time for the procedure.

Anyone hear from MH this morning? Hope all is well...I heard global warming touched down in his area last night. Two people died in his town. Please check in ASAP to let us know if all is well sir!!!!!! In other news- Thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Robustelli and the Robustelli family..</P>

Thanks Pats. Tornados all around last night. One of my buddies had one pass right down his street in another part of Westfield. Drove through Springfield this morning and the traffic was slow on 91 because everyone was looking over onto Main Street to see all the roofless buildings and other damage.</P>

June 1st will go down in history in Western Mass. This doesn't happen to us very often.</P>

</P>

glad everything is ok.
Yea thats extremely abnormal weather. this year had been brutal =\</P>

Good to know your still with us MH
</P>

Believe it or not I actually went to our golf league for 5:00 because it seemed that the storm had passed. Then right around 5:15 another storm developed right over us. We obviously came in but they actually waited until after 6 to cancel.</P>

We had a rehersal planned for right after league but our drummer is a volunteer for FEMA and was called in. Our bass player and I played for a little while but I went home when new storms popped up and I was concerned for my wife.</P>

ohhh man!!! this is so good!!!
remember how i was complaining about how our part timers never work their scheduled shifts? and how they dont have to use their PTO, they just switch days? WELL TODAY IS THE BACKLASH!!!

I get to work at 930, our lead manager, one who runs about 4 branches comes in. she's a hardass. very strict, and definitely a presence. She walks in at the same time.
our part time greeter is already here, she opened for some reason.
another part timer literally follows me in.....hmm thats odd.
one of our full timers had a doctors appointment...left at the same time, said he'd be back in an hour and a half.
at 11, ANOTHER part timer comes in, in addition to the full timer who was supposed to close tonight, and then the one at the doctors appointment comes in 5 mins later! lololololol.
so 5 full timers (who are always here during the day....and THREE of our FOUR part timers are here....WHILE OUR LEAD MANAGER IS IN THE BRANCH!!! like it's so great...it's catching up to them and she's going to snap once our manager comes in in a few minutes.
people working whenever they want? mmmmkkkkkkkSoooooooo............? Is there a closed door meeting going on regarding staffing right now?
</P>

lol, idk, i saw my manager in there with the lead...
But, I took it upon myself to find a side project work on with a coworker. the less we are seen, and busier we stay, the less scrutiny we take. lol
So I was MIA for about 45 mins</P>

These guy's organize a dinner contest to see who can find the biggest freak. I found it hilarious. They ended up setting the guy's house on fire where the dinner was.

yea but its frustrating when nobody else is hitting numbers and crapping out fast...

not even hitting secondary numbers. I'm always on the pass line then play 6 and 8. If 6 or 8 are one of the numbers then i'm alway sonthe 9....

typically i may play one more number and stack my odds on the pass line if i got a hot roller

that sucks. there's hardly any talent at my branch to begin with. but the kid in our teller office took a lateral movement, so maybe we can fill it with an attractive young female for my benefit.</p>as long as you don't take any from my branch &gt;LT&lt;

we better sweep the Eagles for the rest of plax's existance in the NFL

i really don't want to face him, but if we do that secondary better ****in come to play
</P>

if the Giants showed no interest, I find it hard to have any negative feelings toward Plax. pretty rough though if it happens.
We need a sweep of philly. i'd say they are likely the clear cut favorites in our division right now, and I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!!!</P>

why does anybody mention Jason Avant as a reason why the Eagles shouldn't get plax? Thats what i dont get
</p>

Because he is a solid 3rd wr</p>

Played in the west coast offense for years now, good blocker. And is reliable on 3rd down. </p>

Plax <u>never </u>played in the west coast offense, and it's well known he is not the hardest worker in practice. Takes time to learn the scheme of that offense. </p>

hes a decent WR3. His numbers really aren't that staggering.. Wouldn't even be a comparison to plax.

If The Eagles don't go after plax thats fine, but Jason Avant wouldn't be the reason. <u>Hes is an average at best WR</u>
i agree with your overall opinion but plax is too at the moment, he could be a complete non factor for whoever winds up playing for.
very possible, this season could be his time to find his groove again and get in game condition. If he's gonna break out I'm thinking it will be 2012
he might not even see that much playing time 20 to 20. he might just be a redzone threat. plax was never the fastest.

na thats crazy talk... all the attention Maclin and Desean get? Adding plax to that, they'd be fools not to keep him out there as much as possible

Why would the Eagles want Plax?</p>

They have Jackson, Maclin, Avant, as there 3 wr's</p>

he probably will for the first year and even still i bet he'd come close to the production avant had last year - and thats on an off year and figuring hes healthy
</p>

What makes you think Plax can be productive?</p>

It sure didn't seem that way in 08</p>

And now he has not played football in over 2 years, and father time is catching up on him. </p>

</p>

Well for one, he was banged up and two double teamed all game....

NO team, left Plax with only one CB on him. He still would of had about 900-100 and 8-10 TDs

thats with a running game that was dominating so well that we never even had to throw the ball

That's pure speculation. </P>

Your living off the Plax in 07</P>

He will be 34 in August, can you name any wr's that played at a high level at that age?</P>

Besides Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, TO, Hines Ward</P>

Possibly correct. He can sure get high in the end zone though

lol, well then those are bad examples, if you just named 3 active players....</P>

I see no reason why Plax cant continue to be effective if he gets adequate play time.</P>

How are they bad examples?</P>

TO is a work out freak, Randy Moss will go down as the top 10 wr all time. </P>

And Hines Ward is one of the most complete wr's the past decade. </P>

A good majority of fans think that Plax will come back and be like the old plax. I hate to break it to you guys but this is a young mans game, I know talent does not disappear. But he is in a bad situation with not playing and having the issues of a lockout. </P>

If we are just talking about him being utilized just in the redzone, then I think he will be a weapon for some team. But if a team is looking for a player who can get 70-90 receptions and 1,000 + yards, 10 + touchdowns they might aswell look elsewhere. </P>
