What is there not to like?

He's skating on thin ice in the NFL now, he is 34 years old so is time is short.

The only person he had an issue with on the Giants is Tom Coughlin, and from what it sounds like the front office is letting Tom know to put the b.s to the side.

I for one would like to see what he can offer for our offense. He gives our offense a whole new look.

why

if they can work it out then lets do it

Fire would be not even trying, apparently the players went to management about it. AKA over TCs head. If they did that, then TC has to try and make it work

its a unique situation, but u dont want to lose the players over not giving Plax a shot if he deserves it

yea maybe if Tom could of managed a win or two without him, we wouldn't be in this position

but Plax better readjust his attitude. Thats the one thing that he hasn't seemed to of done in the interviews i've heard

cause he didnt learn a thing in prison. hes got a problem with authority. showing up late/ if he even went to practice, his recent remarks, the philly hat, all that left a bad taste in my mouth. i give it till week 5, him and tc will be going at it again. plus the guys 34 and hasnt played in 2 years. when he was released you wanted nothing to do with him and hated him as well.

eh i even dont' see that happening to be honest

i think they could get same production for cheaper out of Moss or TO

they have some other things they have to do. Jenkins and somebody else retired - Cromartie is gone from what i've read. I think hes gonna end up in Houston..

i just saw that too. ugh that would suck ****. espn said jets are tight on cap so he probably wont make as much as houston. and they showed a clip of sanchez sayin hed and everyone on the team including revis (fat chance) would take a pay cut. ooook. believe it when i see it.
I hope they do sign him. Go ahead and break dat bank...lol. They are in trouble with the cap already. They can only cover two recievers. If they lose thier pass rush to get him? BE MY GUEST. They will be junk in two years and Rexy boy will be jobless and still looking for a ring.....

ur ****in nuts man

if i were u i'd be PRAYING for that not to happen
Leave my nuts outta this...lol.

I really don't see how they would pull it off without chopping off some key players. Everybody thought TO and Ocho were gonna light it up when they were on the same team. How did that work out?

comparing to a Marvin Lewis offense to a Rex Ryan defense is like comparing Michael Jordan playing basketball and baseball
That was not the intent at all. What i was saying was that you can have two of the greatest at a certain position, but if you do not improve, or actually decline at the other 51 positions, it really does'nt make your team that much better.

The only way i would see them doing that would depend greatly on the league approving them to restructure "dirty's" contract while extending Harris and losing other key players such as Brad Smith and a few other free agents they have now.

They would basically be replacing Cromartie with Ash and automaticly losing a few key players now, borrowing on the future cap, and tying huge future money on a few players.

If they want to sell out the future to go for it this year? Go right ahead....Sounds like a desperate move to me.......

well its looking like they are getting these guys and the banks aren't breaking - its a scary thing

yea man they are going for it right now... they have a lot of young cheap talent locked up...

i don't think they are in as bad of shape as u are making it seem

Nnamdi already said he'd leave money on the table to go to a contender

Apparently Sanchez and Revis said they would restructure. Holmes already took less money

Smith is going to get overpaid some where...

sports an impressive 65-47 (.580) record in seven years with the Giants,
but he may need to make the playoffs to earn another extension with
consistent rumors of Bill Cowher lurking in the shadows.

Carolina’s DeAngelo Williams (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7776/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7776/news) and Ahmad Bradshaw (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8504/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8504/news) of the Giants are the best of the bunch.

Before he was placed on injured reserve in
mid-November with a foot injury, Williams kept his place as the
Panthers’ feature back, even with almost no passing offense to speak of
and Jonathan Stewart (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8790/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8790/news)
nipping at his heels. Williams is a pure power back who can push a pile
of defenders and take linebackers to the woodshed. Bradshaw took over
more and more of the Giants’ running game when the formerly
mega-powerful Brandon Jacobs (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7286/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7286/news) started to lose effectiveness, and his well-rounded skill set should make him a very appealing target on the market.

Pure power or impressive versatility – which does your team need, and who might fit best in the backfield?

2010 stats: 276 carries, 1,235 yards, 4.5 yards per carry, 8 touchdowns

Inside running: Runs frequently out of I-formation for
Carolina, but seems to be more effective in single-back sets where he
can analyze gaps on the fly. Follows fullback blocks well at times, but
takes too long to get up to speed and hit the hole. Active and
aggressive in finding gaps and trying to blast through with power when
he does get to the line. Tough and determined runner after first contact
– especially if he gets past the front line and is blasting past
linebackers, he will fight for extra yards. Persistent power back who
likes to wear a defense down over time. Can make quick cuts at
linebacker depth to elude defenders.

Inside running: For a “shifty” back, Bradshaw is surprisingly
willing to stand up to contact, bounce off defenders and fight for extra
yardage. Outstanding and constantly opportunistic cutback runner who
will make the most of the smallest opening – he’ll turn quickly to gain
extra yards against the grain. Patient in letting his blocks develop and
quick to reach top speed in a straight line. Very tough to tackle at
linebacker depth and beyond, especially between the hashmarks, because
he’s constantly angling for space. His quick feet allow him to cut on a
dime and maintain functional downfield speed. Very mean and aggressive
after contact, which is good and bad: He’ll punish defenders, but also
is prone to fumble more than you’d like.

Outside running: A better straight-line runner outside than he
is at cutting back – lack of short-area speed could be the issue there.
Great impact runner when he gets up to speed downfield; very tough to
stop when he has a full head of steam. Likes to cut outside on fake
passes to handoffs. When he’s not set upon immediately, he has the
ability to churn through short spaces and get upfield.

Outside running: Great at bouncing off his blocks, or slipping
off to find another gap outside if one closes up. When following blocks
outside or heading off-tackle on a designed play, Bradshaw is smooth
but not blazingly fast – it takes him a bit of time to hit optimal speed
and he’ll lose ground to outside linebackers and ends, whereas quicker
backs will hit the edge and go. Good at fighting linebacker and
defensive backs downfield; he doesn’t have to slow down to deliver a
blow.

Blocking: Williams is a willing blocker when required, but
because he played so much in I-formation and was frequently an open read
for his quarterbacks, he tended to sit in zones or await blitzing
defenders more than he’d head out looking to get physical in pass
protection.

Blocking: Like Williams, Bradshaw frequently headed out to
routes out of I-formation while the fullback stays into block. He’s a
willing blocker but doesn’t really have the upper-body strength to bull a
linebacker back. He’s more a pesky blocker who can slow defenders down
on the way to the quarterback.

Receiving: This is not one of his primary attributes, but
Williams is serviceable enough as a screen back, especially out of
shotgun. Runs play-action well and gets into position to catch quickly
either in the flat or in short areas upfield. Will stick at the line to
block before releasing to his route. Elusive upfield once he turns his
shoulders; aggressive with contact and stiff-arms to get extra yardage.

Receiving: Quick to the flat or out of a block release,
Bradshaw looks like a receiver when he hits the open field. He gets up
to speed nicely, has great cuts and turns on the jets when he can. Good
quick turn with the catch to get upfield. In the right kind of offense,
he has legitimate 70-80-catch potential, and flaring him outside to
increase his total touches while keeping his carries under control would
be an ideal way to integrate him into a balanced offense.

Conclusion: While Carolina’s horrible quarterback situation
left Williams facing seven and eight men in the box too often last year,
the Panthers also run as many 2- and 3-tight-end sets as any team in
the league. The extra blocking makes that issue a relative wash.
However, Williams could thrive as the lead back in a more wide-open
offense – paired with a passing attack that forced defenses to stretch
out and alter personnel to attack passing sets (let’s be honest –
blitzing the Panthers in 2010 wasn’t exactly necessary), he could return
to form as one of the best every-down backs in the NFL. Pair him with a
shifty, speedy “lightning” back and take him out of the I-formation
box, and Williams still has the ability to take a good passing team over
the top.

Conclusion: In the end, I think that Bradshaw is miscast as a
speed back. That perception of him is based on his role opposite the
270-pound Brandon Jacobs. He projects best as the ideal hybrid back
(think Ronnie Brown (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7178/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7178/news))
who can hit the hole inside, cut back, catch passes and do it all with
aplomb. Not quite a three-down feature back, Bradshaw still has the
versatility to become the point man in a varied system where power is
mixed with an efficient aerial attack. He’s more that than the lightning
to someone else’s thunder.

the folks at PhillySportsDaily.com, multiple sources say that Jackson won’t show up on Wednesday (http://phillysportsdaily.com/eagles/2011/07/27/sources-desean-jackson-will-not-report-wednesday/). Or on Thursday.

It remains to be seen when he’ll report. Under the rules of the
Transition Year, Jackson must show up by the 23rd day of the 2011 League
Year or lose his all-important fourth year of service toward
unrestricted free agency.

It’s no surprise that Jackson wants a new deal. He’s grossly
underpaid in light of his skills, and he’s grossly undersized in light
of the game he plays.

The Eagles surely would like him to shoulder the burden of the injury
risk for another year. Jackson surely would like to not do that, and
to be paid for what he already has done.

slot receiver, and the front office predictably responded. Moore is more
important to Brees and coach Sean Payton than any other team, so this
signing is great news for a player who finished a surprising 27th in
fantasy points. He'll be a player to target in PPR leagues this season.

NFL Network is reporting that Frank Gore wants a new contract and has elected to hold out of training camp.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has confirmed the report.
Like DeAngelo Williams, Gore is 28 years old. It's not difficult to
imagine Gore targeting even more than Williams, considering he's been a
much more effective player over the past two seasons. Gore and his
agent -- Drew Rosenhaus -- also realize the 49ers are heavily counting
on the running game with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick listed 1-2 on
one of the league's worst quarterback depth charts.

No, Aybar had an error trying to throw him out at first. Then he scored from 3rd on a wild pitch. The thing that's crazy to me is that it would have been a perfect game if not for that error. Obviously there would not have been a base runner but is a wild pitch not considered an error or anything?

interesting....I dont know what the deal with the box score is then. Not that the difference of an error or BB matters, cuz either way it eliminates the chance of perfection. But it's still odd.

I don't know....Reggie Bush maybe? Who else is out there. Ronnie or Ricky?

ronnie i'd listen to

but reggi ebush?

no way

WHat?!? you would take Ronnie Brown over Reggie Bush??

yea incase u haven't noticed gilbride is our OC. All the special thing sBush does, alot of it would be unutilized here...

We need somebody that can pound the rock. We don't need a china doll in the cold weather pounding in the NFC East. Bush is JUST as injury prone and not as good of a running back. We go tHixon back so i don't care about returning and we have plenty of WRs so I don't care about his ability to be an awesome slot wR
whats the dudes name from Baltimore that was just released.. he was a great short yardage runner..

MCGahee?

we already have an aging power back though
theres just no pleasing you..

Brown - Benson top the list

i seem some value in other guys like Portis, Harrison , Smith

What makes you think McFlabb has a choice?

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia reports that the
Redskins' trade of Donovan McNabb to the Vikings in exchange for a 2012
sixth-round pick and conditional sixth-rounder in 2013 is complete.

The (roughly) 14-hour holdup was contract
parameters; McNabb needed to rework his deal and get rid of the $10
million option bonus the Redskins owed him per last November's phony
extension. McNabb figures to open camp as the favorite to start for the
Vikings, but the team won't wait around if the 34-year-old struggles
early. Minnesota's scouting department determined before the draft that
Christian Ponder was NFL-ready. It's probably a safe bet that both
will start games this year, be it due to ineffectiveness or injury
behind an aging offensive line that struggles in pass protection. This
is a situation to avoid in fantasy football.

Its 50/50 at best that Ware is still a Giant this year. Bush is probably a bad option. Would come a bit too heavy in cost.

Ronnie isn't a bad play, but we do need a third down type back. Is Ronnie that kind of guy? Maybe.
