Morehead,
Do you get frustrated that Yanks/Sawks games take so long? It's so annoying to me. I don't want to watch a 4+ hour baseball game, when most Yankee games take about 2.5 hours.
Do the sox often take that long in a game? I wouldn't know since I only see them when we play em.

I thought we woulod be 1-1 at this point in the series. But I didn't think we would have lost the game we lost and won the game we won.</p>

CC.......0-4 vs. the Sox. 16-2 vs. the rest of the league.</p>

That bodes very well for us in the playoffs. So does 9-2.</p>

ohhhh pappy

u know thats never a good thing

I'd be afraid of that as a Red Sox fan for 2 reasons...
He hasn't beat you yet...
and August is typically his month(ya know...like only for the past 5 years....)and he hasn't won yet.
That doesnt bode well for whoever we play in september and October.</P>

Head and shoulders the greatest rivalry in all of sports. Pitchers bear down on every pitch.</P>

But the most important reason is that you have the two teams with the most patient hitters. It seems like every hitter goes deep into the count. Plus with two good hitting teams, pitcher try to nibble more.</P>

No..Sox games don't usually take nearly that long. And no team averages 2 1/2 hours anymore.</P>

it doesn't sit well with me that a baseball game could be the best rivalry

well after looking at his stats, he better be a blocking tight end or hes useless

he probably is because he is replacing patrick.

How many years was Patrick in the league? The family issues that Beckum claims led him to retirement must be severe. I hope everything works out for him.

well i think last night solidified ANY doubt that girardi is THEE dumbest manager in all of baseball.
</p>

his manager of the year award says otherwise....</p>

i'm not a huge fan of his anyway...but whatever...</p>

then who ever voted for him is just as ******ed as he is. WHOO puts a starter thats been struggling with his velocity all year in when you have soriano and robertson??????? both could of went 2 innings, dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb

</p>

Hughes hasn't been having problem with his velocity since coming off the DL.
Dude, I don't know....youre the worst baseball fan anyway...your opinion doesn't matter.

We already know Girardi doesn't know anything about pitchers, which is awful cuz he was a catcher....but why do you talk about it like every time we lose a game? &gt;.&lt;</p>

lol was just going to say that Hughes has had his velocity
i said hes been struggling with his velocity all season. am i wrong? i was talking about how he looked good his last start the other day. you people read what you want.

what does u saying he looked good the toher day have anything to do with this conversation

u JUST made a comment about his velocity no being there and since hes been back, pizz and i both disagree. His velocity has been there its been other things to why he hasn't been successful.

And the fact is u always look to kill Giaradi, but u don't give him credit when he makes good moves and Pappy is dead right when he brings up pulling Colon. Bet ur *** if the yanks got blown out after that u'd be killing Girardi for that, but since it worked u dont' say a peep about it

You guys drive me nuts. His decision to take Colon out on Friday in the 5th (which no other manager would have done) won the game for the Yankees.</p>

Girardi knows 100 times more about pitching than you guys will ever know.</p>

The problem last night was that the game was set up to have Mo close it out in the 9th. Once he blew the save, all bets were off. Not his fault.</p>

yea Dezz never brings up good moves
no other manager would take his sp out of the 5th with bases loaded? lol ooook mh

actually not many coaches would of done that...

bases weren't loaded it 2nd and 3rd. Agonz was up and Colon has been one of ur most solid pitchers.

There was 2 outs and a base open so you could of hit up Youkilus. It was a ballsy move

Personally, I think thats a silly comment. I think he managed the bullpen great this weekend. The problem was the Yankee bats/Red Sox pitching.</p>

Managing the bullpen wasn't.</p>

</p>

yea i agree, TORRE couldn't handle a bullpen at all

Girardi did all he could. Dezz is trying to kill him for using Hughes and suggest two pitchers that were already used during the game

apparently u do and u can ignore all the factual posts i've given you, but i'll keep saying them until u just realize ur wrong

-since hes been back, there has been no struggle with velocity. So to bring it up as a talking point as to why it was stupid for Girardi to put him in because of velocity is well, stupid.

-bases were not loaded, 2nd and 3rd aka A BASE OPEN

-Colon, believe it or not has been probably has been our most reliable pitcher when he was out there besides Mo and CC. He was under 100 pitches too

-And no, not many managers would take out a pitcher that was throwing pretty good in that situation for a mid level mid reliever vs the AL MVP.

and again... under 100 pitchers, one of ur best pitchers this year, 2nd and 3rd (could of walked him) - not many people go to their bullpen over a solid starter who isn't in PC trouble and has a base open...

but nice try
do i really need to tell you what struggling means?

logan came in with the bases loaded in a close game. MANY managers would of went to the pen in this case. could of walked who??

apparently u do and u can ignore all the factual posts i've given you, but i'll keep saying them until u just realize ur wrong

-<U>since hes been back, there has been no struggle with velocity.</U> So to bring it up as a talking point as to why it was stupid for Girardi to put him in because of velocity is well, stupid.

-bases were not loaded, 2nd and 3rd aka A BASE OPEN

-Colon, believe it or not has been probably has been our most reliable pitcher when he was out there besides Mo and CC. He was under 100 pitches too

-And no, not many managers would take out a pitcher that was throwing pretty good in that situation for a mid level mid reliever vs the AL MVP.

his fastball still drop to about 91 at times, hes inconsistent so yea its still an issue. deny it all you want, putting hughes in last night was dumb.

the bases WERE loaded.

deny it all you want but girardi isnt the only manager that would of taken colon out in that situation. not by a long shot.
</P>

It was a very unusual move. Way outside the mainstream. especially the fifth inning which is the one inning pitchers NEVER like to be pulled in.</P>

It was gutsy and very smart.</P>

Yeah that was saturday right? they said he'll miss at least 2 months....bummer.
not sure, saw it on bspn before i left for work

yea two months

i consider him just done for the year...

no training camp, foot injury at CB

hes <font color="#0000ff">done this year</font>

Not only that but I also read that when/if he does come back he will be playing with a screw in his foot so like you said, probably...
How much of Prince's contract does he receive this year, if say, he doesn't play a single snap. Would that be guaranteed $ only or is there an injury clause in some/all players deals?

i dunno how they worked it out

well i think last night solidified ANY doubt that girardi is THEE dumbest manager in all of baseball.
</p>

his manager of the year award says otherwise....</p>

i'm not a huge fan of his anyway...but whatever...</p>

then who ever voted for him is just as ******ed as he is. WHOO puts a starter thats been struggling with his velocity all year in when you have soriano and robertson??????? both could of went 2 innings, dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb

</p>

&gt;.&lt;</p>

lol was just going to say that Hughes has had his velocity
i said hes been struggling with his velocity all season. am i wrong? i was talking about how he looked good his last start the other day. you people read what you want.

talk about reading what u want...

what does u saying he looked good the toher day have anything to do with this conversation

<u>u JUST made a comment about his velocity no being there</u> and since hes been back, pizz and i both disagree. His velocity has been there its been other things to why he hasn't been successful.

And the fact is u always look to kill Giaradi, but u don't give him credit when he makes good moves and Pappy is dead right when he brings up pulling Colon. Bet ur *** if the yanks got blown out after that u'd be killing Girardi for that, but since it worked u dont' say a peep about it
no i didnt man, i said hes been struggling with velocity all year. correct? hes had it for like 2 games, if that.

ok good move by giardi taking out colon with the bases load and the potential mvp coming to plate. faaaantasic. brravoo for doing what hes suppose to. lmao

what does struggling with velocity mean in Davenworld?

and again... under 100 pitchers, one of ur best pitchers this year, 2nd and 3rd (could of walked him) - not many people go to their bullpen over a solid starter who isn't in PC trouble and has a base open...

but nice try
do i really need to tell you what struggling means?

logan came in with the bases loaded in a close game.

-And no, not many managers would take out a pitcher that was throwing pretty good in that situation for a mid level mid reliever vs the AL MVP.

his fastball still drop to about 91 at times, hes inconsistent so yea its still an issue. deny it all you want, putting hughes in last night was dumb.

the bases WERE loaded.

deny it all you want but girardi isnt the only manager that would of taken colon out in that situation. not by a long shot.

but i'd say killing Girardi for not throwin Soriano or Robertson before Hughes is a bigger mistake seeing as how Soriano pitched the 7th and Robertson threw the 8th

I already knew this. Its not the point.</p>

It was a great move made by Girardi. Any manager who takes out a pitcher with two outs in the fifth inning with a 1 run lead, has guts.</p>im not arguing this. you are. it was smart but youre making it seem like only the smartest of managers would of made the call. and youre right, it was gutsy going to logan, our worst reliever. im saying it was stupid to put hughes out there.

MattMeyerBud

Recently, while at a photo shoot for Tapout mouth guards and Real G

continued his trend in calling out MMA fighters, adding Georges St-Pierre (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/92/georges-st-pierre/) to a list that includes Anderson Silva (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/80/anderson-silva/) and Tito Ortiz (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/76/tito-ortiz/).

<p id="yui_3_3_0_2_131283696874742"><span class="ysp-player">Shaun Ellis (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5041/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5041/news)</span> spurned a contract offer from the New York Jets (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nyj/) and signed with the rival New England Patriots (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nwe/),
a decision which Jets coach Rex Ryan seems to equate with the high
treason of Benedict Arnold or running away with your best friend's wife.</p>

"The fact that he chose them," Ryan said of Ellis' departure (http://twitter.com/#%21/TheJetsStream/status/100237543626391552), "there's no way I'm going to wish him well. There's no chance of that."</p>

New York offered Ellis a one-year deal for an unspecified amount. He
ended up signing a larger contract with New England that could be worth
as much as $5 million this year depending on incentives.</p>
<p id="yui_3_3_0_2_131283696874749">Ellis was drafted by the Jets in
2000 and has spent his entire career with the team. He had 72 sacks for
Gang Green and was a two-time Pro Bowler. Even with all that, if he gets
a better offer from New England, why wouldn't he jump at the deal? It's
not like he owes New York a hometown discount anymore than the Jets
owed him extra money for 11 years of loyal service.</p>

Ryan is one to talk about football spurning! He went to school at
Southwestern Oklahoma State and then turned around and worked as a
graduate assistant on the football team at Eastern Kentucky. For the
purpose of this exercise, that's like a Blood joining the Crips!</p>

http://i.imgur.com/Tic8N.gif</p>Great gif--reminds me of time we had a powerlifting meet. My son was @14 yrs old. He comes darting into the room where the lifting was. The floor had those rubber matts on it and there was some water on the matt by the door. His feet flew out so far in front of him and he slid forward when he finally hit the matt. He was ok-one of those completely hysterical moments.

Ocho is dead to me.. :(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiLLLK3oiek

lol i can't stream - whats on the video

Recently, while at a photo shoot for Tapout mouth guards and Real G
wristbands, Ochocinco, who is now a member of the New England Patriots,
continued his trend in calling out MMA fighters, adding Georges St-Pierre (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/92/georges-st-pierre/) to a list that includes Anderson Silva (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/80/anderson-silva/) and Tito Ortiz (http://www.fightline.com/fl/profiles/76/tito-ortiz/).

After asking who the best fighter in the UFC (http://www.fightline.com/fl/news/ufc-news/) was right now, Ochocinco responded by saying, "I'd (expletive) him up."</p>

After he asked where GSP was from, the talented, but troubled, star continued, saying, "I'm not going to lose to no (expletive) Canadian."</p>

In the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiLLLK3oiek), it is hard to tell just how honest Ochocinco is, as he has a way with hiding his true feelings quite well.
</p>

LOLOLOL

hes such a clown
Ocho is a wise - guy. He's doing it for media exposure. There's no way he would want to get in the ring with GSP. That's suicide for the average guy.

Giving it away for free costs money.....and it won't work anyhow, because the people who don't spend 5 bucks on some birth control just don't care, they won't go out of their way to get the free birth control anyhow.

And that sucks that the guy lost 5K in the market...but if he waits it out a couple years it'll probably end up higher then what he went in at, markets are going to continue on the downward trend until the presidency switches...it's mostly political at this point.

Those would both be considered cuts by the way....the dollar beer nights is obviously a cut, the kegorator would be considered an investment in real world terms but a cut in political world terms.

For example...say we spent 3 trillion on defense last year, then say we are budgeted to spend 5 trillion dollars next year on it,.then decide to spend 4 trillion next year because the economy is doing poorly....it'd be considered a 1 trillion dollar cut in the political world...even though we'd be spending more then we did before and everyone would go around saying..."look how much we cut look how much we cut" when really nothing was cut at all.

your really not seeing the big picture on this.

No I see what the intention is, know it won't work, realize it's a waste of money.

you see some long term growth because you think there will be less unwanted child births and less government funds dedicated to them...thus you see a long term gain.

that's not what will happen, what will happen is we will spend millions to billions of dollars on this program and there will be NO CHANGE whatsoever....because the government sucks at implementing things like this....and it will be millions to billions of dollars down the toilet....as per normal.

the title on reddit for this said "More Than a thousand words..."</p>

Is it a Titanic Anniversay or something?
Nope-I get it...the red line is the dow jones and the Titanic symbolizes our economy? Nice....great news. That's why I woke up last night full of sweat with my acid reflux ready to explode. Very stressful situation.
</p>

Don't worry LT. These dips are simply an opportunity to buy into the market cheaper in your 401K.</p>

The market will rebound. Its actually better if it stays down for a while so we can continue to buy cheap.</p>

Our after tax account is loaded with Muni bonds so we actually made money there yesterday.</p>

Those would both be considered cuts by the way....the dollar beer nights is obviously a cut, the kegorator would be considered an investment in real world terms but a cut in political world terms.

For example...if we are budgeted to spend 5 trillion dollars next year.then decide to spend 4 trillion next year because the economy is doing poorly....it'd be considered a 1 trillion dollar cut the political world...and everyone would go around saying..."look how much we cut look how much we cut" when really nothing was cut at all.

ehhh if u really think about it they probably go through like 50 bucks collectively a week in the apartment (ballpark)

a 400 dollar investment which includes the keg and then a $80 refill. Two kegs and a kegorator should be paid off within 10 weeks. 2 Kegs should last 10 weeks between just roomies. If you have parties then you charge 5 until your caugh tup. Bring it back to HS. Everybody wins... go spend $20 at BJs for the solos to make it a cool 50

once you've conquered this, you will need to invest in a nice mug set. And then its alllll down hill

So all of a sudden u think the people that suck the economy out by getting things free

Giving anything away for free has always been bad, that's not "all of the sudden" that's forever...it's always been that way.

and who stereotypically tend have more kids than the average person - wouldn't take advantage? I disagree

No they won't take advantage of it, they could afford to buy a condom now...Unemployment+Welfare already give them enough to afford that not to mention many schools and other organizations have already been supplying free birth control....it hasn't done a thing...so we are going to take a program that has proven to be ineffective...and pump more money into it to make it work....

it's the same as the stimulus....it didn't work at all the first time...so what do we do? we do a bigger stimulus...that ALSO does nothing....what is Obama talking about since the debt limit increase? a third stimulus.

it's like when something doesn't work...they just do it over and over and over again with more and more money spent on it each time.

Edit: after rereading your post, I think, you think, I think, that people on welfare getting free things hurts the economy.....that's not true...I think free things hurt the economy...it doesn't matter who they go to...I think you think I blame the poor people...I don't....I blame the government for being incapable of creating a system to help the efficiently.....putting tons and tons of money into something that won't work...not only hurts the people paying for it, but it also doesn't help the people depending on it...the only group of people making money right now is the federal government itself....not the rich not the poor not the middle class.....this is why we need to cut spending....you could cut things like education/welfare/medicaid/medicare in half or more....and see no discernible difference in quality of service right now.

I don't know what your trying to say here....but both the things you've mentioned are considered "cuts" not "Investments" in the political world.

Choosing to drink on Dollar Beer night is choosing to spend less money...hence cut....that's easy.

choosing to buy a kegorator and keg looks like an investment (and is in the real world) towards lower costs in the future....but in politics they "assume" that the kegorator will bring about a certain amount of savings for that FY (fiscal year) so say you'd save over the course of a year 1000$ by spending the 400$ for the Kegorator....in politics the purchase of that Kegorator would be considered a 600$ CUT.

Carr's release is ****IN AWKWARD. I never realized how awkward it was. Quick release though

That picture of Jacobs doesn't do it justice. His arms look TREMENDOUSLY smaller. Like to the point where I don't know if its something to worry about or not. I saw him up close last year at camp and at a club... they were DEF not this thin

No shot at Pizz, but i would be really surprised if Ware made this team over Scott or Brown

Eli and the receivers do not look good. Don't even want to start thinking about it.

Bear seems lost out there every once in a while, but you can tell Eli has been trying to just look his way anytime he can just to see how hes catching the ball.

Terrell Thomas is leading the chirping out of our high intensity defense. I am ****in amped for us on defense this year.

All in all i am really not too worried about our squad at all. DTs hurt and secondary depth and TE. But hey, rarely do every team have everything covered and long.

I know its weird and it may be the homer in me. But I only think the Eagles are a good team, i dont think they are as great as everybody is making the mseem. We are just snak ebitten by them. One win and thats all we'll need. I feel like we are a more complete team.

Concept reminds me of the Hamptons thing that is going currently. They set up tents and serve beer. It's aka-"party at the hard rock" type of thing. There are lines with people waiting for hours to get in there. They make mega bucks selling only beer.

It is man. We had alot of young and inexperienced players in the defense. They are a year older and a year in the system. Phillips healthy, Ross in contract year im expecting big things....

Sintim sucks, but we're going with Kiwi which i like. Plus the no name young LBs have supposively been looking good.

DTs worry me. Our season is on Austins hands i feel like and hes already missed a few day sof practice. Plus we are snake bitten with rookie injuries. Not a believer in Joseph. Only good thing i ever hear about him is that hes really strong but I haven't seen it translate on the field. But I do have alot more confidence in Canty than most do

OLine, as long as Baas can get along with those guys we'll be fine. I think better than last year.

Talent spots: short at TE, Jacobs size is baffling me, too many injuries in our depth at WR and Nicks is always hurt

I met Brandon. He was so incredibly huge it was amazing. He presented himself or looks larger than lineman that actually weight more than him. He was diesel. A 10 lbs loss should not be a problem at all--like you said a good thing. But I'm thinking 15-20 lbs to loose size like that in his arms.

If the D as a whole is stout at least it will keep us in games, while we get the pieces in place with the te's and wr's. Scary to hear that Eli and his wr's don't look good. Does Baas have a history of not getting along with team mates?

All in all i am really not too worried about our squad at all. DTs hurt and secondary depth and TE. But hey, rarely do every team have everything covered and long.

I know its weird and it may be the homer in me. But I only think the Eagles are a good team, i dont think they are as great as everybody is making the mseem. We are just snak ebitten by them. One win and thats all we'll need. I feel like we are a more complete team.

I think we take the division.
his arms and thighs stuck out to me in that picture. probably lost at least 10 pounds. i think it can be a good thing. hes still the biggest back in the league and hes making up for power with speed, so i think he can still give a good pop to dbs and linebackers.

was tt playing that 3rd safety roll?

dude he was like 15 feet away from me... that picture added ten pounds

It was too hard to tell. They do team stuff away from the fans and defense is never near the fans.
Yep-I've lost close to an inch on my arms with a 13-17 lb bodwt drop. When I dropped a weight class that I was too light to be in anyway, but I was BIGGGGG

so i stopped by the Giants practice for a little bit yesterday and i have some observations

I met Brandon. He was so incredibly huge it was amazing. He presented himself or looks larger than lineman that actually weight more than him. He was diesel. A 10 lbs loss should not be a problem at all--like you said a good thing. But I'm thinking 15-20 lbs to loose size like that in his arms.

yea exactly. Its not just BJ was cutting weight, itw as BJ lost alot of weight lol. I mean and I thought he slimmed and cut up, but i remember seeing more definition in his arms last year so im not even sure he got ripped. If he gets hurt early then I guess we'll know what was up

Yes-if he get's hurt, we'll know. Interesting point, how sometime you can actually be or appear to be leaner or more defined at a heavier weight than a lighter weight. I have to attribute it to water retention at the time. Water smooths out everything. Drop the water and you can see the striations like in the race horse's hind quarters.

I love your optimism , it's contagious and the way that I want to feel about this team as well.

So BJ had to lose weight for his arms to go down? That would stand to reason right? That's how it works with me.

If the D as a whole is stout at least it will keep us in games, while we get the pieces in place with the te's and wr's. Scary to hear that Eli and his wr's don't look good. Does Baas have a history of not getting along with team mates?

na but our oline were all boys.

Hes like the outsider coming in. Hopfully its all working out.

i fail to see how u can agree because somebody saw one single practice and crowned the giants as not having an intense camp.

Its stupid to take one day and define the team like that. Especially because i remember reading every year when the defense hit the lull in training cmap.

Bottom line if he was there last night he would have a completely different opinion and might of been over blowing us, which also would of been stupid and wrong

its just an opinion, but is it really that hard to look at it from my point of view for a second? just look the games they lost last season. either they dont show up, or they start off ok and just roll over the 2nd half. its been a problem ever since spags left.

great
**** Antonio and his 8 wives
hes 100% correct. we never know if/when this defense will show

<U>actually its 100% complerte bull****</U>

If last night just happened to be the one day he visited he would have 180;d what he said saying that this defense is roaring to go and bla bla bla

don't let pierce fool you, under his "command" when he played the defense ABSOLUTELY had its low days...

Pierce was awesome as a sports caster last year, i just feel like more and more hes becoming too typical. He knows better than that.

It all started once he gave his real opinion about Osi. He was back the next day kissing Osi's *** and then comes with this. Just say the truth and be level headed and I think hes losing that.
agree to disagree. you never know with this d imo

<U>
i fail to see how u can agree because somebody saw one single practice and crowned the giants as not having an intense camp.</U>

Its stupid to take one day and define the team like that. Especially because i remember reading every year when the defense hit the lull in training cmap.

Bottom line if he was there last night he would have a completely different opinion and might of been over blowing us, which also would of been stupid and wrong
for the third time, you never know if the defense will show up or not. between what you said (they looked good one day) and what he said (they looked bad another day) solidifies my opinion, in my opinion. [:)]

of course it does

cuz ur a fertada

Now that's a furtada

I agree that the defense screwed us last year... but we still won 10 games

the point is that what Pierce is saying is ******ed and he should know better. A Random day at training camp is stupid

to be honest, Pierce still loves the gmen. He prolly did it just to ligth a fire under them
