It is past the time to be concerned about Jeremy Maclin (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5169/jeremy-maclin)’s health.</p>

<u>The Eagles wide receiver, who has been struggling with an undisclosed illness for at least five months, </u>left training camp to undergo more testing (http://twitter.com/#%21/Jeff_McLane/statuses/101671059253764096) in his hometown of St. Louis according to WIP’sHoward Eskin andthePhiladelphia Inquirer.</p><font color="#0000ff">Signing Steve Smith (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2386/steve-smith) on Wednesday is another sign the Eagles may be more concerned than they are letting on.</font>damn thats horrible. i really wish him well

mix in the fact that DJax is unhappy with his deal

its no bueno in philly right now...

things seem alot bette rthan they are

I know I'm the rook, but it's hard to tell what you will do for sure, until you see which players are going? Like General Patton said" The battleplan goes out the window after the first shot"

The heartless pimp who delivered a bruised and bloodied 16-year-old
girl to disgraced football legend Lawrence Taylor was sentenced
yesterday to seven years in the slammer for his role in their illegal
tryst. </p>

Ex-con Rasheed Davis, who did a previous 16-year stint
in stir for homicide, broke down in tears while apologizing to his
family for his latest crime after victim Cristina Fierro offered a
horrifying account of her treatment at LT's hands. </p>

"I told
Lawrence Taylor that it was my first time, and that I did not feel
comfortable," she told a packed courtroom. "He went ahead anyway, and
had sexual intercourse with me." </p>

Fierro, now 18 and engaged to be married, said she "physically
tried to push him away," but couldn't fight off the ex-Giants star
inside a Rockland County hotel room last year. </p>

"I had tears
coming down my face, and still had my black eye and bloody nose" from
the beating Davis administered to force her into the $300 "date," she
said. </p>

The Hall of Fame linebacker -- who was initially charged
with statutory rape -- was sentenced to six years' probation in March
after plea-bargaining to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute.
</p>

Yesterday, Manhattan federal Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald (http://www.nypost.com/t/Naomi_Reice_Buchwald)rejected requests from both sides to give Davis a sentence outside the recommended guidelines of 84 to 105 months. </p>

Outside court, Fierro, accompanied by high-profile feminist lawyer
Gloria Allred, denied those accusations, and called Davis' sentence
"fair," adding: "It's better than what LT got."</p><div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">

Heard this mornin that he extended to 31 which ties a Braves record for hit streaks. I believe Rico Carty had it...and only a true Braves fan would know such a thing... I was checking to see who had the Red Sox hitting streak thinking it was either Wade Boggs or possibly Nomar. Of all people, it was Joe D'imaggio's brother Dom at 34........thought that was kinda interesting.

yea well the Giants wouldn't of just abused him like the Eagles will.. 4-6 weeks THEN getting into football shape which he is no where near in seeing as how he JUST started being able to run afte rbeing out a year and sitting on his ***

Then getting in the swing of things

and this is in a perfect world - barring no set backs

so is it going to be weird when u draft this year when you have to actually look at a list of players and draft vs just being told what to draft?

Jerry Reese: IF WE MAKE A COUPLE PLAYS WE WOULD'VE BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFS. WE'LL MAKE THE PLAYS THIS TIME, WE'LL GET IN THE PLAYOFFS AND WE'LL MAKE A RUN

"We were constantly told that if and when the market did develop that
we would always be included in what was going on," Coughlin said. "I am
upset. So is everybody. But we are disappointed in the fact that ...
it's like lining up for the race and you are in the locker room and
nobody tells you that the race is going to be run. That is the
disappointing thing here. I don't believe that we were given the
opportunity to do what we can do."</p>

Smith responded to irate Giants
fans on his Facebook page by reiterating that the Giants didn't want
him as much as the Eagles did.</p>

"Instead of cursing at me and
wishing my family and my knee harm, i wish you could understand that i
truly wanted to stay here but that the giants DIDN'T want me here
unfortunately," he said. "Thank you to my true fans for standing by me
and offering your support during this time ... i truly appreciate it and
will miss you all, even the haters bc i know ure great people deep down
and are saying what u are just because youre such passionate fans."</p>

This non flex thing is making this a very tough draft. </p>

Yeah it is. Makes WR's much more important. I like the challenge though. The problem I seem to be having is getting alot of players with the same bi week.

i've been fine

i love my whole approach i am so happy i traded to the 12 spot

i <font size="5">can't believe S&amp;A likes the teams hes getting at the 6 spot</font>. It worked well though I guess
</p>

</p>

What is sooooooo great about the 12th spot.....it practically dars u to take a QB right there !</p>

Reese: "We'll continue to look to make our roster better. I don't feel
like I got a raw deal. It's free agency. We wish (Steve) the best."

Reese on if team is better: "We'll see. Proof is in the pudding." Asks
how many sexy moves Packers and Steelers made previous two years

Reese says that sticking to game plan was making responsible offers and moving on if free agents didn't come back.

Reese says cap situation is flexible. Can do things if they want to.

Agent Ben Dogra, who represents Smith, disagrees with the notion that a promise was made.</p>

“I did not (http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2011/08/giants_were_never_promised_a_c.html),” Dogra tells Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
“I never told them at any point. And, in fact, I’ll take it a step
further. I told them, ‘Hey, I just want to be candid with you, I have
another team that’s going to be in the mix on a one-year deal.’ So I
did tell them that.</p>

“If you have a sense of urgency, sometimes when you have a free
agent, you can negotiate against yourself, you negotiate and wait for us
or you just negotiate to get a deal done. That’s the prerogative of
the club. We have no obligation to go back.”</p>

I agree, and with all due respect to Coughlin I believe Dogra.</p>

In this case, the Giants had every chance to get a deal done with Smith. They didn’t, and it’s not Dogra’s or Smith’s fault.</p>

“Ask them the question: do they think their offer was too low?” Dogra
told Garafolo. “If they thought it was too high and he left, then it
worked out for everybody because they wouldn’t have paid more. If their
offer was too low and they know it was low then shame on them.”</p>In the end, the Giants now have two former big-time receivers who have gone to other teams. Smith in their own division, and Plaxico Burress (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/19/plaxico-burress)

In need of the Jerrigan Name Plate, Matt-you mentioned yesterday about a Jerrigan patch. Do they sell that separately? Then it would just be a matter of removing Smith from a #12 jersey and stitching the new one on.

lol....the more I think about it, buying Jerseys IS an investment!! You spend a chunk of dough on one, and you risk the possibility of that player not being around very long.

In need of the Jerrigan Name Plate, Matt-you mentioned yesterday about a Jerrigan patch. Do they sell that separately? Then it would just be a matter of removing Smith from a #12 jersey and stitching the new one on.

As I was thumbing thru my closet this am, I realized I have a ****ing Smith jersey. Damm.

Dude, yes. Our jersey selections are close, I try to get guy's that I think are going to be here for a while. I never expected Smith to go this soon. Besides LT- I also have Strahan, Eli, Osi, Jacobs, Tuck. This off-season I got JPP, Nicks. I forgot about Smith until this morning.

I am having a hard time finding the name plates on line anywhere.

Yea I'd wait for Matt, he has mentioned it a few times actually, so...

Yea I was going to buy a Smith jersey last year....good thing I couldn't find a white one that was the right size. lol</p>I think I did find it for $15 , but it's the white one like you wanted. I have the Smith blue home jersey.

Yes, black and red is gonna be a *****. Here's my next thought, we go to that cheap jersey site and if they have jernigan jersey buy it for $22 and transfer the name plate.
I am only considering that because my Smith is an authentic. Otherwise I would just keep the actual Jernigan from the cheap jersey site.

we were a couple of stupid turnovers away from being 12-4 and in the playoffs

we have a young team who had a new defense and we are a year older and experienced...

I immediately thought about the Herzlich story too when JP mentioned Chad. We chose Herzlich after his condition, chad happened after we signed him....but still great stories for the Giants to be invested in. I would love to see it. If that doesn't inspire the players around them , I don't know what would.

I came to that realization back in the 80's, so now I only get favorite ex-Giant jerseys... Simms, LT Carson, etc. I'll get a Stray soon. I broke the rule to get a Shockey and Warner, and later regretted it. I never did get a Tiki... a great Giant, but I don't want his jersey.</P>

this has been a terrible day here....of course my last day before I leave...and now I have reason to believe that if not by the end of the day, that my best friend will be fired while I'm gone. Prety awful feeling.ooofff!! What did she do or fail to do?
</p>

not sure yet. she wouldnt tell me yesterday after work cuz she was in a foul mood, but they were behind closed doors meeting with her, and then she asked me to look up an HR extension for her.
idk....whatever it is, she seems to think she isnt going to get a 2nd chance.
Regardless of what it is, it's BS...cuz few years back I accidentaly gave....well....let's just say it was a large sum of money to someone, who I didn't realize wasnt on the account.
And I got put on a 3 month probation where I could have easily gotten fired. Everything is forgivable. even causing losses.
as MMB would say.....if this happens, youre going to see Dark JP</p>Sorry to hear about that. Your right everything is forgiveable. I feel bad for your friend.

However, I recall you were considering transferring locations, but did not want to leave because of your friend? Did I get that right? That would no longer be an issue keeping you there.

ehhh it's a rough situ....I can't just transfer because then I'll again be bound to the 9 month promotional rule, so I won't be able to apply for a promotion if I transfer(inside that 9 months).</P>

i've started doing mock drafts taking up all 3 of my draft positions

i feel like i am getting good drafts now.

It figure, becuase i have to make half the picks now

Cool. I think I get it more clearly now. Fantasy sports are to you = what weight lifting is to me. When you get behind the keyboard, it's game on. I feel ya Bro.

eh not as much... i gotta mock for all of these anyway. Too much money and pride thrown around

i like working stratagies...

being in the same draft vs myself also helps because obviously all my three teams like the same guys so it helps me readjust mid draft if i reach on some guys i figure to reach for

but this company is so terrifying...they do this thing where they tell you what you did, but then tell you they dont know what the reprocussions are yet. And then you have to wait around wondering if youre going to have a ****ing job the next day.
They pulled the same bull**** on me 2 years ago....TWO weeks I came in everyday wondering if that was the day I got the axe. How can you work like that?!!?

You should see her right now....she just so sullen....not even talking or anything.

Sounds pretty standard to me Piz....they gotta run the offense up the flag pole per say....they have to talk to your manager get the whole story...check to see if they fire you whether you can come back at them....there's a lot involved....I know it sucks to work in that situation...but they have to do their due diligence before making the decision on punishment.

eeh, yeah and it's compounded even further when you have people that depend on your salary. Whole thing stinks. True what D says about due diligence. Year back they fired a sales manager. The ex employee hired an attorney and we ended up paying him his full salary for +1 year.

Gilbride listed several receivers who impressed him in the early practices.

“Victor Cruz has looked pretty good,” he said. “You’ve got Domenik Hixon back, who’s looked good. Devin (Thomas) has looked good.

Sam Giguere has looked good.

No one has gotten a lot of repetitions, but you do see some of the quickness, some of the physical skill set that you need to play those positions. Hopefully, as they do it enough times, they will have learned it well enough that you can actually see whatever ability they have. It’s hard to be good at anything, fluent at anything, when you’re still thinking and all of those guys are still thinking.”

Lets hope we suck less week 2.</p>yes sir.
the only bright spot was jpp. i wish we traded osi.
ware is garbage pizz. sorry, hes very slow out of the backfield. when they put brown in it was like night and day.
bj had a nice run, he looks a bit faster, which is good.
im very worried about our defense. our secondary looked like ****. missed tackles, even by tt. ross..........sucks to put it lightly.

i think our oline will get better. i didnt think they were THAT bad

i broke down the first quarter of film, didn't have time to do it all but heres some things:

-Pascoe - at fullback he had a horrible day. On the blocks he didn't slip off of or take to slow to get to he was getting stalemated at the point of contact nearly every time. Never got a push

-Ballard - Awful job at TE. Not agile catching the ball at all either

-Diehl - Did not have a good game. He was a step slow EVERY time he pulled to kick out. He wasn't beating the RBs on the pull

-Baas - Probowl caliber? Lets just hope it was just an adjustment game for him

-Snee had a bad game as well not picking up blocks and staying on them or getting to the next level.

-Beatty had some rust, needs to be more aggressive

-Mario - He needs to not be lazy on the outside and block better on running plays. CB that was on him was able to sprint in and cause some havoc on running plays

-KP Not the impact we wanted. He got caught in wash alot, didn't take good angles and had some block coverages.

-Bernard got blown off the ball alot

-The line overall wasn't getting off the ball fast enough. We didn't get a good push.

-Kiwi was a little lost. I think we're going to get screened alot to when Kiwi is in at LB and JPP is in at end because JPP's inexperience doesn't let him recognize the read because hes too busy being aggressive and Kiwi just doesn't have the recogntion yet to blow screens up. SO by the time the back catches the screen there is 15 yards of open field with 2-4 blockers.

-Didn't bother reading TAGF but Boley's INT wasn't even that nice. IT was thrown right to him. He didn't make a big break on the ball, hell he didn't evn step in front of the WR. If the WR was lead that was a big gain. He had a decent game though, but still hes just not physical enough against the run

Austin - Joseph - I saw nothing. Very wet behind the ears. I am concerned
-----
The good:

Eli - Elis balls were nice tight balls. He missed on Nicks for a TD, but thats just a timing thing. Nothing to sweat. And then the second one was blatant pass interference but he dropped it in nice to Nicks.

Bear - He looked good on the couple of balls he caught.

BRadshaw - strong, fast, quick, and didn't fumble. Didn't really get the blocking yeste5rday but 5 for 21 yardsa

Canty - Was a ****ing BEAST. Not enough credit at all. Big pushes in the back field and was man handling people. I am all aboard the Canty bandwagon. I honestly think he can be ALOT better than what Cofield was lat year

Goff - GREAT agaiunst the run. He looked aggressive, fast, go through and around blocks. Made some really nice tackles. HE looks good. I also don't remember him getting beat in the passing game so a really nice game by Goff

JPP - dude was beasting. Even beyond those two sacks, he played very good against the run and still distrubed some passes wtih pressure

Speaking of which, i told you guys not to worry about Osi. ZERO leverage. I think the way everybody turned on Steve Smith really snapped him out of it a little bit. Knew he'd be back.

GO Sammy G, this team needs Canucks

Honestly i saw him in practice three times, he really did nothing for me
Such a hater

not even doing the i hate canada thing. HE looked undersized and really couldn't make plays. Saw him with a few drops and couldn't get seperation

Preseason game 1......We sucked.</p>

Lets hope we suck less week 2.</p>Waiting for NFL network to re air the game, I didn't watch but reading the boards Its the worst performance in the history of preseason games.

And speaking of annoying the whiners on this MB are to much, I need a vacation from here. How anyone can base an opinion one way or another from one or two offensive/defensive series is beyond meI was just happy to see some NYG ball. There were some positives to take away from this one, that's what I'll focus on. Surprising -how quickly tagf went NEGATIVE on the team. Bunch of the sky is falling whiners, yes. Geesh-it's only pre-season.
Morning LT, the whiners were amusing when I first joined but now it drives me nuts, maybe I'll call Mod M out and earn me a vacation.Mornin Bandy-Your itching for a break--do it, knock em down a peg or two-he's resilient, won't effect him more than a blink of an eye. lol
He'd get way to much pleasure in banning a Canuck. Lol

i hate banning canadians

they always try to bribe me with rubels and sheep fur

we use greenback in the states pal

na its over blown

Tynes attempted a 55 yarder in the rain - something we'd never really do. We just tried it

stupid rookie got him hurt in blocking...

missed tackles

Giants do seem to be lacking in hits.

How bad is Aaron Ross? Honestly?

He made ONE play ona third stringer and you would of thought he won the superbowl. He can't tackle and he sucks at coverage

the only bright spot was jpp. i wish we traded osi.
ware is garbage pizz. sorry, hes very slow out of the backfield. when they put brown in it was like night and day.
bj had a nice run, he looks a bit faster, which is good.
im very worried about our defense. our secondary looked like ****. missed tackles, even by tt. ross..........sucks to put it lightly.

i think our oline will get better. i didnt think they were THAT bad
I know we discussed BJ looking a bit smaller. Sat night, he looked bigger than ever.

i broke down the first quarter of film, didn't have time to do it all but heres some things:

Matt-Not much to dispute. Thanks for your 1 qtr summary. Pascoe does appear to be able to handle the job. Later in the game Coates also showed he can catch. Canty and JPP were great. Jpp is a bit over aggressive, but he'll get there with tons of raw talent. The line was a step slow on the snaps-can we attribute to conditioning or timing?

first off picking up blocks, he did GREAT

did an awesome job receiving

alot of our RBs downside was because our line looked like **** ALL game...

only starter that looked good was McKenzie

im gonna finish the game when i get home... i only broke down the first quarter

The line was a step slow on the snaps-can we attribute to conditioning or timing?

i'd have to go with conditioning, a new center, and some new spots. DIehl hasn't played guard in a while and hasn't pulled like that at tackle. He really has to get faster or in better shape (or both)
DaBass is a concern. He looks like a beast, but he's gotta protect Eli. Austin is HUGE-is he suppossed to be the strongest due 550 bencher? He didn't show us much Sat.

na i think Joseph is the big power guy

he also didn't show much

honestly, i feel like we can go with a rotation at OLB but I thin kwe may need another DT

I even think if Bear is at TE that it may be a better fit and we can get by....

DT worries me a bit. Kind of a missed opportunity with a Tommie Harris signing imo
