You should have this conversation in a PM. Everyone is going to know what you are doing LT.

these are things everyone was talking about yesterday...no secret really.
LT, if' you've made a waiver claim, on your team page, there should be a date next to where that waiver gets put thru. Like if it says Sep. 10...it will probably process over the night, and you can plug in that player/defense after that.
Here's what it says:

If I'm waiver 3, and youre waiver 7, and we both put claims on the same guy, I will "win" the claim so to speak.
The original waiver order is determined by your draft position I believe. And every time you have a claim go thru successfully, youre bumped back to 12th.

I dont get too excited about draft picks usually. I like KP AFTER we got him, didnt know much about him. Nicks obviously was a awesome pick for us I felt...

No practice again for Texans HB Arian Foster because of the hamstring. If he can't go, Derrick Ward starts. Ben Tate who? The old G Man gonna bring it!

OH **** ME! I knew I moved Driver into my actives last night.....I forgot about the save changes tab.
There must a a waiver priority list somewhere?

On the main league page, there's a column next to teams that should say waiver....teams with numbers 1 thru 12.

If I'm waiver 3, and youre waiver 7, and we both put claims on the same guy, I will "win" the claim so to speak.
The original waiver order is determined by your draft position I believe. And every time you have a claim go thru successfully, youre bumped back to 12th.

K, thanks JP-I see the waiver order. Are all of the available players considered on waiver?

I think how it works is from kickoff of the first game of the week, until weds. everyone who would be a free agent, is considered on waivers. that way nobody can "ninja add" a 3rd string RB after the first 2 break their legs on back to back plays. lol

Thanks JP

You should have this conversation in a PM. Everyone is going to know what you are doing LT.

these are things everyone was talking about yesterday...no secret really.
LT, if' you've made a waiver claim, on your team page, there should be a date next to where that waiver gets put thru. Like if it says Sep. 10...it will probably process over the night, and you can plug in that player/defense after that.
Here's what it says:

Team Notes

Waiver 1 - Sep 11[/b]: St. Louis dropping Brent Celek (http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/236459/8/viewwaiver?claim_id=8_100014)[/list]So I'll have acess on 9/11 to plug em in if I choose?

correct. Assuming nobody else higher than you in waiver priority put a claim on StL

OH **** ME! I knew I moved Driver into my actives last night.....I forgot about the save changes tab.

ant that a *****???? lol

i was just gonna say toyou before about the lines ups... DONT FORGET THE SAVE BUTTON! i cant tell you how many times people (including myself) have forgot to hit save! also with trades... if someone purposes and you dont want it double check the box you are clicking.... hit the wrong one of those by accident once too LOL
A brutal mistake lol....when I realized last night, I was so bummed.
happened to me a few times as well....i thought i started farve that one year he was with the jets and had like 6 tds in one game. im talking **** to the other guy and hes like "yeaaa, now only if you started him..." raaghhhhh!!!!!!!

But either way we never voted on playoffs this year
do u guys want 4 or 6 teams in the playoffs?
4 team means tha tthe playoffs will start week 15 and there will be no byes
6 team means that the playoffs will start week 14. The top 2 seeds will get a buy week 14 while 3 thru 6 play and then 15 is the semis and 16 is the finals...

Has he ever had one thrown to him?
Yup, he was the only player targeted last year that didnt have a dropped pass.
I have no idea how anyone could possibly say his hands are overrated if the ball hardly ever comes his way and when it has, he has always caught it.
Just Matt being Matt I suppose.(talking out of ***)
Talking out of it or tossing it. Those are his specialties...
or the fact that he dropped one vs the jets

That's preseason.
Beckum was the on player on the team that was targeted last year and didn't drop the ball. Obviously he had much less chances to drop the ball, but the point remains that if he hasn't dropped the ball how could anyone conclude that his hands are overrated?

Yup, he was the only player targeted last year that didnt have a dropped pass.
I have no idea how anyone could possibly say his hands are overrated if the ball hardly ever comes his way and when it has, he has always caught it.
Just Matt being Matt I suppose.(talking out of ***)
Talking out of it or tossing it. Those are his specialties...
or the fact that he dropped one vs the jets
That's preseason. Beckum was the on player on the team that was targeted last year and didn't drop the ball. Obviously he had much less chances to drop the ball, but the point remains that if he hasn't dropped the ball how could anyone conclude that his hands are overrated?
wow really - he caught all 13 balls...
ur right what was i thinking - sign him up. He obviously has stickum hands
if he was thrown at 13 times and caught 13 balls, yes so far he does have sticky fingers. why cant we have a blocking end and a recieving tightend? like i said if we can utilize beckum like greenbay does with finley hes worth keep. and despite what you say he has shown flashes. a few of those 13 caught balls were big first downs.
lol just be prepared to get ur balls broke all year. He'll have another 15 catches this year and he'll be an awful blocker and banged up like he always is

Same guy who drafted this one and made a sick trade. If it makes you feel better to give him so much credit than by all means continue. I drafted 95% of that team and the year before. I picked my line up every week, placed my trades, picked up my waivers, remembered to play a kicker and everything. It's not just the draft as you know my friend. I love how much it bothers you. Yeah Matt Texted me, I think in this league 6 teams to the playoffs is good, it's not super competitive and most of us know each other, having more people "in it" at the end can be good for this league.
If it was a super cut-throat big money league I'd be voting 4 but this is not that.

His hands are overrated. People think hes legit but when has he ever made a tough catch in the pros? Never.
My point is if we're keeping a TE who is one dimensional, he better shine in that one dimension and he hasn't and my guess is he wont ever and will be by next year.
You have to step up when your get your shots and ur fighting for ur position. So far the only thing of note i've seen out of Beckum is not knowing what route hes suppose to run and not catching a catchable but tough ball. If the dude was that legit he would of came up wiht it
I know it was on play, but people get cut on one play. He hasn't done enough to lock his spot up on this team is my opinion.
I think Gilbride agrees as well with all the trouble hes had with him at practice and then basically blowing Ballard in that article

About 90% of what you just said has absolutely nothing to do with his hands.
In games that have mattered he has never dropped a pass, yet somehow based on this he has overrated hands?
Just say he sucks and admit you were wrong that you could possibly say/know that his hands are overrated.

I never said he has great hands or bad hands or mediocre hands. All I said was that you have absolutely no basis when you say his hands are overrated.
Stop backtracking, you're acting like morehead.
Just say he sucks and admit you were wrong that you could possibly say/know that his hands are overrated.
i will apologize i did word it wrong. Too specific by saying hands, as a receiver hes overrated.
Do i think this sure hand thing that is going around about him is ridic? Yes but hes overrated as a receiver.

He's never dropped a pass in the NFL, just sayin.

Na I agree that I don't like that kind of coverage, but typically we mix it all in. Yesterday we didn't put pressure on ANY WRs
and goddamn did our oline look like ****...
could take that with a grain of salt. Kerrigan and Orakpo may be the best 3-4 OLD combo in the league

BTW the Eli apologists were out in force early yesterday. The pick was a poor decision. if you watch the video you will see that Kerrigan was standing in the way and KMac was already on the ground when Eli threw the ball. The play had broken down and he either needed to loft it over the DE or throw it away.

The only decision worse than that yesterday was LT's starting Ryan Torian over either Knowshon or Green-Ellis.

But LT is a rook. Eli is an 8 year vet.

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.

If you watch the play you can see that all this was clear when Eli threw the ball. There was not a lot of time to adjust, but after 8 years the game should have slowed down enough to make the right decision. This is just like the Cruz adjustment in pre season. there is no adjustment on a hot route screen. You step back and throw and you have to believe your lineman is making the block
bottom line, not even debatable.
The DE is suppose to be cut Moorhead. During that play 90% of the time the defender is in the passing lane, but just hunched over or on the ground. Awful job by McKenzie.
The fact that it was INT'd rather than a batted ball is just bad luck.

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.
yea it was a poor decision. so was that throw to bradshaw in the flat with a linebacker 5 ft away and closing. we abandoned the run. ughhh i dont know you guuyyss
you guys have no concept of how that play is suppose to be ran
yea but when your left tackle goes for a dends legs and fails dont throw it in his direction, throw it away.
im thought eli played well at times, he didnt "stink up" the place. nothing was flowing, absolutely no consistency on either side of the ball. it was a **** show. with our schedule and with rex friggin grossman throwing all over us for over 300 yards, im very worried.
by the time the olineman fails the ball is already leaving the hand. Its a bang-bang play

Eli wasn't good at all by any means, but our O-line totally collapsed in the 2nd half, worse than anything I've ever seen. And why did we abandon the run BEFORE we were even losing??
Our LBs were giving up plays alllll over the middle of the field, but I guess I almost expected that.
Very disappointing. But the first loss is out of the way, so hopefully something clicks going into next week.
im really not understanding the knocks on eli too much.
He made some nice plays and threw the ball away alot. Isn't that what everybody was crying about?
I couldn't stomach how they kept popping up his completion %. He was like 3 for 12 or whatever to start the game and there were drops and he threw the ball away.
I am going to break it down tom night.

Take off your rose colored glasses when you do. Although I'm sure you won't.

honestly you have really become a troll..
besides the pick, which wasn't his fault, what else was your knocks on him?
I mean besides the fact he couldn't settle AT ALL and was running all night.

He could barely get the ball off yesterday and when he did it was typically effective
How many balls did he throw away, i hear nothing about u praising him for that while u were killing him ALL off season and last year for it.
NOW your asking him to make plays? If its not there throw it away, how many times have u said that
hence why ur a troll

And you are becoming an Eli apologist.

You require nothing of your "future Hall of Famer" QB. Except to "not be horrible" If he has one bad game he gets a pass from me. But this is a huge pattern with him. He played lousy in pre season and now its continued into the regular season. Good thing he had Nicks to make some plays. Otherwise it would have been uglier.

The kid didn't stand out in his poor play. the whole team played lousy. And this loss is not on him except that he was one of the many contributors to the poor performance.

We lost to a bad team and did it in an embarrassing way. But in Matt's world, the QB was a "shining beacon of great play" in a sea of traitors and misfits.

And I'm a troll. get real Matt.

Bradshaw is typicaly a better short yardage back becuase hes small strong and shifty. On short yardage you know they are going to play the LOS hard and sometimes its hard for a big back like JAcobs to fit in those tiny spots.
Bradshaw has actually been a really good short yardage back for us, but Moses couldn't part that line of scrimmage on that play yesterday

lol. I feel alot better about Romo seeing how he did vs the Jets defense now too

You made the wrong decision starting Freeman. Romo outproduced him in FF points. Decisions like that will cost you this season. You are stubborn like TC.

And did you notice that the Arizona D outproduced the GB D?

did you notice that pretty much EVERY defense outproduced GB D this week.
I feel fine going wtih Freeman vs Det with Romo vs the Jets. Jets D looked shaky, wasn't expecting that. I'd do it 10 out of 10 times to start the season.
Dez Bryant is going to be a problem

Didn't you say that I made a mistake by starting Arizona? yes you did. You backtrack better than Michael Jackson.

And true to my word, I will drop them like a bad habit tomorrow.

you got lucky on a kick return lol, dont pat urself on the back too much. Cam Newton threw for 400 yards in his rookie debute against them lol... you got lucky

You have the wrong MJ as your avi in FF. My choices were GB vs. NO or Zona vs. Cam. No one saw Newton doing what he did. And may i remind you that GB had a 108 yard return.

But my choice was still a plus. Unlike your choice of QB.

no bigger moon walk than u killing Eli for not being more conservative with the ball and then cry when he is and then say u want him to make plays
your like a woman. Infact Im going to call u Mammy instead of PAppy from now on

Thats right Matt. For our "Hall of Fame Gunslinger" (gunslinger still cracks me up) I expect him to make plays AND not give it to the other team.

Its called being a "top ten" QB.

Thats why Romo isn't one. he makes plays but he gives it to the other team, like last night. And right now, I'm not sure our boy is one either.

"If it isn't there, don't throw it"
but yet yesterday when it wasn't there, u wanted him to throw it anyway apparently by your statements today

No.... I expect him to step up better in the pocket. I expect him to make the subtle moves in the pocket to create more time (ala Marino), I expect him to wait until the last second if needed for a guy to break open and be willing to take the hit. I expect him to hit the hot WR in a blitz and I expect him to throw those balls in places where only his guy to catch it.

When those things can't happen, I expect him to throw it away or take the sack.

You have ZERO consistancy in anything you say

Wrong again. Throwing it where only your guy can catch it almost always means throwing it low. When you get the ball up on short passes they can be picked. As we saw last year.

And its exactly what Tom Brady does. Thus so few picks for him.

I consider Defense this teams strength. W/o Tuck and Osi it was miserable.
I agree to an extent. I mean vs the run i think we are BEYOND solid. Getting pressure on theQB? BEYOND solid. I mean we were missing 2 of our top 3 pass rushers (however u want to slice it) and we were still cracking Grossman.
On the flipside u do have to give him credit. He took a beating and it took it early and he kept getting up. As bad as it was for us, I have respect for Grossman after yesterday
BUT - the inability to cover in our secondary is such a weakness that it overshadows everything else
Offensively, we really don't know much becuase our OLine looked brutal. Eli played a conservative game (the same kind Mammy cried for in all of his knocks) the backs did decent with what they had.

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.

ur a fool if u think that aws on eli. Thats a bang-bang play. McKenzie HAD to cut block the DE to make it work. You can't wait for that to happen, you have to just do it. The fact that it was picked was just bad luck. Typically thats just a batted ball
Let the grown ups talk before u start trolling pappy

I'm not saying that the break down of the play was on Eli. I do expect our veteran QB to see that the play had broken down and adjust accordingly. I don't expect him to force it with the DE standing in the passing lane and KMac laying on the ground.

If you watch the play you can see that all this was clear when Eli threw the ball. There was not a lot of time to adjust, but after 8 years the game should have slowed down enough to make the right decision. This is just like the Cruz adjustment in pre season. It was Cruz's fault that he didn't make the sight adjustment, just as it was KMac's fault that he missed the block, but the DECISION to throw the ball in both plays was all on Eli.
The only decision worse than that yesterday was LT's starting Ryan Torian over either Knowshon or Green-Ellis>>>>The sad part is that LT did not even realize this until after the Giants Game. I went to my team to execute what I planned and Strategized on Friday--to find out that I did not have a clue wtf I was doing. Last night after the skins game, I am trying to drag and drop Knowshon and Derek Hagan into my starting line up and it's not working. I'm like wtf is this **** broken or something...then the unsettling reality came over me.

i have a HUUUGE knock on Eli i almost forgot to bring up
Mammy - you should love this
WHY THE **** DO WE TAKE FOREVER TOGET THE PLAY OFF?!?!
Granted things were looking grim, but we had the ball with over 5 minutes left down two scores, we are in a "hurry up" offense and we STILL are only getting the ball off with like 5 seconds on the play clock
ITS GROSS
I want to know whose responsible for this because i'm not sure if its Eli, Coughlin, or Gilbride
but i'm DEF putting half the blame on Coughlin for not getting it fixed. I've just had enough of it.

yea, it's been a running trait for all of Eli's career. But he's also had TC and Gilbride(for most) his whole career. So.....it's obviously still a problem that hasn't been fixed at least 5 years in the making. that is pretty bad...

im going to put it on eli for yesterday
I mean hes switching WRs all over the field while the clock is ticking. ****in call routes from the line. Keep everybody where they were

Eli was making good throws in the face of pressure - when he could.
Impossible to create time when theres leaks ALL over the line and pressure is coming from all angles. Its amazing how Giants fans forget this, but then take pride that the concept we've built our defense around.
He was def hitting hot WRs.
Throw the ball only where his guy could catch it? But thjat would go against EVERYTHING you hate. What if that means the receiver would have to reach for the ball, or jump for it?
You have ZERO consistancy in anything you say

Wrong again. Throwing it where only your guy can catch it almost always means throwing it low. When you get the ball up on short passes they can be picked. As we saw last year.

that may possibly of been the stupides tthing you've ever said. Congrats, you've shut me up. I dont even know how to respond to such a mindless point being made

I think of it as more of leading shorterpasses over the middle, and throwing over the outside shoulder like we saw so many times with Nicks last season.
throwing low on those short passes works too, but definitely more difficult to come up with, in my opinion.

every play is different.
It depends who the defender is, where the defender is, who the receiver is, what kind of route, how much spacing

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.

ur a fool if u think that aws on eli.

OK LT. Make sure to click on the "matchup" button to check your starting lineup. But its not that hard to make adjustments.

The "matchup" screen is the one we all follow during the games. Please ask for help if you aren't absolutely sure. Except for Matt, we are all willing to help with everything but who to play because its no fun if you don't just rely on your own opinion.

By "low" I mean at the numbers. Sometimes you have to throw lower in tight coverage. But Eli's tips last year were almost all above the head passes. Those are dangerous. you almost never see Brady throw it there.

Interesting to see how he actually adapts. Theres alot of junk about him not fitting and all of that. I think its garbage, I think he may beast there.

He's just another cog in the passing game. He should be a decent 3rd FF WR. Probably something like 850 yards and maybe 6 TD's.

I wouldn't look for him to be a game changer.

1100 and 8 - more if welker contines to get injured

I don't see that at all. The TE's will be even bigger inthe offense this season. But I do think that Ocho will be a nice contributor.

ok found matchup---
What's up with projected and actual. Yesterday I thought my projected was my actual and today it's not? ....and I'm in finance-scary.

Well that shows your statring lineup and the projected points (projected doesn't mean much, its Yahoo's opinion). But you can only adjust your lineup on your "My Team"screen. thats shows all the players (starters and bench) on your team. The only change you can make now is Hagen for Branch since neither player has started yet.

OK-Hagan & Branch--Because my limit for the week is 3 TOTAL wr's correct? So--I used up my 2 TOTAL rb's with Charles and Torain(cause I'm an idiot) and I cannot add anymore rb's for week#1, Correct?

that's right. once that person's game happens, that slot is locked till next week.
LT, I thought we went over this last week!! Always play your best matchup, and hope for the best! There's no player swapping.

We did--You tried to tell me...I was thinking something else.

Don't fret it LT. We will check with you over the week to make sure you have the starters you want for week 2.

Some games start at 11, some games start at 2. One Sunday and one Monday. If you have a player that goes at 2 and another that starts at 11 you have to get your lineup set by the first start of games. If you have 2 guys going in the late games then you can wait and change it just before the game. If you have a guy that plays at 11 that you wanted to change out for a guy that starts at 2 and don't do it 5 minutes before the first set of games you are screwed. You can always change before the 2nd set of games but once a guy is in and the game has started you can't change anything.
