Everything else is suspect. and hopefully we can utilize that like greenbay does. everyones worried about tightends that can block, but our running game looked fine in preseason as did the rest of the o line. im not worried.

Like if it says Sep. 10...it will probably process over the night, and you can plug in that player/defense after that. yeah LT also your waiver position changes from week to week it rotates based on pickups and such....if three managers are after one playerand you have the higher waver position you get the player i they do you loose....go over all the rules LT.there a more to this game than meets the eye.....[B]

OH **** ME! I knew I moved Driver into my actives last night.....I forgot about the save changes tab.
There must a a waiver priority list somewhere?


On the main league page, there's a column next to teams that should say waiver....teams with numbers 1 thru 12.

If I'm waiver 3, and youre waiver 7, and we both put claims on the same guy, I will "win" the claim so to speak.
The original waiver order is determined by your draft position I believe. And every time you have a claim go thru successfully, youre bumped back to 12th.

hes an overrated catcher. His hands really aren't that solid.... just another fan favorite hype who has the physical tools and won't amount to anything

I dont get too excited about draft picks usually. I like KP AFTER we got him, didnt know much about him. Nicks obviously was a awesome pick for us I felt...
THIS year though, Austin and Prince I was kind of excited about I guess....

I think how it works is from kickoff of the first game of the week, until weds. everyone who would be a free agent, is considered on waivers. that way nobody can "ninja add" a 3rd string RB after the first 2 break their legs on back to back plays. lol

okay so we have an issue:

me and blondie missed the playoff settings, its set to 4 teams. Since the first game was yesterday its going to be a pain in the ***

But either way we never voted on playoffs this year

do u guys want 4 or 6 teams in the playoffs?

4 team means tha tthe playoffs will start week 15 and there will be no byes

6 team means that the playoffs will start week 14. The top 2 seeds will get a buy week 14 while 3 thru 6 play and then 15 is the semis and 16 is the finals...

Yup, he was the only player targeted last year that didnt have a dropped pass.

I have no idea how anyone could possibly say his hands are overrated if the ball hardly ever comes his way and when it has, he has always caught it.

Btw Dez..take if from me (since I have like 20 bets every year lol) send Matt a PM of the trade...not that he's every renegged and I don't think he would...but the specifics of bets get lost over the course of a season...it's good to be able to check your PM's for the exact wording of a bet when it comes down to the wire.

Same guy who drafted this one and made a sick trade. If it makes you feel better to give him so much credit than by all means continue. I drafted 95% of that team and the year before. I picked my line up every week, placed my trades, picked up my waivers, remembered to play a kicker and everything. It's not just the draft as you know my friend. I love how much it bothers you. We have guys that we drafted because of their press coverage talents and we are asking them play zone. This is why I could not understand the Fewell hire in the first place (which i said at the time).

The only guys who played well were Nicks and JPP. The rest of the team stunk up the joint. (although I will give BJ a pass because he only got 6 carries)

I wonder what will happen when we play a good team.

I can understand the zone coverage in the first half. 

Trying to hide the fact we were out of two starters on the defensive line (Tuck, Osi)

But after halftime and there were no adjustments, the Redskins just sat back and played catch with there receivers.

Eli wasn't good at all by any means, but our O-line totally collapsed in the 2nd half, worse than anything I've ever seen. And why did we abandon the run BEFORE we were even losing??
Our LBs were giving up plays alllll over the middle of the field, but I guess I almost expected that.
Very disappointing. But the first loss is out of the way, so hopefully something clicks going into next week.

You and I were watching a different game. The only thing we agree on is JPP.

Eli made a few nice plays early and then stunk up the place. KP is lost in this defense. He is always late to pick up WR's released by corners into his area. He was much better suited for Spags defense.

And what running game? We had 19 total carries. BJ was the better RB on the field yesterday. Bradshaw was lousy.

We better win next week or this season will spiral out of control.

Na I agree that I don't like that kind of coverage, but typically we mix it all in. Yesterday we didn't put pressure on ANY WRs

and goddamn did our oline look like ****...

could take that with a grain of salt. Kerrigan and Orakpo may be the best 3-4 OLD combo in the league

i disliked the signing too - but warmed up to it after I read a lil more about Fewell

I think Bradshaw and Ballard looks very good as well. Our LBs and DLine players really good. We look pretty legit against the run.

KP has his moments and was lucky to pop that ball out of armstrongs hands - but he has to do better in coverage

oh, and did anyone notice that JPP and Tollefson played the entire game? Without depth, that defense cannot stay on the field as long as they did yesterday. Turrrble.

We need our ends back, and having Prince back would help (at least I assume he would) too.

the good news about this is that we have a new center and so maybe they are still learning. Hopfully.

But keep in mind our OLine looked awful first two games of teh season last year as well

I think it was just growing pains and playing a very underrated defense in Washington.

that's why i said he wasnt *good* but commented on the total failure of our o-line to do their job at all in the 2nd half. Although they had some big lapses in the 1st half also, just not as regularly. We made some rookie jobbers on the skins d-line looks like ****ing all-pros

well thats what happens when your starting DEs are out for the game.

Not that we missed them too much. Tolly and JPP did a good job getting pressure all day and we were solid vs the run.

I didn't think BRadshaw looked that bad yesterday at all. I think most of the issues came from lack of blocking.

Except one run, he had like 7 yards on. If he would of busted it to the sidelines instead of back up the middle he might of broke it

I'm not saying that the break down of the play was on Eli. I do expect our veteran QB to see that the play had broken down and adjust accordingly. I don't expect him to force it with the DE standing in the passing lane and KMac laying on the ground.

If you watch the play you can see that all this was clear when Eli threw the ball. There was not a lot of time to adjust, but after 8 years the game should have slowed down enough to make the right decision. This is just like the Cruz adjustment in pre season. It was Cruz's fault that he didn't make the sight adjustment, just as it was KMac's fault that he missed the block, but the DECISION to throw the ball in both plays was all on Eli.

yea but when your left tackle goes for a dends legs and fails dont throw it in his direction, throw it away.

im thought eli played well at times, he didnt "stink up" the place. nothing was flowing, absolutely no consistency on either side of the ball. it was a **** show. with our schedule and with rex friggin grossman throwing all over us for over 300 yards, im very worried.

The DE is suppose to be cut Moorhead. During that play 90% of the time the defender is in the passing lane, but just hunched over or on the ground. Awful job by McKenzie.

The fact that it was INT'd rather than a batted ball is just bad luck.

And you are becoming an Eli apologist.

You require nothing of your "future Hall of Famer" QB. Except to "not be horrible" If he has one bad game he gets a pass from me. But this is a huge pattern with him. He played lousy in pre season and now its continued into the regular season. Good thing he had Nicks to make some plays. Otherwise it would have been uglier.

The kid didn't stand out in his poor play. the whole team played lousy. And this loss is not on him except that he was one of the many contributors to the poor performance.

We lost to a bad team and did it in an embarrassing way. But in Matt's world, the QB was a "shining beacon of great play" in a sea of traitors and misfits.

Wonder why LT hasn't showed up this morning. The Ryan Torrain thing was not his best moment.

I still think you are winning (probably by a lot) this week but it will be fun to sweat it out with you tonight. Lets hope the Pats D/ST doesn't do what it did last year at Miami.

Why are we running a sweep on 3rd and 1 and why is Bradshaw in the game on short yardage instead of Jacobs. I just don't understand...

Bradshaw is typicaly a better short yardage back becuase hes small strong and shifty. On short yardage you know they are going to play the LOS hard and sometimes its hard for a big back like JAcobs to fit in those tiny spots.

Bradshaw has actually been a really good short yardage back for us, but Moses couldn't part that line of scrimmage on that play yesterday

I disagree. QB is huge in this league.

I know you are high on Hightower but i think he's over rated. He is a straight line runner and will not produce in the long run in Wash.

I disagree. QB is huge in this league.

I know you are high on Hightower but i think he's over rated. He is a straight line runner and will not produce in the long run in Wash.

it is, but it costs u value in later rounds... so it evens out

ESPECIALLY this year. There is a TON of late round talent at QB

I love Hightower. We have a top rushing defense I still feel like. He still had a legit day. Shanahan is going to FEEEEED him. He will beast this year. The value i got on him is sickness

Not sure about that. Orton is now playing for a much more conservative HC. He won't throw for much more than 3000 yards this season. Look for the running game to be featured in Denver.

I actually like Denver as a sleeper this year. QB makes few mistakes. they got Dumerville back and the D should be better in general. I like them for 9-7.

But my choice was still a plus. Unlike your choice of QB.

Only need him vs. Buffalo at home. I need depth at RB. I already have a great FF QB. Proposed a trade with shocks but I'll trade with anyone who has an abundance of RB's.

I do think Atlanta is overrated. Julio Jones is legit, but they could of signed randy moss and not ****ed up their draft and got some defensive players and some oline like they actually needed.

But they will def be better than what they played.

Chicago's defense looked awesome. Idoubt they maintain that kind of dominanace though

Thats right Matt. For our "Hall of Fame Gunslinger" (gunslinger still cracks me up) I expect him to make plays AND not give it to the other team.

Its called being a "top ten" QB. 

Thats why Romo isn't one. he makes plays but he gives it to the other team, like last night. And right now, I'm not sure our boy is one either.

No.... I expect him to step up better in the pocket. I expect him to make the subtle moves in the pocket to create more time (ala Marino), I expect him to wait until the last second if needed for a guy to break open and be willing to take the hit. I expect him to hit the hot WR in a blitz and I expect him to throw those balls in places where only his guy to catch it.

When those things can't happen, I expect him to throw it away or take the sack.

Granted things were looking grim, but we had the ball with over 5 minutes left down two scores, we are in a "hurry up" offense and we STILL are only getting the ball off with like 5 seconds on the play clock

Impossible to create time when theres leaks ALL over the line and pressure is coming from all angles. Its amazing how Giants fans forget this, but then take pride that the concept we've built our defense around.

yea, it's been a running trait for all of Eli's career. But he's also had TC and Gilbride(for most) his whole career. So.....it's obviously still a problem that hasn't been fixed at least 5 years in the making. that is pretty bad...

I do think Atlanta is overrated. Julio Jones is legit, but they could of signed randy moss and not ****ed up their draft and got some defensive players and some oline like they actually needed.

But they will def be better than what they played.

Chicago's defense looked awesome. Idoubt they maintain that kind of dominanace though

Wrong again. Throwing it where only your guy can catch it almost always means throwing it low. When you get the ball up on short passes they can be picked. As we saw last year.

And its exactly what Tom Brady does. Thus so few picks for him.

I agree to an extent. I mean vs the run i think we are BEYOND solid. Getting pressure on theQB? BEYOND solid. I mean we were missing 2 of our top 3 pass rushers (however u want to slice it) and we were still cracking Grossman.

On the flipside u do have to give him credit. He took a beating and it took it early and he kept getting up. As bad as it was for us, I have respect for Grossman after yesterday

BUT - the inability to cover in our secondary is such a weakness that it overshadows everything else

Offensively, we really don't know much becuase our OLine looked brutal. Eli played a conservative game (the same kind Mammy cried for in all of his knocks) the backs did decent with what they had.

Again - how bout Ballard. I like that kid. I thought he really stepped up in all aspects of the game for us yesterday. Gotta go back to the film and keep an eye on his blocking

BTW the Eli apologists were out in force early yesterday. The pick was a poor decision. if you watch the video you will see that Kerrigan was standing in the way and KMac was already on the ground when Eli threw the ball. The play had broken down and he either needed to loft it over the DE or throw it away.

The only decision worse than that yesterday was LT's starting Ryan Torian over either Knowshon or Green-Ellis.

But LT is a rook. Eli is an 8 year vet.

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.

ur a fool if u think that aws on eli. Thats a bang-bang play. McKenzie HAD to cut block the DE to make it work. You can't wait for that to happen, you have to just do it. The fact that it was picked was just bad luck. Typically thats just a batted ball

Let the grown ups talk before u start trolling pappy


I'm not saying that the break down of the play was on Eli. I do expect our veteran QB to see that the play had broken down and adjust accordingly. I don't expect him to force it with the DE standing in the passing lane and KMac laying on the ground.

If you watch the play you can see that all this was clear when Eli threw the ball. There was not a lot of time to adjust, but after 8 years the game should have slowed down enough to make the right decision. This is just like the Cruz adjustment in pre season. WHY THE **** DO WE TAKE FOREVER TOGET THE PLAY OFF?!?!

Granted things were looking grim, but we had the ball with over 5 minutes left down two scores, we are in a "hurry up" offense and we STILL are only getting the ball off with like 5 seconds on the play clock

yea, it's been a running trait for all of Eli's career. But he's also had TC and Gilbride(for most) his whole career. So.....it's obviously still a problem that hasn't been fixed at least 5 years in the making. that is pretty bad...

I consider Defense this teams strength. W/o Tuck and Osi it was miserable.

I agree to an extent. I mean vs the run i think we are BEYOND solid. Getting pressure on theQB? BEYOND solid. I mean we were missing 2 of our top 3 pass rushers (however u want to slice it) and we were still cracking Grossman.

On the flipside u do have to give him credit. He took a beating and it took it early and he kept getting up. As bad as it was for us, I have respect for Grossman after yesterday

BUT - the inability to cover in our secondary is such a weakness that it overshadows everything else

Offensively, we really don't know much becuase our OLine looked brutal. Eli played a conservative game (the same kind Mammy cried for in all of his knocks) the backs did decent with what they had.

Again - how bout Ballard. I like that kid. I thought he really stepped up in all aspects of the game for us yesterday. Gotta go back to the film and keep an eye on his blocking

i like ballard. hes a big boy with decent speed.

And its exactly what Tom Brady does. Thus so few picks for him.



I think of it as more of leading shorterpasses over the middle, and throwing over the outside shoulder like we saw so many times with Nicks last season.
throwing low on those short passes works too, but definitely more difficult to come up with, in my opinion.

The pick was a poor decision. if you watch the video you will see that Kerrigan was standing in the way and KMac was already on the ground when Eli threw the ball. The play had broken down and he either needed to loft it over the DE or throw it away.

The only decision worse than that yesterday was LT's starting Ryan Torian over either Knowshon or Green-Ellis.

But LT is a rook. Eli is an 8 year vet.

But in review, Eli wasn't any worse than most of the rest of the team.

I expect him to hit the hot WR in a blitz and I expect him to throw those balls in places where only his guy to catch it.

When those things can't happen, I expect him to throw it away or take the sack.

Eli was making good throws in the face of pressure - when he could.

Impossible to create time when theres leaks ALL over the line and pressure is coming from all angles. Its amazing how Giants fans forget this, but then take pride that the concept we've built our defense around.

By "low" I mean at the numbers. Sometimes you have to throw lower in tight coverage. But Eli's tips last year were almost all above the head passes. Those are dangerous. you almost never see Brady throw it there.

I'm talking about the short passes Matt. And low means not above the head of the receiver.

Not at his knees.

Almost all of Eli's picks are on short passes.

It depends who the defender is, where the defender is, who the receiver is, what kind of route, how much spacing

By "low" I mean at the numbers. Sometimes you have to throw lower in tight coverage. But Eli's tips last year were almost all above the head passes. Those are dangerous. you almost never see Brady throw it there.

Thats right Matt. For our "Hall of Fame Gunslinger" (gunslinger still cracks me up) I expect him to make plays AND not give it to the other team.

When those things can't happen, I expect him to throw it away or take the sack.

Matchups are on the leagues main page to the right. It shows who is playing who and what the scores are. Thats considered the matchups. I also think there is a tab to the top of the page that says matchups

But you can only adjust your lineup on your "My Team"screen. thats shows all the players (starters and bench) on your team. The only change you can make now is Hagen for Branch since neither player has started yet.

But you can only adjust your lineup on your "My Team"screen. thats shows all the players (starters and bench) on your team. The only change you can make now is Hagen for Branch since neither player has started yet.OK-Hagan & Branch--Because my limit for the week is 3 TOTAL wr's correct? So--I used up my 2 TOTAL rb's with Charles and Torain(cause I'm an idiot) and I cannot add anymore rb's for week#1, Correct?

He's just another cog in the passing game. He should be a decent 3rd FF WR. Probably something like 850 yards and maybe 6 TD's.

I wouldn't look for him to be a game changer.

Its not the "limit". You must use exactly 2 RB's and 3 WR's. 

Both the RB's you had in your starting lineup have already played. You can only add or take out playeres from your starting lineup who haven't played (or their teams played) yet. So your only choice for week 1 in Branch or Hagan.

I don't see that at all. The TE's will be even bigger inthe offense this season. But I do think that Ocho will be a nice contributor.

I don't see that at all. The TE's will be even bigger inthe offense this season. But I do think that Ocho will be a nice contributor.
Brady just needs to be human tonight. That is all that matters...

Some games start at 11, some games start at 2. One Sunday and one Monday. If you have a player that goes at 2 and another that starts at 11 you have to get your lineup set by the first start of games. If you have 2 guys going in the late games then you can wait and change it just before the game. If you have a guy that plays at 11 that you wanted to change out for a guy that starts at 2 and don't do it 5 minutes before the first set of games you are screwed. You can always change before the 2nd set of games but once a guy is in and the game has started you can't change anything.

Some games start at 11, some games start at 2. One Sunday and one Monday. If you have a player that goes at 2 and another that starts at 11 you have to get your lineup set by the first start of games.
