Those early career champion Giants all went through this. Manning
with the interceptions. Jacobs with his demotion and weird behavior
issues. Umenyiora with his contract dispute and ugly public feud with GM
Jerry Reese. And Tuck, this year, with his injuries. Each of those
players has emerged from his mid-career adversity better for the
experience. Manning led the way, playing brilliantly from the start of
this season. But the light has gone on for the others at the right time.

<font color="#0000FF">Jacobs is running as hard as in the old days</font>, no matter what Jerry
Rice thinks. Umenyiora has shoved the contract stuff to the back burner
and is focused on knocking down quarterbacks again. And Tuck? Well,
yeah, the nagging injuries are still there. He's still in more pain than
he'd like to be, and it's still keeping him from doing everything he'd
like to be doing on the field. But this year, at a still-young 28, Tuck
has learned that that's OK.

"My teammates know where my heart is," Tuck said. "My coaches know
where my heart is. And I just came to the realization that I'm not going
to be healthy this year. I'm not going to put up the stats that I've
put up. But that doesn't mean that I can't help this football team win
games. And at the end of the day, that's the goal."

I wonder why people continue to write and say stuff like this when Kase and MH think nothing ever changed?

so JPP cancelled his auto signing last night

when he rescheduals were gonna get this pic signed:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/mbud56/JPP9.jpg

Monday JWill and Tolly are doing a* dual signing. $30 bucks for the both of them. We are going to get Tolly to sign:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/mbud56/Tolly1.jpg

but then we are on the fence about which JWill pic to get signed, so which do u think: Rodgers or BRady

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/mbud56/jwill3.jpg

or

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/mbud56/jwill2.jpg
Awesome Pics. The Brady one is comical, and the look on Rodgers face is hysterical.

Significance of both games were big. GB-we knocked out #1 seeded playoff team.

NE-we handed Pat's a loss for first time in years in their own stadium. Good choices...I'd get inscriptions too. I like both, but would opt for Rodger's.

I see you found the Rice interview:

“I like Ahmad Bradshaw, I like Brandon Jacobs,” Rice told ESPN. “But I feel like Brandon Jacobs is a little soft. He can’t get away from a defender. The guy is 265, and it upsets me when I see him get tackled by a guy that’s like 190 or 200 pounds.”

sorry to upset you Jerry.

players in the Giants' locker room said they weren't concerned that
he would have to miss any more time or Sunday's NFC Championship Game
against the 49ers in San Francisco.

"Are you kidding me? He's Eli Manning," defensive lineman Dave Tollefson (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/9839/dave-tollefson)
said Wednesday. "They probably have some kind of special virus-killing

lol, people at my job are so easily entertained, it's ridiculous. This Saturday is the night of our big "Winter Gala", which we do every winter....or as I like to call it: "an excuse to hang out with some friends, get blackout drunk and take home some random chick here who i'll most likely awkwardly work with later"...

So this morning before a short meeting in our conference room, our supervisor asks "are you flasking it to the Gala this weekend, JP?"
and i responded with "uhh...yea....suits have what? 5 pockets?"</P>

and apparently that was the funniest thing ever, because the room erupted with laughter.
Then after the meeting:
"JP, you bringing a hott date this year?"

"Do you bring sand to the beach??"</P>

more laughter.

It's like these people dont watch tv or movies...or god forbid, know what the internet is...lol</P>

Carlos Rogers' salsa dance following an interception in
the 49ers' 27-20 win over the Giants on Nov. 13 didn't sit right with
Giants receiver Victor Cruz, who uses the dance to celebrate each time he scores a touchdown.

"It was a little bit of disrespect," Cruz said when asked on
Wednesday. "I understand it was something I do and to do it on me and do
it front of our sideline, it was a little disrespectful. But I
understand that, it's all part of the game. Things happen and guys are
going to do that. He wasn't the only one to mock that dance throughout
the season."

\When asked if he owes the Pro Bowl cornerback for his dance, Cruz said
that the media can answer that question, but didn't deny that he has a
chance to get some revenge.

"A little bit," Cruz said.

Nobody loves Victor Cruz more than me...BUT, I really don't get these guys who like to celebrate with one dance or another when they do something good on the field, but don't like it when they are mimiced by an opposing player when they do something on the field.</P>

Its the same as Chris Canty or whoever doing the belt move last week vs. Aaron Rodgers. . When you have some dance thing you do, you have to accept that others are going to mimic it. If you don't like it then just give the ball back to the ref and go back to the bench.</P>

It's that time of year when mock drafts start coming out. With just four
teams left in the playoffs, including the Giants, fans and the media
are looking ahead and trying to predict which players each team will be
targeting in a few months.

While the Giants' draft position is still in question (the Giants
can pick 29th, 31st or 32nd), that doesn't mean we can't take a guess at
who they will be choosing in the Draft. In Mel Kiper's (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2012/story/_/id/7467078/mel-kiper-first-mock-draft-year) first mock draft of the year, he has the Giants going with an area of need.

Kiper has the Giants taking offensive tackle Zebrie Sanders (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/player/_/id/27672/zebrie-sanders) from Florida State to beef up their offensive line. With Kareem McKenzie a
free agent after the year and the offensive line having an overall down
year, it would make sense for the Giants to target an offensive lineman
in the draft. It's also unknown at this point whether rookie James Brewer will be ready to be a starting right tackle next season.

Carlos Rogers' salsa dance following an interception in the 49ers' 27-20 win over the Giants on Nov. 13 didn't sit right with Giants receiver Victor Cruz, who uses the dance to celebrate each time he scores a touchdown.

"It was a little bit of disrespect," Cruz said when asked on Wednesday. "I understand it was something I do and to do it on me and do it front of our sideline, it was a little disrespectful. But I understand that, it's all part of the game. Things happen and guys are going to do that. He wasn't the only one to mock that dance throughout the season."

\When asked if he owes the Pro Bowl cornerback for his dance, Cruz said that the media can answer that question, but didn't deny that he has a chance to get some revenge.

"A little bit," Cruz said.</p>

Nobody loves Victor Cruz more than me...BUT, I really don't get these guys who like to celebrate with one dance or another when they do something good on the field, but don't like it when they are mimiced by an opposing player when they do something on the field.</p>

Its the same as Chris Canty or whoever doing the belt move last week vs. Aaron Rodgers. . When you have some dance thing you do, you have to accept that others are going to mimic it. If you don't like it then just give the ball back to the ref and go back to the bench.</p>

haha...like the End on SF....got a sack. sprinted off the field and sat on the bench, hands in his lap. it was awesome, and hilarious.</p>

The Thunder are going to be good for a really long time. I feel bad for the Sonics fans.

It's also unknown at this point whether rookie James Brewer will be ready to be a starting right tackle next season.

i still say Beatty to RT

oh, Morehead....I forgot to tell ya...
I watched the ESPN doc last night called Catching Hell...you seen it?</P>

Steve Bartman incident? It was awesome. The reason I was reminded of you was because the beginning of the doc focused briefly on Buckner in the 86 series.

I started to pick up on the fact that the documentary was basically talking about how with fans and media, it becomes less about a moment...and more about perception of the moment. And it dead on. I mean....in that specific situation, 2 pitchers had given up multiple hits, multiple runs, and then the 2nd reliever throws a wild pitch in a clutch at bat....AND THEN the Buckner play. Get who does everyone remember? Not the pitchers who totally blew the game, but the guy who snafu'd the last play. NOT TO MENTION, there was a game 7 AFTER that game that boston couldnt win. lol....it's so terrible the way we percieve things.
Don't get me wrong....i dont feel bad for boston...but I've always felt bad for Buckner. </P>

<h3>You're welcome, New York</h3>

If you're a
lifelong Seattle Mariners fan (as I am), then you too grimaced at the
loss of our exceptionally talented young right-handed pitcher, Michael
Pineda, in a trade to the New York Yankees. If you are like me too, all
thought of logic went out the window as we watched another good one get
away.</p>

But after the dust has settled, and our
emotions have calmed, this may have been one of the smarter moves this
whole offseason. This is a move in which seemingly both teams simply got
better. Of course, we Mariners fans only want our team to get better.</p>

I
haven't seen or heard much being made of this trade, and wonder aloud,
if the fans of the Yankees really know just how good Pineda is? You'd
never know from his win-loss record (due to the M's anemic run support),
but Yankees fans ... you guys just completely scored. The M's gaunt
offense just could not produce much of anything for either Pineda or
King Felix.</p>

Pineda is going to win a ton of games this year. Quote me on that.</p>

Now:
Who is this 22 year-old catcher Jesus Montero? This player we traded
Pineda for. Does he have the offensive upside that the Mariners so
direly need? Is Montero really the second-coming of Edgar Martinez?</p>

Yes,
yes. That is what they're saying, and that is what we are all waiting
for. We've even named a street after old Edgar up here, you know.</p>

The
Mariners had to do something this offseason. This does seem drastic and
not thoughtout completely, but what the hell do I know about a guy
(Montero) that has only played in 61 MLB games? There is a collective
expectation and fingers-crossed in the Northwest.</p>

Tell me something good, Yankees fans. Tell me something good.</p>

I re-watched the first Giants-49ers game earlier this week to get ready for the NFC title game. Here’s what I learned:</p>

1. The 49ers came out throwing aggressively from the first snap. They
threw 11 of 13 times to open the game and it was effective.</p>

Alex Smith got great protection and played an almost flawless game. I
only charted one truly bad pass he made the entire game. The other
incompletions were throwaways, drops, or tipped passes. His interception
came on a bad drop by Ted Ginn (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4168/ted-ginn).</p>

It was the best game I saw Smith play all year. These weren’t just
safe throws. Smith was very accurate and hit passes into small windows.
He had time to go through his progressions and find his second or third
read.</p>

ESPN.com’s Mike Sando notes that the 49ers threw more on early downs (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/57603/reading-the-coverage-on-alex-smith)against the Giants than any other game this year . . . until the win over the Saints in the playoffs.</p>

2. The Giants only got pressure on Smith late in the game. They almost never got pressure just rushing four defenders. Justin Tuck (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3286/justin-tuck) was playing hurt, so it’s a different New York front now. They will have to get pressure on Smith faster.</p>

Smith got hit and hurried almost as much as Eli Manning (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1657/eli-manning) during this game, but it only happened when New York made Smith hold the ball a while.</p>

<span id="more-180570"></span></p>

3. The Giants focused on stopping Vernon Davis (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3638/vernon-davis), usually with two defenders. They did a great job on him until a blown coverage late in the game. New York made Braylon Edwards (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3126/braylon-edwards) (now released), Ted Ginn, Michael Crabtree (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5135/michael-crabtree), and Delanie Walker (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3976/delanie-walker) beat them.</p>

4. New York played a lot of zone defense. After succeeding in man
coverage last week against the Packers, perhaps the Giants will go to
more man this around. Can Michael Crabtree and the other 49ers wideouts
beat man coverage on the outside?</p>

5.This wasn’t the defensive game you’d expect. (Although it wasn’t exactly cute (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/19/49ers-giants-will-not-be-a-cute-football-game/related/).)
There wasn’t a punt until midway through the third quarter. It was more
about long, slow, productive drives and good situational defense. There
were only four possessions in the first 25 minutes.</p>

Like the Saints-49ers game, there was an explosion of scoring late in
the game. The game’s four touchdowns took place in a nine minute span.</p>

6. Frank Gore (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3205/frank-gore)
came into the game gimpy and left at halftime with zero yards on six
carries. It’s impressive the 49ers managed to win despite only 50 yards
from their running backs. New York will probably load up and try to make
Smith beat them again.</p>

7. Braylon Edwards ran bad routes and had communication issues with
Smith twice in the red zone. Smith’s few misfires looked to be Edwards’
fault. It’s easy to see why the 49ers cut Edwards.</p>

8. This got way too long, so I’m going to do another post later
Thursday on observations from when the Giants had the ball. You can
also check out a preview by Silva (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/46046699/ns/sports-nfl/?ns=sports-nfl) for NBCSports.com. Our PFT picks are right here (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/19/pfts-conference-championship-picks/).</p>

I understand their concern. They jsut dont know the deal yet, but we've obviously seen Pineda.
But let's be honest....Seattle hasn't had any bats in forever. Suzuki doesn't count. what good is getting on base, if nobody else can hit the ball lol.
The deal makes sense for both teams obviously. The more I think about it, I guess we did what we have to. But our players arent getting any younger. It sucks to give up a young stud...but, that's how baseball works....</P>

49ers are going to throw because the Saints have a weak secondary and pass rush that they try to enhance by blitzing their safteys with. I would imagine the 49ers will be throwing more than the average fan would think, but be more balanced than they were this past week.

Alex Smith seems to absolutely be turning the corner. Thats why when Dezz was talking **** about the 49ers, i was just trying to point out that we might be seeing a young QB who finally has some support and a shot to be more than just a decent QB.

We had NO pressure on Smith in that game. The scary part is that even though Tuck is more healthy and seems to be making more of an impact - that WAS a game we had Osi back. that WAS a game that JPP was there. Their OLine handled us. BUT VD had a big day vs us and Boley was out that game which was a huge blow to us. Personally I think Braylon being gone also helps us. We are in for much more of a battle than I think most around here would realize. I actually felt better about the GB game than I did this game.

We are now throwing a ton of different looks out there. We changed some defensively philosophies during the Jets game and have been playing alot of different looks and concepts. What we did coverage wise in that last game doens't bother me.

Lets not forget that I still think the reason we lost this game was because they took that onside kick from us and the fact that Eli missed the read to hit Manningham wide open and threw a pick instead for not seeing the sight adjustment. Those two plays single handedly lost us that game.

Im not fearing Gore, but i'm not overlooking him either.

I think the accountability we had to have for BRaylon made them a harder team to cover, but his mistakes were obviously killer for the 9ers.

"I grew up a San Francisco 49er fan," Jacobs said. "I loved Jerry Rice. I
still love Jerry Rice. I have nothing negative to say about Jerry Rice.
If he feels that way, he feels that way. I wish he was going to try and
tackle me, though."

"Knocked out of the game means you got hit in the head," Jacobs said. "I
wish like hell one of them would try and hit me in my head, because
that means they're staying high instead of going for your legs."

"I really don't care how physical they are," Jacobs said. "I'm not
afraid of anybody on that team. I'm not afraid of anybody in that
organization. I'm ready to play football."

OK, so two weeks ago, the person that i passed along my season tickets to gave me the choice of going to the Broncos game or to this weekends game if the Patriots advanced...I have seen my team raise the Lamar Hunt Trophy 3 times. I am taking my youngest to her very first Playoff Game.. I certainly hope this will be her first and my Fourth......This has been a crazy week so far- Got my autograph request back from Peyton Manning yesterday(such a nice fella)..:) Went to a hole in the wall pawn shop the other day and purchased a Jordan Jersey, Carl Yastrzemski Autographed Ball, and a very old Beatles Book.. $40 for everything. Opened the Beatles book to find Autographs of all four of those bloody blokes inside....lol. There was some old scotch tape on one of the pages, and as i was getting ready to remove it, noticed what looked like hair stuck underneath...Yes, wierd, creepy, and interesting all at the same time........

I've never even seen a pawn shop around here. There used to be one near my road when i was living in the ghetto, that was there forever. but they shutdown recently. i never been in it anyway.</P>

I wrote about some takeaways after re-watching the first Giants-49ers game (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/19/takeaways-from-the-first-49ers-giants-game/) on Thursday. The post got so long, I broke it into two parts.</p>

Here’s what we learned from the first matchup when New York had the ball:</p>

1. The 49ers mostly double teamed Hakeem Nicks (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5136/hakeem-nicks), which left Victor Cruz (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6313/victor-cruz) in single coverage against Carlos Rogers (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3159/carlos-rogers) and Mario Manningham (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4654/mario-manningham) matched up against rookie cornerback Chris Culliver (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6624/chris-culliver).</p>

Yes, Rogers picked off Manning twice and won some battles. But this
is a matchup the 49ers have to be worried about. Cruz beat Rogers badly a
handful of times. Sometimes he’d have three steps on Rogers.</p>

2. Culliver may be a target for the Giants offense. The rookie is a
physical player that has held up very well his season overall, but he
got a lot of attention from the Saints last week and Manningham had
success against him in Week 10. There were two near misses to Manningham
that would have tied the game.</p>

3. The 49ers didn’t blitz a lot in the first game. When they did blitz, Eli Manning (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1657/eli-manning) made them pay.</p>

4. Manning is so much better with pressure in his face than he was
early in his career. Maybe you can teach pocket presence. He made a
number of gorgeous throws into small windows with a defender coming
right at him. The 49ers will have to take their chances he can’t do that
again.</p>

<span id="more-180753"></span></p>

5. Even though Manning played very well overall, the difference
overall was his two interceptions. One came on apparent miscommunication
with Manningham when the receiver stopped his route. These are the
types of mistakes Mannning has mostly avoided this season. The 49ers are
the league’s best at forcing turnovers.</p>

6. Right tackle Kareem McKenzie (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/880/kareem-mckenzie) is a big problem for the Giants. He is going to struggle to hold up on passing downs against Aldon Smith (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6477/aldon-smith). It got ugly a few times in the first matchup.</p>

The Giants tackles in general might be the weak spot of this team. If McKenzie holds up and David Diehl (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/940/david-diehl) and the Giants guards can battle Justin Smith (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2539/justin-smith),
the Giants have a good chance. I have my doubts they will hold up. It
wouldn’t surprise me if the 49ers defense made the Giants offensive line
look awful. Both of the tackles could get overmatched.</p>

7. The Giants had some success running early against the 49ers, but it didn’t last. Ahmad Bradshaw (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4305/ahmad-bradshaw)
missed the last game. It’s a lot harder to run outside against the fast
49ers linebackers, but using Bradshaw on some inside runs is a better
idea that rolling with Brandon Jacobs (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3146/brandon-jacobs) too much.</p>

8. The 49ers defense is the best in the league at tackling. They
won’t allow yards after the catch like the Packers did last week. Dashon Goldson (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4444/dashon-goldson) has great range and can make Manning pay for any lazy throws.</p>

9. Jake Ballard (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6310/jake-ballard) beat Patrick Willis (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4171/patrick-willis) a few times in the first game. If that happens often, the 49ers are in trouble. I would not expect it to happen often.</p>

10. Manning isn’t thought of as a “gunslinger” but no quarterback
tries (and completes) more difficult throws than him. I don’t trust his
protection on the outside, so that’s what this game may come down to.
Manning will have to be special.</p>

The 49ers will make Manning have to play at a very high level to beat them.</p>

The 49ers will make Manning have to play at a very high level to beat them.</p>

thats the way it was all year with Nicks, until the playoffs. Then they've decided they want to try and take Cruz away.

I forgot what the first pick was, but the second one was just Eli misreading the play. Could of just been bad luck time wise too..

I hate that knock on Eli. I think he just alwyas tried to make the play. He just has better trust, faith, and talent in his WRs now. Its making the difference.

Hard to say that onside kick wasn't a major game changer as well. It might as well of been another interception.

We need our OLine to be beasts this week. Bradshaw should actually make a huge difference for us. He'll make our oline look better because hes naturally our best back and he can keep the defense balanced because he can pass block, run, and catch.

They are also big hitters, which means they are vulnerable to big plays when those safteys come up to make the pop. We have to hold onto the ball and be quick. Can't dance.

I love Patrick Willis, but I think his pass coverage skills are a bit overrated.

I don't give a **** what anybody says, Eli defines gunslinger and always has.

I watched the whole game again last night on NFL Replay. What a great show that is.

Eli started the game 10/10. We moved the ball at will on them. We just couldn't score TD's, we should have had 14 points in the first quarter instead of 6. When Boley went out our D got ALOT worse. The TD to Davis was on Williams. Then Kendall Hunter ran right through our D. Pretty sure the first pick the WR fell down but on the 2nd one Manningham stopped his route. Akers made some long FG's as well. The ****ty field should neutralize him somewhat. Eli was making some amazing throws. One to Manningham on the sideline in particular. It would have fit through a shoe box. They tried to safety blitz on the Nicks TD but they didn't get there in time. Ballard was abusing the LB's. Seemed like everyone was open. Our D feel apart in the 2nd half and we didn't capitalize on anything. We HAVE to score TD's when we get close. That is the most important part of the game. We should have won that game 5 times over and we will win this time. STILL had a chance at the end of the game and if Mario catches that TD we are tied with 3 minutes left.

Blackburn has channeled his inner antonio pierce. Hes been great lining everyone up before plays. Hes getting great penetration against the run. I have always loved him. He was an absolute animal on special teams a few years back, getting every special teams player jacked up for kick offs. Hes out to prove himself.

whyyyy do we insist on using ware when bradshaw is hurting. why not use brandon. pardon the pun but i feel jacobs will wear opposing defenses down much faster and i can literally count the time ware has run for positive yards on one hand. 2 games left, i think he can handle 20 carries a game. he was used sparingly enough during the regular season.

There appears to be a stomach bug passing among the Giants players as they prepare for the NFC Championship Game.</p>

Eli Manning (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1657/eli-manning) had to leave practice on Wednesday because of a little intestinal distress and center David Baas (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3178/david-baas)
couldn’t practice on Friday for the same reason. He’s listed as
probable for Sunday’s game, which makes it seem like the bug spreading
is a bigger fear than any impact it might have on Baas’ play.</p>

Of more concern is tight end Jake Ballard (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6310/jake-ballard).
Ballard is listed as questionable for Sunday with a knee injury and Tom
Coughlin told reporters that Ballard had a procedure on the knee
Thursday. Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that the procedure wasn’t surgery (https://twitter.com/#%21/MikeGarafolo/statuses/160421890031230977).
Ballard missed the final two games of the regular season with a knee
sprain and he has not looked 100 percent in either of the team’s first
two playoff games.</p>

</div>

Here's to the little brother. Here's to the squirt. Here's to Beaver and Linus and Jim-Bob Walton.

Here's to the one who never gets the top bunk, never gets shotgun, never gets the last chicken leg.</p>

Here's to Eli Manning, the ultimate little brother. Eli the Lesser, Eli the Forgotten, Eli the Oh Your Youngest Son Plays, Too?</p>

Oh, he plays. The little brother with the perma-cowlick is one
game away from his second Super Bowl in four seasons as the star QB of
the New York Giants. If he can beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in
Candlestick Park, it would give him just as many Big Bowls as big
brother Peyton, and in five less seasons. </p>

Noogie!</p>

Wouldn't that be a tiny, little, private smirk across the
dinner table for Eli? For the sixth-grader who had to stand in the front
yard catching howitzer passes from his five-years-older-brother Peyton
while wearing a pillow, gloves and a helmet. Had to stand there while
Peyton hollered, "Hold still, Michelin Man!" Had to catch those things.</p>

</p><div class="inlinequote">
<h3>

After all those years of Eli being the Boying to Peyton's Manning, is it
possible that Eli is actually going to end up as the greatest Manning
of all?
</p>
</h3>
</div>

"Sometimes it just wasn't right," remembers their dad, Archie Manning,
with a laugh. "He looked like some big fat kid out there. Cooper and
Peyton just always messed with poor Eli. And you know Eli. He was always
quiet, so he just kinda took it."

He's not taking it anymore.</p>

And what about this -- after all those years of Eli being the
Boying to Peyton's Manning, is it possible that Eli is actually going to
end up as the greatest Manning of all?</p>

Settle down. It's possible. Consider:</p>

• Eli's playoff record is better than his brother's. Eli is 6-3 to Peyton's 9-10. </p>

• The scalps on Eli's belt are better. He got one off Tom
Brady and the 18-0 New England Patriots of 2007 in Super Bowl 42. A week
ago, he snagged one almost as good: Aaron Rodgers and the 15-1 Green
Bay Packers of 2011. Peyton's signature win? He beat Rex Freaking
Grossman.</p>

• Eli's four playoff road wins are tied for most in NFL history. Peyton's had only two.</p>

• Peyton has never thrown for as many yards as Eli did this season (4,933), even with more than half his games in domes.</p>

• Eli's been more Clutch Cargo this season than Peyton ever
has. His 15 fourth-quarter TD passes broke the NFL record held by Johnny
Unitas (1959) and -- oh, wait! -- Peyton Manning (2002). </p>

Is that a revenge wedgie or what?</p>

Can you imagine, Pops?</p>

"I'm not going there," says Archie. "But I know there's nobody happier
for Eli than Peyton. He's the biggest Eli fan in the world."</p>

You might have a fight over that in the Giants' locker room
now that Eli has led the Giants to five wins in their last six games.</p>

"I think we've got the best QB in the NFL," says Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks. "Don't matter what his name is."</p>

"This is probably the best he's ever played," says Archie,
"because we [the Giants] haven't been able to run the ball like we did
in past years. Plus, we had three changes in the offensive line [one
move, two new players], and all the injuries."</p>

Even former tormentor Cooper Manning, seven years older, has said he's never seen Eli play with such confidence.</p>

"He's been so good in the last two minutes," Archie says, and he's
right. Eli's five comeback wins this season were the most in the NFL,
tied with the 49ers' Alex Smith and whoever it was quarterbacking the
Denver Broncos. </p>

You think if Eli makes it to the Super Bowl in Indianapolis,
he'll call up Indy resident Peyton and ask, "Hey, Bud! You OK? You need
tickets to the game?"</p>

If Eli does end up with more rings than Peyton, it might be because he deserves it. The man watches more film than Roger Ebert.</p>

"I don't know if I've ever come to work here and his car wasn't already
in the lot," says tackle David Diehl. "He just outworks everybody. I was
here when he walked in as a rookie, and to see his development in the
eight years since then, it's amazing."</p>

Diehl is so fond of Eli that when Eli takes off running, Diehl
gets up and chases after him, even if the play is going to be dead by
the time he gets there. "I'm Marty McSorley and he's Wayne Gretzky.
Nothing better happen to him."</p>

</p><div class="mod-inline image image-right"><div style="margin-left:10px; width:300px;">[+] Enlargehttp://a.espncdn.com/photo/2012/0120/nfl_a_manningep_300.jpg (http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7483199/eli-manning-rise?eleven=twelve#)<div style="width: 300px;"><cite>AP Photo/Michael Conroy</cite>Eli is having an NFL career that is second to no Manning. </div></div></div>
What's weird is, Eli doesn't even get the most press among New York QBs.
The guy across town -- the Jets' Mark Sanchez -- still gets most of the
back page headlines. Now there's wild talk that if Peyton can get his
tortured neck healthy, he could wind up replacing Sanchez next season.
Lord, that's all Eli needs.

Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!</p>

Anyway, as a little brother myself, the one that always had to get up and change the channel (pre-remote America), I say: Make him get up and chase you, kid.</p>

So
here's to Eli the Other, Eli the Overlooked, Eli The One Peyton Would
Forget To Drop Off At Middle School Until He Was Locking Up His Car In
The High School Parking Lot And Saw Him Sitting Sheepishly In The Back
Seat.</p>

"He wouldn't speak up!" Peyton protests.</p>

He just did.</p>

This year was so incredible for Eli. It's somewhat unfortunate that it was overshadowed by the other QBs who miraculously happened to throw record breaking yardage.

Wilfork was in the backfield all game against the Ravens. </P>

And it's clear Baas has problems against strong nose tackles. </P>

"I still can't watch highlights from that game," Brady said Monday on
Boston Sports radio station WEEI of the Week 9 game. "I think that's
just the way it is. You get to the end and we had a great opportunity
there and really squandered it because we didn't play our very best."

"The
Giants have a very good defense," Brady said Monday. "They have guys
that can cover, one of the best pass rushes that you'll face in the
league. Very physical in the linebackers. They tackle well. It's a very
good defense. We didn't score a lot of points against them last time.
The turnovers hurt us last game. I think we had four turnovers last
game. You're not going to beat the Giants turning the ball over four
times."

"It was a great game and sets up for a great rematch between two
teams, really, who have earned the right to represent their conferences
in the Super Bowl. It's a great feeling for all of us players.

Brady also said there is a galvanizing force at work with this Patriots
team, which has dedicated the season to Myra Kraft, the late wife of
owner Robert Kraft who died in July. </p>

"She's with us every step of the way," Brady said. "We wear those (MHK)
patches on our jersey and the painting that was commissioned by our team
as a present for Mr. Kraft, sits in the locker room on game day. I'm
sure it will be there on Super Bowl Sunday, too. It's a reminder for us
what a special season this is for the owner of our team and his family,
and all the people who loved Mrs. Kraft so much. There is plenty of
spirituality in our locker room. It's really a great reflection for all
of us to have that patch on our jersey. Hopefully we go out and
represent her well."</p>

They are really playing hard for Mr. Kraft and his late wife.

44 REALLY stepped up yesterday!!!

****in beast
</p>

I LOVED IT!!!
that play was so uncharacteristc for our offense, and it worked like a charm. I wonder if that play actually called for AB to line up that way, and run that exact route. It looked so out of place, but once I saw him haul it in. I knew it was over!</p>

if he didnt' step out of bounds he would of been GHOST

definitely. it was awkward positioning though. So i felt like he didn't have a shot to stay in bounds. s'all good though. can't be mad with the overall results!</P>

How great was weatherford " WERE GOING TO THE FUUUUCKING SUPER BOWL!!!!!!" lmao

horrible snap, great hold. That was Great. You could see him mouthing it perfectly.

Weatherford was interviewed last week saying" If we don't make it to the sb, I'd rather not even go to the playoff's." This after two consecutive failed trips to the afc conference champ with the Jets.

During crunch time of Sunday’s AFC title game, Baltimore’s best
receiver was being covered in the slot by a second-string
receiver/emergency defensive back. And Anquan Boldin (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2078/anquan-boldin) was repeatedly having his way with Julian Edelman (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5440/julian-edelman).</p>

So what’s going to happen when the Patriots’ defensive backs have to handle Hakeem Nicks (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5136/hakeem-nicks), Victor Cruz (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6313/victor-cruz), and Mario Manningham (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4654/mario-manningham)?</p>

Bad things, man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU8gvF6WCIk).</p>

The Giants have much better receivers than they had four years ago,
and the Patriots don’t have the same caliber of defensive backs that
they enjoyed the last time these two teams met in a Super Bowl.</p>

It didn’t help that starting cornerback Kyle Arrington (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5157/kyle-arrington)
left Sunday’s game with an eye injury, but the Pats’ defensive
backfield has had a rag-tag feel to it all season, and if they nearly
lost at home on Sunday to a team with a far less potent offense, the
Patriots will need the coaching performance of Bill Belichick’s life in
order to win this game.</p>

Apparently, the folks who make the odds believe Belichick will pull
it off, given that the Pats are three-point favorites. For amusement
purposes only, don’t be shocked (but be very amused) when that number
starts moving toward the Giants.</p>

Also our team is better than we were in 07, and their team is significantly worse then they were in 07. With the way our Defense has been playing these past few weeks, I can see us tearing it up come Feb 5th

there was one play, i think eli either got sacked or threw it away, but they showed cruzs route and he ran like a 5 yard slant, beat his man, then went back outside over the top. he almost ran a circle around the cb. cb got OWNED. it was perrtay.

My brother brought home a 10 month old blue-nose pitbull last night that a friend of his rescued(she's a vet), and he wants to keep it as long as it gets along with Tizzie, our other pit. He named him Ace, because he was born with 1 eye, lol...poor *******.
I think Tizz is a bit jealous, so she plays coy at first, like she wants nothing to do with him when he wants to play, but then she kinda eggs it on at the same time. She almost ripped his ****ing head off when he went for a bone she was chewing on. I'm sitting on the couch, they are both chewing it....and then they got perfectly still for like 3-4 seconds...and that silence and lack of movement can only mean 1 thing: IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!
Sure as ****, these 2 playful pups become murderous death machines and try to kill each other, and im lunging at collars. They were fine, and stopped immediately, and then of course Tizz wants to play. Maybe it was all a bit too much on the first night. lol

He's very docile generally speaking, but he's still puppy mentality and wants to play. Very cute dog.

It's almost impossible to manage the anxiety leading up to the SB when your team's in it.

I tell myself that I am going to limit my exposure a little and I can just not do it.

The media goes into overdrive, nfl network is off the hook, last night they showed sb 42 again. The Giant's app keeps videos, articles and stats flowing, the boards are in a frenzy. Ah **** it, it's not every year we go to the big one...but the Gmen are kind of making a habit of going to the Superbowl.

We'll be at the Giants Van with LT Murals on it. Testing out the new tv that is inside a football to watch the parade. Propane heaters, Grilling, chairs, cabanas, and NYG flags flying high.

This is our time to celebrate--Everyone's invited.

I dont know if any of you guys listen to Joe & Evan on WFAN, but they have a weekly spot with Antrel Rolle and this week, out of nowhere he brought up the play where he got burned on the davis TD and totally manned up and admitted full responsibility... This guy is turning the corner like TC did in our last SB run
Yes, I heard Rolle regarding the blown coverage on Vernon Davis. I agree he manned up and I think he played awesome the rest of the game. He said he was so focused on the QB that when Vernon flew past his left side, he kind of lost him, Rolle said he knew Vernon was there, but kind of lost him in his blind spot. At that point with Vernon's speed....it was too late. Not incl. the two plays to Davis. The scondary played lights out on coverage. We made alex smith look like a **** QB--much worse than he is.

What really makes me ill :

The Jet's , Rex Ryan and the idiot on the wfan before Francesca comes in at 1pm truly believe that the Jets and Ryan deserve credit for motivating the Giants and starting the catalyst that got us to the super bowl. They actually say these things....i find it unbelievable.

“I really hope the Giants – I just hope they just put a thrashing on the Patriots (http://sportsradiointerviews.com/2012/01/24/bernard-pollard-baltimore-ravens-patriots-super-bowl-xlvi/),”
Pollard said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “I really do. To lose to a
team like that the way we played. We played a good game.”</p>

Pollard said he sees plenty of reasons to believe that the Giants’ defense will match up well with the Patriots’ passing game.</p>

“You gotta look at the experience of the team,” Pollard said. “You
gotta look at, What do the Giants have? They got a front four that is
relentless. They got a secondary that is really, really good. They got a
linebacking core that has been with them. The dinking and the dunking,
man? It’s just not going to happen.”</p>

Pollard also noted that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5729/rob-gronkowski) suffered an ankle injury when Pollard tackled him on Sunday, and he said to Patriots fans, “If you don’t like it? So what.”</p>

All sprains damage the ligament to varying

Help us get the New York Giants Lucky Christmas tree to Indy...http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/big_blue_tree_branching_out_2vlK7cOcXU0PxQDgFNF89L We need a miracle to get the lucky New York Giants Christmas tree to the big game. We have had it at every game since Jets/Giants on Dec. 24th. We ran out of money in Green Bay after flying the tree out there in a duffle bag and driving two hours from Milwaukee but then our last night there we won $1000.00 in WI lottery. Sounds crazy but we have all the proof. A picture of the winning ticket and the tax form for the $1000.00. That money got us to San Fran. We need someone to help us get that tree to Indy. It is being followed on WPLJ we need it there for the last win.

(sorry, i went to lunch)</P>Sounds like an awesome trip to Vegas and So. Fla also Dezz. I really can't recall how I passed the time in 2007 either. Going to the SB now is awesome. The NYG app for the phone has endless info, news, videos, etc. John smelke does a great job with the adorama news flash and they have ALOT planned for the next week and a half. I combine that with Roanoke's news, the daily paper and the cable NFL network channel and I'm good to go.

Now is also the time to gather all your favorite photos, memmorabilia, etc that you can because there is guaranteed to be many players appearances after the superbowl and into the spring.

It came highly recommended by my bookie friend who regulars vegas, and when we started looking around, I noticed that theplace HAS A BEACH! lol...i know, im easily amused.

While there, we will be renting some luxury automobiles and driving to the grand canyon one day...
And...
one day, we'll be going to Las Vegas Speedway to race exotic cars. I already looked it up, and I will be spending $350 to drive a Ferrari 458 Italia....which IS my jumpoff....</P>

Theres a place out in Vegas where you can rent ridiculous guns at this outdoor range they got. My buddy went there a few weeks ago and shot a tommy gun and a desert eagle but they had a TON of choices to choose from
</P>

yupppp. some of my friends are going there. I'm not really into that stuff, but there's 8 of us going, one of my friends is a NY state trooper, 1 works Nuclear security, and 3 others are just gun enthusiasts lol.
on that day I will be renting a convertible benz trying to pick up disease free 22 year old *****es, i guess =P</P>

I added a little bit more blue to my wardrobe last night. My Nicks and Tuck jerseys came in.
I'm still kinda heated that they were out of JPP jerseys....especially since these places MAKE the jerseys 90% of the time lol. My buddy got one a size smaller....and i felt so left out =(

Whatever! this offseason im getting a JPP and Cruz jersey! somehow! someway!(we gotta make it up out of the hood some day)....yea...jiggaman...I just went there =P

Was up pizzsnatch! do you have the Cruz Salsa moves memmorized yet? Adam Sandler lol!</p>

haha no, not yet. hard to see the moves WHILE i'm rocking the shirt, lol

I forget who asked, but I'm going to vegas end of April, booked last night. I will be spending 4 nights at Mandalay Bay.

I already looked it up, and I will be spending $350 to drive a Ferrari 458 Italia....which IS my jumpoff....</p>Theres a place out in Vegas where you can rent ridiculous guns at this outdoor range they got. i need to go to the range, shoot my cousins m4. great times. my pops is thinking of trading in his S&amp;W 9mm for the new xdm .45 3.8. Better than the glock. and its pertay

I cant drive stick so driving a car that costs as much as a house isnt my type of thing, if I was going to Vegas id stick to the booze, casinos, rental gun range, and the government regulated 'ladies of the night' LOL

Never been to Vegas, but id imagine the 'ladies of the night' to be good looking, unless you're looking for a porker.... Hell its government regulated

I do own 1 firearm, its a nice old mausberg that I keep clean and in running condition. Simply as a means of protecting my home, gotta watchout for those dope fiends running around robbing people

I have no interest in firearms, however I have been toying with the idea of getting a pistol permit just so I can have something in the house also. I don't think I'd ever need it, but, peace of mind is better than nothing i suppose.</P>
