A month ago you all thought they were going to the NBA finals.</P>

I mean that was understandable though, we were on a what 7 game winning streak....without Amare and Anthony...there was speculation they wouldn't play good together but fans always want to see the bright side of things...assuming they could have worked together after winning 7 straight it looked like a bright future at that time....

I still think they have the talent to get there....they just need to use it correctly...getting rid of D'Antoni was a good start...not that I hate the guy but he clearly can't or won't adjust his offense towards the players he has.

A simple "yeah I know" would have sufficed.</P>

Have no idea how accurate that movie was. Both John Heileman and Mark Halperin are hard core lefties.</P>

I admit that she has been a huge dissapointment since the election. To much self serving behavior. A little like Tiki.</P>

But clearly a Rangers fan so she got that going for her.</P>

Ill say she would of done much more than Bidens done. But then again, like John Adams said "My country has in its wisdom contrived for me the most insignificant
office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination
conceived."<span></span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Adams#cite_note-63)

I just don't think he's as good as he used to be.

when we let him go obviously it was a mistake...(boss really obviously Shockey was better)

But at this point Shockey's used up at this point Bennett is probably just as good if not better then Shockey.

The blabbing is what ruins it for these guy's. Toomer was a great player/person all around. I met him back in 2007, a very sincere warm person. Hearing Toomer talk like that regarding Shockey, I have to wonder if he was just a disease in the locker room and to the team. Shockey was very self centered.

Tiki destroyed his image to those of us who knew him. 20 years from now, fans that did not witness his fallout will look at him as the most Premier running back to ever carry the ball for us.

What did Hasselbeck do?

same thing.

every time Eli's been in trouble the talk radio around here that I listens to bring up "Tim Hasselbeck" Eli's backup "A Guy who knows Eli well cause he was in the locker room with him"

that's how they intro him, then they go and ask him all the normal questions they ask when Eli was struggling (hopefully the media will be passed that now) and Hasselbeck would always support the claims..

they'd ask if he's a leader so Hasselbeck would say no, they'd ask if he was scared or skittish hasselbeck would say yes.

Tiki got the bigger brunt of the hate but I've heard hasselbeck more then tiki discredit and crap on Eli...he does it every chance he gets....probably not anymore cause it's impossible at this point...but even mid season last season he was getting in on it.

They go to him every year when Eli struggles for a game, he was his backup...so he's the "locker room" guy whenever it comes to Eli struggling...(aka having one bad game)</p>

even last year he was the guy they go to get dirt about the goings on in the giants locker room...even though at this point he's completely irrelevant in that respect.
</p>

</p>

Strahan is the only Ex-Giant that has kept his mouth shut about the inner workings and has always remained loyal to the Giants first...and his broadcasting/analyst career second...every other former giant just talks to much about **** they shouldn't be talking about....not only that there is always two sides to every story....of course Hasselbeck always thinks Eli's in trouble...he's jealous he wanted to be the QB...but he couldn't be because Eli is better then him...and subconsciously at least, that feeling effects what he says...same with Tiki.

Its not like we were paying him $7.50 per hr plus tips, he was making bank here and we wanted to test him out to see how serious the injury was, we didnt want to rush him cause at the time we wanted him long time. Hell he was supposed to be 'the next Amani'

you guys are the ones that are lacking in rational thought today.

Steve Smith had to leave, I have no hate for him...Philly made him the offer...he only has so many years of football and he has to make his money when he can, they offered him 3 mil more and the ability to actually play and maybe prove he was worth more, staying here would have been a bad decision for him period.

About Shockey...shocky didn't bad mouth anyone his last year here...he was a model player (at least on the field) no arms raised no complaining, he played hard practiced hard, also he was apparently very close with Mara also back in the day so he can't be as "d-baggy" as everyone wants him to be....

the truth is you guys have joined into the mob mentality that goes against Shockey in NY...you have no reason to hate him...you hate him because everyone else does...and everyone else does because they weren't paying attention and the NY media told them to.

Yea, cause he's the only thing the NY Media makes money on, its not like we're the biggest city in the world. Hell there's stuff that barely makes the news here that would be headline stuff in the rest of the country..... What a pompous a-hole

I cant wait til we play whatever team he lands on so I can rain used batteries down on that clown
</p>

You sure do express a lot of hate for guys who played their asses off for our beloved team Kase.</p>

There are right and wrong ways to leave a franchise, that determines how their careers with our teams are remembered, wether its The Giants, Rangers, Yanks, or Knicks
</p>

Maybe you can explain the "right way" to leave a team to play for someone else.</p>

Its actually quite simple

-Listen to offers from the team you're leaving before signing anything
-TRY not to go to a division rival (sometimes its understandable)
-Dont badmouth the fanbase, city, front office, former teammates, etc

</p>

Who did SS badmouth?</p>

And this is nice career advice, but the kid has to do whats right for himself and his family. And he got an offer from the Giants. It was around $1MM and a trip to the PUP list.</p>

I just don't get this Kase. The kid did nothing wrong except want to play somewhere. So he took 4 times the money and a promise to get on the field right away.</p>

Smith didnt badmouth anyone, I was just listing that as one of the things you DONT do when you leave a team for another

Its not like we were paying him $7.50 per hr plus tips, he was making bank here and we wanted to test him out to see how serious the injury was, we didnt want to rush him cause at the time we wanted him long time. Hell he was supposed to be 'the next Amani'

...If we didnt lose Smith, who knows if we would have had Cruz
</p>

Is it your position that he should have taken the $1MM, get put on the PUP list and be at the mercy of doctors to determine if he could play. Or should he have taken 4 times the money and go to a team that already told him they thought he was healthy enough to play immediately.</p>

I just don't understand what logic you think he was supposed to follow here Kase.</p>Well from the Giants FO side of it, they said that Smith didnt even listen to their offer, so im not sure about how true the money part is. I think its just Smith trying to save face with the Giants.

So its his fault that he broke his leg?</P>

no, it's his fault that he thought he was bigger than the team.
You really lack rationale today it seems. whats up??</P>

you guys are the ones that are lacking in rational thought today.

When Shockey left it was due, he was at ends with the team and the FO, it was understood on both sides. I never really 'hated' him til this recent beef with Amani, Toomer is one of my fav Giants of All-Time and is no doubt a Giants great, probably the best WR in team history

I've had this conversation before with some of you guys. I personally don't care much at all what a player says to the media. Most NFL players are overgrown children anyway, and say what comes to mind without considering the consequences.</P>

It never bothered me what BJ said, or Shockey. the only one who really bothered me was Tiki because he betrayed the clubhouse confidence that all player have.</P>

I care about what a player does ON THE FIELD. Go play hard and you're OK with me.</P>

thats why I loved Shockey and BJ. I like guys with attitude and toughness. </P>

lol, 2 draft picks was a "fair" price for Shockey.....it's unfortunate that both those picked were terrible...lol, but oh well. We'd be singing a different tune if somehow Clint Sintim was a STUD LB for some reason.

And listen dude, i can only go off what other players say. When players admit that they didnt like Shockey, and he was difficult to play with....that's all I need to hear.

To be quite honest, this argument is kind of stupid. We didn't need him....won TWO ****ing superbowls without him...
who really cares....the guy is a washed up piece of trash. it doesnt matter anymore.

TL;DR version:

Didn't care; won Superbowls</P>

the truth is you guys have joined into the mob mentality that goes against Shockey in NY...you have no reason to hate him...you hate him because everyone else does...and everyone else does because they weren't paying attention and the NY media told them to.
When Shockey left it was due, he was at ends with the team and the FO, it was understood on both sides. I never really 'hated' him til this recent beef with Amani, Toomer is one of my fav Giants of All-Time and is no doubt a Giants great, probably the best WR in team history

His recent comments make him REALLY sound like a D-Bag
</p>

Toomer insults Shockey and you don't expect him to respond?</p>

And BTW, Toomer badmouthed the organization and coaching staff when they released him. Why don't you add Toomer to the great Giants you now hate.</p>

Where did you hear this?!?!?!

Amani Toomer is a SAINT!!!!
</p>

Just off the top of my head.</p>

He said that he wouldn't resign with the Giants even if they wanted him. He said they were intentionally not throwing him the ball to "phase him out" of the team.</p>

He also said that the Giants were "long on talent but short on heart".</p>

I'm sure there were other bitter gems.</p>Yea but then he apologized.

He also plays without disipline. he's a strong edge pass rusher but he fails to honor hisrushing lanes, which allow mobile QB's to get outside him. he also bites on misdirection in the rushing game. RB's cut back on him all the time for big gains.</P>

you are being hypocritical.

you can only go off what other players say huh?

well tiki is a player..so you think he was right when question the giants? what about when hasselbeck questions Eli's ability...guess he HAS to be right huh? cause he's a player?

the whole statement "I can only go off what other players say" is ****ing ******ed and I refuse to accept it....so now you have no opinion what so ever? you can't come up with a thought yourself you need some player to tell you what your opinion is?

every locker room has players that hate each other...ever single one, did some people hate shockey in our locker room? sure some did but it wasn't everyone...

Eli said he didn't think losing shockey made the team better...but I guess Eli's not a player right Pizz? cause I mean if you go off what players say and Eli is a player and he said it didn't make the team better how could you be saying it did right?

And beyond that...you know what? if playing with another guy that has an attitude effects your play on sunday...that's YOUR bad not the player who has the attitude...because in life everyone has to learn to deal with people they don't like...if you can't do that you need to grow the **** up.

the bias is so thick I could cut it with, well I'd probably need a chainsaw a knife wouldn't be enough.

I guarantee Pizz you and 90% of the people that hate on shockey for stuff like this...had Eli been injured on a play where Shockey gave up on a block or something...and Eli said he wasn't going to talk to Shockey because of it you would ALL be all over Eli's nuts talking about how he's right how Shockey is an ***...

but because it's Shockey that got injured and made a comment you get on him...

the depths of your hypocrisy are unknown...but they are quite deep I can tell you that.

put it this way...I get it pizz you have a personal vendetta against Shockey for reasons unknown to me...he must have went to your gym and forgot to rack his weights or something I don't know.

but you have no valid reason to hate him the way you do.

Moving on to the Osi front...Morehead explained valid concerns about osi...not enough effort not playing disciplined...

you of course passed it off as Morehead wanting Osi to be something he's not...no Pizz...Moreheads points were not something to be nonchalantly thrown away because you don't want to listen....they are valid concerns backed up by evidence....and all the "sacks" in the world won't help us win a game when he is giving up an equal amount of first downs on QB runs because he refused to do his job and stay in his lane.

That said I do think Osi's pass rush potential is worth keeping around..even if he sucks in other areas...because we can always just use him on third down...and perhaps game plan around him leaving his lane open anyhow.

Look...you guys are looking at this the wrong way. I don't "hate" Osi. I'm fine with him on the team. Kase is talking about Steve Smith and Shockey like they are horrific human beings and how they "don't ever want them on the team". Thats all crazy talk. These guys are just football players.</P>

I don't get personally insulted when a player leaves our team and goes somewhere else. the reality is that none of us knows exactly what happens behind the scenes. We have no idea who gets along with who. Or what a GM or coach may have done or said to effect a players decision.</P>

I simply assume that the rules of the NFL are the same in the rest of life. "We all act in self interest".</P>

When they wear Giants blue, I'll root hard for them. If they play hard I'll root even harder.</P>

No one is insulting the fans when they act in support of themselves and their families. I expect their loyalties to that to be far stronger than a team or a fan base.</P>

So you'd rather them keep all the money to themselves? it's up to them who they want to be charitable towards not you or me, let's be happy they are deciding to give back at all instead of complaining who they are giving back to

Who the hell are you guys to tell rich people how to spend THEIR money.

this is a huge problem with society today...nobody can mind their own business, Pitt, Jolie these Hollywood multimillionaires...they donate to charity...that's a noble thing to do and it doesn't matter who they are donating to as long as they are helping those that are less fortunate we should praise them for their actions...not rip on them because they are not donating to the people we would prefer them to....there is nothing forcing them to donate money at all....they could by all rights just keep it to themselves and not help anyone else...and if they did that we would still have no reason to complain.

Celebs DO help out here, they pay taxes (and believe it or not the more money you make the more taxes you pay don't believe the bull**** that says otherwise) they purchase luxury items often made here in the US...like Planes for example...creating jobs for the average to poor Americans.

simply by living their lives in America the help poorer people out.

that said would I rather they also send their charitable donations to American charities...well yeah I would like that, but it's not my money so it's none of me business...I'm just glad they donate at all...

this is a huge problem with society today...nobody can mind their own business, Pitt, Jolie these Hollywood multimillionaires...they donate to charity...that's a noble thing to do and it doesn't matter who they are donating to as long as they are helping those that are less fortunate we should praise them for their actions...not rip on them because they are not donating to the people we would prefer them to....there is nothing forcing them to donate money at all....they could by all rights just keep it to themselves and not help anyone else...and if they did that we would still have no reason to complain.
I agree, that's why I was careful to add that I think it's nice when they do choose to donate.....BUT--and I know that I am no one to tell a very wealthy person this. When you have that much money it just keeps building. Yes, I realize most everyone lives up to and possibly beyond their means, but I'm talking bokooo tens of millions of dollars rich here. And keep in mind these actors continue to work and add to their millions. They should be thanking the charities they donate to for the tax write off.

Half his post is about how celebs should help out here first. What did Clooney accomplish by getting arrested? Awareness? Most Americans already know Sudan, Darfar, Uganda is a **** hole but most Americans dont care or are more concerned with their own problems.
</P>

Insanely rich people should donate their money to U.S. charities, and adopt orphans here in the states. Fix our problemsisntead ignoring them.
Portions of my paycheck go to United Way for local charities.....not foreign lol</P>

The United Way? Thast one of the biggest scams there is. Most of your "donations" go to "administration" of the fund.</P>

Better to put your money directly to use instead of dumping it into a huge beaurocracy like the United Way.</P>

A very wise man once told me, "Complaining is like a rocking-chair. You can go through the movements, but it will get you no where."

Why don't you put the effort you spend arguing, into building your own financial portfolio up so you can make your OWN difference in the world.

such a crazy case!!
it's so hard to prove someone's intent like that.....i mean, i feel what happened to the kid is a crime...but i feel this case will be a benchmark of sorts for "bullying" cases, and thigns of that nature. We're going to be looking back at this one for awhile I bet.</P>

yooooou suuuuuuck!!</p>

ugh WHY does he have to go to the NFC!?!?
So does that mean they are done with Smith?.....again...??

oh, grats on your new job</p>

thanks man

I do think he ends up with Denver or Tennessee, but christ him with Vernon Davis, Mario, Moss, and Crabtree with Gore, that OLine, and defense is frightening
</p>

I know!!
and not to be a downer...but that's not a team i want to play ever again in the playoffs. Skin of our teeth = thats how we got out of that one! lol
I must say, Ham and Moss made good choices....scariest team in football, man....</p>

absolutely

I got Madden12 finally yesterday. Got a used copy on ebay for $22 shipped ;)

It's alot harder than the previous one I had.

few things I noticed:

- opponent awareness in the secondary is much better. You really need a WIDE open receiver to throw to or else your pass will get batted down. Even the linebacks will knock down passes over their heads into the secondary(this isnt a complaint, just an observation. the only downside is that its hard to look around for the open guy, and watch the pocket collapse. wow jsut like a qb!! lmao)

-almost every single other madden game, when on defense i would control a DE or a DT. But as dezz mentioned to me last week, the DE moves are kinda lame in this one. When i play a DT, its fairly easy to stop the run on the inside, and let your DEs cover the outside. But pass rushing never works at the ends!! so frustrating!! Oh, and when you DO pull off a swim move, your end rushes to the inside into a guard instead of to the outside, which would make sense when i rewatch the play lol.

-running is still the easiest part of offense. </P>

-the player cuts in preseason franchise is an awesome feature
-although i dont understand why it adds FAs automattically instead of saying "you need to have 4 safeties, etc.....and then it doesnt tell you it signs them either....oh, AND it cut Barden and Cruz without telling me. so i couldnt figure that out.</P>

I still think he's going to Denver. Not sure if the temperment of Harbaugh is a good match with Peyton. Plus I think he'd prefer the AFC. Tenn. is a wild card because its a home away from home for him. But I think it leans to Denver.</P>

Fox (who I think would be completely hands off on the offense) combined with the fact that John Elway is the team president would suggest that Denver is the best shot.</P>

Talk about dropping a bomb on us. 2 weeks and your gone? Nah, no way? I hope not. Peyton to SF scares me silly. Nfc is going to be intense this year, very interested to see what Spags does in NO. Congratulation on the new job...Shorter commute I hope.

good news is that the running backs haven't been getting paid.

we may have a shot at tolbert...

unless he signed? I haven't been following since the tourny started

anybody doing a brackets?

I am doing pretty good. 3 of my final 4 teams and sitting pretty in 2nd place out of like 80

And i locked up first place in fantasy hoops, woop woop

EDIT: I heard we were looking at BGE ... any truth to that?
</P>

we're looking at the Lawfirm?
didnt read much yet about that. Good backup for us....but I rather have Tolbert obviously.

Next week my fantasy hoops playoffs start, and only the 1st place team has clinched. THAT'S how close it is....
I basically just need to tie or win this week. My team is crippled =\</P>

and no, no bracket....i dont even watch.
I dont understand why ppl only follow the tourney when they A) dont follow college hoops, and B) dont even watch sports.
lol</P>

because its good basketball for the most part

plus having 4 stations of games for two full days is awesome lol
</P>

The NCAA tournament sucks. Completely SUCKS!!!</P>

Good basketball Matt? Its like watching high school basketball. All the talent leaves college basketball after thier freshman year. College hoops is all about the coaches and not the players.</P>

And i can't watch Stuey when TBS has college basketball.</P>

yea it depends on the coverage with who I control... I am either a DE, MLB, or saftey.

if u do franchise, you can sign all of those guys to bring em into camp. I actually gor bored of playing online yesterday and made a franchise so that I could get Bennett on the Giants lol....

then i traded around playerthat signed around the league and put peyton on the 9ers...

i can't play on allmadden, i just get skunked. Im starting to dominate all pro though so i'll make the transition soon
