The "moral outrage" some posters have over the Deihl thing is a disgrace. yeah no doubt this place is infested with idiots</p>

MH I like how you used the term "moral outrage", because people get so bent over lapses in judgement, and they start with their holier-than-thou speeches.It's not a situation where a guy is fighting what happened....it was a stupid decision, and he owned up to it. MOVE ALONG!</p>

</p>

All of the sudden DD is a "disgrace to the organization"...Get real people. It was a terrible decision and thats not in dispute.</p>

But the hyperbole being used against DD is <u>rediculous</u>. I hate to say it but we've all done it. We've all (because when you're drunk, by definition you have less judgement) had too many drinks and then drove home.</p>

Sorry...I guess we're all disgraces to the Giants fan base.</p>ridiculous*

People also don't realize how few drinks it takes to get passed the legal limit.

when eating dinner if I drink 2 or 3 beers with a 3 course meal and then leave afterwards I could theoretically get a DWI.

it's got to be tough, unlike Diehl I'm not getting offered drinks every time I walk into a bar either and I know I still drive home over the limit once or twice every week...

now I feel bad offering him the drink when he walked into the bar to pick up food by me....at least he turned that one down lol.

Just for the record Daven....having a few too many and then lying down in your racing car bed does NOT equate to drunk driving.</P>

It was right after the 09 draft when Daven made the classic comment.."we have the worst WR's in the NFL"</P>

Those were the good old days. So this thread had started but no one had ever heard of it. He and Matt were "hysterical" about the fact that we didn't sell our soul for Braylon Edwards.</P>

Another argument where Morehead was on the right side of history.</P>

.youre right. thats the main reason i downloaded it lol
There's this geeky tv show from about 10 years ago made by Joss Whedon called "Firefly", and it had a HUGE cult following, but FOX ****ed it up by playing things out of order, so it stopped making sense. Subsequently ended up getting cancelled because it clearly affected who watched it.So Whedon made a movie out of it "Serenity", and ended up making a KILLING off the movie, the dvd sales, and the show box set.

Kickass show/movie</P>

hahaha.
Kase, while I do respect your opinions, I'm going to have to disagree with you here.
There are very few professional athletes in the big 4 sports who can do what soccer players can endurance wise. So for that, i give them alot of props.
Even in my best shape as a kid, my younger brother would run circles around me due to soccer player fitness lol</p>You know who can probably run circles around most people??

Male gymnists..... Not REAL men, but we all know they like Real Men

MH I like how you used the term "moral outrage", because people get so bent over lapses in judgement, and they start with their holier-than-thou speeches.It's not a situation where a guy is fighting what happened....it was a stupid decision, and he owned up to it. MOVE ALONG!</p>

</p>

All of the sudden DD is a "disgrace to the organization"...Get real people. It was a terrible decision and thats not in dispute.</p>

But the hyperbole being used against DD is rediculous. I hate to say it but we've all done it. We've all (because when you're drunk, by definition you have less judgement) had too many drinks and then drove home.</p>

Sorry...I guess we're all disgraces to the Giants fan base.</p>It IS a joke how so few people with such wealth cant get a cab, limo, or hire one of your boys from the old hood to be your driver/armed body guard/ etc

Just for the record Daven....having a few too many and then lying down in your racing car bed does NOT equate to drunk driving.</P>

I crack myself up!* (Yet again)</P>

</P>

ok, that was pretty amusing</P>

</P>

Can't remember if you were around for the "racing car references" for Daven several years ago.* It actually might have been before this thread started.</P>

</P>

I dont recall the original reference, but I have seen it mentioned many times lol</P>

waaaaay before your time. [:)]
</P>

It was right after the 09 draft when Daven made the classic comment.."we have the worst WR's in the NFL"</P>

Those were the good old days. So this thread had started but no one had ever heard of it.* He and Matt were "hysterical" about the fact that we didn't sell our soul for Braylon Edwards.</P>

Another argument where Morehead was on the right side of history.</P>

Wow, seemed longer ago.
</P>

Thats when "Scrappy Doo" became Daven's nickname.* Everyone thought that he and I were going to duke it out or something at our first tailgate party.</P>

What they don't understand is that Morehead is a man of manlove.</P>

</P>

I'm aroused.</P>

</P>

Gross!</P>LOL

Saturday I'm watching video of Diehl at the white house....Sunday he's driving his bmw into 4 parked cars. Arghhh. Personally I give him a pass, that god no one was injured.

I started watching the giants cd last week, "Super Bowl xvli Champions. I'm up to the playoff's part of the season. I'm enjoying it.

</P>

I dont expect Rogers to be an immediate impact really....</P>

hasn't he always played 3-4? i admittedly dont know TOO much about him except that he's massive and that he had issues in cleveland</P>

Weight issues, or discipline issues?
Discipline, I'm not worried. Tom will crack the wip

he had a contract dispute....but...everyone does, so who cares.</P>

</P>

i lol'd</P>

whatever though, right matt? That was a good Green Bay game we went to!! lol</P>Omg--Beckum set the tone for that game, we had just entered thru the gates and Beckum made that catch, cut and run for the first td of the game. I couldn't get to our seats quick enuff!

I still believe that game, even with the loss, was instrumental in our run thru playoff's and sb.

I doubt it. The have to pay his salary this year and he's not expected to play. They also have his right in 2013 at $660,000 or so. (This season is between $500 and $600M)</P>

I dont know why it would make someone a hater to know that he's not used in our offense. It's fairly obvious.</p>

Well the Pats just snagged Ballard. You never know. Granted he may not be that great at blocking, but hes a VERSATILE receiver. The better question to ask is, WHO ELSE?
</p>

</p>

and ur basing this on that one TD catch?</p>

</p>

whats versatile about him? they try to get a LBer on him because of speed. Safteys and corners can make up in the size advantage because <u>hes cream filled</u></p>

Nope, a few big first downs in 2010 and the big td. He can play the slot, our outside. He burned a db on the td vs GB. Hes a decent back up people, let it go and accept it.
</p>

</p>

<u>"slot" and "outside" is meaningless in all reality</u></p>

</p>

<u>the only time he is effective is if we can motion to have a linebacker on him in man and then MAYBE he could be effective.</u></p>

He is pretty brutal otherwise </p>Why??? Iv seen him line up at both......
Thats simply not true because he scored a 70 something yard td with a db on him.

Lets make this easier. Who would you rather back up Bennett and Pachcoe?

Robinson? He hasnt even practiced one snap with the team yet

its almost sad how hard you are trying matt. They didnt get "tangled up". The db put his hand on Beckum and he slapped it away, throwing him a bit off balance. lol The db still got burnt by a TE.

I KNOW there's no reason for him to use ballard for playbook information, because it's not necessary. You don't think after 3 embarassing losses to the Giants in a row, that the Pats arent a little bitter?

I may be in the minority but i think the Tebow deal was a great move by the Jets. You add 10 to 15 plays a game for Tebow and you instantly make that offense more dynamic. And it needs that desperately.</P>

Plus NY is not the kind of market that would clammer for Tebow to start. NY types (like Pizzy) tend to dislike guys like Tebow.</P>

exactly....
nah Morehead....i mean i see your point, but that team should not have to work gimmicks to be good with the names they have on that team. Let's first agree that mark sanchez is just bad which is why they arent looking great. Let's next agree that it's poor coaching that is leaving the offense stagnant because they cant handle the egos.</P>

Are you kidding? the majority of Jets Fans where clamoring for every one of Sanchez's back ups to take over for him every year he's played so far (Including Kellen Clemens) during the regular season, of course NY is the type of market where people clamor for the back up .... no matter who he is...we pretty much invented overacting to a bad game here....it's what we do.

I don't like Tebow because he's not good, combined with his fundamentalist crap.
Most backup QBs around the league are better than Tebow, easily...

You are lying to yourself. You claimed you hated Tebow when he was at UF. And he was certainly good there as a college football player.</P>

Tebow will help the Jets because he offers a change of pace and difficulty gameplanning for opposing defenses.</P>

You are right about one thing......Sanchez is a bad QB.</P>

well, we only lost by 3.....the point of that kind of post, is how we gottotally screwed by awful calls, and multiple botched TD callbacks. We got one called back on us, that was clear as day. And GB was given one that wasnt a score. And those were only 2 of the 3 the blownTD plays! Not even talking about all the bad calls yet

I'm an advocate for legalization. It'd be a revenue generator obviously...drop in bull**** crimes....and most importantly....stoners would no longer have anyhting to talk about, which is a HUGE plus in America.</P>

I think I've proven my point about the "Eli Cultists". Even when I have a little fun at their expense, I am called every name in the book. The list is too long to show here.</p>

In other words, if you express your view that our SB win was a team win, and not the win of a one man team, you are lamb basted by the kooks.</p>

I was actually surprised how bad it was. Sometimes human beings blow.</p>

Without sarcasm, I am truly depressed by it.</p>

You were just flat out owned in your own thread. Thats the real reason youre depressed. I even agree with you to an extent about the team winning the sb. Like the Williams fumbled, Blackburns 2 ff and fumble recovery, his 2 ints. There are multiple examples. But Eli was the "key", like you said, he made it all work, especially during the regular season.

It pisses me off were arguing over just how good Eli is, and not how bad The Giants defense was and ways the Giants should fix it.
</p>

Then you have no understanding about what the point was. My problem is not Eli. Eli is a top 5 QB. My problem is that in the mind of the Cultist, if you say anything that they can twist into a threat to Eli's pure greatness, they jump down your throat.</p>

For instance, I mentioned that I thought JPP was one of the best defensive players in the NFL, and this dope buffyblue responds byt telling me to stay on the Eli hate wagon. In his mind, my complimenting JPP, somehow suggests that I think Eli is not the best player on the team. If I say that the defense played well in the playoffs, in thier minds I am saying that Eli isn't the sole reason we won the SB.</p>

I even said that I thought Ben and Eli were at the same level, and then talked about why I thought Ben was a great player. That somehow in their minds is Eli hate even though I just said that Eli was on the same level as a great player in my view.</p>

I mean its nuts the way these people think.</p>

I found it interesting how some were saying it's technology and not the individual that behaves in this (cultist) manner. I've never seen any other player propped up like this. It's truly amazing to see the sensitivity surrounding this guy. Nothing will satisfy them unless you believe he's the second coming.

It's definitely kinda nuts....
I think it's because of the kind of person Eli is. He's easy to defend!! lol

I stayed out of that thread because it was rather chaotic.....but we all know how Morehead tends to, and likes to push buttons. He looks for reactions usually, and SOMEtimes you can even put HIM on snap-watch, until he flips....

Eli is a likable guy (just like Morehead [;)]) which makes him easy to root for, but of course his demeanor and look also have people on his case since he doesn't exactly have that Ford-tough look.

I enjoy watching Morehead wing these guys up. It's very funny.

I think he is being silly over the use of words. If it were "Eli led the team to the sb" instead of "Eli carried the team to the sb" he would agree. Either hes doesnt understand its the same frickin thing, or hes just trying to mind **** everyone.

Hey, the way I see it if gets people talking it's all good.

I think it's fair to say that our passing attack carried this team for the most part last year. And if people want to say it was our quarterback, I'm cool with that because they always get too much credit as well as blame. He had a couple rough games at the end but obviously he had a great year.

Some people see last season as vindication for years past, but I don't. This was his first really good season IMO. I don't really care if people think he's better than this guy or that guy. He's a winner and that's all that matters. We're fortunate to have him as our QB.

Exactly. They take everything about Eli way too personally. It seems a bit unhealthy. It's like they have this connection and deep-seeded inferiority complex - one which I don't recall ever seeing before over an athlete. I mean we are not talking about a player like Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordon here.

I thought you made a great point about LT. We knew what we had in LT. We knew he made everyone around him better. But that didn't diminish the effort of his teammates or our appreciation for them.

These Giants, under Tom Coughlin, preach a team approach. But for whatever reason some of Eli's fans have stronger feelings for him over our team.

It's very hard to disagree with that. I'm thinking a lot of people are going to be upset by our cuts this year.

Eli has fans that have thrown everyone and their mother under the bus since day one. That's what got me started on them.

Honestly Morehead, I didn't read your newest thread that got locked but you've always (since he was drafted) had a little Eli hate in you, I think you are the type that "accepts" that he's good now...after he's won 2 SB's and put up good numbers for a few years running, so some of the others are annoyed that it took you so long to come around....but that's your prerogative.

I agree....I also always thought that's what MH felt....
But in this EXACT situation, he's right that people tend to go off the deep end with this whole "ALL ELI" act....I don't get it. It's kind of disprectful to the team.</P>

</p>

I agree....I also always thought that's what MH felt....
But in this EXACT situation, he's right that people tend to go off the deep end with this whole "ALL ELI" act....I don't get it. It's kind of disprectful to the team.</p>

it's TAGF people always go off the deep end (I assume, that's how it used to be at least lol) obviously Football is a team sport and without the team to back you it's impossible to win, look at the LeBron, even as great as he is he needed to move to Miami to win one (they've pretty much won at this point)

If you asked me who was the best player or the most important player to the giants the answer is without a doubt Eli....but without a supporting cast no one can win the SB....no one.

The rear tires on my truck had maybe 10k left on them, no where near an infraction, but I would have ususally replaced them already. I am coming home on 684 last Friday and my tire low pressure siren starts going off on my dash board. I was in the left lane cruising at about 75. I immed.laid off the gas and slowly began making my way toward right lane. Next exit was 1 mile, I deccided to go for it very slowly. I could not feel any shake or hear anything that would indicate a complete blowout. When I finally stopped the tire was downn to the rim. Close call...if I did not have the warning indicator, that could of been a bad one. Not so dangerous as a front tire,, but still.

I'm afraid you are "misremembering" Daven. I used to go toe to toe with guys like Izbo and Plaxico25. They were cronic Eli haters. The only time I was down on Eli was the 2010 season.</P>

I was always a big Eli fan. Now I understood what he was good at and also not-so-good at, but thats part of the deal with Eli. I had no illusions.</P>

I did hate the picks in 2010 and what I thought was carelessness with the ball. But thats it.</P>

But this whole Eli thing with other posters started when I started a post where I listed all Eli's strenghths and weeknesses. This was before the 2010 season. There were like 8 positives and maybe 2 negatives. I could not believe the name calling I read in that thread. I figured most posters would say things like.."thats a fair assessment of Eli" or even..."well agree here but disagree here", instead I endure my first experience of the wrath of the Cultists. then all hell broke loose. And I have been on a mission since.</P>

Did I carry it too far? Maybe, maybe not. I tend to dwell on what I think is complete nonsense. But thats Morehead.</P>

Regardless... I reject the notion that I've ever been anti-Eli. As I said, I was down on him for his poor 2010 and with the exception for a game here or there (like the Buffalo game 2007) I've been a big Eli supporter. </P>

You've always been a "Giants" supporter...you'll support anyone on the team (and that's a good thing) but there are a few (very few) of us that have "truly" always had faith in Eli the player, now some people are jumping on the bandwagon and some people take to far (in fact it's probably most right now) but as far as the "support" you had for Eli...I don't know, I just remember having to defend him against you many many times, I don't know if you consider me a cultist (you've said it to me before but I don't think you really believe it) I think you know I understand it takes the whole team....but I mean if i remember having to defend Eli against you many times over the years and now you are calling yourself a big "eli" supporter it doesn't sit right....you've supported him simply because he was the NYG QB, not because he was Eli Manning....which is fine....but it's not being an Eli supporter.

Back in Jan when I had the front tires replaced, I had been complaining to my mechanic about a sound from the front right tire and a pull in the front end. He checked it in Dec and was like, nah, its fine. Then in Jan, he's like, you got a bubble in that tire and steel rods are showing thru the inside wall....you could of had a blowouot!!!!

Yeah, thanks for checking it out that thoroughly back in December when I first mentioned it PAL.

I've seen blowouts on the highway, that's a scary sight.

Matt, no comment on my "Facebook Friend Remover Recommendation tool" that I posted the other day?! lolI yahoo, but I don't facebook. Is is accurate that getting "unfriended" would be one of the worst insults on the web?</P>

not really...you dont really know when you get unfriended.
Worst insults on the internet would be........the worst insults you can think of, just me telling you over the internet =P</P>

lol. The humidity is as thick as a louisiana bayou today. I feel like I'm on the set of true blood out there today.</P>

Yes, the heat is exhausting this week, and the humidity is torture!! You can cut the air with a knife!!</P>

No Daven. A "Cultist" is not someone who loves Eli unconditionally. Thats just an Eli fan. It like me an Phil Simms. A Cultist is someone who considers anyone who doesn't worship at the altar of Eli, an "Eli hater".</p>

So if I think he's a very good QB, even a great QB, but point out any flaws or suggest that there are other QB's who are better, then I am damned to rot in "Eli hater hell".</p>

Ahh, but that's just TAGF over reacting you know that, the same people calling you a hater now will be calling for his head next season after his next 4 interception game.

I've called you a hater before but always in jest, you are a "giants" supporter and your have your views on Eli which are reasonable...as always they are your opinions and as usual you can back them up...I think you have always looked at him through some pessimistic sun-glasses...but I don't blame you, it's been a wild ride with him and everyone has been REALLY high and REALLY low on him at times...you like to keep an even keel, so you've tried to keep some people in check so it comes off looking like you don't support him, but I know you do MH...so at least there's that :)
</p>

Its funny too. I've been on this board for 5 years and was never considered anti-Eli at all until last year. </p>

But really it was never a huge problem I had with Eli. He is who he is. Warts and all. Now he's stepped up his game big time this past season. It was those damned Cultists that drive me nuts. If you make ANY critisicm of Eli they come crawling out of the woodwork. Now they mention me (directly or indirectly) any time they mention Eli's name. Getting a tad ugly actually and it pisses me right off.</p>

</p>

</p>

Eli &gt; Moorehead</p>

</p>

<u>Maybe so, but you know you love Moorehead more than Eli.</u></p>

And thats all that really matters....isn't it?</p>Eli has given me two Lombardis. Mh gives me daily headaches.

Molly had a growth removed from top of her right shoulder yesterday. When I picked her up the incision was close to 6" long. She's got the cone around her neck to prevent her from biting.

The growth itself was not 6" but it radiated and the doc wanted to get it all out and all the edges. It has been sent to pathology for testing. Molly's only 5 yrs old, fingers crossed.

We had a long night last night, Molly needed help navigating around with the cone and getting up on our bed. She was whimpering in the middle of the night 3 or 4 times and needed LT to let her know it was ok. I kicked the wife out last night, because I needed the room to care for my girl. It's a super king bed, but I thought it was a good excuse. I get truer and deeper love from the dog anyway. lol.

Our 8 yr old was very upset when I first got the dog home. The sight of the stitches was alot for him to handle. Everyone's good now. I started molly on her pain meds at 7:30 this am and she is resting comfortably by my side now.

Pathology results in 5-10 days

My Molly dislocated her shoulder again about a month ago, but it was not as bad as the previous time. She still limps alot, but she doesnt appear to be in as much pain as she was over the winter, not whimpering I guess.
I'm going to visit next Thursday for a week! Better than seeing my dog on ****ing Skype, ugh....
Just sucks that I have to spend a week with my father and step mom. the.worst....

bull mastiffs have a tendency to develop bone issues. In Molly's case it's a degenerative bone disease they thing. Lyme didnt cause it, that i know.
However, we are just grateful that it wasnt bone cancer.....cuz, if you wanna see something horrifying, so do an image search of what bone cancer does to bones.</P>

I really wish that a respected sports writer or anchor would go on record and just lambaste the NBA for what it is....awful. Bill Simmons did it once, but it was on his old ESPNblog during the all-star break in PHX a year or two ago, and it didnt catch many eyes.
But no....now we're going to get these NBA guys talking about Lebron for the next 2 months, talking about how the NBA is going to be so much better now that he won his....and that kinda makes me laugh....why cant they just SAY that it's a terribly run company?! lol...i dont get it.
