Yea man, I'd apply for everything coming out of school. Youre not gonna be raking in the dough or anything at first, but, you could do anything from underwriting consumer loans, which could get you ~50k/yr OR if you go commerical or real estate, you could make alot more since you get paid additional based on what you process in writen loans.

Of course, all banks are different. I dont have any real estate loan experience(aside from home equities), so I tend to stay away from that (much to my father's chagrin), but I know there's money to be made.

Anyway, yeah, I a worried because supposedly ill be getting a full time job at this accounting firm after I graduate. I just don't want to lose my knowledge on finance **** because I'm working at an accounting firm.

Yeah but who knows, you might like it and decide to get a CPA. Being an accountant isn't a bad gig if you don't mind the boredom.

Im thinking of taking the cop test for the city. pay is horrible but after 5 years I could be making 90k a year.....I like my job now, but I dont know, I feel my mind is to agressive to sit in an office all day, if that makes sense. Maybe agressive isnt the right word...

Meh most of the cops I know (and I know quite a few from bowling as usual) do stuff like smoke up, drunk drive, do other drugs etc etc.

the more worrying thing is that Dez says he's aggressive (or antsy) if there is one job where patience is and absolute necessity it be a cop, I can't think of a job where it's more important.

Yeah I understand, office jobs aren't for everyone

I don't mind my office job. I'm just getting a little tired of the face to face public interaction. I think I'm better suited for back office work. Stuff where I can just sit at my desk and do my work efficiently. And since I technically have almost 8 years underwriting experience, I'm hoping that works to my advantage.

I understand what you meant Dez, but an antsy personality is still bad as a cop, I know exactly what you mean Im antsy myself, **** I was classified with ADD back in high school.. I'm always scatterbrained thinking about something different always and that's not always a bad thing.

but when you are walking up to a car and someone reaches for their license and registration and you convince yourself that they are actually reaching for a gun because you're "antsy"

you're gonna have a bad time..

well after they have a worse time :-P

I think I'm pretty addicted to coffee. I have at least 2 cups of coffee a day, which isn't necessarily bad for my health. I use skim milk and the good sugar.

Plenty of times when I don't have coffee, I get huge migraines. I drink coffee and it feels better. So weird how the bain works.

I've had bad caffiene withdraw before. I consume a ton of it. XL Dunkin Donuts coffee in the AM, maybe 2....and then 1 or 2 cans of monster in the afternoon. Yea, it's bad....

One time I took a trip with my family for a wedding, and I just didnt have coffee or anything...and I got the most intense headaches for 2 days. And had the shakes pretty bad too.

Do you feel like your heart is racing at random times when you haven't consumed caffeine? I've been getting weird, sharp pains nears my heart lately. Today, I haven't gotten any though.

Thought it was because I was eating a lot of eggs recently.

That's more like a habit then an addiction, kind of like guys who "need" to hit the gym everyday it's kind of like an addiction but only because it's something you got used to doing, if taken away from you, a year or a few years down the road you wouldn't give it a second thought

Cigarettes for example you can quit for years and most people I know that have still REALLY crave it at times still, also there are the physical and mental side effects to quitting the irritability etc etc.

I smoked weed pretty regularly for 5-6 year back in the day (among other things) nothing is remotely close to cigarettes in my opinion.

no I definitely agree that this is where it originated. Things change though.....that exact type of music doesnt exist anymore, so the definition has changed. they spawned a style of music. From punk originated hardcore, like Black Flag, and Bad brains. it was still punk though....and eventually it just became more pop in the 90s. different SOUND, same style of play, and DEFINITELY cleaner sound lol

for example of things changin:

Jethro Tull won the first heavy metal award

Not really.
But REAL punk came from NYC in the mid-late seventies and then migrated to London.
There are particular characteristics that make punk......punk.
1. Its anti-social lyrics
2. Its very fast pace in playing style
3. The general angry attitude.

I know a lot of bands like to call themselves "punk" because it sounds cool to say that about themselves. And there are little Pizzlesticks running around who want to believe it. But usually those bands are full of ****.

Social Distortion (who I like a lot) ISN'T punk. They just claimed to be.

its weird when i agree with you

MattMeyerBud
02-26-2013, 01:07 PM
I get that. The "ear" is the final arbiter.
To me, all metal sounds too similar. Not enough elbow room in order to continue calling it metal. They pigeon hole themselves to appeal to 13 year old boys. (and Pizzy)

im pretty sure u can say that about every single genre of music.... sounding similiar

I've been telling her for 2 years to wise up in school because my parents are pretty much pathetic human beings.

My parents literally gave up on me and my brother. They used to be into school and then when they had all these issues with money, they gave 0 ****s. You know what? Every time I came home late from school, they'd argue with me to do something they could have easily done when they weren't doing anything at home. I told them I had schoolwork to do and I needed it done, but my mom gave me no empathy. She pretty much argued with me that her gallon of milk was more important than my homework, nonetheless my major homework.

My sister - she has no support from my parents anymore. They are paying for her catholic HS education and yet she's wasting it away by getting horrible grades and not doing anything. She took 2 free periods instead of taking classes to enlighten her, just so she can go home.

What the ****? Is that something wrong with our education? Something wrong with my mom for not pushing her? I pushed her.... and it didn't work. I basically got a huge "**** you" when I explained to her that school is important.

She's stubborn though. She basically has no sense of direction and she thinks her boyfriend (who is 17 too) will make everything OK. This is the type of mentality that I do not like.

it sucks that your parents are that way. growing up right is like 90% parenting.....its refreshing to hear that you took your schooling as your own responsibility. I wish I was able to do that. i just ****ed around in school. decent grades and everything, but I didn't really care. It wasn't until college that i realized i hadnt mentally prepared for what was next. definitely my biggest regret in life to date was that I didn't get a degree from UGA business school =(

It's all about maturity, at least give her a few years to wise up most people at that age don't have their head screwed on right yet

You don't want her to go through the things you had to go through.

The problem is that in most cases that's what they have to do, they need to learn things the hard way otherwise they don't become a complete person, being a parent is going to SUCK.

you KNOW what the kid/sibling is doing wrong, you know how to solve the problem, but telling them doesn't help because they aren't going to listen and then you have to watch them do the same stupid things you did and deal with many of the same stupid consequences you did.

I suppose the best thing you can do is warn them over and over, prove to them that you are right on all the small things so when the big things come along they know to trust your judgment.

looking back on my teenage years my mother and father were right soooo many times and I just ignored them, I was a big idiot.

Chaminade is the exception, however I know plenty of people I went to high school with who went to colleges like Vandy/GWU/Georgetown etc. The districts where these kids comes from have a lot of money, and because of this the schools are very good in comparison. Plus to be accepted within the Chaminade "culture" you must meet the 3 requirements of light skin, blue eyes and blonde hair.

its all relative. It depends hwat town you are from. St. Mary's wasn't a good school, but it was better than EP - but thats not saying much. The cream of the crop is probably a few private expensive schools, but most of the affordable ones are right along the lines of other ones.

In the city they have some public schools like Stuyversant, Brooklyn Tech, Staten Island Tech, Laguardia etc are all top public schools in the country but you can attend these schools no matter where you live, like private school minus the tuitip.. Like everywhere there are good, great, and and average private schools. The rich send their kids to schools like Chaminade, St Mary(LI), Kellenberg, St Anthonys. He's like the top 5 worst in the league. The reason Rolle isn't back there is not because we are thin at certain positions, its because he's horrible in coverage. Dude gets burned all the time. The Giants moved him down to the LOS because he was getting torched everywhere else. Check out some of those games.

With KP, people would just ignore his side of the field. Plus Rolle is terrible value for us. You don't pay someone 8 mil to tackle. At least with KP we can maybe get a bargain on him with his injury history.

With KP, people would just ignore his side of the field. Plus Rolle is terrible value for us. You don't pay someone 8 mil to tackle. At least with KP we can maybe get a bargain on him with his injury history. Best/Most Valuable, same thing. Hes our only veteran Safety, if need be he can play multiple positions. And he was playing CB at times cause our backip CBs were such trash that the only way we could survive was by moving Rolle to CB. Yes.he had a few miscues but who didnt last season, even prince had em abd he was our best CB last season

one good thing to come out of this debacle that we call our defense, is that Prince seems to be developing into a good corner.

The best strategy now is to slow the bleeding. Having KP here next year will greatly help with that imo.

jsut because a place is disciplined, doesnt mean the occupants are disciplined....

catholic school is sheltered bull****. its how you teach ppl to be socially awkward. your exposure to real world **** is nonexistent.

im trying not to sound biased as an athiest, but clearly that comes into play here. I can't help it lol. at least i can admit that though. =P

Naw, it's true. I feel like most of the people I met in college that are awesome to be around and are actually pretty intellectual, all went to public schools. I'm not even kidding....

It's all about maturity, at least give her a few years to wise up most people at that age don't have their head screwed on right yet

Yeah, but I fear it'll be too late. Once you get into college, you're in for a rude awakening. She will be, the difference is pretty wide between her school and college.

Honestly....Id rather try and keep KP and Bennet and let Cruz go. Were deep at WR. Love Cruz but he seems too worried about life outside football and hes on jiggas ****.

Rolle may be moved around a lot, but he plays poorly at nearly everywhere they put him. The only thing he does well is make tackles. Rolle's not the only experienced vet either, Brown has been in the league for years, and KP has been a Giant longer than AR. As far as misuces, some of the other guys made a few all season. Rolle would make mistakes multiple times a game.

Sure it does. Theres an all boys school Chaminade right around the block from me. They have the highest or one of the highest of students getting into amazing colleges and becoming successful after they graduate. The individual has to want it.

The individual having to want is part of the schooling and parentig. I really don't think I went to good catholic schools then because most of the people I graduated with are motivated, but it's not like they are the best of people.

MH keeps saying "TT was a steal when we re-signed him....couldnt pass that up".....BULL****!!! it ****ed us for multiple years and left us with NO depth and jobber free agents. It was a waste of a few million dollars. we LITERALLY PISSED AWAY MONEY. how was that worth it??
I did?

It seems like Barnes and Noble is a huge failure in everything. Cruz writes a book, goes to sign autographs at Barnes and Noble, and then becomes an ***.

I know that sounds silly, but it makes me wonder.

I still think Smith to the Chiefs is dumb. I saw Enigma post something earlier that really made the most sense. Smith hasn't shown much outside of Harbuagh. I really don't know if I'd feel confident in him in KC.

This seems like a mini step forward for the Chiefs. Don't really think it's jaw-dropping.

The only thing I hate about Cruz is that cult/jay z symbol he throws up after every TD. It's such a contrived gimmick that it actually almost makes me reluctant to enjoy the touchdown.

I said nothing of the sort.
I said that I understood why they signed him and that it was a deal that protected the team.
I never said it was a great deal and that we couldn't pass it up.
