What's interesting is this. We could potentially have a ton of cap room next season (30 mill assuming cuts etc) and a top 10 pick. We now have a chance to re-allocate our money. So where do you put it? We definitely need a couple of "quick fix" linemen. We don't need anything super expensive though. However, do you assume Eli will return to "form" and keep most of your money on the offense or do you turn Eli into game manager and put the money and emphasis on the defense to keep us in games.

I'm more inclined put more money into the offense and then draft defense. We're going to live and die with Eli. We have 20 million bottled up in him. If we're to win another SB, he needs to play like it.

We need fresh OL. And a TE.

Net is usually the cost before the markup.
"Net" is cost, "List" is suggested sell.

At least that's the way it works in the printing business. Can't speak for any other business.

Cordle is constantly getting pushed back. Blitzes up the middle, 5 different starting rbs, depleted lbers, corners, safeties are killing the Giants
He said some ridiculous stat about our rbs getting tackled in the backfield....

Which is why I said I doubt it happens. BUT the Viking also havnt been a good team recently and AP usually always delivers, despite the last two games (pulled hammy), Vikings never really had a stout o line. Hes one of three rbs to ever avg. 5 yards per carry career wise.

Like I said, I wouldnt be happy cause we could certainly use the picks but I wouldnt be angry. I cant be angry and hateful like you all the time, It hurts my head.

The trade I saw proposed was Tuck, Wilson and a 2nd and 5th for AP.

I don't know how I feel about that, I think player wise it'd be fine...but we need O-line so incredibly badly, the 2nd and 5th could be used for that purpose, that said IF (and it's a huge if) AP could do well with our nothing O-line that would give Manning some time and solve many of the offensive problems since our offense is based on play action and time....if AP can run well without blocking the defense would have to respect that and Manning would have avalid Play Action threat and more time.

Yahoo Projections have Ray Rice ahead of Calvin Johnson for the rest of the year.

Ray Rice was supposed to be a top 5 RB in the NFL.

If you need a RB and have a bunch of WR's it makes sense...even if not Ray Rice is supposed to be better then CJ, I just happen to have a bunch of good RB's and wanted one WR.

Actually Eli does try to check down to the RB a lot, only most of the time hes in the middle of being brought down and gives a limp wristed effort. or theres a lineman/linebacker right on top of the rb

BJ looks like the liability at the moment. Injured hammy, and he's the SAME kind of player as Hillis. Downhill runner who needs 2 yards to start.

Then again, I have no attachment to Cox....and I love Jacobs lol....

Being a good pass catching RB is a bit of an art. And its an art that Hillis is good at. Its about knowing how to sell to the defense that you're staying in to block and then having great timing on exactly when to release.
Tiki was great at it. The rest of our backs have sucked for years at it. That's partially why screens don't work well in our offense.

Moke
10-28-2013, 11:42 AM
I'd stick with Cox, only because I actually liked him when we saw him. O-line was playing bad, still are in some cases...BJ is more of a liability and Hillis is showing he can be more effective. Kind of the same player it seems like.

Cox should be inactive.
It's clear he doesn't have the pass protection down yet, and he isn't exactly lighting it up on the ground either.
And I have no trust in Brown, he will probably break his leg "tweeting"
The addition of Hillis and Jacobs have given us two runners who can pass protect and move the chains.

Rueben Randle caught no passes on one target in Sunday's Week 8 win at Philadelphia.

Advice: Very, very strange. We didn't see any injury to Randle, but when Victor Cruz left for neck X-rays he was replaced by Jerrel Jernigan. It confirms the Giants don't see Randle capable of playing in the slot. Still, it was surprising Eli Manning didn't give his No. 3 wideout more chances to make plays as he had four touchdowns in the previous three games. We'll chalk this dud up as a little fluke for the weekly WR4 with upside. Randle is still on pace for 46 catches, 746 yards and eight touchdowns.

No he wasn't. He's a second round value at best. Plenty of tackles later in the draft with his upside. The Packers have a 4th round pick from this same draft starting at LT.
If you're picking an O lineman in round 1, he better be a LT or a freak at RT or the interior.

I know you don't follow football so let give you a little info. Bakhtiari is playing left tackle. Thus he's going up against the best pass rushers on the opposing defenses.

And I love your logic that since Atlanta's defense stinks, Trufant must suck. How's our offense? How's our O line in general this season?
Good one De.

The problem with Pugh is that he has a low ceiling. He has good fundamentals which means he is more apt to be able to play at a functional level early on. But he is what he is. As I said, he's a second round talent which means he should be able to be a solid RT. If you are drafting a right tackle in round one, he better be a friggin beast. I mean a friggin mauler.

And you also crack me up with this. You have been whining about our defense for years and you seem OK with passing on highly rated talent at corner and OLB to get a "decent" right tackle........You have no more letters for me to take,...but if you did........

My beef wth JR was his failure to deal with the O line in free agency. This was an immediate need. And I've been complaining about it since free agency started in March. I think the miserable performance of our O line and its impact on our team validates my position on this.

Personally I thought Ogeltree would have a tough time fitting into an NFL scheme. I thought he wasn't physical enough to play LB in the NFL.
He's been a very pleasant surprise so far however. Good playmaker.

My problem (as I have said) isn't regarding Pugh. I think he'll be a good player. Its the position he was drafted that bothers me. He's a second round talent. (Just like Snee). They passed on a lot of first round talent.

This is probably his last year with us.

He's never been a good zone corner De.
Even in PF's system, as late as 2011, Webby was playing man most of the time. Not sure about last year but he had injury concerns. Honestly we would have cut him if we weren't so desperate for corners this off season. He took a big pay cut but the team would have been better to just release him and sign a vet, zone oriented corner.
I say this as a guy who has always like Webby. But he's just not the player he was and his ball skills are horrific anymore.

The only thing that really bugs me about the state of today's game is the length of the games. They need to pick up the pace. Other than that, it seems that baseball has done a nice job of restoring those things that make it a great game. Its not just about hitting HR's like it was.

So I'm heated...jump up, and all I really got to do was throw an elbow into a kids chest to push him back....i didnt wanna fight them...there were 4.....but i just wanted him to know "wtf, are you kidding?"....and as we're all in each other's faces, i get pulled away by a cop and 2 security guards...or ushers or something, not sure....and im like...what the hell!? why are you kicking ME out...i got thrown to the ground!"

Zac Stacy vs. Tenn

everyone says Mathews is a must start this week.....Stay looks to be fine after his sprain, and prob has the most upside of the 3....Bell is just a workhorse, and will get points on volume alone if not scoring.....rough choice, idk who to bench.
I have Matthews on my team and I would take Stacy over him. I have Woodhead on my other team and I like him more than Matthews.

Last halloween as an undergrad student. Hopefully I can enjoy one next year without worrying about midterms.
Now you will only have to worry about working and staying alive.

I saw kids with weed on the train yesterday at like 7-8pm. As I was driving, I saw a ton of kids on the streets with bags (full of eggs obviously).

People don't go out at night anymore?

Baffled...maybe from where you live.
