I'm a Knicks fan. I do not want him to stay in NY because I'd prefer to field a good team rather than 4 mediocre to crappy guys whose job is to watch one great scorer thrown in 50 points a game while the team loses by 20.

this is true....but i think the Knicks original plan fell apart, but i think it was a decent one. Originally Stoudemire was an interior scorer, but that lasted only his first season there....hasn't been healthy since. Then Melo as THEE scorer, and Chandler as probably one of the most versatile big men on both sides of the ball in the game. From there all they needed was a servicable PG and a guy like JR Smith to take the heat off Melo........aaaaaaand clearly none of that ever came to fruition. Sucks....cuz on paper it looked good actually.

This whole Melo thing is so disappointing, he was one of my fav non-Knicks before we got him. After he was a Knick I was still a fan, but Im getting a bitter taste in my mouth, yea its great that he can put up 50 any night, but basketball isnt all about scoring, he needs to be a MUCH better all around player

It's not all his fault, he needs a real coach and a real scheme. He's a great scorer but he needs someone to build a team around him. While he's good for some boards, his assists and defense are virually non existent and management holds him accountable on neither.

You don't think Donald is a tad small Kase?
I'd rather have a pass rusher. Barr is definitely my #1 pick. I'd be OK with Ebron who can be a game changer for us on offense.
Don't like the idea of a WR for us...especially with the new system.

I dont like the idea of WR either. stud TE is a game changer. I understand what Kase means about attitude and such. But that's less of an issue when you have a rookie. You have plenty of vets on this team who LOVE the Giants and will show the kids how to be. I'm not worried about that. I'd be more concerned about the guys who are pieces of **** off the field.

Really? Im not completely confident with our current WR's at the moment. Randle's inconsistent, Cruz will be fine in the slot, Marios injury prone but can play outside, JJ's showed promise but still a question mark.

I honestly think you'll see more of JJ on the field this year than Randle. I would bet that by year end, you'll see Cruz & JJ with similar production. I don't trust Randle. I don't think anyone does. However i do like the potential depth we have at the moment. All serviceable guys.

Short, maybe.

I cant get into this love for Barr, yes he is overflowing with talent but he isnt a good fit for this team. He would be much better suited playing in a 3-4 like he has done his whole career. He would be a Kiwi-esque liability in coverage and I dont think he would be able to tangle with some of the OTs that we face if we tried him at DE. I would much rather get a guy like Donald who has been a 3-Tech DT in a 4-3 his whole college career, he would be able to step in and kill it from the 1st day.

There are really a ton of ways we can go and I wouldnt be upest unless it was QB or RB... Theres sooooo much talent in the draft

Yea, because Nicks ****ed us last year. the 2 years prior he was a threat, and really let Cruz benefit, and let the offense benefit in general. Last year, teams were like "LOLnicks" and just hounded Cruz....we only had Randle on the ground a lot of the time it felt like, and the kid played like he was in modified football most of the time. I know i sound like a bash him a lot...and i dont like doing that to a Giants player....but i just DON'T THINK Randle is that good...sorry...

285 is pretty small for a DT.

Have you watched video on this kid or just looked at the numbers???

For a 3Tech he is a little light, but he makes up for it with his relentless motor. The big body DTs are typically NTs rather than pass rushing 3techs

Player Overview
Considering that he's leading the country in sacks (1.6 per game) and tackles for loss (2.4), Donald might just be the most under-appreciated NFL prospect in college football. Sure, he isn't as big as most defensive linemen, but as he demonstrated with two sacks and three tackles for loss vs. Virginia Tech and big, mobile quarterback Logan Thomas, what a stick of dynamite may lack for in size can be made up with explosiveness. (10/18/13)

Strengths
Quick off the snap. Natural leverage. Gets under pads and into gaps. Good foot athlete -- redirects well and can work the edges and loop and stunt. Flexible enough to zone drop in short area. Plays with awareness and consistently locates the ball. Closes hard and fast. Keeps working to the ball. Disruptive penetrating ability. Outstanding career production -- 63 TFL and 27.5 sacks the last three seasons. Tough and competitive. Team captain with terrific personal and football character.

Weaknesses
Marginal height and frame is nearly maxed out. Hands are more active than strong -- could play with more pop and power. Overpowered in the run game and ground up by double teams. Gets snared and controlled by bigger, longer blockers. Not a two-gap player. Has some tweener traits -- lacks ideal length and bend to play outside.

Bottom Line
Short, scrappy, instinctive, highly productive defensive lineman who does not look the part, but inspires confidence he can be an exception to the rule. Is the type you root for and has the quickness, athleticism and motor to earn a spot as a rotational three-technique in a fast-flowing 4-3 scheme.

We could def use another WR, TE, DE, CB (prince isnt gonna be here forever), and SLB. Hell if we have a chance at Tre Mason in the 3rd or 4th id even take him as an extra RB

Now did you purposely forget DT because it doesnt support your stance??

I think we'll focus on retaining Prince when the time comes. Good CBs are hard to come by.

Im pretty sure the time is this time next year. If we draft 1 of the big name CBs we can chalk this up as Prince's last season in blue, but hopefully we dont look at a CB in the 1st and we decide to keep Prince for the long haul. I feel like he's going to become a GREAT CB in the NFL, and since CB is probably the hardest position to make the college to NFL transition Im happy with his progress

I think the optimism around here because we signed guys like Schwatrz and DRC is way overdone.
This team have real, fundamental problems.
The good news is that Dallas and Washington do as well. Philly is in much better shape though.

All I know is - if we drafted a corner last year (like mh and i said we should) in the first round we wouldn't have had to throw money at drc and we would still have a ****ty OL anyway. Unless, of course, the year prior we didn't draft a rb and instead took branch or glenn.

Been saying since draft day 2012 and 2013 that these drafts were going to set us back even if the players turned out to be good. Whaddya know

Ive said that same statement about tons of former Giants. If he comes out and KILLS IT then he will most likely be out of our price range, which is the awful catch 22. Maybe we can extend his contract this off season just to get a head of the ball

Philly is in much better shape though. that happens every year around here ...Last year I had a bad feeling about the team and didn't set my expectations to high....This year I figured It was going to take a couple years to straiten things up...I'm still not sure about keeping TC in place but I'm thinking there is a plan there.....but again I'll keep my expectations low for this year and hope #1 they are planning for life after TC #2 rebuilding this team for the future "proper"....and **** Dallas,Washington and Philly if the sun shines on one of their asses this year so be it........fix my team and fix them so they can beat everybody on their best day

They are two very different wrs. Especially as prospects. Randle is a silky smooth 6'3" wr. Mike Evans, physically, is a clone of Vincent Jackson. Look at them each in pads, it's pretty weird how alike they are. Mike Evans ball skills, his ability to go up and high point it, are second to none in this draft. Randle has never shown that ability yet in his career, some guys just have that knack of when the ball's in the air, it's theirs.

Ive been pushing this guy since I 1st heard of him. He looks like the truth, he's got a relenetless motor that just keeps kicking from whistle to whistle, and in my eyes he looks like the best 3 Tech DT Prospect since Suh (cept Donald is supposed to be a stand up guy rather than a face stomper)

YUP, we're much better at drafting and building a team than buying the proven stars. Hell even the trades we make for young players theyre players we mold and make, the days of getting washed up players for a year or 2 should be well over. Sather tried it back in the day with us and it hasnt worked, we have to keep growing our young players rather than buy them

TMNT made me think that being a ninja was actually a profession when I was a kid.

Like in the second movie, when that guy had to take all those jewels off the manican in the smoke under a certain time, and Raph helped him out. I thought that was really part of the initiation process.

To tell you how old I am....i remember Marcel Dionne in the "Faces In The Crowd" section of Sports Illustrated when he was about 15 and scored a crapload of goals in Canada in some junior league.

Im no expert, the Yanks are my 4th fav team after the Giants, Rangers, and Knicks, but I have a feeling this is going to be a long and rough season for the Yanks. There seem to be SOOOOO many holes on that team, is there any plan for next years SS yet or are we all just chalking this season up as a loss and enjoying the Jeter-Farewell Tour

I think we could be surprised. We added good players this offseason, and improved the starting pitching. I'm not necessarily saying we're making a WS run right off the bat...but i think we'll be better than last season, when we were plagued by injury.

Our starting pitching is very solid. Soriano can play 2nd if need be. Bullpen is really the only weak spot. Were not as bad as you think. Much worse last year and they were in the mix until about 2 weeks left in the season.

Bullpen has been a weak spot for years

and pretty much the whole infield is suspect with the exception of our Catchers (and Jeter, but he's gone at the end of the season)

I guess we could have worse backups than Beltran and Soriano....

Actually, I dont think it was a bad signing at all....in fact it made sense. The guy WAS always healthy, earned a big contract, played great defense....and the year we signed him, he led the league in HRs and RBIs....

slim pickins, dude....there's not exactly an abundance of stud middle infielders in the league available through FA lol.
The Yanks were immediately in a tough spot because they had to not only try to plan for A-Rod's absence, but also knowing that there was a 50% chance Cano wouldn't be re-signing here.

Wasn't that a Stranglers tune? Something about the sun, I think....but I can't remember the name of the song.

Damn. First round fail....
At least you didn't cheat like Dez. (who can't be trusted in general)

Don't worry Pizz.

I know the people who would be in charge of that. I'm on the "Do Not Touch" list.

I've noticed a few of the NYG bloggers talking about how since the Plaxident, we've kinda downplayed Plaxico's contribution to the team, and how it's a bit unfair. And I have to say, I agree. Someone this winter put a video together of Burress highlights, and before I watched, I was like "ehh...what does it matter, i know what he did."
But then I realized...well the dude only played 57 games for us, there couldn't have been THAT many highlights. So I watched. Hard to question the guys motivation that people here always seemed to harp on, after seeing plays like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSmU7Z5wYrc#t=313

idk, I've always liked the guy....I hated that his tenure here ended the way it did. But I feel like 1 ****ty decision shouldn't tarnish his reputation as a Giant, ya know?

There was a lot more to Plaxico than most understand. he cared about winning and his teammates loved him. He also was very prepared.

Plus he went to MSU and that's never bad.

Drank half a bottle of Nyquil last night, weirdest dreams ever, one of them had a fortune teller reading my nutsack instead of my hand. What could that possibly mean?
