Now they have to win every game in NY AND win one in LA.

I hate this "hold serve" nonsense. In order for the team that doesn't have the home ice advantage to win a series...they have to "break serve"

Now they have to win 4 out of 5 games against a great team. Right....No big deal.

I get the "optimism" from fans...I do. But this notion that all the Kings did was "hold serve" is nonsense.

And BTW...unlike tennis, all the Kings have to do to be Stanley Cup champs is to "hold serve".

So to say that the Kings are doing what they are supposed to do to win the Cup isn't exactly comforting for Rangers fans.

I'm a Rangers fan, it is pointless for me to bemoan what didn't happen.

The Rangers blew two 2 goal leads in LA. That's a recipe for disaster and while I'm pissed off over the sloppy play that led to that, there's nothing to be done about it now. I could whine about it but what would be the point? Plenty of other Rangers fans will surely pick up that slack. The business at hand is to now win at home and steal 1 or 2 of the LA games. Everything else is just noise.

Be a fan or don't but jesus, don't be a whiny *****. I'm invested so I'm remaining positive. Sure, maybe it's whistling past the graveyard but it's my choice and I'm choosing to stay positive.

Hey I'm rooting for the Rangers.
I sat in my car because the power went of in my home in 1994, game 7 against Vancouver. I go back to the GAG line and Pete Stemkowski's overtime goal against the Blackhawks, game 6, 1971.

I guess in theory I get how he can get that out of that guitar....but that's a 4 string bass he's playing. It makes sense that with an octave pedal you can reproduce the "bass" from the bass amp and then the higher octave into a regular guitar amp with plenty of distortion.
But it is amazing how much varied sound they can get from that set up.

Makes it easy.....you only have to deal with one bandmate.

Not an American but I can definitely say I resonate with what the tea party represents... Are there some crazies in it? Of course... But the vast majority just want a small, responsible, competent government.

I thought their mission was to bring awareness to any issue which challenges the security, sovereignty or
domestic tranquility of our beloved nation, The United States of America?

If the actual mission is to strive toward a smaller, more responsible, competent government I'd likely be a supporter. But if that's the headline its being buried under the weighty rhetoric of phony, hypocritical mouth breathing morons. That's the kind of thing that hurts recruiting and enrollment.

Oh right...cuz all these wheels werent in motion for YEARS and years, right? We had a Social Security surplus when Clinton was in office, but "Thanks a lot Obama" stole everyone's money, right? took away all the jobs? destroyed the economy.
You strike me as someone who SHOULD be smarter than to not realize it's not one person. cmon....
The social security surplus began around 1981 and continued until early in the Obama administration. Presidents and Congresses have been stealing from that surplus every year and applying it to the general fund to create the illusion that there is a lower deficit or even a surplus. They have done this to the tune of $2.6 trillion dollars. That's $2.6 trillion earmarked for retirees that has been diverted to the general fund for about 30 years.

Now the SS fund in in the red. The Dem's talk about the $2.6 trillion surplus in SS when in fact it's in the form of IOU's ala Dumb and Dumber.

"Those IOU's sir.....are as good as money!!!"

When in fact it is you who will pay for my SS. I paid for other retirees and the rest of my SS taxes went to defense, social programs etc.....

Another Democrat lie......sorry.

nah I know how it all works, we've had this discussion before anyway. One thing the republicans have right(well maybe...I cant say for sure since I dont know how it'd work) is the privatization of SS. I've been working for 15 years, and have obviously paid a huge chunk of money into a fund that I may never see. If they vouched SS and let us put it into an IRA. Yes please, and thank you.

SS is a ponzi scheme as Milton Friedman; possibly the greatest economist of our time, pointed out. The people paying into it are paying those who previously payed into it and the hope is the next generation will pay them.

Eventually there won't be enough people working and paying into it to supply those who previously payed into it.
You either will have to jack up the rate big time, or delay the age of when people receive it since people are living longer.... Both issues are extremely problematic.

This system will undoubtedly collapse like all ponzi schemes do.

Again the country was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles and values.
The first act of congress in 1774 was for a minister to read four chapters of the bible. In the Declaration, our founders acknowledged that all men "are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights..." and noted that they were relying "on the protection of Divine Providence" in the founding of this country. John Quincy Adams said, "The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity." Also, the signers of the 1783 Treaty of Paris, which ended the Revolutionary War, insisted the treaty begin with the phrase, "In the name of the most holy and undivided Trinity." When taking his presidential oath, George Washington added "So help me God" and kissed the bible.
The Ten Commandments are even on the Capitol building.

Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Jackson, McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, Hoover, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan all referenced the importance of Judeo-Christian principles in the birth and growth of our country.

This is generally true although it's more likely due to conflation of morality - or divine law - with religion that creates this impression. It is highly doubtful that - at that time - anyone was enlightened enough to understand that morality and religious practice need not have anything to do with one another.

Jefferson had lost faith in conventional religion after he had tested the bible for historical accuracy. Rather he adopted a stern code of personal moral conduct. While he embraced various Christian principles he rejected most of the orthodox Christianity. Jefferson advanced the idea of Separation of Church and State, believing that the government should not have an official religion while at the same time it should not prohibit any particular religious expression.

George Washington was religious, but avoided the topics, and avoided blantant words like "god" or "religion" as to not insinuate that was a driving force in his life or work.

Me and my family left Egypt; in part, due to Islamic extremism and persecution of Christians and it's because in the Middle East there is no separation of politics and religion.

What I love about the West is our freedom to and from religion. Believe what you want but don't push it on others or bring it into government.

However, I think some progressives go way too far with their secularism when they want to ban every mention of Christianity or Christmas, at a certain point it becomes fanatical.

This...
There's no need to refer to it as Christian values. it's just morality. These men we call the founding fathers just knew what was right, and what was wrong. They could do whatever they want in respect to their own religions, but it wasn't to be incorporated into the new government, which would have DEFEATED THE PURPOSE of why the colonies were created.

Here is the foundation of the "Judeo-Christian ethic..........The Ten Commandments

1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
3 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
5 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
6 “You shall not murder.
7 “You shall not commit adultery.
8 “You shall not steal.
9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”

Enforcing #1 is a violation of the first amendment.
Enforcing #2 is a violation of the 1st amendment
Enforcing #3 is a violation of the first amendment
Enforcing #4 is a violation of the first and 4th amendments
Enforcing #5 is a violation of the first amendment
Enforcing #10 is a violation of the 1st, 4th and 7th amendments and would take all the fun out of life in general.

Where?

I've read the constitution. I can't find any requirement to follow any religion in any way. As a matter of fact the exact opposite is true.
The constitution requires that all Americans are free to follow whatever faith they choose. Including the right to follow no religion.

I'm just sick and tired of that "Judeo/Christian" claim. I see O'Rielly do it all the time and I yell at the TV every time.

It's like a mantra with some folks and it's complete BS.

How about that whole "All men are created equal........." stuff for starters.....
Read the bible and see how women are viewed.

There is no provision for "all men are created equal" in the bible.

Those principles came in part from the Greeks.

The Christian religions are top down in scope.
They believe that common people are to be obedient flocks.
The exact opposite of the American philosophy.

Read the bible and see how women are viewed.

In all fairness that stuff was in the old testament and very specific to a time thousands of years ago in the formation of Israel.

Within the Christian realm Jesus stopped the pharisees from stoning a prostitute to death by asking the sinless amongst them to throw the first stone.

You didn't know that the foundations of democracy came from the Greeks?

I'm just sayin' Dezz....despite these guys clearly being religious, they knew better to instill this as part of the upbringing of the young country....

however somewhere they went horribly wrong, and things progressively became more and more religious. You yourself said that 10 commandments are posted on the walls of congress, which in itself is a complete disregard for the separation of church and state.
Kind of a joke....and the claim that this is how this country was founded is totally ridiculous.

In any case I never debate religion because it's a total waste of time. Religion is based on faith, you either have it or you don't, you can't force someone to be faithful, it either comes from within or it doesn't.

The bottom line is that the tenets of the Christian faith call for blind obedience to a higher power.
the tenets of the American experience are that the higher powers are accountable and subservient to the people.

It's religion in reverse.

In no way am I trying to downplay the seperation of church and state, I dont think they were either by doing the things they did, Im sure they just figured it would help people be better, moral citizens.

I didn't see you list anything like that.
What were they?
What did they put into the law that was religious based that a heathen like Pizzey would disagree with.
