Part of why I say we should sack the 2013 season for rebuilding... some of these guys are so overpaid its ridiculous. It's not like we're going to bust up the "no team has ever played in their home stadium for a super bowl" thing. Just get some of the overpaid cruft out of here NOW so we can build a new future.

Rolle is a so so situation ??? I would cut him next off season

Snee... well he will take a small pay cut I guess...will drop 1-2M to his annual salary

Boley and Tuck are a so so situation ... you can save money yes... but do you have the guys in place to replace them???

and look at Manning salary ...a 11M rise on the cap hit...if you rework the deal it will only hurt us even more next year

Giantamy, I like what you've got here. Couple of things IMO. I'd be careful about Phillips. Love him, but risky. too many health issues. 3 years is ok if you watch the cap hit if they have to cut bait. I'd also keep Canty. remember, he's the only one Coughlin singled out for playing worth a damn in Baltimore. Also missed 6-7 games and needed time to round into shape. Gets push up the middle. I'd keep him. Unicorn at 3.5 per is a 1,000,000 raise from this season. Played hurt, played well for the most part. I guess I'd resign rather than lose him, but see if it's possible to do it for less. Maybe front load it with more guarantee, as insurance on the back end?

when you already had a bunch of players restructured to start with....
and restructure is mostly guaranteed and counts toward the cap , so cutting them doesn't help.
isn't that why half of america has credit card debt that they can't pay.

i'm not sure if they'd have enough money to pay enough players
to field a team if they ditched them all next year....
where do they get the money....cutting doesn't relieve the cap.
but man....they gotta at least get started down the right road.
i'm not a capologist but i can tell we are sacrificing our present and our future with this lunacy.
not to mention they wind up getting paid the big money once they start to suck.
what a vicious cycle.

this off season we will see how good is Jerry Reese for sure he can save up to 25M$ in cap space if he is bright and I hope he will sit with Snee so he can take a pay cut...

Canty-Diehl-Webster are making way too much $$$ for what they're giving us you can sign 3 free agents for the price of 2 of them to replace the 3...

You can't gauge a contract's value in this manner. It's not performance-based. If it was, Eli would deserve a heck of a lot more than $9.6 mil for last year's effort. The yearly cap hit is just that - a cap hit. It's not what the team is paying a player in any given year.

The Giants valued seven years of Eli at 106 million dollars. Seeing as one of those years has already brought with it a Super Bowl title, the contract has already paid dividends.

Eli is worth the contract the Giants offered him.
