LB the weakest position. I will be happy with any high impact player in the front seven. Is it the DC or the players? I think the grades answer that question.

Almost makes me wonder if Antrel Rolle is worth the absurd amount we're paying him. Definitely a guy we want to keep around if possible, but he's still overpaid despite what he's done for us...

Rolle definitely needs to take a pay cut. He's had a negative rating every year with the giants and believe it or not he actually had his best rating this year.

He played more of a Strong Safety role this year..that's why he add a good run def. rating and a less of a bad pass def. rating than previous years

Rolle is much better closer to the LOS and Brown is better roaming

Don't think they can cut Rolle. Wouldn't that hurt them wih the cap? KP might not cost that much with his injury history. A good line up would be KP, Hill, and Brown.

It doesn't make any sense though... why in the hell is he better at SS yet listed as a FS? (and KP the other way around)

Bad move change Kiwi from DE to OLB, we need to improve quickly the LB's unit, teh last SB path covers all the issues in that unit.

That's what i said too..KP and Brown have the prototypical SS larger framed bodies. KP was a FS coming out of college and Brown as a SS, but both played FS this year.

Rolle was converted from CB to FS in Arizona and played FS in 2010, interchanged between SS/FS last year and played SS this year.

FS are supposed to be good in coverage, but Rolle is terrible. SS are supposed to be good against the run, which Rolle excels at.

Regardless of what safety position he plays, i feel that at this point of his career he's much better suited at being close to the LOS and playing the run than in pass coverage

How demoralizing is this. If anyone thinks blackburn is good after this please direct me to your eastern medicine dr.
Now I just found salaries for defense and I dont think it includes the bonus money or anything from actual cap hits so assume these numbers are low. Also for guys that are FA i put last years money
jpp = +23.7-1.2 mil
kp = +7.4-2 for last year
canty = +6.6-6.25 mil
joseph = +6.3-575K
brown = +4.1- not sure
hill = +3.0- rookie so assuming 575K
paysinger = +0.9-555K
tuck = +0.7-4 mil
osi = +0.5-last year was 6 or something like that
prince = +0.5-1.2 mil
tracy = +0.2-575K
bernard = -0.9-not sure what last year, vet min i would assume
jaq = -1.5- 555K
rolle = -2.9-7 mil
herzlich = -4.2-555K
kiwi = -8.4-4 for last year
boley = -8.6-4.2 mil
blackburn = -10.6- dont know
webster = -11.3-7 mil
hosley = -12.1- rookie so probably 555

To me it just says we have a huge amount of money in that negative side

+1.3 run defense
-2.7 pass rushing
+1.0 pass coverage
+1.0 penalties

that adds up to a +0.7 grade, basically average

A good line up would be KP, Hill, and Brown.If the Giants played those 3 guys all season this defense would of looked a lot different. its not a coincidence the Giants gave up a TD less per game with Phillips playing. If the Giants dont resign Phillips they should look at Baccari Rambo. Has Cover 1 range on the back end

I feel like they may part ways with Boley, not only because of his lack of production, but because he was loosing snaps

Yea, when you are healthy and losing snaps it's never a good sign. Especially when a player is going to be 31 like Boley is in August.
