"Stevie Brown capped his terrific season with another honor today, when he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time.

Brown had another big game Sunday in the Giantsí season-ending 42-7 rout of the Philadelphia Eagles. On the fifth play of the game, Brown intercepted a Michael Vick pass and returned it 48 yards to the Eaglesí 26-yard line. Four plays later, Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Rueben Randle, and the Giants were on their way to their most lopsided victory in more than three years.

Brown also tied Chase Blackburn for the team-lead with six solo tackles.

The NFL had also honored Brown after his Week 8 performance at Dallas, where he intercepted two passes, recovered a fumble and had six solo tackles in a victory over the Cowboys.

Brown is the first Giants safety to receive two Player of the Week awards in one season and the teamís first defensive back to be honored twice in one year since cornerback Jason Sehorn in 1997. Safety Antrel Rolle won the award in Week 6, meaning Giants safeties accounted for three of the 17 NFC Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2012.

Brown was one of three NFL players to receive two Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2012, joining Chicagoís Charles Tillman and Houstonís J.J. Watt.

This was the second consecutive season a Giants defender was cited twice; defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul won the award in Weeks 14 and 16 of the 2011 season.

Brown finished the season with eight interceptions, which he returned for 307 yards, a 38.4-yard average. The eight picks placed him second in the NFL, one behind Chicagoís Tim Jennings. Brown had the most interceptions by a Giant since Willie Williams had 10 in 1968.

Brownís 307 yards smashed the Giants former single-season record of 251 yards, shared by **** Lynch and Hall of Famer Emlen Tunnell. Brown easily led the NFL in interception return yards; he had 147 more than runner-up Ronde Barber of Tampa Bay. He had 202 more return yards than Jennings.

In his first season with the Giants and third in the NFL, Brown finished the season with 66 tackles (56 solo), 11 passed defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. "

Stevie was hungry and motivated......... a lot more than can be said for a lot of our Ring Holders.

The Giants need to loop off some heads.......some of those Ring Holders, and wake the rest up.
