Some players play when they want to like and some play hard all the time like Strahan, Ray Lewis, Jerry Rice.

He got old. Happens all the time in the NFL, usually around age 30. Osi is 32.

Maybe he'll come back better next year if we don't get rid of him. He's been a damn good player and he may still have a lot of fight left in him yet.

The problem is he's in a division where all 3 opposing QBs are fairly mobile. When the least mobile opposing QB in your division is Tony Romo, there's a real issue.

I think he walks, and a team like the Jets, Raiders, or Chargers pick him up. Brady and Peyton are QBs that Osi would be more effective against, especially given their age...

Totally loved when he strip sacked Rodgers in the div. round playoff game, and then forced the fumble against their lineman who had recovered the ball on the same play. That was ****ing badass.

He turned 31 in Nov and still looks the same as years before. He still has a wicked first step and can run the arc as well as anyone. Never played the run well and always gave up plays by freelancing. It would be nice to have him back but it this team has to overpay mediocre players like Diehl, Baas and Canty.

There is no one of this team, including JPP with the type of off the line quickness Osi has.

I wouldn't consider Foles mobile, and he will probably be the starting Eagles QB next year. Against immobile pocket passers, Osi still has value. But at age 32, I'd rather let someone else spend their valuable cap space on him.

its tragic how dramatic osis/tucks falloff has been. they havent played 1/10th of their capability. its really shocking. i know i forget how much osi meant to this team back when. that strip sack was a thing of beauty. he wasnt even close to that level this year...

For someone who relies mainly on their speed he looked noticeably slower this year.

He was one of the best strip sack artists I've ever seen in his prime.

His big plays far outweighed his faults. But in this day and age of salary cap hell, it's time to move on. Whatever salary cap money we have left needs to be spent on younger players.

Osi blocked 2 punts in one game as a rookie, nobody does that. I think The Chief was always working hard for Gmen and think we were lucky to have him.

Agreed. Osi wasn't going to sacrifice his body for the team this year, and it showed. Time for some serious competition.

He was the only one i saw in the backfield for the last two games. Captian tuck and probowl jpp where the ones MIA.

he only took partial lessons from stray.

stray taught him that he should always know his value (or what he thinks his value is), and not get pushed around by management (or what he thinks getting pushed around by management is).

but he never seemed to learn the enthusiasm/passion/drive that Stray had.

for the last couple years he's looked like if he's not sacking the QB then there's really nothing else for him to do on the field.

He actually tackles Lesean McCoy a few times in that video. I don't remember that ever happening

Great Video! But wow, looking at that makes me see just how old, slow and how much that first step has slowed down. Even in the last Eagles game, he just couldn't get it done. Sadly, unless he was overly affected by the defenses poorplay, he'll play another year and be on his way to the Barkolounger after that.

After watching that video I don't know how the Packers wouldn't want him on their team just so Rodgers could sleep at night. Osi abused him throughout his career.

ehh...I think the paid thing is over rated...
you have to realize alot of these guys havebeen playing football since they were little kids. Been getting their asses kicked for years.
I think for many the fire just goes out or gets low and thats what happenes. They lose their passion. NOt saying that is a great thing but IMO its more that then a $$ thing.
