My Daughter shocked me today. She is almost 4 years old and has been taught/raised to be a Giants fan. Up until today I didn't even now she knew anything about other teams except that we don't like teams with stars, eagles and indians on their helmets. Whenever we see NY on the helmet that was mommy's team.

Anyhow, today, watching NFL Network, I turned to Dylan and said, whats your favorite team ... she answers, Giants ..... BUT for the first time ever she said,Mommy I like the Viking too ..... Viking, Why .... She said they wear purple ......

I don't mind her liking other players, but teams ..... Is this just a stage? Has this happened to anyone else?

Let me guess, you would pick a name like Isabelle ... Just like the 10 other parents on my daughter soccer team ... But to correct your ignorance, the female spelling for Dylan is Dillan, I chose to spell it differently just soshe could find items with her name on it.

Example of female Dylans are as follows:

We have three sons, adults (chronologically speaking!) and the youngest is an avid GIANTS fan, The middle son espouses to be an Eagles fan because we lived in Mt. Laurel for several years and he wanted to bust my balls. The oldest son couldn't care less about football.

Just buy her GIANTS related clothing and toys and she'll figure it out for herself. Hold off writing her into the will until you're sure though. [;)]

It's the truth, and my wife and I are 30, and we had kids during the "name your kids awkward names era." Still never heard of that. Again, not knocking it. Just might cause her some hard times growing up in junior high, lol. JK

Let me guess, you would pick a name like Isabelle ... Just like the 10 other parents on my daughter soccer team ... But to correct your ignorance, the female spelling for Dylan is Dillan, I chose to spell it differently just soshe could find items with her name on it.

Example of female Dylans are as follows:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dillan_Lauren(italian actress and porn star, you prbably know her)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2365157/(Sean Penn & Robin Wrights Daughter)

http://www.desperateblog.com/lyndsy-fonseca-as-dylan-on-desperate-housewives/(Character on Desperate Housewives)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie%27s_Angels_(film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie%27s_Angels_%28film)) (character by Drew Barrymore in Charlies Angles)

THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF MANY EXAMPLES .... YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE IDIOTS AND YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR OPINION TO YOUR TO YOURSELF, SO GIANTS FAN IN SJ ...MY GUESS IS THAT IS SOUTH JERSEYAND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT PEOPLE ARE SPECIAL IN SOUTH JERSEY ...

Let's get back to the important issue, team affiliation!!

Hey, I had to defend, if you had children, you would understand, that why I posted this question, is it a stage, had anyone else gone through this ... i was shocked to hear her say Viking, it might bother me if she actually continues to like the other teams, I was seriuosly shocked and she has said it more than once ...

Thanks, I know the Giants are not so Girl Friendly or Kid Friendly for that matter (no mascot, color suit boys) but I will continue to be refocus her attention ... Thanks Roanoke ...

I think if you look at the GIANTS store on the home page you'll find "girly" things. They do have some kids things as does NFL.com

I know, I was going for the appeal accept, theViking for an example, are purple on Sundays, the have the carton-y Viking Character and the horns Symbols and Cheerleaders, which all attract little girls .....

LOL Have you thought of the "cartoons are bad for you" concept ?

When I have a kid, I am going to raise him/her to be a bigger Giants fan than me

If it's a boy, his name is Elisha David. If you can't figure out why, I'll tell you, but it's easy to figure out [;)]

Hope wifey goes for that....
Eli and David Carr!

2 of my 3 are named because of Giants players. My oldest daughter is Taylor, and my youngest son is Jacob. The trick is not to tell the mptherhow you came up with the names until it's official.

I don't know what I'll do if it's a girl... maybe Abby?

10 Worst Baby Names of 2007 (http://mixtapetherapy.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/10-worst-baby-names-of-2007-what-were-these-parents-thinking/)

Superman: No explanation necessary for why this New Zealand
name made the list, but how about the story behind it? The parents’
first choice was 4Real (as in, “when we saw him on the ultrasound, we
realized he was for real”), but government officials didn’t go for it.
Mom and dad settled on Superman but insist they’ll still refer to him
as 4Real. Way to get the last word in.

Try to read what I wrote again. If you read slowly, I said not knocking it two times. Second of all, I live in South Jersey now, I grew up in Secaucus until I was 16. My kids also have unique names. Again, I was not knocking it, so relax with the name calling.

In order to avoid scrutiny directed at your children, it's best to not even bring them up on a message board. This is a football forum for football discussion. Please remember this in the future
