JETS MISS GIANTS WITH COVER UP OF GIANTS' SUPER BOWL LOGOS AT STADIUM (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8255c563/article/jets-miff-giants-with-coverup-of-super-bowl-logos-at-stadium)

"Yapping at the New York Giants (/teams/newyorkgiants/profile?team=NYG) during the week

wasn't enough</a> for the Jets.

Coach Rex Ryan's team stepped up the tactics hours before their New York metropolitan area showdown (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011122405/2011/REG16/giants@jets) at MetLife Stadium by
putting black curtains in front of the Giants' four Super Bowl logos outside
their locker room.</p>

Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes (/players/lawrencetynes/profile?id=TYN427291) and
running back Brandon Jacobs (/players/brandonjacobs/profile?id=JAC705688) both
removed the curtains, only to have a Jets official move them back in front of
the logo. A security guard was put in front of the curtains to prevent further
tampering.</p>

"They just decided to cover the logos," Giants co-owner John Mara said.</p>

When asked if the Jets might have taken the higher road, Mara smiled.</p>

"No comment," he said.</p>

The Jets said it was simply their standard practice as those logos are
covered for every one of the team's home games, regardless of opponent, because
it is the players' entrance.</p>

Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath, <a id="yui_3_4_1_1_1324778048984_849" href="http://www.nfl.com/goto?id=09000d5d82554fe2" target="new">who hasn't been
afraid to criticize Ryan and Jets</a>, liked his former team's move, tweeting during the game (http://twitter.com/#%21/RealJoeNamath/status/150652327789998080): "Anything to get under the opponent's
skin...all's fair on gameday!"</p>

Because it's a Jets home game, they control the displays seen in the stadium,
which is co-owned by both teams. Both end zones had the Jets' logo, and the
MetLife logo was lit in green."</p>

Well said ! The truth of the matter is IMO that was a useless tactic. Can't cover greatness with a piece of cloth. Obviously the ignorant and envious can't comprehend that . A curtain can't cover the sun from shining. Just pathetic.

So?

What does that one incident have to do with what is on this thread?

Because he embarrassed himself by being interviewed drunk on the sidelines one time?

In fact, that incident forced him to finally acknowledge to himself--publicly, at that-- that he's an alcoholic and enabled him to get help.

So now, in your opinion, he has no right to speak publicly, because of one--repeat, one--self-humiliating incident on a one minute TV impromptu interview many years ago?

"He who laughs last...laughs best!"

What a great victory that was for the Giants. In one win they knocked the Eagles out and for all practical purposes, the Jets...I hope...made the Dallas game very significant and something for us all to sit on pins and needles waiting for...and won bragging rights in the city of NY...oh, yeah...maybe shut Ryan up for a while...with a chance to humiliate the other one...again.

The Dallas game is a playoff game anyway you slice it, so as far as I am concerned...we made the playoffs.
