New Your Giants' safety Stevie Brown (http://www.giants101.com/tag/stevie-brown/) was quite a surprise in 2012. Seemingly out of nowhere, Brown went from a young journeyman to a cornerstone of Big Blue's secondary thanks in large part to his record-breaking ballhawking and relentless determination to improve his game. It's the same sort of mentality he plans to take into the offseason as he prepares himself for a repeat performance come September.

"Just get better, just get better," Brown told Giants.com about his offseason plans (http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Safety-Stevie-Brown-reflects-on-2012/f2588d4b-1472-47f0-960d-c07ce6229f81). "I definitely have a lot of things that I have to work on, so I just want to get better at those this offseason."

A Restricted Free Agent (RFA) to be, Brown has prepared himself for a tender (http://www.giants101.com/2013/01/01/new-york-giants-will-place-tender-on-safety-stevie-brown/)and fully expects to remain with the Giants in 2013. Whether or not he enters the season as a starter remains to be seen as the team has to make a decision of Kenny Phillips (http://www.giants101.com/tag/kenny-phillips/), who has a long injury history and will soon be an unrestricted free agent." Let's see how he does this season, but to put up 8 interceptions and not be a starter is pretty darn good

Stevie Brown bites on play-action far too often, and often goes for the big play and leaves his corners hanging dry.

He even admitted this throughout the season when Webster was getting torched by the media.

KP is still a much better safety than Brown.

I don't think anyone has said Brown is better than Webster. Webster was also playing with a hamstring issue

brown did a great job hawking the ball when he was in the area. but he left his corners hanging without deep safety help quite a bit play action killed him.

ideally, we'd keep kp, and replace rolles salary with browns. brown/rolle cant do what kp does as the centerfield sideline to sideline safety. both are good tho closer to the LOS and in the middle of the action, esp. Brown.

Dont get me wrong , dont wanna get rid of rolle, but if i had to choose 2, itd be kp and sb
