Excerpt: "Gov. Chris Christie and the NFL today announced a series of events to be held in New Jersey next year when the Super Bowl is hosted in the region.

Media Day for the participating teams, the first official public event of game-week, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark. For the first time, the game's media showcase will be held outside the site of the Super Bowl.

The 2014 game's participants will also stay in New Jersey hotels and practice in the state -- the NFC team centered at the Giants' practice facility in East Rutherford and the AFC team anchored at the Jets' Florham Park headquarters.

Postgame parties for each team will also be held in New Jersey.

The NFL's Tailgate Party, which is held in the final hours before the game's kickoff on Feb. 2, will be held at the Grandstand at Meadowlands Racetrack.

“Our region’s first Super Bowl is a little more than one year away, and in New Jersey, the countdown has officially begun,” Christie said in a statement released by his office. “Hosting the big game on February 2 and its many celebratory lead-up events during Super Bowl Week is a major win for the state, its tourism and economic developments.” Read more...

At a press conference at New York City Hall today, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and members of the 2014 Super Bowl host committee announced events to be held in New York, including plans for "Super Bowl Boulevard." A portion of Broadway in Midtown Manhattan will be cordoned off to create the boulevard, which will feature fan events that will be open to the public free of admission.

I'm surprised more isn't being held in NY. And there was no mention of the fan experience either.
