You have to take a flyer on a guy like that..with guys like eli, rolle and tuck here..he could use the vets to show him how to be a better team player

Sounds like a future Patriot. With the Wes Welker situation, it could be a super cheap alternative. Other then that, don't see him going anywhere else really.

No you don't.

This guy is horrible.
He ran the wrong plays ON PURPOSE.
The coach said that he was having knee surgery and then said "if he shows up for the surgery".

I hate to use the term but this guy isn't just a "cancer". He's equivalent to swallowing one of those green orbs from "The Rock" where you die in 30 seconds.

I wonder if the Patriots would give up a first for Cruz with Welker being a free agent. Cruz would nicely fill the void if they released Welker and Cruz is younger and has been durable. The Pats have close to $20M in CAP to play with.

The guy purposely tried to sabotage his team's offense in an important game because he felt that he wasn't getting the ball enough. Let the Raiders and Jets fight over him.

I saw it on "In Reese We Trust" Followed by the fact that the Giants will have NO interest in him.

But then they still have to pay Cruz's asking price . . . . don't see Belicheck doing that

They have Eddleman. I just don't see them paying that much for a guy like Cruz.

No one will pay an "asking price", but if Cruz is tendered at $2.789M, a 5 year 35 - 40M with 15 - 20 guaranteed would likely be a good enough offer. That also keeps him clsoe enough to the NYC media market for his non-football ventures.

I think that we would pay him 5 years $35M with $15M guaranteed today.

Not likely possible with Nicks now ahead in the financial pecking order. That may just be posturing on Reese's part, but they let it leak so it's now on the table.

They know what he can do in that system.

Well he is going to be 32 before the start of next season. Might not want to invest so much money into a player that is physically limited in the first place.

That's true but he has been tremendously durable.

They are probably tired of the drops in huge spots.

They could always take a mid round draft pick on a slot guy. I imagine if they do make use of their large cap space, they'd go for defensive players. Isn't Talib a FA now anyway?

I wouldn't take this problem child for "FREE".....he needs help. He obvioulsy has mental/social issue....big time.

a partial from and ESPN page;

Hindsight is always 20-20, but it seems clear Mayhew underestimated the character issues that all teams were aware of prior to the 2011 draft. Young had been suspended in 2008 for behavior issues, and it wasn't difficult to find an NFL personnel man who privately expressed concern about his personality quirks.

Young's implosion included acts of violence and insubordination that you don't often see, even in a rough-and-tumble industry. His primary and known offenses -- sucker punching (http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/58799/lions-waiting-for-titus-young-to-grow-up) safety Louis Delmas (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/12528/louis-delmas) last spring and reportedly lining up in the wrong position (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/49513/titus-young-is-just-about-out-of-chances) intentionally last December -- are not just examples of immaturity. They are signs of a troubled soul who isn't equipped at this point in his life of functioning in the NFL's high-pressure world.

I hope he spends some time getting his life together before pursuing a new NFL team. Last month's bizarre set of tweets (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/52558/titus-young-sinks-further-into-the-abyss) suggested Young has much work left to do. Those of you who have been asking if the Minnesota Vikings (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/min/minnesota-vikings), or any other team, should claim him are missing how serious of a situation he is in.

Nah, the Pats don't have a first round pick this year, although I'm not sure of the rules surrounding the usage of future picks in RFA acquisitions.

Danny Amendola will also be available and is probably closer to Welker than Cruz in terms of skill-set. He'll be cheaper, too.

I don't blame Young for being disgruntled. All the Lions do is throw it to Megatron. Who wants to pour their heart and soul into a team that literally throws the ball to the same person every play?

Unfortunately, no matter what you do for this fella, you'll get the same result currently... TROUBLE! Sounds like some anti social behavior involved. Maybe a labotomy could give him some rest and relaxation. He'd be a scream in NYC!!!

At least you ultimately recognized the error of your ways, and you acknowledged it. Extremely rare on this board. Many of us can learn from you, grasshopper.

And you did it without my suffering the ignominy of going through all 530+ posts. For that, you get a pass from me, at least :)

Fisher went through it before with Vince. He's certainly handled Janoris well (at least so far). The Rams definitely needed receiver help. I like the move (at least it's not the Giants)...I think the Rams are putting together a nice young team.

Adam Jones too. They grab another receiver high in the draft and they could improve at the position significantly.

I actually just heard the Rams were the only team to put in a claim for him. Also Chris Rainey just cleared waivers and is a free agent. I would have guessed someone would have picked him up.

They just drafted Brian Quick who didn't get much playing time. They keep drafting WR's who don't amount to much...Pettis, Salas, Quick...Three in two years.
