"Yes, we already had that conversation," Goodell said. "He’s already hard at work at that already. ... We always identify this as a potential concern, and it's something that we always have to do proper steps to make sure we prepare for."

The NFL, the management company that runs the Superdome and the New Orleans power company that supplies energy to the stadium are conducting a "root-cause analysis" to determine what led to the outage early in the third quarter of the Ravens' 34-31 win against the 49ers.

Both Goodell and Doug Thornton, the general manager of the Superdome, believe the issue that took place Sunday night is fixable. They said it was not related to Beyoncé's halftime performance, which ran 100 percent on generator power, nor does it reflect on the age of the 38-year-old Superdome, which was completely renovated post-Hurricane Katrina."
