does anybody think the g men go after desean in the off season.excellent playmaker lined up with nicks and cruz would be a nice fit and maybe we could actually have a bonifide punt returner that scares teams. not just a dude back there to catch it. i say go for it in 2012. piss off the eagles too.

He will be franchised by the Eagles. The question is whether or not they trade him before his salary is on the 2012 books...

I don't know. He is classless. Not giants material IMO

Classless.

Stupid (see dropping the ball short of the goal line against the Cowboys in his rookie season).

Does not put his body on the line since his concussion

Selfish.

Dogging it this year because he's not happy about not getting paid.

One trick pony -- speed and nothing else. Not a great receiver in any other respect.

All those add up to a resounding NO

He is the player in the league that I truly despise. It's not due to his ability on the field as there are plenty of guys that perform well against the Giants, I just think he's a terrible human being and I just could not root for him in a Giants uniform. I'd be extremely disappointed in the front office if they pursued that scumbag.

that would make me sick. and i'm glad that the giants would never make that move. stupid idea. jackson already peaked and we don't need him. plus he's an idiot.

If we are going to spend money this offseason. It better be on the O-line or the interior of the D-line addressing our run blocking and run defense problems.

It's funny that you mention this, because I was thinking of this the other day.

I actually want to do this for a few reasons, all good ones, IMO:
- It would take a quality opponent away from the Eagles (they then need to use money and energy to replace him)
- Eli is a very, very good QB throwing the deep ball. Throw it Deep to DeSean 2-3 times per game, we'll hit a few.
- We need a PR in the worst way. Jackson is one of the est in the biz.
- Instead of facing him, and having him hurt us, he could help us win games.

I know a lot of people don;t like DeSean, but he's not a bad kid, and if he goes to a team that actually treats him well, I think he'll respond.

It would be a very good move for us.

id rather smith over jackson. jackson is a one trick pony. he'd be scary with cruz and nicks, but i'd rather a wr who is where he is supposed to be 109 times in a season.

remember, when we had smith and nicks, teams were doubling SMITH. think about that for a moment...thats how amazing eli to smith was. 3rd and smith didnt come from nowhere, i believe that pro bowl year he led the league in 3rd down conversions.

granted it depends on his health, but god, imagine having nicks and cruz out wide, and smith in the middle. how the f do u stop that? HOW? itd be unfair

Plus he has the same problem as our current WRs. Drops we need someone with sure hands.

thank god a logical approach to the question. i agree with this 100%

sure he's ****y and can be an idiot at time and a show off, but honestly with coughlin coaching him do you think he does any of that crap without getting fined or benched? these guys love to be on the field he does the crap he does cause andy allows it.

bring him here under eli and a revamped o-line with a renewed running game ( please oh god give us trent richardson in the draft some how ) and he will elevate his game to a level beyond it is now.

until then he sucks lmao

I want to say yes because he is an explosive play ready to happen but no because he is immature and classes, not really what the Giants are into signing and wouldnt fit with a classful organization.

Only if he's willing to sign as and be paid as a K/P returner.

As a WR he has done very little to hurt the GIants. And if we're going to start buying up players to keep them off other teams we're going to have a lot of crappy players on the roster.

Gee, I wonder if we should get Early Doucet as well?

It's not just franchise $$ that we'd have to pay. We'd have to give Philly something in return.

Why would anyone consider picking up Jackson, he has shown his true colors and mailed it in this year on the Eagles, he's a homey, all about him, team doesn't matter, whoever gets him will regret it.</P>

the dude is an awesome punt returner. something we just dont have.

NYGRealityCheck
12-26-2011, 12:19 PM
He's going to be looking for star WR money and the Giants won't have a star WR position for him. He would definitely be an instant improvment for the special teams production, but the Giants aren't going to pay an arm and a leg for just that. The best scenario that most people would probably agree with is... if he left the divison...because he's notorious for doing well against Giants twice a year.

deekay7685
12-26-2011, 12:58 PM
we should not spend too much money on signing a star wr.
for similar money we can replace Manningham with the Saints' R. Meacham. taller, better hands and good inside 20.
draft a te like Fleener.
our receving corps would be awesome.

I don't want him for a number of reasons but an Eli Manning to Desean Jackson deep ball would be the most dangerous play in the NFL.
