Would they offer $8M to Cruz in a long term deal?

Would they offer $8M to Cruz in a long term deal?In addition to a first round pick? Doesn't seem like the Patriot Way to me.

I know, but Welker and Cruz bring similar production and they can spend less for Cruz and replace and possibly even exceed Welker's production.... We can just sit and watch.

It's a long shot as they don't have all of their draft picks. Still, I don 't think it's impossible. We've beaten them twice in the biggest game of them all, it could be to their benefit to replace Welker with a cheaper, younger and, possibly better, version. It might also be beneficial to take one of our weapons away.

They do have clsoe to $20M in CAP space.
