Excerpt: "Update: 3:37: Redskins officials have told people in the league that they are considering going to court to seek an injunction that would hold up the start of free agency or threatening that move in a bid to bolster their negotiating leverage with the league. Those conversations were confirmed by two people with knowledge of them.

Both said that the Redskins have compelling arguments they could make in an attempt to convince a judge that they would suffer irreparable harm if they are not granted an injunction. But others familiar with the case have said they don’t believe the Redskins have legal arguments that weren’t already considered, and rejected, by an arbitrator.

Through a spokesman, the Redskins declined to comment. Separately, the NFL also declined to comment.

Original post:The Redskins (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins) have put contract negotiations with some of their players on hold, telling agents and players they remain hopeful they can recoup some of the salary cap space that was cut by the NFL last year, according to several people familiar with the situation.Redskins officials have told those agents and players that they cannot negotiate in earnest until the salary cap matter is resolved. The players include some eligible for free agency in March and others who face the possibility of release unless their contracts are reworked, those people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the team does not want such issues discussed publicly. The team has told parties involved that it hopes to reach a resolution by late this week." Boo hoo, they're complaining about being punished.

Same Article: "The cut is a penalty for the way the team structured some player contracts in 2010, when there was no salary cap." "The league ruled that the Redskins and Cowboys sought to gain an improper competitive advantage by loading extra salary into the uncapped year."

Unfortunately, they're going to find out that the rest of the NFL league does not revolve around these losers.

Unfortunately, they're going to find out that the rest of the NFL league does not revolve around these losers. They did get a an advantage. They are mad they actually had to pay for the contracts they gave out. They didnt have any fall out except they had to take the cap hits any other team would of for those contracts. Fans of those teams keep crying about this but could u imagine what would of happened if the rest of the league didnt adhere to this. The Salary cap basically would of been a complete joke. Everyone would of put everything into that year. Skins and Boys are just trying to act like they are better then the other 30 teams. Honestly the Bears Peppers contract is a little fuzzy 2 but it wasnt as obvious as what the Skins did they were the worst by far

Every team in the NFL would of taken all the guaranteed money in everyones contracts and made it guaranteed base salary for 2010. Could of put all Elis money into 1 season could u imagine that cap hit would be like 8 million instead of 20

They should let the Skins have the cap space back and allow all other 30 teams to convert that equivalent with no penalty
