20 mill a year when Brady just did his for less then half that. This deal makes Falco highest pd QB and he prob sits behind at least 4 or 5 other QBs. This is just like when Eli won his first SB and got that 104m deal. Difference is Eli win a second one and still has - few yrs left on his deal.. Falcco may or may not win another one

He rolled the dice and won. The Ravens were stuck. They basically had to pay him whatever he wanted.

QB contracts are getting ridiculous. The Cap doesn't seem to be increasing at the pace of a franchise QB's salary.

In the end Flacco screwed the Ravens and any chance of winning with his demands. He doesn't have the ability to carry that team and requires an elite defense, mauling OL and talented targets to win.

I disagree with every single statement in this post.

I agree. Spending 1/6 of the salary cap on one guy makes it hard to field a quality 53 man roster.

They just won the SB with an average OL and a subpar defense (ranked 17, and 5th in the playoffs)

Defense did blow, though.

The reigning SB MVP QB used his leverage to get that contract. Not surprised. godforbid any team wins a SB with the starting QB on his contract year anymore... money money money monaaaa... lol

Market value. If Flacco didn't get that from the Ravens, he'd have got it from somewhere else. The Ravens couldn't stand to lose him so they had to pay.
