So is Flacco's new deal crazy or just the next wave of QB salary increases? Seems he is not worth that freaking much...what is the consensus here?

well he considered himself elite earlier last season, so I guess he is now paid elite. We'll see if he can keep up the pace.

He won a Super Bowl. He's worth it.

If this was all happening in NY, the fans would be all over the GM for this deal within 2 years. Just look at how Tannenbaum was run out of town for that Sanchez deal...

Sanchez is a freaking bum, though. That contract was insane and everyone knew it.

A Super Bowl makes all the difference and Flacco stepped up big time during the post-season. Eli-esque.

Joe Flacco talked the talk and then he walked the walk. The guy leads his team to playoffs every year and won it all this past season. I don't know why Baltimore Ravens wouldn't sign him.

And yet Eli isn't asking for 20 mil a year. Yeah his cap number is huge, but that's due to the 2011 restructure which reduced his cap number to something in the range of 9M... Eli is only making actually something like 14 million

Flacco and Peyton are the top 2 QB in the AFC in my opinion. He stepped up big this year and will be tough to beat for years.

You're comparing a deal signed in 2009 to one signed four years later? They get larger every year.

At the time, the contract Eli signed made him the highest paid quarterback in the league. Just like Flacco.

Uh the guy just won a Superbowl and has been in the playoffs every year since he's entered the league.
