Lose one receiver, add another: Patriots reach agreement in principle on five-year deal with former Ram Danny Amendola, per league source.

Looks like it's between the Rams & the Vikings now...

Will be interesting to see the money involved in Danny's contract..

I bet its no more than the 6 mil per year the Bronoco's paid Welker

The Patriots agreed to a 5-year deal with Danny Amendola, source says. 5 years, $31M. $10 guaranteed. Avg: $6.1

This is GOOD! Cruz and Condon will hopefully now realise, along with the rest of the League, that Cruz doesn't deserve to be paid above $6million and SURELY we can afford that?!

the Pats went after Amendola instead of Cruz, because they didn't have to give up a 1st round pick..

Bad move by the pats imo.

The guy missed like 20 games in 2 seasons.

I never thought they would be in the mix for Cruz. BB loves his draft picks.

This is good news.Ur right about that brother this is good news,I was looking at NFL Network earlier and they said that GMs across the league just don't put as high value in slot guys as they do #1 wideout guys. This just might cause Cruz to soften his stance and accept whatever deal the Giants have offered.Walker got 6 mil and this guy got 6 mil a yr.I would have put Welker in front of Cruz but Cruz in front of this guy.The Giants ought to like their position in this whole ordeal now,and the Cruz should come back to earth a lil and not expect 10+ mil a yr at least not from the Giants.Minn. or the Rams might be tempted to go there especially the Rams but now I see our chances of resigning Cruz increase a whole lot

So, looks like the market is set at $6m/yr for slot guys. Let's say Cruz is more explosive than either, so he get's $6.5m-$7m/yr.

Why does Amendola's contract mean that Cruz shouldn't be paid above $6M?? If Amendola is worth $6M, Cruz is worth $18M
