View Full Version : Dan Marino's records being shattered within 7 years of a rule change is a travesty

A travesty I say. Everyone getting a hard on over everyones flashy numbers should sit down. Marino put up these numbers in a league where you could beat down a receiver up and down the field, could hit a quarterback with a rusty bat, where offenses were much more primitive.

To have Manning break his record as soon as the league enacts stricter illegal contact and holding penalties, and then have it all snowball every year, its just really unfair. Especially when there were about 4 or 5 other hall of fame players at the same position during that time who couldn't even sniff his numbers.

Really bad stuff now. The NFL has changed this game into touch football.

Not to mention that the saints have really bothered me by relentlessly pursuing the record by running up the score even when they have games put away. I hope they get bounced out of the playoffs first round.
