@RVacchianoNYDN: Giants have been awarded one compensatory draft pick -- in the seventh round (Pick No. 253). #NYGI thought we were going to get a 5th or 6th. I don't know why a lot of people thought we were going to get a bunch of picks this year, though.

We all knew this... just doesn't quite ever make sense.

Manningham and Ross only netted us a 7th?

...Don't forget Tolly.

However, Tolly and MM's contracts weren't very big.

We also signed 3 guys, Bennett, Locklear, and Rogers. We netted the same number of FAs that we lost.

Even still, thought we were getting at worst a 6th.

I don't understand, who did the Texans, Chiefs, Titans, and Falcons lose that would get them 3rd and 4th round picks. Especially the Chiefs, they made a bunch of huge signings.

Especially the Chiefs, they made a bunch of huge signings.Well, the Texans lost Mario Williams. He got a $100m contract. The Chiefs lost Carr, who got a pretty big contract from Dallas. Don't really know who the rest lost.

Remember, this is based on who teams lost and gained last offseason.

If that's the case I hope Osi, Barden, Hixon, Bernard, Blackburn, D. Carr, and Tynes land humungous contracts. M. Bennett is already checked off. We'll probably get nothing off K. Phillip's stupid small Eagles contract. I know I left out some other Giants FAs, but most of them won't land any big contracts.

Do we ever pick well with comp draft picks? Didn't we draft McCants last year? I wanted Votaze Berfect with it. Good thing we didn't. Who needs a MLB?

I'd rather pass on the extra 7th rounder and would rather sign an extra UFA out of college. We seem to do better with the UFA's because with the exception of Bradshaw, our 6th and 7th round picks tend to be stinkers.

It's worth something when you consider there are guys like Hynoski that went undrafted, gives you a chance to take a guy that you may have liked want to sign to a FA contract but end up having to compete.

well, second to last pick, ehh---maybe a camp body who does not make the squad. Yes, there is a chance we find a Bradshaw type player, but there is a better chance we don't with that pick.

If Reese finds a late rd gem, then so be it. My point is that more likely than not, that pick will not turn into a Bradshaw or Kuhn type.
