Do you think Nassib was taken as a successor to Eli or future trade bait?

Either is possible, though trade bait is more likely.

Trade bait. We tried it with Woodson though and that did not work out.

We're going to convert him to linebacker.

How could we possibly expect a guy like Nassib to become trade bait without playing?

Dangle a worm in front of him?

How could we possibly expect a guy like Nassib to become trade bait without playing? There's preseason and mop up duty. How much play time did Matt Flynn or Kevin Kolb ever get? There's a lot of QB starved teams out there. In a couple of years this pick could turn into a 2nd or more

Let's see who makes the final 53. I hope we don't keep 3 QBs but we do have to consider Eli getting injured at some point as he ages. If we're comfortable with Car taking over and winning games, then this pick might be, as others have suggested, for a trade down the line. My hope is that there is a competition for Eli's back up and Nassib wins.

Ok, I'll bite. How are those two picks even remotely connected?

He then got traded from Seattle for a 5th.Since we used a 4th and a 6th we are already behind that
Kevin Kolb started 7 games and saw time in 12 the 2 seasons before he was traded. Unless Eli gets hurt there is no way in hell Nassib sees that time

They're both from Syracuse.

Also, this thread has nothing to do with the draft, why was it moved here?

How would you like to be trashed by the GM..."hope he never has to play for us"...I'm paraphrasing.

But not so fast. Supposing the Giants make the playoffs the next 5 years, and Eli is no longer the quick healer that he is. So what kind of quarterback are the Giants likely to be able to draft with a perennial late draft position?
