Does he stick on the roster or what? Was with the Bills in 2011 but never played.

What's the story with this guy?

Dropped from 450 to 375.

Omaha Nighthawks (2012)

The Nighthawks signed Jasper in September 2012, where he plays both ways as a starter on the offensive line and as a defensive tackle in goal-line situations.

From his wiki, he played DT on goal line situations, imagine trying to run through this guy. I'm pulling for him.

Interestingly enough he played both DT and OG in college. Having been 450 pounds is a little concerning from a health perspective, but if he can just stand his ground a RB would have to take a detour to get around him.

interesting...hope the big man and Rodgers both make the final roster and bring us effective play at the Nose!!!

Couple that with Linny Jo, Jenkins, Patterson on the inside with a (hopefully) reinvigorated JPP, Kiwi and Tuck on the outside and maybe, just maybe, we get some push at the point of attack.

Collapse that pocket baby!

There's a WR that's a FA right now. His name is Ramses Barden, and he is 6'6. I bet we could just sign him, and utilize him in the red-zone where his height could be a difference maker. Sign him JR!

Sign him JR!I get the sarcasm and never bought the Barden hype. Size doesn't mean anything unless you figure out how to use it. Still, Barden was a draft choice and has had 4 years to prove something........to no avail. Jasper is just one of those juys that we pick up at this time of year who have enough to get a look. I think its an exciting time of year because some of these unheralded players will wind up helping us.

I don't think he is out of shape. Looking at pictures online he has some good muscle mass, his arms and legs are well defined for a guy his size. Hopefully this kid is making lifestyle changes and not just extreme dieting to shed the weight.

this is a quote from Jasper :

I’ve been here since late January, getting in shape. I’ve done some amazing strength work with [strength coach] John Gamble,” Jasper said. “Weight is no longer a factor. I’m in shape and I’m doing what they ask me to do (http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article892951.ece).” Not many people can call themselves lean at 375 pounds, but the 6-foot-4 Jasper (who’s listed at 394 (http://www.nfl.com/player/michaeljasper/2499281/profile), which is what he weighed at the start of training camp last year) says that for him, 375 is fit.
“I was looking at old pictures of me in college to now,” Jasper said. “I’m still a big human being, but as far as the girth in certain areas and the muscle strength and the leanness, it’s pretty awesome. I enjoy it.”

sounds like he has a handle on his health, GO BIG<BIG BLUE!

He's only benching 45lbs more than his weight. That's terrible, but strenght wise he is right ther with the other football players but he can use his extra weight as leverage. Honestly he should at least be benching 600lbs. Not a lot to ask for a 400 pounder, heck snee benched 600lbs.

@nyg4life...
My Man, he had 5 plates on and did 1 rep. If he could have done 6 plates he would have done at least 5-7 reps. There is a power lifting chart, you can look it up if you want that explains this. I lift and I can tell you that the bench press video is of the man at his limit or 20lbs within it. But you dont have to take my word. Doesn't matter to me, I could care less, only reason I responded to you was because you called out my post.

I lift as well, I'm benching 265 8+ reps, I'm no novice. I tore my rotator cuff so I can't go crazy anymore :(

Just because they made a video of him benching only 500 lbs doesn't mean his max is only 520. He lifted it with ease brother. Watch the video again.

There was no struggle, no grunting, no heavy breathing, he didn't arch his back to cheat, nobody assisted him whatsoever other than the lift off.

You do realize he's not a lean 400 lbs right? All that excess fat isnt going to do anything for his bench strength....
Ive always tried to stay big & strong my whole life as sports have been a big part of my life,as I've gotten older I've tried to get leaner, I'm 6'5 240 & bench more now than I did at 280

I heard Jy Bond once punted a seed and a tree sprouted out of it.

Seriously though this kid looks impressive. He has obviously worked out really and is taking this opportunity seriously. If he continues to work out like this and stays healthy I'm sure he will find some type of work in the nfl, even if it is as a long term practice squad guy.

Last year most of the damage done to the giants was rushes right through our middle. Maybe this guy continues losing weight and makes a good fit. If he can get 390 lbds 33 inches high he has enough leg strength and weight to get leverage I think.

Wow. Dude this guy is massive and moves well for his size. Just hope he keeps losing that weight and keeps working on that explosiveness and he could be the real deal. That's the fun of preseason. Dreaming of what could happen. This kid may have had the raw talent to excell at the lower levels. Maybe it has sunk in that he has to work now to make the grade.
