Coughlin said Aaron Curry's visit/workout was still going on this morning. That's why Curry is still here. Coughlin said there's "interest" - From Ohm Youngmisuk

Unless he is interested of landing a coaching job with the Giants it looks like things are heating up about a possible contract signing

Giants showed zero interest in Dansby. Strange considering he ended up signing a 1 yr contract. They release how much he got paid?

Signing Curry cheap would be a good move, he has talent. If he's healthy he should provide some good competition.

They probably want to see how his knee responds after a day of workouts. They don't want to have another Keith Bulluck signing on their hands, they made that mistake once already.

The raiders dont exactly make great decisions.

Curry was cut by the Raiders because they were tired of dealing with his knee issues, and are solid at weak side LB with Miles Burris. Curry missed most of the 2012 offseason, all of camp, and the first eight games with knee problems. He managed to play just 18 snaps last year.

In 48 career games, Curry has registered 190 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

He should fit right in with our other standout LBs, assuming his knees hold up.

I don't think Stevie Brown is that great. I prefer KP.

Because when KP was healthy, he was a complete, top 10 safety

I'll take Stevie Brown over a player that is barely ever healthy (and I admit KP is good when healthy, but thats 'when')

Because when KP was healthy, he was a complete, top 10 safety

and his knee is degenerative. So he will never be healthy again.

So goodbye to your argument.

He was always around the ball and picking off QBs. I like KP but Stevie has good instincts and more healthy so I'd rather have consistency over inconsistent health.

stevie is a one hit wonder who blew his share of coverages,,most of his picks were in his lap, he is far from a ball hawk. he did nothing up to last season so lets not get too excited just yet.

Who cares if they were in his lap? A turn over is a turn over. Wanna put an asterisk next his 8 int's now? Sheesh some fans are never satisfied

For real, I think brown is the truth as well as hosley. The secondary will do way better than anyone expects

Is this a Curry thread or a Steve Brown thread?

Anyhow, as for Curry - hope he has his wheels. My grandmother could compete on our team for a LB role.

Look at his highlight reel from last year. A good half of his picks, he was 10 yards off coverage and the QB badly overthrew the ball. He was totally out of position to make a play on a properly thrown ball.

The risk/reward factor on Curry is huge. I don't give Oakland too much weight when it comes to prudent personnel moves, so if he can get his knee bad to strength, this might be a huge move for the Giants. I think Curry is the type of guy that loves the spotlight, so playing in the big apple might be just the motivation he needs to bring it back.

Agree. What do we have to lose. If he is a bum, we cut his minimum salary.

Injuries aside: there's a very long list of players who've languished in the "Black Hole" of Oakland and flourished elsewhere. Players who are in particular need of structure seem particularly likely to fail out there. Hopefully TC will get the most out of him.

Ridiculous post.

They fell in his lap because he put himself in position to make the play. I went to check PFF to confirm my opinion of Stevie and in only 846 snaps he had 8 INTs. He also received positive grades in ALL categories except run defense, where he was -1.0 (not that bad).

WHEN being a key word. I also preffer KP but he's gone and there's no guarrantee he would stay healthy.

could be, but i'd rather roll the dice on him than another year of KP playing 6 games

any beyond that, plenty of players that just get in new surroundings period and flourish
