http://www.giants101.com/2013/06/24/new-york-giants-justin-tuck-to-warren-sapp-michael-strahan-is-the-best-pass-rusher-who-ever-lived/

The feud between former New York (http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york/)Giants defensive end Michael Strahan (http://www.giants101.com/tag/michael-strahan/) and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://www.giants101.com/tag/tampa-bay-buccaneers/) defensive tackle Warren Sapp (http://www.giants101.com/tag/warren-sapp/) is no secret to anyone.

Strahan was not part of the NFL (http://www.giants101.com/tag/nfl/) Hall of Fame Class of 2013, but Sapp was; something Strahan has been very upset about (http://www.giants101.com/2013/02/08/retired-new-york-giants-de-michael-strahan-fires-back-at-warren-sapp-over-hall-of-fame-comment/) and many felt Strahan was a more deserving candidate. Sapp decided to publicly go after Strahan last week in an interview (http://www.giants101.com/2013/06/20/warren-sapp-“simeon-rice-was-a-better-rusher-than-michael-strahan-any-day-of-the-week/) and said his former Super Bowl teammate, Simeon Rice, was a better pass-rusher than Strahan in his career.

On Monday, at the Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic, Strahan's former teammate and current Giants defensive captain Justin Tuck (http://www.giants101.com/tag/justin-tuck/) spoke in defense of him and had a pretty clear message for Sapp, as he told Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post (https://twitter.com/HubbuchNYP/status/349206900145004544).

"Justin Tuck (http://www.giants101.com/tag/justin-tuck/) has a retort for Warren Sapp (http://www.giants101.com/tag/warren-sapp/): Michael Strahan (http://www.giants101.com/tag/michael-strahan/) is the best pass-rusher who ever lived," he tweeted." Read more...

Wow, Simeon Rice better than Strahan? As someone who lived in TPA while Rice played for the Bucs, I have to say this...WTH is Sapp smoking? Rice is just like Osi and I'd go on to say that Osi is better then Rice. Now don't get me wrong. Rice was a good pass rusher, but that's all he was. Having to suffer through Buc's games, he got blown up on rushing plays.

On a side note...GJ Tuck.

Let's hope this inspires Tuck.

Just kidding, what the hell is going to inspire Tuck at this point?

I think Tuck might have forgotten about Lawrence Taylor. Still nice to see him defend Strahan.

Bruce smith is the best DE alive followed by Strahan.

Reggie White was better than both, IMO. But you did say "alive" , so then I agree.

Deacon Jones was better than all three......but again.....alive

Strahan was every bit as good as Smith ......both beasts in their own right

So, is Sapp saying he himself is overrated because he had great players like Simion Rice playing next to him? See, Strahan did deserve it more and Sapp agrees.

I'm glad Tuck's sticking up for his dude. It's not a function of whether or not it's true or not...it's a function of supporting you friend. Plus, Tuck has the stats to talk about it at least...Stray is a beast and deserves any props he gets. Sappy is just a jelly jealous biggy big.

Simeon Rices prime was close if not better than Strays as a pass rusher.. But Strahan was an allround better player in all aspects of the game.. Only 3 times did Rice eclipse 40 tackles and never had more than 44 .. Strahan eclipsed 44 10 times in his career .. had over 50 4 times and over 60 3 times.. and oo yea he twice bestes Simeons best season in sacks by a mile

Even if it isn't necessarily true (Taylor, Jones, White, and Smith have all been named, and rightly so), it's nice to see tuck get angry at something for a change... Now if only he could take that anger and sack RG3 with it, maybe he'd stop publicly blowing him in the media...

Tackles dont mean you are a better player. What if on Rices teams, the other side was occupied by a bad DE? Then the ball is run more the other way, resulting in less tackles. The number of tackles dont mean much, its the % of tackles by attempt/ plays ran his side that matters. Im not sure you can find those stats out.

As for sacks, 141.5 for a career and an NFL record 22.5 in 2001 for Stray in 15 years.
Rice had 122 career and a high of 16.5 in 1999 for the Cards in 12 years.

Yup. Antonio Pierce had 100 tackles for us and he was absolute garbage. Danny Clark also had 100 tackles for the Raiders I believe.

At this point in Warren Sapp's career, I look at him just like Ray-J. Doing whatever you can to troll America and get a few bucks out of it.

Bankrupcty, "I Sacked it first", Rice vs. Strahan. It's ridiculous.

I pretty sure Tuck isn't entirely serious or forgetting the other great rushes. It's a hyperbole that is cleverly mirroring Sapp's own exaggerated assertions for his teammate in Rice.

I always thought Sapp was not very bright, stupid to be honest, but I wasn't really, really sure. He opened his mouth one time too many and now I am sure.
