Excerpt: "Jayron Hosley is a player the Giants drafted a season ago hoping he could become a solid slot cornerback. They are still hoping.

Jayron Hosley (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/154922/jayron-hosley) is a player who could make a big impact in the secondary for the New York Giants (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/new-york-giants) in 2013. Let's look at Hosley today as we continue working our way through the 90-man roster the Giants will bring to training camp.

2012 Season In Review

Drafted in the third round the Giants hoped the 5-foot-10, 178-pound Hosley would make an impact as a slot cornerback and punt returner. Preseason injuries took him out of the running for the punt return job. He played in 12 games and started six at cornerback, but struggled. He had a passer rating against of 121.5 in 465 snaps, and only three cornerbacks were worse. He surrendered completions on 70.2 percent of the 47 passes thrown in his direction." Read more...

Jayron cant play like he did last year and expect to be impactful on this team.

maybe his punt returns will ensure a place on the team for him.

I still have faith that he will make positive strides this year. There were bound to be growing pains.

Me too...showed some flash.

Would be nice if Fewell dialed down the complexity a little bit.....we've got some physical guys who appear confused.

All I got to say is watch out for Charles James, Jayron. The giants may have there next UDF stud on there hands, in Charles James, who could fit the bill, of exactly what they were hoping when they drafted Hosley. I'm looking forward to those 2 battling it out in camp.

It will be worth watching how he progresses during the pre-season, I think winning punt return duties and then using his time to hone his skill set would help him out immensely. Not going to throw in the towel on Hosley just yet.
