http://www.giants101.com/2013/07/09/new-york-giants-te-brandon-myers-im-with-a-great-organization-and-proven-quarterback/

Excerpt: "Back in March, the New York (http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york/) Giants made perhaps one of their best signings in free agency when they landed former Oakland Raiders tight end Brandon Myers (http://www.giants101.com/tag/brandon-myers/) to a four-year, $14.25 million deal to replace the departed Martellus Bennett (http://www.giants101.com/tag/martellus-bennett/).

Myers got his first chance to start in the NFL (http://www.giants101.com/tag/nfl/) back in the 2012 season after former Giant Kevin Boss departed from Oakland and Myers made the most out of his opportunity, hauling in 79 catches for 806 yards and four touchdowns playing in an underperforming offense with quarterback Carson Palmer. Now, Myers has a chance to play with an elite quarterback in Eli Manning (http://www.giants101.com/tag/eli-manning/), who has a history of throwing to tight ends in the current offense, so Myers will definitely see a lot of looks his way.Myers chose the Giants over nine or ten teams that had reported interest in his services in free agency and a big reason why he chose to come to New York (http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york/) was playing with Manning and in the Giants offense, as he told Dave Hutchinson of the Newark-Star Ledger. (http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2013/07/giants_summer_questionnaire_tight_end_brandon_myer s.html)

"It all worked out for the best. I’m with a great organization, a proven team with a proven quarterback (Eli Manning (http://www.giants101.com/tag/eli-manning/)), in an offense that if you’re a tight end and you can get open, you’ll get a lot of opportunities to catch the ball." Read more...

Generic patter. It's not like he was going to say anything untoward.

Hah, I suppose; sorry. But it's true. I'm just not going to read into any old fanbase-baiting sound bite a half-baked media outfit has opted to build a nothing article around.

Why do people do the "well what do you expect him to say???" crap. Just take the compliment and move on lol.

They lift content from elsewhere and surround it with fanbase-pandering superlatives. It seems to be the 101 organization's M.O. If they'd add an ounce of insight/effort to their articles I'd give them the time of day.

manning, cruz, nicks, meyers, randle, murphy, jernigan, brown, wilson could be pretty formidable,,,,this of course depends on the play of the OL. fingers crossed for a dynamic season and a super bowl birth.

i'm curious to see how he will be used in the offense. i expect a check down, witten type of TE who will challenge the seam/vertical routes 3-4x a game.

The confused me too. It's a 4 year deal, with 3 years being voidable. Basically it's a one year deal with creative cap management language.

Can it be voided by both parties?
If it was just the Giants that would be perfect. I dont think this guy is going to under perform though.

Sounds great to me...I think Manning and him will be great together...Hopefully he also has that Bavaro ablity to catch and run over defenders as well.
